I am writing about my recent experience with cowboy jacks this past Sunday. I have been to cowboy jacks several times over the past few years, and have never had this bad of experience. Upon arriving to cowboy jacks we headed up stairs to the rooftop and received good services from Mandy the bartender who told us about the bottomless bloody mary/screwdrivers deal for that day. When we went downstairs to watch the football game, they said the bottomless deal was only until noon when we were told it was until 2pm. They refused to let us order food from the bar downstairs when we had no waiter come to our table when we were sitting there already for over 30 minutes. When we asked politely at the bar for a menu and service, the bartender was extremely rude and went on about how she is a bartender not a waitress... one of the management came over and helped us order some food. She was very nice and apologized for the situation, when we received our food some of it was missing and not what we were expecting when we ordered. When we received our bills for the 4 of us with our food and drinks, the waitress had all of the receipts mixed up and had to adjust several things that was incorrect on the bills. Also, the bathroom stall had no lock on it, no toilet paper and the hand dryer was not working. It was very disappointing the level of service we had received for the day, next time we will be choosing another bar for a sunday funday. read more

Went to the Minneapolis location with our family before the Mn United game. The waitress lost my husbands credit card. After a half hour of looking for it they offered us a 30 dollar gift card and a sorry. Hmmm, are we seriously wanting to come back to use the gift card!? An offer of taking 30 dollars off our bill would have been more appropriate. The manager accused us of being deceitful that we really had the card & that we gave the card to our son who left. They eventually found the card with no explanation of where it was found. After this fiasco we ended up missing half of the United game. Spoke with the restaurant manager this morning and she doesn't understand why I'm so upset when they ultimately found the card & isn't sure what to do about it! Smh!! Literally disgusting. I got sick in the bathroom 5 minutes after eating the minuscule amount of food I could even eat. The manager named Sarah was very rude, complete with eye rolls. The poor server was serving about 100 people on her own. She was literally RUNNING around the restaurant. She was kind and friendly and the only reason for 1 star. The hosts were also friendly. I enjoyed going to this place as a bar until I had to plan a party here. Let me be clear that I would've gone elsewhere right away with how I was treated but my boyfriend really wanted this particular bar for his 30th birthday. I called and emailed their event manager or whatever her garbage title is for three weeks and I ended up having to email the company she worked for to get a response from her. She easily gave me the space which was fantastic. We had 60 people coming and not only did she not respond to any of my emails - she would not give us any food or drink deals even though we were clear that we had a large budget to spend. I even contacted the restaurant because I didn't want them to be blindsided by the food orders of 60 people and they told me they would have her email me about my options. Well as you can guess with her track record I got zero emails and no responses to mine. The party ended up going well even though they were not easy to work with when it came to the bill. Let me be clear on this - we were more than generous. They were unprofessional, unprepared, and an absolute disappointment. Never again. My boyfriends 30th might not be a big deal to this company but it was to us. We spent a lot of money and gave them a lot of service and received not even a shred of organization or respect in return. Isn't that that point of customer service. I had been to Cowboy Jack's in Bloomington, several times and LOVED IT, so I was familiar with their menue, HH prices, and featured appetizers. We arrived prior to the Twins game and was told by our female waitress that it was HH, so an appetizer that we ordered was 1/2 off, I inquired about rail drinks and was told they were $2.00, and wine was $4.00, my GF ordered Sangria wine, and I said I like Tequila, what do you use as a mixer, she said Sprite(?), I thought that sounded rather odd, so I said how about a lime juice, she said lemonade, I than said sure. That still seemed like a very unusual combination and It took forever to get our 2 drinks, FINALLY I got my drink, awful, watered down lemonade, I thought why complain as my friend had not gotten her Sangria as of yet, then after a few more minutes, she came back no Sangria, ok so my friend ordered the house red. About 15 minutes later our chicken sliders arrived, from another waiter who attempted to give them to the 2 gentleman at our table, thank God they said, " NOT OURS!" my friend still did not receive her wine at this time Then we had to eat and run, we ATTEMPTED TO FLAG DOWN OUR WAITRESS, who seemed no where to be found by our table or area. She appeared all of a sudden, dropped off the bill, and then gave my friend her wine. She said OH I took it off the bill. I looked at the bill and noted we were charged $10.00 for the sliders, REG PRICE, $2.00 rail PLUS $1.00 for lemonade what I though but credit for the wine. We were ready to leave and left cash just to get out of there. I attempted to call today, and speak with the manager, and the woman who I spoke with said she was the manager, and that she, "could not hear me, " because the music was so loud on HER END, I asked if she could go to another location that may be quieter, her pat answer, "I need to be upfront," wanted to take down my number and she would call me back, then changed that and told me to call back between 7:00 and 7:30 PM. Sure I said. SO disappointed in this whole experience, and if this is how you resolve a complaint good luck. read more

I would give this place 2 stars for food and 4 stars for atmosphere. It is huge, and clearly the place to go after a Twins game. Three floors, decent service, very lively. I would go back, but just for drinks. The food was, as a whole, not good. I was with multiple people who ordered sliders and either felt sick or would not finish them. The place was a really fun space with a mechanical bull, roof top bar and several other cool spaces. My major complaint was that some of the staff was pretty rude. After waiting for a while for the bartender we asked her for water and because weren't buying anything she completely ignored us and went on to serving other people. I always travel for work. I am in cities for 3 - 6 months so I do get to see a lot of the cities I work in and get to frequent many of the local establishments. I have to say that Cowboy Jack's is top notch! We were downtown to watch NFL Football. Being a New Orleans Saints fan in Minneapolis you have to find a place that has all the games on Sunday. Granted, the Vikings played at a different time than the Saints but the bartenders and staff were more than willing to accommodate our game request. The service was fantastic and all of the patrons were very friendly and fun to talk to about football. It certainly lives up to the "Minnesota Nice" expression that everyone speaks about in Minneapolis! read more

Cowboys Jacks is very appealing to someone who wants to experience a rooftop bar. This particular bar is perfect for pre-gaming before Twins games. Make sure and arrive early though, if you are wanting to sit down. Late night Jacks is a different story. After it hits about 11PM it is nearly impossible to get a drink and the bartenders are not very friendly and waitresses are hard to find. Lastly, Please Please seak help in the music department. It is just horrible for all ages. They should either stick to the theme of the bar and play country or have someone DJ who knows what the demographic age wants. read more

Place is a total joke and the guy working the front counter is worthless. Called twice to find out about making a reservation online and was given an email address to do so. Got there early for the reservation to find out that there were too many people there for the staff to handle so they had given up on keeping track of tables. My brother and I stopped into CJ's for lunch on Friday, Nov. 6th. Our bill was $35 and change. I gave our waitress (Polly), 2 $20 bills and 2 $1 bills ($42). She took the money and then came back a few minutes later with a $20 bill, a $5 bill, and 2 $1 bills claiming we did not give her enough. I was adamant that I gave her the correct amount plus a 20% tip. She got her manager involved who checked her till and said her till looked fine. I was livid but ended up paying her the difference in the end. That was my first and last time patronizing CJ's. If you decide to go to CJ's, beware of the waitress named Polly because a 20% tip isn't good enough for her. It's probably wise to pay with a credit card as well. Lesson learned! read more

I came here with a couple friends on a weekday before a Twins game. Their special for the day was $2 1/2 lb burgers. My friend asked the server which burgers were included in the special, and she told us all the burgers were included and it was kind of a "build your own burger" deal. I ordered the veggie burger and one of my friends ordered a standard burger with swiss, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and onion. We also ordered 2 shots. She brought us 2 shots on the rocks. When the bill came she charged me full price for the burger and said it wasn't included in the special. She charged my friend $.50 each for the lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and swiss, and she charged us $1 each for the ice that we didn't want! A buck each for ice? As-in, frozen water? If your establishment needs to charge for ice and standard burger additions, so be it, but just make the $5 shot $6 and the $2 burger $4 and call it a day. I'm sure people would still show-up for a $4 burger. I would have gladly paid full price for my burger, but I felt like they were trying to pull one over on us, which is angering. If it wasn't for the bamboozling, I'd give it 4 stars: nice atmosphere, large menu, and decent food. If you go to Cowboy Jack's, be sure to keep your head on a swivel and watch out for random charges on your bill. read more

This is actually my first yelp. We just moved to the cities in MN. We were excited to see there was a local bar that had a cowboy twist. When we got there we def felt just like we were at home. The service was outstanding it was so busy but our server (Amber) was on top of it we didn't feel rushed one bit she took her time with us. it was not omg im busy hurry up service. she informed us of happy hour letting us know about the new Jacks IPA that is made especially for your company., it was fantastic! she informed us of the happy hour specials including her favorites!! she was running around non stop but was still spunky and happy the entire time. i could NEVER do what yall do! i asked her if yalls restaurant had one of those survey's on the receipts or a facebook page that i could write a review on she informed me of yalls facebook page and said that the management also can see reviews on Yelp. i enjoyed yalls restaurant so much i thought while heck why not!
