    Summer specials (July 2026).
    Brian W.

Cracker Barrel is always so on-brand it's hard to complain. Completely kitsch in vibe and all the junk they sell up front, dining area continues the theme but is actually rather comfortable, at least for a meal. The good: service was excellent, food was quick, and food was very affordable. Indifferent: food. Went with one of the summer "campfire" specials. It's okay. The bad: nothing. I mean, it's a Cracker Barrel. You know what you're getting into. Verdict: totally on brand for Cracker Barrel. I don't crave the Cracker Barrel experience very often, but sometimes you just need a dose of kitsch.

Finally had the chance to visit Cracker Barrel for the first time. I want to start out by saying that the place is beautifully done. Loved the country store that you can visit. The restaurant is well maintained and clean. Parking lot is on the smaller side. My family visited for an early dinner around 5pm. I wasn't kind of worried because the restaurant was dead. But we were greeted and seated promptly. Our waitress was great and attentive. The food was honestly just OK. I ordered the southern fried chicken with 3 sides. The chicken was ok. A little on the hard side. I almost felt like they had pre-made it and then fried it again. All the batter broke right off. Bummer. The sides were good. Mac and cheese was great tasting, the hash brown casserole again was great tasting, although it did not look very appetizing. And the mashed potatoes and gravy were good. I did wanna mention ,the brown gravy did have a smokiness to it. it may be more of an acquired taste for some. My wife ordered the campfire beef meal, which, according to the menu was only available for a limited at a time. The flavor on it was great, the portion size was a little bit disappointing. They were only about four chunks of beef and her campfire meal. Along with two corn on the cops and potatoes and carrots. I honestly probably wouldn't return for lunch or dinner, this place may be more known for breakfast.

I got the fried chicken special with 2 sides. It came with a breast, thigh, and drumstick. I was disappointed because I really enjoy their meatloaf and pot roast. I don't recommend the fried chicken. The skin was really hard, and the chicken was so overcooked it hardly had meat only the chicken breast but it was stringy and hard to chew because it was so dry. I don't recommend you spend your hard earned money on the fried chicken special. So far everything else has been good

I celebrated my birthday this past Thursday while visiting family in Bakersfield, and choosing Cracker Barrel was seriously the BEST decision. Such a fun and memorable experience from start to finish! My first visit was just with my mom and youngest sister, we instantly felt how warm and welcoming the atmosphere was. Plus, their gift shop is SO cute. It already had me excited before we even sat down! I ordered the Big Easy steak and shrimp combo with mac & cheese and mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and WOW... everything was chef's kiss. The steak was juicy, the creole shrimp were super flavorful, and those complimentary biscuits? Warm, fluffy, and absolutely perfect with butter and jelly. I also got the strawberry peach lemonade, and as a strawberry lemonade lover, I have to say this is easily one of the BEST I've had. So refreshing and packed with flavor! We loved it so much that we had to come back again this time with my more family (my mom, dad, and two younger sisters). On this visit, I went for the crispy homestyle chicken (with mac & cheese and mashed potatoes again), and it did NOT disappoint. The chicken was crispy, hot, fresh, and full of flavor. While I let it cool, I tried the country fried pickles with ranch (my mom's recommendation), and OMG... I'm still thinking about them. Crunchy, tangy, perfectly seasoned--I honestly could've eaten a whole order by myself! Before leaving, I took my time browsing the gift shop again because it's honestly such a fun part of the experience. They have the cutest, most nostalgic finds, and I couldn't leave without grabbing an adorable set of salt and pepper shakers! Across both visits, everything was consistently amazing, and the service deserves a shoutout too because all the worker I encountered were extremely friendly, attentive, and our food came out much faster than expected both times. I officially fell in LOVE with Cracker Barrel after this trip. I already can't wait to come back and bring my boyfriend next time (sadly there aren't any near where I live smh). I'll definitely be dreaming about those fried pickles, and I'm so excited to try their breakfast next time because all-day breakfast is always a win!

Cracker Barrel was quiet the experience for this first-timer; it is well-lit and spacious. I was meeting up with my best friend who was visiting from out-of-state. The server was so kind to wait patiently for us as we took forever to order because we were talking nonstop! After dinner, we browsed the shop adjacent to the restaurant and it is filled with cute and creative items. In terms of food, the portions are reasonable and choice of selection ample. Unfortunately, everything I tried was bland. The one delicious thing was my caramel latte.

This place never fails to make me happy. The food is amazing, whether you choose breakfast option or entrees for a lunch or dinner. Once you have enjoyed a satisfying meal, you can explore their gift shop. You will be sure to find something special for yourself or a loved one. The service and food were both excellent. The interior decor is fascinating, with a unique display of musical instruments, game pieces, tools and vintage photographs.

Service is great, fast and friendly! I was pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness of the pancakes. The plates look a little sad in regard to the bacon and eggs. But can't complain it was a decent meal and a decent price. If you're looking for a new place to go for breakfast, give Cracker Barrel a try and walk off your meal after in their little store!

I have this habit of judging a breakfast place based on their coffee and it's very rare that I'm wrong. This time, I was wrong. We ordered the grandma sampler - The pancakes were fluffy, the eggs cooked as ordered, and the hash brown casserole has to be one of the best sides I've ever had! The portions are huge, this alone fed 2 people. But again, the coffee was a let down, just wasn't strong enough. And the sausage patty was super dry and tough, didn't care for that. Our server was attentive and personable, but not overbearing and the restaurant itself was very homey. The shopping g part of the store was not what I expected, but it had a nice variety. Would definitely come back to try their dinner menu.

This is not pre-bussing or taking care of your guest.

Loved the smell walking into the country store and the super clean restrooms. Our server was on top of everything from timely drinks and refills to getting our food to us nice and hot. Our breakfast was tremendous and for the first time I had loaded hash brown casserole (FANTASTIC!!!). Thank you all for a wonderful dinning experience and a great anniversary.

So good , better than we anticipated. Great friendly service lots of great options. It was our anniversary they gave us a chocolate dessert! Wish we had one in our area, they closed the one in Santa Maria ‍ it was so good and we took two dinners to go , fried chicken w Mac n cheese. Nice country interior design.

I love the atmosphere! It was so bright and open. I found it entertaining to look at the score, but not overwhelming. Our server Scarlett was helpful and friendly. The fried pickles weren't as good as I would have liked, because the batter was too thick, but my 11 thought they were great! They were brought out quickly. The dinner was as well. We all liked the biscuits, nice and buttery. The batter on the okra was much lighter than the pickles and much better! My burger patty really needed some seasoning as did the grits and fries. Hubby's steak was season well. I really want to like the food much more than I do! Service, atmosphere and cleanliness were so on point! The food is just not that great.

This was our first ever time at CnB and it was overall good. Service was nice - and quick - but they didn't have soup (any soup) and also no Apple Strudel! Not something I'd consider normal given it was a Saturday night and their menu is not that extensive.

Man, I use to eat here back in the day. I gotta say that this place is going down hill. The "buttermilk pancakes" were so dry and the hash browns were barely cooked. Our server was ok, nothing spectacular. Cracker Barrel is just a nostalgic gift shop. I will not go back for breakfast. I'll try their dinner menu next

We finally decided to try Huevo House, and with a name like that I was expecting both cuisines, but I wasn't expecting the Mexican flavors to be this good! The menu was a decent size--one side for breakfast and the back for lunch. I didn't look at the lunch side, but the breakfast options were great: plenty to choose from without feeling overwhelming. They serve pozole on Fridays and Saturdays and menudo on Sundays. The pozole was full of flavor and honestly one of the highlights of our visit. Thank goodness we finally found a place that satisfies us both! I ordered the Country Benedict and he ordered the Brunchiladas--both dishes were delicious and came in generous portions. We also tried the Abuelita Latte and the Mazapán Latte. Both were very good, just on the sweeter side, so if you're not into sweet coffee definitely ask for half sweet. Our server was attentive and informative. She took great care of us and even made conversation, which added to the overall experience. Overall, such a good visit. We'll definitely be back!

Their hype was definitely due to the 'aesthetic'. Nothing is really outstanding to me. The drinks are such a let down, the coffee is borderline yuck.. do not recommend. Everything is quite unmemorable. Service is whatever, sometimes mid, sometimes bad. Nothing outstanding. Ambiance.... well... this one has been replicated one too many times. The food is heavily missing flavor, the hummus is disgusting. I can't believe they call that thing hummus, it's an insult to actual dish.. it's almost like it was trying to imitate the real dish, but failed terribly in even attempting to. Their pizza tasted like play-doh and looked very pale. Smitten is at least consistent with one thing, which is their staple: no flavor. One of the breaking points for me was being served food that had someone's HAIR. The restaurant is very expensive for the poor experience they have to offer. I stopped recommending them a long time ago.
