When I saw this place, I was sucked in like dirt in a Roomba. And the first thing I noticed once I was inside was the passion and kindness of the employees. They were just welcoming, they generously offered samples, they were excited to hear that it was my first time there, and they made me feel at home! This place specializes in bundt cakes. You know...those cakes with the ring shape. I had samples of everything and I enjoyed their double chocolate cake and their carrot cake. They're liberally frosted and they're simple, but done well. The other cool thing is that if you're willing to put down a few extra bucks, then they thoughtfully wrap and decorate your cakes. Take a look at the pictures to see what they've done for people. That type of thoughtful decoration is a nice personal touch. The service is definitely 5 stars. I'd definitely come back and I enjoyed my cake. The cakes were moist and they offer many classic flavors. The reason that this isn't 5 stars is because these cakes were enjoyable, but not extraordinary. The reason I'd come back would be if I wanted a classic flavor (vanilla, chocolate, carrot) with a unique, custom decoration with personal touches. I'd also like to see more flavors. They don't have to be trendy flavors that we see in cupcakeries. That route would be a mistake for them, as it's not their style. Super creative with their bundts here. I ordered the Twilight birthday cake for a semi-fanatic Twilight fan and the cake was beautiful! I ordered the 2-3 servings. At first, I thought the size of the cake compared to the decoration on top didn't seem to be proportionate. It actually made me think that I should have order the next serving size. However, the chocolatey chocolate chip flavor was scrumptious. And as it turned it out, everything worked out well. On the site, it's listed as $19.50, but I was charged $19. The shop is so sweet and colorful. I ordered over the phone and the person who took my order was super sweet which made the experience very simple and seemless. I picked up the cake the next day. Putting aside the major "cheese" factor of these cakes, they're actually kind of cute. I bought a golf themed one for my bf's father a few days ago for his bday. They decorated the bundt cake with huge blue, green, and plaid ribbons, an actual golf ball on a tee, and a miniature golf bag.. and stuck a golf flag on it that reads "happy birthday." The girl working there offered me "witty" messages like "happy birdie" which was way too cheesy even for my corny self.. so I stuck with the traditional. Service was ok. I placed the order and paid on the spot.. and told them I'd pick it up in a few days. When I called, they told me they had taken it apart because I didn't come by. I thought they should've called me at least before doing that. But in the end the cake turned out pretty cute, and my bf's dad enjoyed it very much. First and foremost, the cakes are delicious. That's the most important thing about a bakery. I've tried the red velvet, chocolate, lemon, and carrot, and all were killer! I usually buy a cake that's usually good for one person and I personalize it with a message and some colorful ribbon. Because I bought it for the people who work for me, I usually select the school's colors and have little messages like, "It's been great soaring with you." I'm cheesy myself, so doing cheesy things in addition to the cheesy decorations makes the, "Are you serious?" comments pretty funny. If you just want to taste the dessert without the ribbons and glitter, you can! They have all the samples available for purchase and the cakes are really sweet. The people behind the counter are always willing to provide a corny message, but they also have the already made quotes for you as well. Never had a bad experience, everyone's always really polite and attentive. Honestly, probably one of the best customer service I've experienced anywhere. Chocolate chip cake: Awesome. Little chocolate chips in it. Very soft and creamy. Not too decadent Vanilla: vanilla chips, and I think coconut? Also very soft and creamy. Lemon: a little bit of a lemon filling in the inside, but not too sour. Coffee cake: really really good. I can't comment about it because the bf ate the entire thing without me. I know it had coconut in it, and the bf is allergic to coconut but his exact words were "it was worth ot". Prices are reasonable. The "just for you" mini-bundt cake are around $5, and the coffee cake brownie-ish slice was around $3.75. Awesome service, good prices, really good cakes. Will definitely be back. I called and placed by order today. Do not wait or try to leave a voice message if you hear the recording. The phone does not have an answering machine system attached to the line. Just hang up and call back again in a few minutes. I waited less than 5 minutes and I was able to get in. I called in at about 3ish. UNLESS you need the address and reference points as to where they are located. I've been wanting to try this place for a while but never got around to it. Then finally one day they were on Groupon. Woohoo so I thought. I told myself I will buy it after lunch. Lunch rolled around and I forgot. By the time I remembered it was closed/sold out :( Fortunately, they also had a deal on Yelp so I bought that instead. Although the deal was not as great as the one on Groupon, I still saved some money so that is great. Lori was the one that assisted me in making my phone order. As school started and distant learning happened, we found out my son's second grade teacher was having a birthday the first week of school. We stopped by Creative Cakery to pick up some sweets for her and the school staff. I didn't know what she liked since it was the first week of school. With the wonderful staff there, they picked out the best flavors for cupcakes and then did a mix of cookies. I waffled between the bites and cookies, they recommend the cookies for the school staff. They have a great set up during Covid. Since we didn't place an order in advance, we waited outside and my son enjoyed a delicious brownie. I am sorry I have to give only one star. Please note that I love the Creative Cakery Cakes. My one star is in response to my experience in their store today. I picked up a small cake to be given as a gift. It looked cute as usual with the bow on top, birthday message, and pink box. When I asked for a bag, I was told they didn't have any. So, in these times of concern about Covid 19 and germs, I had to leave their store with a propped open box of food (ie. cake). I didn't have a bag myself so I was forced to walk into work with exposed food and eventually present the gift to my friend, explaining they did not have a bag. Again, I am very sad about this and about my experience today. If you use Creative Cake, remember to bring your own bag or you will be walking around with exposed food like I did. read more
