We celebrated my friend's 40th birthday at Crown Block. It was delicious!!! We started off with a welcome drink. We love a welcome drink. We had a little wait so we ordered a drink from the bar. I ordered the angels and devils it was so Delicious. Perfect amount of everything and go the party going. We ordered a few items we got the porter house steak, the fries, and asparagus with the side trio. Everything was so good. We were sad the restaurant no longer rotates. Our server was from New York I do not remember his name. He had great service. Great restaurant with amazing views and service.
Some restaurants serve a great meal. Others create an evening you remember long after the last bite. Crown Block surprised me by doing both. Their recent 4th of July post on IG caught my attention, especially the grilled steak with fireworks, so I made a reservation for Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. Quick tip: The restaurant is still very busy on Sunday evenings, so be sure to make your reservation several days in advance. The location can be a little tricky to find. After exiting I-35, you'll encounter several intersections and freeway exits with numerous stop signs, so drive carefully. Valet parking is complimentary, and I highly recommend using it. Just be sure to have some cash available to tip the valet. It's well worth it instead of spending 10 minutes searching for public parking and walking to the restaurant. Upon checking in downstairs, the receptionist warmly welcomed me with a complimentary Texas cocktail called Ranch Water. As the elevator climbed higher, the view became absolutely breathtaking. Atmosphere: After another warm greeting from the hostess upstairs, I was seated at a bar table by the window. The sun still filled the dining room with beautiful golden light from about 6:45 to 8:30 p.m., creating a stunning sunset view. It almost seemed surreal that one restaurant could have such stunning views while executing both classic, modernized Japanese sushi and premium American steak so exceptionally well. The culinary journey started with the nigiri. Unlike many other places where Japanese sushi is prepared by Vietnamese or Korean chefs, the sushi here was prepared by an authentic Japanese chef, Kesao, as I later learned from the staff. The sequence of flavors started from the lightest on the left and progressed to the richest on the right. Every bite was full of surprises--the delicate flakes of crispy salt that melted on the tongue, the yuzu, and the other sauces delicately placed on top of the sashimi, along with the Hokkaido uni (and a few other varieties whose names I couldn't identify)--felt like a symphony on my palate that comforted me and brought happiness to my inner child and soul. The entrée course began with the lobster soup, decorated with fresh, aromatic steamed lobster meat and garnished with fresh, unfamiliar herbs. (I wish I knew their names, but the ingredients were way too exotic for an average person like me.) The soup was so delicious that I quietly devoured every spoonful. Here came the rock star of the evening: the steak, prepared by Chef Schlicht. The exterior had an incredible crust with the perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. The knife glided through the steak with almost no resistance. Every bite had a crisp, caramelized crust that gave way to a perfectly tender center. I couldn't quite identify the seasoning, but both the flavor and texture made me slow down and savor every moment until the very last bite. It is satisfying--it simply made my day even better. The fresh vegetables and herbs, paired with Greek yogurt and spices, complemented the steak beautifully and elevated every bite. I chose a dry red wine recommended by the waitress because I was completely intimidated by the three extensive wine menus on the table. She made the perfect recommendation, although I wish I could remember her name so I could thank her personally. The evening concluded with a blueberry yuzu sorbet as my happy ending to the night. It was perfectly balanced. The blueberry yuzu sorbet was like pressing a reset button after the richness of the steak--bright, cold, and wonderfully clean. and full of citrus flavor. The layering of flavors and flawless execution created a dessert unlike anything I've tasted before. The Amazing Mule mocktail was another highlight. It was refreshing, flavorful, and an excellent non-alcoholic option for anyone who needs to drive home. The only aspect that could be improved was the restroom area. There wasn't clear signage indicating where guests should line up, nor was there a staff member available to direct traffic. As a result, some guests waited in front of the elevators while others lined up near the service station, occasionally getting in the way of employees delivering food. As I rode the elevator back down, I realized I hadn't just enjoyed dinner--I had experienced one of those rare evenings where every detail, from the skyline to the final spoonful of sorbet, seemed carefully orchestrated. Crown Block isn't simply a place to celebrate a special occasion; it becomes part of the memory itself.
We came here for dinner on a Friday night. One thing I want to flag right away, do not walk here on a Friday night. It is not the safest route, especially coming from downtown. Get an Uber or drive yourself. The location is stunning. Views are beautiful, atmosphere is very classy, not loud at all. We were there for dinner and got to watch the sunset from our side, which was gorgeous. They did remove the blinds in the middle of our dinner to open up the views, which was a nice touch. They started us off with a welcome drink, a tequila based mix of something. Not my favorite but a nice gesture. Cocktails we ordered ourselves were delicious. Service was great. Our waiter was very nice, very animated. Personally I prefer to be left alone a little more but that is just my preference, nothing against him at all, he did a great job. The bread was a little stale and lukewarm. For a restaurant at this level that is something worth improving. It comes from a bread station near the entrance on the left side and it was clearly not freshly warmed. Food was very good though. I had salmon with crab stuffing which was delicious. My husband had a steak that was cooked well overall but one side was better cooked than the other and the middle was a little cold. Still edible, still medium, just not perfect for what you are paying here. We both had hash browns which were great. This is not a cheap restaurant and we knew that going in, so the expectations are higher and the steak could have been more consistent. Quality food, quality ingredients, beautiful setting. We would come back. Not an everyday place for anyone but absolutely worth it for a special occasion. P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not, the stars reflect that.
Overall worst experience at a restaurant i've ever had. The smell of sewage in the lobby should set your expectations because it was shit. Food was bland and everything needed more salt. The lobster gratin was overly fishy and either not fresh or overcooked. The mac and cheese was good the asparagus and mashed potatoes both needed more seasoning. We ordered the lamb medium rare but it came out medium well. The steak was boring and the added Chimichurri was nothing more than parsley and oil. The gnocchi we got was 75% mushrooms and 25% gnocchi. The waiter was practically non-existent, we went at dinner time and they sat us where the sun was blinding me the entire time, ruining our experience. We asked two separate waiters to lower the blinds and both said they would, but neither did. When I expressed that the sun blinding me was ruining our experience the waiter asked what he could do to help and i asked him to take the cheapest item, a burger, off the tab and split the checks, he said no problem. We received the check all on one and the burger wasn't removed. Then I asked again, and again he said sure, the next bill was split but he still did not remove it from the bill and he blamed the manager, it seems like nobody is willing to take accountability. Additionally, there is automatic 18% "service fee" added to the bill, I'm still trying to figure out what was "serviced" since they couldn't even lower the blinds. I would have had a better night anywhere else but here. Don't waste your time or your money here.
My family came here for a birthday celebration. The restaurant was very elegant. Our server Edger was pleasant, professional and helpful. Answered all our questions and gave good suggestions. Lesson learned was that still water means bottled water and it cost us $9.00 a bottle. The food was presented wonderfully and tasted good. Would be 5 star, but the price.
My family came here for the first time for a graduation celebration for my brother and had a pleasant time. The restaurant was decorated nicely for Christmas and had a warm, low light atmosphere. Our waiter was attentive, explained every menu in detail and our waters were topped up often throughout the meal. My brother first tried some salmon nigiri, and said the salmon was high quality. I got the Pork Tomahawk, and it was very good. It could have been a bit more moist, but I found it enjoyable. For sure indulge in one of the sauces if you get it. My partner got the lamb rack. He raved about the tzatziki style sauce and found it very enjoyable. My mom got the salmon dish from the mains, and said it was the best salmon she'd ever had. My brother got the real standout, which was the (I think) Kansas City striploin. One of the best steaks I've had in my life for sure. Cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. We all shared an Apple dessert that was lovely, especially the high quality ice cream that came with it. Kindly, the restaurant also brought out a complementary special occasion dessert of cake pops and cookies. Overall, you may note that the prices are steep (and I agree), but this is very much a special occasion style place. I would return for another occasion like a birthday or anniversary in the future, but not for anything day to day.
After having such a wonderful experience last time we decided to come back here for my birthday. This experience was nothing like the one before. We were about 10 minutes late for our reservation because of traffic. We tried to call the restaurant 3 times to let them know and there wasn't an answer. When we got there we told them we had been trying to call to let them know about us running behind. She brushed us off and said "oh we were really busy." When we got off the elevator you talk to the next host/hostess for your reservation. Because we were a little late the gentleman let us know that we had 2 options. We could get the table he had booked for us but we would have to be finished in a certain amount of time or they could put us at a different table. We chose to get a different table so we wouldn't feel rushed. Our server was lovely. She was patient with me and my indecision about almost everything. SHE IS THE REASON THERE ARE STILL 2 STARTS. While the food looked good. Almost everything came out wrong. Under cooked or it just tasted nasty to us. I appreciated their effort for trying but this wasn't the best birthday meal.
Prefect spot to start our Dallas weekend. My husband always wanted to eat here and now he gets to take me! A great date night. Before the elevator ride to the top I was offered a tequila ranch water. We were seated at our table. My chair felt a little low for the table. But still a great set up. My husband had an old fashioned to start. We got wine to go with our mains. For the table they gave us Japanese milk bread. Very good. To start we... the menu is huge! We got the oyster Rockefeller and we both had the delicious lobster bisque. But for the price you pay I wished I got more than two lumps of lobster in my soup. But it was still good. Our mains. Was sushi. We wished there was more to the main than the small portions we got. Good thing we did two appz. But we could have done with some more... So needless to say we had to get dessert. I indulged in the turtle creek peanut butter bar. A little dense and perfectly paired with my light main option. My husband got the caramel basque cheesecake. Wow! Yummy So glad we got to experience the Crown Block together. We could reserve this as a nice date night.
This has become our kids favorite birthday celebration spot! We went a couple of weeks ago for just a celebration. We were greeted with a ranch water before the elevator ride at the lower lobby. The staff is always super friendly and attentive. The service is always top notch and the food can come out fast (almost too fast at times!). We've had drinks, the tuna cone, the chicken nugget app, the burger, the popcorn shrimp, gnocchi, and mac and cheese. Everything has always been tasty. The spot is $$$$ but you should know that before showing up. The burger was a little on the dry side but all the other food was very tasty. They have an extensive wine collection and the ambiance is outstanding. Make sure you ask for a window table to enjoy the amazing views!
Being a Vegas local I instantly thought of our restaurant at the Stratosphere when I heard about Crown Block. That being said I needed to come give it a try. I came here for a pre dinner drink + appetizer but I wish this could have been my main stop for the night. There were so many options to choose from on the menu it was hard to decide, but the shrimp is definitely a must! You definitely get the NYC feel as you overlook all of the tall buildings while enjoying great cocktails. This has to be a place to try when visiting Dallas.
I mean what can I say view was nice, our server was amazing, he was cool. But , Our tuna cones were warm (it's raw fish) and tasted of nothing. The Cesar salad was not good/ bad bitter no flavor. They dropped half our oysters on the floor and the were mangled when they got us new ones. A few things I ordered did not come out when they were supposed to, they forgot a few things with our mains and apps. So people at the table had to wait to eat. The mains were actually not hot , came out almost cold, and we waited AGAIN as our staggered desserts came out. Just bad performance, kitchen needs help. Would not go back for the food. Maybe for the view , maybe, which is how I think most people will feel leaving here. Strive for a better guest experience. Don't think the owners care.
My family and I visited Crown Block for my father's birthday and left with full hearts and even fuller stomachs. While some might assume a restaurant with such a view is a "gimmick," Crown Block proves exactly why it's featured in the Michelin Guide. We started with the large Seafood Tower, which was well worth the price. It featured a fresh salmon crudo, delicious East Coast oysters, and a top tier of jumbo prawns, lobster tails, and crab claws. For our mains, we shared the Cowboy Ribeye, Porterhouse, Lamb Rack, Branzino, and Green Circle Brick Chicken. While everything was excellent, the Cowboy Ribeye was the standout--seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection. The ambiance is lovely; it's dimly lit with elegant table lamps, allowing you to fully enjoy the Dallas skyline. This was my second visit to the Crown Block. The first time, was not as positive of an experience for food, price point, ambiance, and views. If I had left a review back then, it would've been 1 star. This second time was so much more noteworthy. Our server (I believe his name was Elijah) made the night even better. He was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring our glasses were never empty. Overall, my family and I were really happy this second go and will definitely be back!
We went here for a Christmas party and let me just say, it was the best decision we made! The food was good.. they had a variety of meats, we really liked the brisket, chicken was okay.. the sides were great! Potato salad, Caesar salad, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, corn bread! All of these were so good! Also, since we don't drink alcohol we asked if the bartender could make us a nonalcoholic drink and they agreed! They made us amazing mocktails, both different each time we went for it! They said they just make it then and there, so creative! We really enjoyed that! Alsooo the servers were quick to refill and take the plates away from the table when we were done! Anddd it was SPINNING!! Very slowly though but it was! Overall a very enjoyable experience!

Crown Block is an amazing restaurant for its view and dining area. The crab cake was amazing, burger was okay, fries were really good. The 3 stars are more for the service than anything. Regardless there is an automatic 18% gratuity and if you're in a party of 6 or more then it's 20%. So you would think the service would be top notch. I had to ask multiple times to get my water refilled and it took over an hour to get my check. Finished eating around 8:45pm and didn't get my card back until 10:15pm. I was part of a group of 8 people, entire table spent over $1,000 and we all left feeling like they forgot about us. Don't feel like they earned their 20% gratuity. read more

The view from the top was incredible! However, the downtown Dallas skyline was only visible on the left side of the restaurant, so keep that in mind. On the right side, we had a view of the freeway instead! We kicked things off with shrimp tempura, which was absolutely delicious. It was tossed in a flavorful sauce that left us wanting more -- so tasty we almost ordered another round! Next, we shared a Caesar salad, which they kindly split in half for us. For our main courses, my husband went with the Kansas City steak, cooked medium rare. He kept commenting, "This is a great cut of steak!" I had the Wagyu burger and fries. The Wagyu was, of course, fantastic, but the burger only came with cheese. The fries were a bit too thick, more like eating chunks of potato than actual fries. To finish, we had drinks that were just okay. In the picture, you can see the Paper Plane cocktail -- it was decent but nothing to write home about. I had a spicy margarita, but unfortunately, it wasn't spicy at all. Honestly, we've had better cocktails elsewhere. Overall, the service was good, and the food was decent. It's definitely a cool spot to check out once, especially for the view, but we may not be in a rush to go back. read more

Underwhelmed overall, arrived at 4:45 for our 5pm reservations and were told at 5pm we would be let up the elevator. The waiting room is bare bones, 1 sofa and 2 little seats, luckily for us we were the only ones waiting but I can't imagine as the night goes on how awkward the wait could be. Also watched a lot of the kitchen staff go up and down and the elevator had a little stink to it. At the top, there were 3-4 hostesses, they kind of leaned around the host stand and said you hoo over this way. They walked us straight into the suns path so we could not enjoy the views. We were literally the only table there. I thought oh well we spin so the sun won't be in our eyes the entire time. Whoops, the restaurant stopped spinning in 2023. So tell me why for about $100 a person it's okay to seat us there? Anyways, I knew this was a steakhouse but I had no idea there wasn't a kids menu. Okay my girls love steak so they shared a $72, 16oz sirloin. I guess we just aren't fancy enough because these steaks are different. The texture is more like a solid stick of butter than meat. Is this what aged steak is like, I guess? Idk... but the texture made me gag lol, guess I'm just not high class. Shrimp scampi was ehhhh, it was more like a tomato-ey sauce than a butter sauce and my girls wouldn't eat them. $21 for 3 slightly over cooked shrimp as they were rubbery. I'm a lobster bisque fanatic and this $21, one was bleh, honestly didn't have much flavor or much lobster. Normally I'll pretty much lick the bowl and this one I left some. That's all I got for my meal too. Desert was the highlight, the cotton candy was so airy and light it was delish! I didn't see the gold flakes on it but you could see them floating in the sun. It was about $15 which I thought was fair. The donuts were not anyone's cup of tea. Our service was great, he did seem a little annoyed maybe because it was 2 little girls and me, assuming this was knowing his tip would be less than a normal 4 top. Got the check it was $198, seemed a little high so I went to look at the receipt and they auto added the gratuity, I was shocked for a 3 top? I'm so glad I checked as I had already signed and given him like a $38 tip! Overall I highly recommend skipping this. The one in San Antonio I took one daughter too and she loved! The floor still rotates in SA, they have a kids menu, and it is still higher class but has better food. The lobster bisque there is to die for. It's also much taller, my 8 yo pointed that out so I looked it up and she was right about 200 or 250 feet taller. Also, not super strict on the dress code by the time we left we saw about 12 other people, 3 of them wearing jeans with tennis shoes and not like stylish ones. 2 stars because it was just ehhhh, food wasn't great, views weren't great, overall just underwhelmed. Great place to catch up with friends with a few cocktails and a great view. The service was quick and friendly. I haven't been to reunion Tower in well over a decade and was pleasantly surprised to see that the space was still as nice as I remember. read more
The Crown Block Restaurant at the Reunion Tower was a great experience. The ambiance was perfect to celebrate a special occasion or just for a nice date night. The restaurant also had a spectacular view of the city to enjoy while you dine. Service was efficient and friendly and our server even brought out a special surprise for us at the end. The food was delicious and had interesting little twists on common dishes that set them apart from the usual like the pickled grapes in the roasted brussel sprouts or the heirloom tomato salad that almost seemed more like a savory granola bowel but somehow just worked. We started our evening at the observation deck and ended at the restaurant for dinner just before sunset so we got to enjoy the view while the sun was setting and then watch the city light up once the sun was down. Definitely the way to go. The night was delightful from beginning to end. Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Price: $$$ Overall Value: 4.5/5 read more

This was our first time here for Brunch. I was skeptical because our dinner experience was just ok. This brunch was fantastic!! The array of seafood was worth it alone. Along with the buffet brunch, you also get a menu item. I ordered the fried green tomato & my husband had egg white frittata . The spread of pastries made deciding what to choose difficult. I decided on a blueberry spoon cake & mousse. Both were very tasty. The mousse was cream & lite! The service was ok. It took a bit to get our coffee & tea. Our plates could have been removed quicker. The view from this restaurant never disappoints. The music is the perfect volume. Highly recommend Crown Block for brunch! read more
This is a Restaurant on the 55th floor downtown Dallas It revolves around every hour and you get to see the whole city. Let's get into the food we got lamb chops for appetizer, for the meal I got filet mignon with fries and mashed potato, and I drank a mule. Nothing can be the lamb chops if you go there, please make sure you order them. The customer service was really good. We got the birthday treat for free. And they also give us a card that every employee signed, wishing my partner happy birthday. When you arrive downstairs, you get to take a shot of tequila while somebody takes you upstairs to the 55th floor while explaining to you everything about the restaurant I recommend this place in Dallas 1000% read more
I was skeptical to try this place for our anniversary because of the reviews but it far exceeded my expectations!! It is definitely a high end upscale restaurant but the atmosphere, the views and the service is worth the price tag! Our server Ethan was so great!! He definitely made our whole dining experience. Everyone was very attentive and service was exceptional! The food is on the pricier side as expected, you are paying for the views and eating on top of the reunion tower! The dishes we ordered were all very good, we really liked the wagyu beef tartare and the burrata salad the pork chop was soooo juicy & tender! The cocktails were good and the dessert was superb!! I highly recommend trying this place for any special occasion or just a nice date night. We were very happy with our dining experience and can't wait to go back! read more

I loved the complementary valet at the restaurant. Service was phenomenal. You walk in receive a complementary cup of ranch water. Once you take the elevator up you are shown to your table and given complementary bread. While I waited on my friends I had sushi. The view on the elevator and from the restaurant were nice. It was a group of 4 so we split a larger steak and had the sides trio and 2 Caesar salads. The steak was delicious. The Mac and cheese was good. We also had the key lime pie and cotton candy with donuts I would pass on getting the cotton candy dessert and the key lime pie was amazing. I want to come back and visit again for dinner and brunch. read more
The minute you walk inside you get smacked in the face with the scent of sewer and the buildings cold soulless architecture . It's a bit of an awkward set up having to walk down to go up the elevator. It is nice to be greeted by a doorman he and the hostess were the only good customer service we experienced. We were able to make a last minute reservation and I've realized in dallas that is not a good thing. The restaurant had plenty of availability. Food: The only good food was the bread. Which we had to ask for five times to get. Followed by the salads which were fresh and flavorful. We tried the burrata, and arugula and kale. Both excellent. The pasta was bland. The harissa carrots weren't roasted. The mushrooms weren't cooked well either. The fries were cold and bland. The special $30 cake tasted like something from a grocery store. You could get better and for a better price from a Mexican corner store. The food was tragic and the only thing worse than that was the service. Service: We had to ask and remind the server for bread 5 times. The server kept trying to clear the drink menu after we explained we'd like to keep it to order drinks. The server looked at me strange when I asked to have my salad boxed up. We were told we couldn't sub out the gin for vodka in the drink. Which is the strangest thing. We couldn't put in our appetizer order without putting in our entire order and we explained that we were hungry. He offered to bring bread and then we had to ask multiple times. They cleared the bread after I said I'd like to keep it. It was all a series of comical errors one worse than the other. In summary. Save your money. Save your time. Go to Rye if you're looking for good food. Buy the tickets to go up if you want to come for the view. read more
MUST READ EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW... SUPER SHADY!!! If you DO GO... BE prepared. The whole experience is a money grab wrapped in nice scenery. Here's what happened, step by step: "Complimentary" Valet... But Only if You Tip!!! When we called, they said valet was complimentary. When we arrived, it was just street parking in front of the building. The "valet" told us we had to tip her first or she wouldn't move the car literally moved it five feet. Major scammy vibes right away. It's clear this isn't valet at all, just an upselling gimmick. You keep your key, and when you leave, your car is just there...no valet in sight. DOUBLE STANDARD DRESS CODE My friend wore ripped jeans and was asked to change. Thankfully he had his luggage in his car. He quickly swapped into a clean, high-end white set with nice shorts that were definitely not casual. Then they claimed his shorts were "too casual" and said they'd have to ask a manager. Meanwhile, a woman in RIPPED JEANS walked right in with no issue. We stood there waiting while they debated if he was "acceptable," even after seeing the obvious double standard. Eventually, a manager "made an exception." Completely stressful and unfair. Rushed Service After Their Own Delay Due to the dress code fiasco, we weren't seated until 9 PM, an hour before closing. Our server started off friendly but quickly became pushy, constantly reminding me the kitchen was closing and saying, "You have 60 seconds." My friends ordered but I had a difficult time choosing an entree as I am a pickier eater. When I said I'd skip the entrée and just enjoy my sides, he insisted I order more. It didn't make sense...if the kitchen's closing, why keep pushing me to order? It felt like he was just trying to sell as much as possible and rush us out. Misleading, dishonest server... So... I finally decide on what I want. I asked what kind of chicken came with the gnocchi, and the server said it was a piece with skin and bone, like a leg. I asked if they could substitute grilled chicken breast instead. Suddenly, he changed his story: "Oh, I mixed it up. The chicken you can add on (for an extra $15) actually is grilled breast." It wasn't. What showed up was clearly rotisserie style chicken, skin and all. He clearly switched up the story just to upsell me, hoping I wouldn't notice. When I pointed it out, he even claimed he "saw the kitchen grilling it," which is actually insane...like I wouldn't know the difference between grilled chicken breast and rotisserie? Thankfully, my friend stepped in, and they eventually took it off the bill...but the whole thing felt shady, dishonest, and insulting. Final Thoughts The view is gorgeous. Everything else felt shady, inconsistent, and unnecessarily stressful. Despite having a reservation, we waited 30 minutes to be seated and only got one hour of rushed dining. They'll charge you for valet that isn't valet, enforce dress codes selectively, and upsell you on food + be dishonest about what you're getting to sell more. Come for the photos, grab a drink, then eat somewhere else or just get the tickets for actually just viewing the tower. read more
Crown Block is a restaurant that sells its vibes and view more so than the food itself because for such a fancy restaurant, the food was pretty subpar flavor wise. When you first walk in you'll get a complimentary ranch water as you wait for the elevator to go up the restaurant. Once you go up, a host will greet you to your table. All the servers were very attentive and were quick to refill your water and take empty plates away. We ordered drinks, appetizers, a main dish, and dessert, and it took a really long time for each course to come. I got the scallop dish and the scallop was actually cooked to perfection, gotta give credit where it is due. However, it was definitely lacking flavor wise. Visited this place while in town for the SZA concert and had to try the crown block. It was a bit pricey, $80 per person with added gratuity but worth it. I would recommend and visit again. Went there for our birthdays. The place is gorgeous. The food is fantastic. We had meat. The service is impeccable, all very friendly and nice. We got a birthday card and some sparkers with the dessert to celebrate us. The view and the vibe are elegant and romantic. Will surely go back. read more

First- I spoke to server at the time, but they disregarded my request. Second, I messaged restaurant via Open Table and received no response. So- our service was friendly, but for a $600+++ dinner for 4 it should never be chili's level service, with plates being removed while still eating. ESPECIALLY after I requested they not do that after appetizer course. I felt rushed and it was a disappointment. Unless a guest requested this restaurant, i would never return nor recommend it to anyone. read more

Absolutely Amazing Anniversary/Birthday/Promotion Dinner! My partner Jason and I came to Crown Block for our anniversary dinner, and let me just say--this place did not disappoint. Despite showing up 45 minutes late due to traffic, accidents, and just living far away, the staff was still incredibly kind and accommodating. We were worried about the dress code, but honestly, business casual or even nice jeans and a top would be totally fine. The atmosphere was lively with families and kids around--and they were all well-behaved! Now, let's talk about the food and service--both were excellent. The view and ambiance were absolutely perfect, making the whole experience even more special. I devoured my chicken veggie pasta, and Jason made it through most of his massive cut of meat. We also enjoyed a bottle of wine, espresso martinis, and every single dessert we could get our hands on--and yes, they were all worth it. A huge shout-out to our amazing waitstaff, who went above and beyond to make our night special. We even asked them to write their names on our receipt so we could give them the recognition they deserve... and then I lost the receipt. I'm beyond frustrated with myself because they absolutely deserved the shout-out, more tables, and for everyone to request their section for the best experience possible. Would we go back? Went here for my boyfriend's birthday. To start off, make sure to park Valet if you want them to validate it. My mistake was to not ask and we ended up parking at the Reunion tower parking which was $10. Going up the elevator to the restaurant had such an amazing view. Make sure to videotape it while going up. He ordered the Filet mignon which was very tender and juicy. And paired with the red onion marmalade was perfect. I ordered the green circle chicken which was pretty good. The sides we got were the mashed potatoes which was very creamy, if you're into that. The triple cooked fries wasn't all that great. It just tasted like over fried fries and was very few for $16. And the Mac & cheese waffle had the cooked cheese taste, which was interesting to eat. They also sent over a birthday plate with 2 cookies, 2 cake pops and a sparkler. Our waiter Jake was also very friendly. And the vibe when we walked in, to the view of Dallas was worth the experience. Definitely a place to visit for a fun, fancy night in the city!! read more

Understand that I'm rating this as a high end place. If you're going to charge these kinds of prices, I expect an incredible experience, this one was just ok. We were coming for our anniversary and they had the entire staff sign a card for us, which I appreciated. It was a nice touch. The food: again, I'm not comparing this to even a really good streak place. It better blow my mind. And it really didn't. The Japanese waygu was incredible. The salmon, I've had better. The sides, the carrots were great, the onion rings were pretzel crusted, had some pretty good flavor, the mashed potatoes were a disappointment. They promised super buttery flavor, and they were just regular Yukon gold. We split a dessert and it was delicious. The staff was friendly. They did seem to disappear at times. I'm sure some of that was to let us enjoy the dinner, but they never asked if we wanted additional cocktails. Our view of the city was outstanding. I'd love to come back and catch a sunset from here. Overall, it was a good experience. I'd come back for another special occasion, but wouldn't make it a place to go more than that. read more
My husband's birthday was on a Sunday this year, so we decided to celebrate it by going to Crown Block for their Sunday brunch. We had never dined here before, but felt the service was top notch from the time we arrived and went up to the restaurant in the elevator. Nothing felt rushed and we completely enjoyed ourselves. The view is outstanding, especially on a sunny day! We shared a cozy booth where we were both facing the city view and it was perfect. My husband ordered the sliders as his entree and I went with the chicken and waffles, but after previewing the buffet on our way to the table, I had no idea how I was going to enjoy myself at the buffet along with a full entree. So, I asked our server if it would be possible to box up my entree to take home. She was happy to accommodate. I was so pleased! My husband loved the sliders and the unique fries that accompanied them. He also indulged in my chicken and waffles for breakfast the next day and said they were delicious! Just want to point out that they do not offer full breakfast fare (eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.) on the buffet. They do have plenty of breakfast pasties though if that is your thing. I went straight for shrimp, oysters and sushi. I also tried some of the turkey and roast beef from the carving station. Overall, everything was exceptional. I'm taking one star away though because the buffet lacks veggies and side dishes to go along with the meats from the carving station. My husband also pointed out he would have liked to see a pasta dish or two on the buffet as well. We ended our brunch with tasty desserts. The chocolate banana cake was out of this world! I also loved trying a variety of brightly colored and festive macarons and my husband and I made a game out of guessing the flavors. All in all, a very nice place to celebrate a special occasion and we will definitely return again! read more

Beautiful beautiful place!!!!! View is out of this world!! Servers were so nice and patient. I loved all of the sushi we got; California roll, wagyu tartare aburi, and the summer roll I believe. Only complaint is that the salmon steak was not worth the price... Tasted so very plain... But that's all really. If you're going here, the tempura rock shrimp is a must!!! It may not look like much but it's out of this world, crispy and saucy and tender all at the same time. This restaurant is a must try for anyone visiting Dallas!!! read more
This dining is an experience. We were well taken care off by our waiter, the views were amazing, and the food was great. It is expensive here, but it is for a special occasion and you pay for quality. We got complimentary ranch water with casamigos when arriving. You also have to ask for the free bread but it's so fluffy and cheesy- it's a must! We got 2 sunset sours ($15) and a dirty martini ($20). The sunset sour was super tart and subtle- great drink! The pork chops ($39) were huge and well seasoned. I got mine rare and they did it perfectly. Definitely best bang for your buck. We got a flight of sides ($33) and it comes with 3 options. We got the fries, onion rings, and broccolini. The fries were huge and you can actually taste the potatoes. Onion rings were ok (I'd swap it) and the broccoli was super smoky if you're into that. I think if the side options were better I'd give this 5 stars versus the 4. If I'm going to be honest, this was an extremely disappointing meal. The service was impeccable. The ambience is spot on. It's really beautiful to look out and see downtown Dallas but the food was not good. I got a martini, it was just OK. I forgot the name of our appetizer, but it was tasteless hummus, unseasoned onion dip, and strangely flavorless pickled vegetables. My petite sirloin was cooked well so that's a plus but the brussels sprouts were absolutely horrendous! Completely unseasoned and burnt. The mac & cheese was also tasteless and the triple fried french fries were just OK. We did get dessert and honestly that was the best part of the meal. Keylime pie with meringue was perfection. I have been to all the restaurants at the Reunion Tower for over 30 years. This was my first time visiting it as Crown Block. The entrance now seems crowded with a seafood section. I like the glass wall wine rack and the bar- super chic. The seating looks cheap and doesn't have the classic flair it's always had. The floor must've broke as it no longer rotates- that was embarrassing for me as that was the reason I took out of town family. The view will always be stunning. The food- BLAH. The menu is overpriced and not well thought out. The presentation was below Dallas standards that I even forgot to take pictures of. Drinks were strong and tasty. Staff were welcoming and attentive. It's be Elizabeth Blau's and she's impressive. She's responsible for the Bellagio, Wynn and The RainbowRoom in Rockefeller Center!
