Service and food were good! I think the price is a little high, but I definitely recommend getting their version of the pick 2 so you can try more things. It's a nicer sit down fast casual restaurant. I'd definitely go back, they have a variety of options to choose from!

Order at the counter, pay at register, seat yourself. I had the Cobb salad - it was a generous portion and flavors were good, but because they fill the bowl and then cop it all together, the texture was a bit too uniform for my taste. I prefer finding a chunk of egg or a full leaf of lettuce rather than having everything chopped into small, even tiny pieces. Some folks do like chopped salad and if that is you- this is a great spot! The Mexican street corn appetizer was creamy and well spiced. The accompanying tortilla chips had a unique flavor. Overall, ingredients were fresh, items were prepared immediately and service was quick!

The service was fine for a cafeteria seat yourself restaurant. We went there after seeing the Ansel Kiefer, exhibit at the St. Louis Art Museum. I ordered the pizza and salad combo. The Queen's Margherita half flatbread and cypress salad with a Balsimic vinegerette dressing. Overall the food was delicious but I wish the tomatoes on the flatbread were quartered before being placed on the pizza. The whole slice comes off when you bite into the pizza and all you taste is tomato and the topping comes with it. Basically you are eating all the topping with each section. Not able to enjoy all the flavors on the pizza. The salad was good but with a little too much cucumber pieces. I would recommend but know there are many choices to choose from the menu.

More attention paid to service this time around. Appreciated the attention to presentation. Really makes the food seem to taste better!! Nice vegan options and gf offerings. Comfortable, sociable surroundings.

Sadly, this place used to be much better about 10 years ago when it first opened. We used to go almost weekly to Kirkwood and really enjoyed dining here. You can really taste the decline in quality and the portion sizes are significantly smaller as well. The atmosphere is still clean, with lots of seating, and the service wasn't an issue either. Unfortunately, nobodies food was as good as they remembered. My "Queen Margherita Pizza" was just flatbread with a tiny bit of basil and cold tomatoes on top. The Iconic BLT was decent, but mostly bread. We spent $50 on lunch and left still hungry. The atmosphere and service are still fine, but don't expect good or fresh food like in the past. I don't think we will be back soon.

Located in kirkwood station this crushed red has good food in line with what you expect from the chain. But where it really shines is the location. Ample parking with two adjacent parking garages and street parking, a great courtyard seating area with occasional live entertainment, or if you prefer to be inside they also have plenty of indoor seating with high tops, booths, regular tables, or whatever you're looking for. Come here for lunch and make a day of it walking over to the Lego store, train station, or farmers markets.

When you walk in, you are greeted by a worker behind a counter. You order your food, and then they bring it out to you. They have alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, and the seating area is quite large. There is also outside seating if it isn't too hot out. The food is on the pricier side for salad and flat bread pizzas, but it's delish!

One of my favorite sports to grab lunch! We used to come here all the time, but for some reason COVID threw us off our game of frequenting! I went to workout on the coldest day of the snow storm that piled in before the holidays, and I really wanted a good salad after my workout! I decided to pop in, and it was totally empty minus the employees! I ordered the Welcome Back Cobber with no tomatoes. It's such a perfect combo of flavors with roasted chicken breast, avocado, bacon, egg, Gorgonzola, croutons, and field greens. They chop the salad parts and then toss it with goddess dressing. Everything is so fresh, and the staff were so friendly. I was thankful they made it in with the storm! I got water to drink, and what I love about CR is that they have fresh lemon and oranges for their water. I truly think that makes a difference! They also have a lot of condiments for pizza and bread, depending on what you order. The booth was clean and well taken care of. They have silverware on the table in mason jars. I was definitely pleased with my visit! Another salad rec I have is the cowpoke! Definitely try it out.

Be prepared to do a lot of work for your food. You stand in line to order the food inside the door. Then you move down a bar to where they make the salad. They ask if you wish anything added or delete from the salad at this point and chop up the salad as you watch. You are handed the salad and then you shuffle down to a cash register where they accept your payment. To my surprise, there was a tip added to the bill that I had to manually change. I really don't have any idea who would be tipping and for what service? Then I was presented with a glass to go fill my soda at another station while carrying my salad. The charge for the soda was high at $3.49 and being self serve. I found it to be a disappointing experience all around. The salad when I finally started eating was just average and the soda I had tasted as if the water-syrup levels needed to be adjusted.

If you are looking for fast casual food with lots of plant based options (meats available also) this is a good choice for you! I had the farmhouse salad which was super yummy along with plain flatbread w olive oil and garlic. The others in my party crafted their own special combo salads suited to their dietary requirements. This is a nice option in our current world of extremely rigid diners. I'm sure a vegan, pescatarian, keto, gluten free, or omnivores could all put together meals here successfully. Service here is order behind a counter pick as you go along. They bring anything being cooked out to your table. They have a nice wine selection if you are looking for an added kick and plenty of interesting non alcohol choices as well. https://crushed-red.com/menu/ you can order online as well.

After living in the area for nearly 20 years, we finally stopped by Sunset 44 while hunting for new…read moredinner spots to visit with friends near Ballwin. It turns out we've been driving past a Kirkwood treasure all this time. This is "upscale-casual" at its finest--professional and refined, but with a neighborhood heart. Service & Logistics The service here is exceptionally polished. From the friendly hosts to our knowledgeable server, everything ran like clockwork. We even had a visit from a gentleman I presume was the owner (likely Bob, who has been at the helm for decades). He didn't just "check-in"--he saw we needed a few items and personally took care of it. Pro Tips: * Reservations: Don't look for them on OpenTable. They use their own dedicated form on their website, which is simple and efficient. * Wednesday Wine: If you can, visit on a Wednesday. They offer half-priced wine bottles with your meal--a fantastic value for their extensive collection. Cocktails & Drinks The bar program here is excellent, and the bartender was friendly and engaging. * White Negroni (4.5/5): Though they may not have had Suze (the drink wasn't perfectly clear), the bartender absolutely nailed the flavor profile and balance. * Barrel-Finished Manhattan (4.5/5): Their use of an in-house barrel finish makes this classically executed cocktail a real standout--highly recommended for whiskey lovers. * Wine: They have an awesome selection. Definitely ask your server for recommendations! The Food: American Fare with a Global Twist * House Salad (4.5/5): You have to try their house dressing--it's a creamy garlic style that reminds me of the classic Mayfair Hotel dressing. It's incredibly tasty and a true St. Louis staple. * Blackened Grouper (4.5/5): As someone who loves Florida grouper, this hit the mark. Lightly blackened with a fresh mango salsa; vibrant and perfectly executed. * Rainbow Trout (4.25/5): The orange tarragon cream sauce is the star. It was perfectly balanced--enough to enhance the fish and rice without being "soupy." * Pilot House Chicken (4.5/5): A delicious, well-seasoned chicken breast. Savory, juicy, and very well-prepared. * Extras (5/5): They start you with lavash crackers and butter, and the hot, fresh rolls are dangerous. They even finish the night with powdered sugar cookies--a classic Sunset 44 touch. Dessert * S'more Cheesecake & Chocolate Martini (4.5/5): We opted for this beautifully executed, unique dessert. It was yummy on its own, but ordering a Chocolate Martini to accompany it was the perfect move. The Vibe: It definitely skews toward a more mature, quiet crowd. It's the perfect place if you actually want to hear the people you're dining with.

It was already getting late so we were worried we wouldn't find one in time, when this spot popped up! Their Happy Hour goes until 6:30!! I was a little nervous for parking in this area, but it's far enough down that we had no issues. We walked in and luckily, two people were packing up at the bar, so we snagged their spots. Happy Hour is limited to the bar area only. I have no idea why I haven't heard more about this spot, and I'm honestly surprised it's not hyped up more! They use a lot of local, fresh vendors for their ingredients, and the spot is very clean and welcoming. The bartender was great all night, he gave top notch service. The food menu looks phenomenal, and they have have a lot of great options on the Happy Hour menu itself. I just got a couple glasses of house wine for a great price and my husband got a couple beers, which even the NICE ones were only $5. Their cocktails looked bomb too, we'll have to come back and try some. The beef tacos had REALLY great flavor, the fries were ginormous, crispy and cooked to perfection, and even the whipped feta was tasty. The bread they served it with was bomb. Such a cool spot, great prices, and super high quality. We will definitely be back.

Tara was great with keeping track of the couples when ordering. I ordered the Butcher Board as an appetizer to share with others. Everyone really enjoyed it, especially the toasted bread. The salami, sausage and Braunschweiger. There was a buffalo chicken terrine that was different but good. Grain mustard aioli and house made pickles rounded out the board. I also ordered a cherry margarita as my first of two drinks. The second one was a Hugo Spritz. Both were ok, not great. I ordered the Tenderloin from the Valentine menu. It came with fingerling potatoes and green beans with a sauce. It was delicious! The beef so tender and flavorful. The meal was superb.
