Amazing food, SUPER weird location. I've had multiple vegan menu items from here and have always been so happy with my meal. I highly recommend ordering to go if you want to eat here. It's connected to a supermarket and it straight up smells like dirty fish when you walk in. Decor is outdated but not a dealbreaker and the staff is very sweet. I absolutely love the food here. They have the best bahmi!! I have tasted bahmi's from coast to coast and none compare to his delicious concoction. The spring (cold) rolls with the peanut sauce are also delicious. This is a small family run business with delicious food. Definetely one of my favorite restaurants. I love their vegan cheesecakes too. This is a 5 star for me due to the guilty free food they make. The business is ran by 2 generations of the family, therefore sometimes there's a language barrier. In search of a restaurant that had food to accommodate vegan and vegetarian diets with actual flavor and this place nailed it!!! The broth was so delicious and did not seem to be as sodium packed as lots of places. My husband, who is a carnivore complimented the tofu...TOFU! We will certainly return. CON: The only portion of the meal that we were not impressed by was the Spring Roll appetizer. Came here because all of the positive reviews. But for the price you pay, I don't believe I received enough for the price. I barely got any food, and it was mainly starch over main "protein." We all left starving still and paid way more than normal restaurants. I didn't realized it was that expensive to put together a piece of tofu and two rehydrated tofu. This place is very similar to Goji but smaller. They have awesome options and I highly recommend the noodle dishes. All are good. The rolls were awesome, too. The staff is very nice and while the atmosphere is not that great the yummy food makes up for it. So cool to go to a place and not have to worry if it's not vegan. read more

Everything we had was amazing. The sweetest old ladies served us our food and three separate women came out of the kitchen carrying the different dishes we ordered. Truly outstanding food and I have pretty high standards since I've recently become vegan. Trying to compare everything to what I've eaten my whole life. D Vegan not hip, not trendy, not even well decorated.. However for all that lacks, what is most important is the food. Which is amazing and raises above many establishments in quality. I've taken meat eaters & vegans also - so far everyone is impressed. Today I ordered to go. I've got my dog at work with me, so no time to sit while 90 degree temperatures. I don't mind though, he's the best company anyway and loves to snack on the broccoli in the dishes! I love the Joy Noodle Soup and D'Vegan noodle soup.. This is the second time we've been here. My boss suggested D'Vegan because my girlfriend is vegetarian and I love Vietnamese food. This place is pure WIN-WIN on both marks! Both times my girlfriend got the pho. It's great - much more like traditional beef pho in flavor profile than the other veggie pho we've tried in DFW area. It has tofu, beef-style seitan (processed in house for an out of this world texture/flavor!), and oyster mushrooms in it for meaty-ness, as well as the usual trimmings (onions, noodles, vietnamese mint and sprouts on the side) in a broth that has all of the right spices and a delightful sweetness from the house-made vegetable stock. I've tried the Bùn Bì Cha Giò, which was very satisfying (especially the veggie fish sauce!) and wasn't chock full of iceberg lettuce like some restaurants make their bun. Tonight I had the Bùn Bò Hue, which is a great vegetarian take on a totally non-vegetarian soup. Traditional Bùn Bò Hue is chock full of beef and pork, but this meatless version does not disappoint for flavor at all! It lacks the heavy greasiness of having animal fat it in, but really, who misses that? Prices are as good as any mom-and-pop Vietnamese place, and the service is so pleasant. The owners are so proud of the quality of their food, the real work that goes into the broths and meat substitutes. This is great food! read more

This was a very unfortunate experience. The restaurant was not clean, and the location is less than ideal (situated next to a meat stand, as a hard core vegan, I already felt nauseous entering the restaurant). I ordered the Udon with "shrimp". There was one "shrimp" in my entire soup, the noodles were slimy, and the lemongrass was brown. I took two bites and could not stomach eating more. I was really excited to try this spot and sadly disappointed. When I asked the waitress about the soup, she told me I didn't understand Korean Udon and if the vegetables were browning, it was not their fault because I was paying for Udon not veggies. She was friendly and apologetic but unwilling to remove the item from our bill. Unfortunately, I left with a bad taste in my mouth, literally. read more

I love this place. Everyone who works there is really nice, the food is amazing. However, if you have allergies or just don't like something in your food, you may need a translating app to explain, as they don't speak much English. I will say though, that I have seen them learn a lot over time. They speak Vietnamese in case you aren't sure. Sometimes you get your appetizer after your meal or with it, but that doesn't bother me. I love all the rice meals, I love that they offer brown rice. The rice meals are great if you want a healthy portion of food and not american-size portions. The crispy rolls (veg "egg" rolls) are great. I have had a few soups and they were all great. The soups are great if you feel the rice meals are too small a portion. I always have to take some to go though :) The seitan strips and little sandwiches are good. My favorite meal is the golden noodle soup. It's made with two kinds of rice noodles if you are allergic to wheat/gluten. The cheesecake is great, my husband loves it. The jerky packets they sell up at the front are also really good. I love their lemonades, teas, etc. They have a good variety of non-soda drinks (they do also offer sodas for those who like them). I haven't tried the spicy options or noodle bowls (the ones without soup)yet, so I can't rate those. The just-tofu rice meal and rice paper crispy rolls are also safe for someone with a wheat/gluten allergy. If you are allergic to soy there are seitan strips, and I believe there is a vegetable noodle bowl/soup. (It's like spiralized veg noodles). read more

My vegan daughter and I stopped in while we were out of town. You actually have to walk through some kind of mini Asian market that had a very strong fishy smell, to get to the actual restaurant, which is closed off at the back. The service was slow. There were three ladies working. The lady that took our order, knew very little English. The other two, did not. One was very nice when she took our payment, thanked us for our business, and sacked up our leftovers. The other lady wasn't as pleasant and had a nasty cough. We did not receive our spring rolls we ordered, even though we paid for them. Unfortunately, we did not know was it until we were 30 minutes down the road. We tried ordering appetizers, but the food all came out at the same time. But the food was good and fresh tasting. There were these containers on the table that had unwrapped silverware in them, that we had to get ourselves, which didn't seem very sanitary to me. read more

This place was delicious! When I walked into the slightly weird strip mall storefront I was immediately out off by the fishy smell of the other restaurants in the same space. Thankfully, D'Vegan was way in the back behind a closed door, so I didn't have to eat with that smell. I would have given this place 5 stars, except they were out of multiple things on the menu already (lunch on a Monday) and the service was a little strange. The food, though, was great. We liked every single thing we got off the menu, including "salted lemonade" which was a new one for us. The crispy spring rolls were especially good. They even sold vegan jerky to go! If I went again I'd skip the cake because it was only okay, but I would definitely go back. Yummy. read more

i love the diversity of mix cultures that come to eat here. its not your typically restaurant, more like a mom and pop style. its ran by a few vietnamese ladies. there are times service is not super fast but everything is amazing. as you enter, just grab the menus feom the counter. i have tried food there that has more favor that places that serve it with meat. rice porridge is my favorite thing to start out with as an appetizer. pho and golden noodles are bother amazing. totally different broth. my husband and i drive from irving once a week to eat here. read more
