Grandma, cheese, & mushroom slices and garlic knots
    Cecilia T.

A friend of mine who loves this place recommended them to me about 7 yrs ago. They have a good selection of specialty pizza, calzones and rolls as well as heros, salads and pastas. Everything I've tried here in the past years have been good, if not, decent. Prices are reasonable and the staff are very friendly. Same price- cash or credit. Although it isn't my favorite pizza spot bc I've definitely had better elsewhere, it is a great choice if you're in the area & craving Italian food. I like their grandma pizza, rice ball and spaghetti but I don't think you can go wrong with any of their pizza :p

Incredible food and service. First time there and we absolutely loved it! The staff was so helpful and attentive. The margarita pizza sauce was perfectly sweet and delicious, and everything was great quality.

I've visited da-Angelo pizza several times and they serve decent pizza at a reasonable price. They have a small selection speciality slices and rolls that are heated to perfection in just a couple of minutes. The restaurant is small but well-kept and inviting. The decor is a mixture of a classic Italian pizzeria fused with wood paneling making it feel like you are also in a cabin in the woods. They have a beautiful fireplace as a centerpiece and a somewhat spacious dining floor. I would not come here with a big party since they only have one large table in the back. The staff is very kind and makes it feel like you are part of their family while you are there. They are quick to take your order but still take their time to talk to you and make friendly conversation. They have a small parking lot but I am assuming that it gets busy during the weekends so you may have to park on the street. The reason I gave this place four stars instead of five is solely because of their pizza taste and quality. Although it is good, I have had better slices in the area and have also had many more options to choose from in local restaurants. I have heard that the dining menu is very good here so I may come back for that, which can possibly change my rating. -------- PLEASE READ: I am starting a new Pizza Review Series in which I will be rating slices from over 30 different pizzerias in my local area in Nassau County, Long Island. I will use a regular cheese slice as a baseline and a specialty slice as added depth to the review. These rating are solely based on my opinion and taste preference so please do not be offended if one of my ratings does not align with your opinion on the pizza. I am excited to have da-Angelo as my first review in this series! #1 da-Angelo Pizzeria Cheese slice: a solid slice with a generous amount of cheese and sauce. Sauce could have had more seasoning. Crust was thin and crispy but a little dry. Not too greasy and minimal oil drip. Overall, I would rate this slice an 8/10. Specialty slice: For my specialty slice, I ordered a white slice. This was a full cheese slice with no sauce but in my opinion, there was too much ricotta and not enough mozzarella. The ricotta was overpowering and it felt like there was too much mush on the slice. There was also no hint of garlic, which would have gone perfect on this pizza. The crust was a little thicker and softer compared to the cheese slice. Again, not too greasy and minimal oil drip. I would rate this slice a 6/10. For more ratings please see my Pizza Ratings Collection on my profile.

We were in the area. This came up with the best reviews and they're not wrong. The pizza was good as was the service, and the place itself is nice inside. Not the best pizza I've had but I think we NYers are loyal to our local places, but it was some solid pizza. If I was ever around that area again I'd def stop by again.

Margarita pizza possibly the best I've ever had!!

It's been a few months since I've been out here. They did a beautiful interior remodel including the bathrooms. Whenever I'm near this part of Long Island I try to stop by. Without a doubt they have the best margarita pizza anywhere! Everyone is friendly, the place is very clean and they have great food. They are set up to deal with COVID-19 and have the interior of the restaurant spaced accordingly with dividers that can be moved. I have been coming here from Brooklyn for about 2 years and would highly recommend them.

Everything I bit into was delicious- felt very authentic Italian which I loved. The restaurant is decorated very nice & my shrimp cocktail- hard to beat! Mozzarella sticks- 5 star- will definitely be back

The best pizza around. The homemade sauce is so good and the crust almost has a sweet pastry flavor. I love this place.

Also, they need to make some of the items on the catering menu available on the regular dinner menu. The fact that I can't order a side of penne alla vodka with a chicken parm plate is a bit ridiculous. If they had a larger menu, we would order from here with much greater frequency. But because the menu is so limited, we have no choice to order from the other place up the block on Mineola Blvd most of the time.

From the moment you walk in, you can tell they take pride in every detail, and that carries straight through to the food. The pizza itself is phenomenal. The crust strikes that perfect balance--crispy on the outside with just the right amount of chew inside. The sauce is rich, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients, while the cheese is perfectly melted and generously layered without overpowering the rest of the pie. Every bite tastes fresh, balanced, and crafted with care. What really stood out was the consistency and attention to detail. Whether you're going classic or trying one of their specialty pies, the flavors are always spot on. You can tell this isn't just pizza--it's a passion. On top of that, the service is friendly, fast, and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. This is the kind of place you keep coming back to--and recommend to everyone you know. Easily one of the best pizza spots around. Highly recommend.

I was driving so I passed on the alcohol. Then we got our individual pizza set ups and a lesson. It was fun! They gave us some toppings, pepperoni, mushrooms and peppers. We made our pizzas and they took them away to be cooked. We then had a choice of salad, Caesar or house. Everyone liked the salad and the dressings. We got our pizzas back in pizza boxes so we could eat some and take some home. Then they came around with a plate of cookies! The owner came over to talk to us, she said that they were planning to have pasta and mozzarella making in the future and told us about the other events that they have. Live music, bingo etc. She was one of the nicest people I've ever met. Sweet and genuine. She also showed concern about the parking situation and offered a reimbursement for the parking garage. We declined that offer, it was only a couple of dollars for the time that we spent there. If I had to be very picky the only one suggestion that I have would be that they add some basil/ oregano/garlic/pepper to the sauce or on the table, the sauce was very plain. Other than that, everything was amazing and so much fun, well worth the price that we paid ($40 pp including gratuities) for everything that we got!

This review is based off the most recent taste of their food that my friends catered. They moved into the neighborhood and hosted a meal from Spaghettini. We tried a bunch of their food, and it did not get a better rating. The best thing I had was definitely the Italian Meatballs, which were tender and quite good. However, the sauce was a bit thin. The Chicken Francaise was pretty decent too, but nothing special. Pizzas were fine, but I did not enjoy the crust on either. Rigatoni w/ Vodka Sauce and Steamed Vegetables were average. The worst was probably the Buffalo Wings. Can't imagine the rest of their menu gets much better, so I'll stick with Taglio nearby.

The broccoli slice seemed like it was going to fall apart but it held together very well, it was also very light in weight but fluffy as can be. I was amazed but found it was the least of the two. Still enjoyable, I finished it. The sausage and peppers, AMAZINGLY delicious! Just enough sauce to keep it moist. Also not a very heavy slice yet really tasty. The strategy here is simple. You order a pie--half pepperoni, half prosciutto. The prosciutto does exactly what it needs to do, but the pepperoni is the real headline act. It curls, it crisps, and it pools just enough oil to marry perfectly with a crust that achieves that rare, holy grail combination of thin, crispy, and subtly chewy. Dozens of pies later, it's still a ritual worth repeating. Food (4/5): The thin, crispy crust is the star of the show, and the pepperoni is dialed in to perfection every single time. It is clean, well-ran, with just enough noise to be lively and fun without being overwhelming or deafening. The kitchen layout is visible to diners and it is always fun to watch how the pizza is made while you wait (but tortorous if you're starving!) The staff is super friendly and attentive from the moment you walk in until they wave you goodbye on the way out. The pizza is OUTSTANDING. They've mastered brick-oven style pizza. The mozzarella and parmesan are always fresh, the sauce is tangy and flavorful, and the crust is TEXTBOOK. As a non-crust eater the majority of the time, I find myself reaching over to my friends plates to do clean-up. Don't overlook any of the apps or calzones either. Things are super filling, however, so I recommend just splitting an order of spinach artichoke dip for the table while you wait for your pizza to arrive. Now being of legal drinking age, I understand why my parents would want a no-kids Grimaldi date time to time. The drinks are great and the bar atmosphere is a blast. I'd recommend checking out their seasonal cocktail specials. Pro-tip: Don't shy away from order a side of vodka sauce with your margherita pizza. Getting the vodka slice just won't hit as good. Also, definitely add the garlic, chili flakes, and extra parm from the shakers on each table to your slice. You don't NEED it per se, but it certainly does take things to the next level.
