We went back this year (when we were kid free) and got peanut dumplings which are still amazing. I was so happy to find they have plant based milk to do a Thai iced tea. We arrived right at opening, and my first impression was the space is much smaller than it appears online. That said, we were the first guests and seated immediately. The restaurant filled up quick! The food was absolutely delicious. Don't overlook their lunch specials; they offer great value and variety. The reason for the 4-star rating is the service. We only saw our server twice: once to take our order and again to collect the check. Our water was never refilled, and I had to get up to request takeout boxes. It was actually a different staff member who brought the boxes and dropped off the check. While the service could use improvement, the incredible food made up for it. read more

Personally, I order from Daisy Mint (DM) about twice a month (sometimes more). Their food is amazing! :) This will be my third review, but this time for a catering request for an important meeting at my job. Daisy Mint did not disappoint. I submitted the catering request about a week out and DM was excellent in getting back to me to confirm my order and make sure that I had all of my selections and needs met. I was super appreciative of the communication on their part; especially the friendliness and assurances that they provided. Our order was delivered right on time. The food was hot, packaged well, and included all the fixings (condiments, utensils, etc.). Also, the gentleman who delivered was super nice and helpful in getting things set up. This place seems like a hidden gem, the interior is very cute and well decorated, it definitely gives me cozy vibes. This service is really good too, they're always attentive to you. I always come back here for the same thing which is the steak salad. The steak has an amazing flavor and the dressing on the salad is delicious, it's a little spicy and tangy with the lime, and of course can't have good thai food without good white rice! Let's start with parking. 3 designated spot in the parking lot at the back of the building and 1hr/2hr street parking around the streets. Smaller restaurant with good customer service. Portions for all items were surprisingly generous. Papaya salad: had basic flavor but wasn't dialed up to the level it should be. It felt like 4 steps short of legit flavors. Very vanilla. Pad Thai: was actually decent, with some complexity. Crying tiger: had it was the sticky rice, which was a good choice. The sauce was the star, and the beef was not chewy or overcooked. (Not spicy, but wish it was) Satay: not the typical small portions of dry breast on skewers. There were no skewers at all. Really good sized breast pieces with classic peanut sauce. However the cucumber garnish/salad was not it. It's supposed to be tart and refreshing but was heavy and sweet. Pineapple fried rice: nice and fragrant, but needed a bit more salt and moisture (rice was clumpy - total no no for any fried rice). read more

I've come to Daisy Mint many times and this review is long overdue. They're pretty authentic thai food and they're allergen friendly. Please do ask them for any gluten free as some dishes that are not marked "gluten free", might be able to be modified. Pad thai is always a good idea and theirs is definitely one to try. Their tom kha (coconut soup) is very delicious, savory and will fulfill your cravings in a cold weather. Salmon curry - very good. It comes with your choice of white or brown rice. Very savory and fulfill your omega with this :) They used to have "Daisy Chicken Wings" which no longer in the menu. It was gluten free and sweet and spicy. Wish they bring that to the menu again. Yummm. One word to describe this place. It's small and intimate inside and the service is nice. The waitress sat us immediately and she checked in on us a few times. They forgot our protein in one of the dishes and the chef provided a nice bowl of chicken on the side. Drunken noodles are typically spicy, but this one lacked spice. I think it has great flavor though, so I still recommend it. Although just make sure to add the whole chili powder container on the side! I loooooveeee papaya salad and this one had extra lime. I think I'm just so used to spice that I asked for Thai chilies on the side to add to the papaya salad. It leveled up the dish for me, give it a shot! I appreciate that they cut up the lettuce on the side instead of leaving it whole like other places. I liked the daisy noodles, but I wouldn't order it again. I think the flavor was good, but not something I'd crave again. It's an interesting dish though! Next time I def want to try their yellow curry and mango sticky rice (unfortunately it's not mango season)! It was about $50 for three items and we had some leftovers, so I think it was worth it. This place is good, solid Asian fusion. It has elements of Thai, Vietnamese and even some Chinese influences, it seems. The curries are solid. I island get green or panang curry with eggplant or similar is my preference. The shaking beef salad is also very good and I do not eat much beef, to be honest. They often have pumpkin (or kabocha squash, if you will) curry, which is really tasty. Service is usually fine, not usually super friendly but typically efficient. The place itself is really cute and looks like a little tea house with fun furniture and delicate tea cups for the good quality loose leaf teas they have. I would recommend this place. One of my favorite go to for Thai food in Pasadena. They are consistently good. The quality, the aromatics spices, the flavor -- it's addicting. The best part is that their ingredients are fresh! My favorite dish of all time is the Panang Curry. It's a great vegetarian dish. There's large chunks of fresh veggies and pumpkin. Drizzle the sauce over rice and it's the perfect comfort food. I've also enjoyed their Pad See Ew, Duck Noodle Soup, and Beef Salad. If you're looking for a healthy but tasty salad, definitely recommend their beef salad. I love the decor of this quaint little restaurant. It's cute, perfect for a date. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I first had lunch at Daisy Mint way back when it opened many years ago and it quickly became a favorite. A local gem that does Thai in a unique, creative yet homey fashion. Everything was always top tier, delicious, and decently priced. I stopped by recently wondering how such a nondescript, hidden in plain view could stay in business so long. One taste was all it took to remind me. The food is better than ever! It's great to see when a place has been around this long and maintained such great quality throughout and even growing. And the ambiance is just so inviting and relaxing. It makes you just want to sit, sip some tea and watch the street view while the servers bring you your meal in a friendly, familiar atmosphere. I was reluctant to go because of the price compared to some other Thai spots. On a whim though the Mrs and I decided to go and were surprised to see lunch specials on a weekend! We have been twice so far and liked almost everything weve ordered. From the lunch menu we have gone twice. Though the service is good inside and you can easily snag a table in the window. I had the pad Thai and was happy for $14. While not the best I've ever had, it was good and the price was adequate. First time here and first time in Pasadena! Came here on Friday around 7 and found the spot and area to be not too busy (if not a little too quiet for a Friday night). Sat down and ordered the Pad Tai with Chicken and Kimchi Fried Rice with Beef. Both came out hot and was more than enough for two people. Good flavor and the meat was not over cooked while the noodles and rice were also prepared well. Although the ambiance of the place was quaint, their drink options are pretty limited in terms of beer and wine. As well, they close early for a Friday night (8:30) and seemed to be in a rush to get customers--including me and my company--out by 8:30. Even though letting us know that they close soon and offering last call on food (around 8:00), when I attempted to order a beer (while still finishing one), they noted that they would bring it after I finished (I had less than half a glass left). Upon finishing my beer around 8:10 the waitress attempted to convince me to not order the beer or to take it to go. The fact is they should not have taken my order for a beer to begin with at around 8:00 if they were not going to allow me to drink it in the restaurant. Again, this appeared to be more due to them wanting to close at 8:30 and not due to any concerns around serving me another drink as I had had the beer with my meal and such without causing an issue to them. Thus, if you do decide to arrive here do so with plenty of time as longer stays that brush up against closing time may not be ideal. Again, not speaking badly as I know folks have homes and families they want to get to, but do not offer another food dish or drink if not willing to honor such. For just that reason, I give it a 4/5 stars. read more

The same pad thai noodle but with an incredibly delicious, rich and creamy panang curry. Served with cooked beansprouts and shredded lettuce. - Honey Pork: the pork was marinated and cooked so well to deliver an umami and savory taste. The green apple salsa takes it to another level. The dish pairs very well with steamed rice, which is included with the order, unlike other Thai restaurants where you have to pay extra. Parking: there is a shared lot behind the store with 3 dedicated spots for Daisy Mint. Today we dined in and ordered two dishes, one of them being the coconut seafood soup. The order was served, but it came with chicken instead. When I brought it to their attention and explained that we wanted it with seafood, the waiter said, "Oh, sorry, we only have chicken, tofu, etc. for now-we don't have seafood at this time." First of all, why didn't they tell us beforehand that seafood wasn't available and instead chose to serve whatever they wanted? Second, we were still finishing our food and hadn't asked for the check, yet the waiter decided to bring it anyway-even though we planned to order more. Lastly, as we were about to leave, the worker asked my mother's friend for a tip. Not only is it rude to ask for a tip, but the real question is: why would we tip a place where we weren't satisfied with the service? read more

We were told some of their menu items were going to be sold at their sister restaurant Daisy Mint so we decided to give it a try. We actually didn't see many of the same dishes and they primarily served Thai food. We ordered the duck roll, roti and curry, and pad see ew. Everything we got was solid.
