Absolutely love this place for breakfast anytime! My personal favorite is the Chef Skillet however the different dishes that I have tried there have all been really good! Ask for the daily specials menu... they have a few dishes there too. The service there is always on point! Wait staff is very attentive and will make sure you have everything you need. It's basically like a Denny's with slow service and a limited menu. I've been here several times because I work in the area and some folks I work with like to go here. Lunch hasn't been bad, but then again when you're with six people you're really not paying attention much. Last night was it for me. I tried dinner here and it was awful. I literally walked out halfway through the meal. Took five minutes for the server to come over and take my order. Salad was warm...I ate half of it and gave up. Got the chicken parmesan with spaghetti. The spaghetti was cold to the touch and runny. The chicken was cold. I tried to get the attention of the server but she seemed far more interested in chatting it up with the guy refilling ketchup bottles at the counter. After five minutes I gave up on trying to get her attention and walked over to interrupt her conversation. Got the check, paid, left. Never again in the evenings. Only if forced for lunch. read more

Breakfast, lunch and dinner, I always like the food here. Dapper's is a family owned restaurant. There was a time a few years back that they had to cut back on the hours. I think this made some people realize that they better shop local or it could be gone. Funny thing how you get noticed when you cut your hours. I am s soup person and Dappers has some of the best soup around. Beef Barley Soup the old fashioned kind. yum yum. the prices work here, for the money you will not leave here hungry. I am guessing there is a West somewhere around these parts as well. My mom comes here every week with a friend. My dad says this place is only for senior citizens and doesn't like coming here. I said we need to check it out ourselves and see what happens. For as long as I can remember this place has been here. It is located in the Addison Mall. There is a Target store within this mall now. My, my, how things have changed. I used to bank at Household Bank way back in the day. Ahhhh.......memories. This morning we were hungry and ready for a great breakfast. As you all know my favorite is having a Mexican breakfast with steak, eggs, Chilaquiles, rice, and beans. But today I had to do something different. Thin Waffle. Yep, that's what I said. My mom special orders a thin waffle. This was delicious. My mom gave me a bite and I swear I am ordering it like this from now on. Eggs, over medium, hash browns with cheese sauce and sausage. Side of Ham. This was my favorite part of the meal. @Xobejm had her usual. Scrambled eggs, sausage, and hash browns. @Tarajroth had the French Toast, Eggs, over easy, and bacon Papi had the huevos rancheros omelette and hash browns. Pancakes. They must put something in the batter. These are very tasty. Great service and decent prices. Coffee keeps on coming and the restaurant is very clean. I'd gone to Dappers West years ago after a Bead Society meeting, and while I liked it well enough, I didn't honestly think about it too much afterwards. But this morning, Dawn and I were doing some errands and wanted a quick breakfast before we came home to make cookies. As we were headed east anyway, she suggested we try this place, and I'm glad she did. Dappers is a classic Hot Brown Food restaurant, and the food is frankly quite good. But what really elevates the place above most other HBF places I've tried is the cleanness and the quality of the staff. Not only was the place virtually spotless -- there wasn't a speck of food on the carpet in the section where we were sitting -- but our waitress was friendly, competent and about as obliging as you could ever hope for. She even offered to take our check up to the register for us! Hot Brown Food places aren't for fine dining, they're for honest, basic, reliable meals. And Dappers is a very good specimen of the HBFR. read more

However, the food was very good, the price was extremely low and the service was great. Not 1 negative I could fine. Not a whole lot to say about this place? It's your basic Greek diner that does a pretty good job with breakfast. It's not great, but will work on a busy weekend morning. I have been here twice, once for breakfast and once for a sandwich. I had a Ruben sandwich the other day. They serve it open face with lots of kraut, Swiss cheese, a minimum amount of corned beef and thousand island dressing on the side. Let me start by saying, "please consider making your 1000 dressing! You have a really bad brand of prepared dressing, or you you make it? If so, please throw out the recipe and buy one, as yours really need some work! Sorry... As for breakfast, there isn't much to say. Yes, they make an okay omelette, but they do charge an additional $1.50 for egg whites. Some places don't charge, most that do charge, only usually charge $1. read more

My wife remembered eating Reuben sandwiches at Dappers when she was young. So while visiting in Addison we stopped for the Reuben. She was very happy with it . BUT... I love meatloaf, so I have high hopes and was very disappointed with what they called meatloaf. It was horrible I couldn't eat it. The service was very bad the waitress disappeared my wife didn't get her Coleslaw, I didn't get dessert no one refilled our water. My wife had to go to the counter and ask them to find someone to bring our bill so we could leave. The Reuben was good but every other aspect of our visit was Very sub standard. I write this with rating pending based on food quality, yet I am highly doubtful the meal will meet any standards as everything up to this point has failed miserably. We were seated immediately followed by a timed, 5:38 wait for a server who only arrived after I asked the host to send one over. We then waited another 5 minutes for her to return with our bevs. I ordered the Chicken Marsala lunch special with a Chicken noodle soup while my partner ordered a Belgian waffle with strawberry's and a side of sausage. The bevs finally arrived and immediately my partner and I look at each other as her coffee tasted burnt and old while my sprite was CLEARLY not sprite, but some subpar substitute. The server returns to empty water glasses 5 minutes later with obviously Campbell's chicken noodle soup in tow, and says she'll bring more water to no avail. I tell her about the sprite and she's completely clueless. The food arrives! Wow, just wow. The Marsala was literally just burnt chicken with fettuccine noodles and butter while tasteless and boring. I proceed to walk to the from counter and let them know which they responded with "we'll take it off the bill". Ok, fine, but I'm still hungry. "May I have the Benedict as a replacement?" Sure. Came within 5 minutes... impressive but a little too quick for comfort. Alas, my restauranteur years prove my hesitation correct. The WORST Benedict I've EVER had. Sour and stodgy, synthetic and chewy. Absolutely repugnant. So let's see... Mediocre service, awful food and a setting that only a great grandmother could appreciate. I was getting ready to do some Target shopping next door and stopped in Dappers for dinner pretty much because it was the only restaurant around. It's a family-style diner sort of place. Interior decorating is not so great but we had a neat old picture of Wrigley Field at our table which we loved looking at. Service was good, nice server. I ordered the Greek chicken kabobs (can't remember the Greek name for it, started with an S). The chicken was a little dry, but still it was full of flavor and the vegetables tasted fresh. This isn't the kind of place I'd recommend you to drive far to visit; however, if you're in the area and hungry, it's worth a shot. read more

I have a love for diners that is unmatched by any of the 'fancy' brunch places - you know who you are. There is something noble about the simplicity of having a typical breakfast. We went here early (like 8 am on a Sunday early) and surprisingly, were not the only people there. The youngest, without a doubt. Inside, the space is much larger than I had initially thought, and immediately felt cozy. This feeling was of course enhanced by the large booth they gave us, the pouring rain outside, and the knowledge we would soon be having our arteries clogged. I had the breakfast croissant which was on special that day, and my friend had the eggs benedict. Unfortunately, the waitress came back to us after we ordered to inform that the kitchen was out of english muffins. Seriously? It was not even 9 am - you're next door to Target, GO BUY SOME! My friend opted to try it with biscuits instead, but the lack o' muffins was pretty symbolic to me of the entire visit. Our waitress was nice enough, but she forgot to bring out the side of bacon which was ordered - something she didn't even realize until the check was brought to us with the item still on it. There was also a lag in trying to get refills even though the busboys were huddled in the corner talking to a couple of waitresses instead of doing much. The food was fine, nothing exciting. I went here 1 time - nothing special. It was for dinner though and this is probably a WAY better breakfast place. I remember the waitress telling us the soups and it was like split pea or clam chowder (sickness all the way around). But - the name of the place rocks... I have been coming to Addison Mall for years now to shop at the Target and Dollar store but I never ate at Dappers until finally on one snowy afternoon I decided to try it. It's your typical american diner with typical diner fare. On this day I had the special which was the open faced sausage sandwich with cheese. When it finally arrived at my table its was BIG. The sandwich has lots of sausage and it was covered in cheese and onions and green papers. It was really delicious and the sausage meat was tasty. It was so big a portion I could not finish it. My special came with a cup of lentil soup which was also really good, you can tell it was house made and not out of can. Seeing what the other patrons where eating I'm definitely going to go back and try their other items and it seems their food is a notch above normal diner food. read more

I really enjoy Dapper's, we go here quite a bit for lunch because my job isn't far away. I've had several different things and they're all pretty good. It's nothing to give a blue ribbon to but it's good quality food and you go away stuffed. The Chicken Supreme is maybe my favorite it's a chicken breast with bacon, lettuce and tomato on a croissant. The fries are nice and big! I also really enjoyed their burger there and their club sandwhiches. The clubs are HUGE, I only eat two parts and always have two left for the next day. I'm going again for breakfast Friday so hopefully I'll try some of this delicious breakfast food I'm reading about!! read more

Went here for breakfast. This is a family-friendly place with prompt and courteous service. I ordered the veggie skillet and was pleasantly surprised they used fresh spinach. The potatoes were crispy and tender. The pancakes were yummy. I've been looking for a casual, clean diner-type place and so far, this place met all of my needs. Looking forward to trying their sandwiches and salads. Pros: parking lot, lots of seating, reasonable prices. Cons: nothing yet. Man I wanted to like this place. I really did. It reminds me of breakfast places in movies made before 1980. And its nearby. But, I just can't come to spend another penny here. Came on a Saturday with two others around 10:30am. Got right in and saw an old juice dispenser that looked like the one I used when I worked at an assisted living facility. Things were looking good. The server lady was no-nonsense but totally on her game. Our table must have asked her 25 questions over the course of our stay. We all ordered the standard two eggs brekkie. Tip: avoid the bacon and go for the sausage links- I literally don't know how you mess up bacon but Dappers managed. Eggs tasted off and my dinner salad was super drab. The eggs came with a side of meat, a side of fruit/potato, and a side of bread/pancake. Definitely peaked at the pancake, so if you find yourself here just get a whole stack of 'em and call it a day. I've been going to Dappers East, at least intermittently, for years. Their food is consistently good (for what it 'is'), service is decent, prices are average. It's your prototypical Greek-owned, way-too-big-menu place. I don't get their new hours (MINUS one star).....why have the big menu, the bar, the large space, if you're basically going breakfast-only (closing at 4, really?). Why not try to promote, cut prices, close off parts of the restaurant, take advantage of Target, etc., rather than basically give up and close at 4? Doesn't sound like a good business decision. read more

The service is extremely slow - we had to wait almost 30 min for drinks, and for another waitress to come over and actually notice something was wrong and take our order. Plus, the food is nothing to write home about. I got a chicken sandwich and it was dry and unsatisfying. They brought me fries instead of onion rings, which I specifically ordered. Overall, I think the most satisfying part was the bill, but I would have rather paid for better service and food. read more

I'm on a no carb diet. I ordered an egg omlette and asked if I could substitute a side salad for the hash browns and pancakes. The waitress said "No" I asked if could talk to the manager. Instead of coming to the table and discussing it with me, he sends her back and says just substitute fruit. Considering that the potatoes and pancakes and even the fruit cost more than a little bowl of lettuce. Daupers is spending less on my breakfast. $9.50 . Very disappointing. I usually bring my 85 year old dad here, might have to find a new place. The waitress was very nice. Don't know her name, she didn't introduce herself or wear a name tag. read more

Dapper's East is conveniantly located two minutes from my apartment, so the location gets a thumbs up in my book. I've been to Dapper's numerous times since I moved to the city. Mainly on the weekends after a night of cocktails. Their breakfast is hands down dynamite. The prices coincide. I reccomend the Apple Pancakes or Strawberry Waffles. Any Egg combination with a side of bacon and pancakes is worth the trip. You can spend under $20 dollars for a breakfast for two. The service makes you feel at home and haven't had a complaint once. The only pitfall is the menu after breakfast. Lunch is still not too shabby, however, I wouldn't recommend their dinner. I've had it a couple of times including Pot Roast, Steak Salad and a beef kabob platter. All a tad dry. All in all, great place for getting some yummy breakfast with reasonable prices and mid-west hospitality. read more

I've been going to Dappers for as long as I can remember. I remember it being quite good and always busy when I was younger. It seems as though this restaurant has gone downhill quite a bit. The place was deserted, there was only one elderly couple in the restaurant aside from my mother and I. As empty as it was, it still took quite some time before a server acknowledged us. The food came out promptly, but the eggs were runny and the sausage was burnt, both were oozing with grease. Needless to say, I will not be visiting this restaurant again. read more

My waitress was amazing. she brought anything i wanted and called me sweetie the entire time. some people call this a Greek Diner, its bot really. its just a 70's diner that I'm sure was once busy as hell. I'm here on a late lunch on a Friday. its not dead. however, ive heard "puppy love", "the morning after" and "house of the rising sun". Im long over most of those songs, but its a 70's diner. It reminds a LOT of The Carriage House Diner that used to be at Ohio and St. Clair in Chicago. same quality food, same kinds of waitresses. NOW, is it old? yes. Is it kind of ugly? yes. Outdated? yes. If you don't like that don't come. AND, if you fancy yourself a fine Yelper with good and contemporary tastes, don't come here. This had turned out to be my new breakfast place to go to when I have limited time. They are usually pretty fast with their food, but the service can be a little challenging depending how packed the place is. There is always parking available in the lot and because it's a pretty big restaurant there is never a wait time when i go. They also have some good breakfast meal deals for a few bucks. read more
