The 2 stars is because they continue to advertise having whole wheat buns when they don't. I've gone into the local about 5 times in 6 weeks and ask every time. The workers have no idea when, OR IF, they will ever have whole wheat again. Otherwise I am a 5 star customer of Dave's Cosmic. If you like white bread buns, their subs are impossible to beat. I love their sprouts and the banana peppers (pepperchini?). The sauce with the smoked turkey #13 is unbeatable. I'm hoping for Dave's buyer to wake up and get the products back that I love. Until then I can only give constructive feedback and continue to boycott. read more

Started working right across the street from this gem of a sandwich shop. They always remember and make my usual order with little-to-no wait time and it's always hot and yummy! My go to is the Dave's Club which always comes out with good portions of meat and their very own Cosmic Sauce. Jaymee, the cashier, continuously greets us with a smile and a new story about her day, so it just makes the atmosphere all the more welcoming. This is not your typical run of the mill sandwich shop. Yes the decor is a funky mix of flower power, 60s rock n roll and 70s psychedelic rock. The noise is just a distraction from the main attraction- the subs. These are not an Italian deli type of fare they take the Italian deli and put a twist on it with he secret sauce and the variety of meats available. I've had the original #1 which is good. Great cuts, good crusty bread, comes together well with the sauce. The gem of the bunch is the #28, the big Dave. It has so many different little peppers in it that it really kicks it up a notch! Great chip selection and good drinks available for those that need the stuff on the periphery but rest assured all the sandwiches looks like are a good choice. Great little sandwich spot. Easy to pull in and park and grab a quick sandwich. Mine last time was made in a few minutes. The bread was the perfect amount to compliment the level of filling. The Dave's Cosmic Italian is great with the perfect bite from the sauce and the banana peppers. Thick meat and fresh tomato; just a great all around sub. The Turkey is also incredible,, same perfect proportioning of filling and high quality meats. The meatball looks great and I will be returning to try it. Very expensive for the amount of meat they put on the sandwich. I ordered avocado as an extra and didn't even get half of the avocado for the size of sandwich bread they use, I felt ripped off, especially for the price of the avocado. They don't do substitutions, so I had to have the 1000 island dressing instead of my usual mayo and mustard and olive oil and vinegar. Not worth the $ for price of the sandwich. I don't write reviews much, but when the food and service are this good I feel it's my duty to return the favor. 1-The food was great. We tried just about everything on the menu and they were all a hit. Quality ingredients, great bread and they have alfalfa sprouts, my personal favorite. 2- Solid service. Taylor, the young lady guiding us was professional, courteous and accommodating. Luis, the creator was patient and pleasant during our entire experience. BTW... I brought in a group of about 30 very hungry people. If Taylor and Luis were overwhelmed, they didn't show it much. If they can handle my crew, they can handle anyone. Great sandwiches! They're not small but also not too big, so you don't leave feeling overstuffed. The bread was fresh and a little chewy, and the spicy mayo amped up the flavor perfectly. They have a nice outdoor patio away from the street side, so it's not noisy. All employees were wearing masks and they sanitized tables after each group left. Very clean inside and out. The only issue we had was with money. They wouldn't take a fifty dollar bill - employee said they are "not allowed to." Our meal was almost thirty, it's not like we were just buying a bottle of water to get change. So I was supposed to be getting treated to lunch but since my companion only had a fifty, I ended up paying. Next time I'm making sure my friend has smaller bills so HE can pay, LOL! read more

Honestly, if you are going to tout your meatball sub as the best, most popular item on the menu, and it's a buck off, I was a little suspicious starting from there. Never discount your best stuff. This sandwich was made of 3 huge meatballs, which were not warm enough in the sandwich, but I suspect the bread would have burned by the time the cheeses were melted and the meatballs got heated through in their oven. Something, the sauce, the meatball was Super garlicky, but not in a good way. If this dish is an example of their best, then cosmic Dave must have been trippin' maybe I'll give me another shot on a cold sub, but for the money, even Jersey Mikes kicks their ass. My first time at Dave's, and boy am I disappointed!!! First off, the bread is so hard, it's difficult to bite into the sandwich. Secondly, off the menu I ordered the "Incredible Dave". I for the life of me can not tell how Dave could think for a second that this sandwich is incredible. The menu also says, two generous layers of chicken. Well, you can see by my picture that this simply means, TWO THIN SLICES. Everything else is lettuce and cheese. And to top all this off, they use the POS system that requires the customer to choose the tip you want to leave and then sign the screen. If this was a sit down restaurant and I was being served, I would tip. Usually more than required. But, this makes you feel obligated and guilty if you choose zero for tip even though I was the only customer in there and he was just standing around chatting when I walked in. It was good. I didn't get the fan favorites but I enjoyed them. Tons of dressing on the sandwich. I wish I got to try Dave's house dressing on my salad but I just got oil and vinegar? I'm not sure if that's right, but that's what I got. The Saint Tropez salad is good & the mandarin oranges are refreshing. So this place place originated in Ohio and so I brought my Ohio friend to confirm its authenticity...she loved it and says its just like home. Now are the sandwiches good? I'm no sandwich expert, but I know I like these sandwiches! It is not a Subway! Good meat, good cheese and best part the sauce. Which you can buy a bottle of! Oh man, that sauce can be good with a lot of stuff. I got the Dave's World Famous and its pretty good, but that horseradish sauce completes it. My friend made her own. Turkey, sprouts, swiss and the cosmic sauce. All of that to say a tasty sandwich. Good bread too. Crunchy on the outside and soft center. Now if you're going for size, you'll have to order 2. First of all the Sandwich was built upside down so when I unwrapped my sandwich there were two very thin slices of Turkey Lunch meat, Under that onion lettuce and mayo. The wet lettuce being placed in the roll made the bread soggy and with the Turkey thrown on top it was difficult to eat this falling apart Sandwich. No flavor at all.
