We hosted a business meal at the restaurant last night. The service was good and the food was average definitely not worth the money spent. The biggest issue we had was with the wine service. We ordered two bottles of $175 wine. The wine concierge advised us that they only had one bottle but recommended a different bottle that was comparable. We took her up on her recommendation and when we received the bill the price was anything but comparable. The price went from $175 to $295 per bottle. I felt that we were taken advantage of since it was a business meal. After spending almost $2,000 for a dinner that was ruined we will be taking our customers to a restaurant that has non deceptive business practices. read more

What could possibly outshine the food?! THE SERVICE! I stopped in for a steak but was impressed by the staff more than anything. I ordered the Ribeye and the only thing that outmatched the deliciousness of that steak was how it was delivered to my table. This is specfic to a group event in one of the private rooms overlooking Boston Harbor. With the ability to be out on the deck overlooking the Tall Ships and all of the other activity on the waterfront, I can't think of a much better location in all of Boston. From a food and service standpoint, our lead server was Paul, who is truly excellent and a lot of fun. He took care of our group during our 4 hour dinner event - a true pro and he made sure that drinks were always full and each course seemed to move along very quickly. What I had: Shrimp Cocktail with 3 sauces - large fresh shrimp with very flavorful sauces. Standard Cocktail Sauce and then 2 unique sauces - one of them was mustard based and was the stand-out. Simple Wedge salad with blue cheese and bacon. Enormous portion and right on the money. 12 ounce Ribeye - while the restaurant offers the steak a bunch of different ways, I stuck with a simple peppercorn sauce for the side. It was cooked exactly how I'd asked for it and the portion was so enormous, I didn't finish (this doesn't happen often!) All in all - I can't think of a reason to plan a private event (for up to 30 people) anywhere else in Boston. Bravo Del Frisco's Boston! read more

Service was very slow tonight. We had reservations at 6:30 and did not get our main courses until about 830. I had to leave for a business meeting at 9:15 before the bill was served. The place is also very loud and crowded between the tables. I recommend they add some acoustics and remove a few of the tables. read more

This review does not particularly include the food of this restaurant as it is more about the staff. In attempts to celebrate my birthday with a dinner I decided to go del friscos seaport where we were greeted by a very nice woman downstairs who stated the waitlist would be about 2hrs long. we went across the way to a bar, got a drink, came back about an hour & a half later to see about the progress. a nice white woman, who's name i never got, was checking to see if they may have an open seat at the bar when another staff member, hostess (Armani), cut her off and very rudely said we're not going to be seated because they're not seating from the waitlist & the wait would be another 2 hours. I asked her what was the point of the waiting list and asked how is it our fault your staff does not communicate with each other. We've waited an hour & a half to eat dinner. Armani very unprofessionally states "you've only been waiting an hour & our tables are people who actually made a reservation. You can't just show up here on a Saturday night expecting to get a table". Severely agitated and Hungry I attempt to tell this woman I don't mind sitting at the bar however her attitude was completely unacceptable she then cuts me off and said "as I said these tables are for people who actually showed up for their reservation". I asked for her name & left. it cost zero dollars to not be a total b*t*h. read more

Went for dinner at the bar with a friend. My friend had seafood which she enjoyed. My steak arrives and the waiter won't leave until I cut it in half to "check if it's cooked correctly". Nowhere else have I ever had to do that. Not capital grill, Grille 23 or even the Outback. At $60 for a ribeye, I HOPE the cook can get the temperature correct. Or, they think I don't know what I'm asking for when I order a steak medium-rare. Which is insulting. Worst, when the leftovers were packed up, they failed to include the sides. This Del Friscos struggles with service especially at peak times when the restaurant is crowded . I have waited at various times on different occasions. I've waited to be seated . I've had longer than expected wait times for food and drinks . I have had those experiences but the food has always been great the drinks have always been good . So although you might get caught in a waiting situation ( it is not all the time ) you won't be disappointed with your meal . read more

Did not disappoint. First the service was exceptional! Food from apps to dessert was delicious. We were a party of 7 celebrating college graduation. My best friend and I were walking around the Seaport District and wanted to splurge, and take each other out for a fancy dinner. My friend has been to Del Frisco's before and highly recommended it. I was a little bit nervous because I wasn't dressed my best, and I saw a lot of people dressed smart casual to dressy walking in there. We approached The hostess stand and were immediately seated right by the water. I was surprised as it was a busy Sunday night in Boston. It wasn't raining & it wasn't snowing, so I guess that constitutes as good weather, although for my Los Angeles blood it was very cold. However, indoors you could see Boston Harbor right outside and it was beautiful. Our server was very attentive, so much so that I almost feel like every conversation was interrupted. Not in a rude way, whatsoever. We decided to go for the burrata as an appetizer and then split a filet. Everything was delicious. The burrata salad might've been the best I've ever tasted, the steak was delicious, we each had martinis and they were amazing. Also, the bread-and-butter was delicious too. We split everything, except for the martinis of course. We still had a pretty high bill. This place is very pricey, but again... We were looking to take ourselves out to a fancy dinner so it really didn't matter. I came here last night with my friends for restaurant week, and you would think when a restaurant puts themselves out there for people to come in and try their food they would put in a little more effort. I had never been before so I was excited to go, however I will not be going back. It took almost an hour to get our salads, the filet I ordered was not warm but was served to me cold. My friends filet's all came out luke warm as well. The salmon was extremely salty, but the service was not great for a fine dining steak house. The staff did not take the wine glasses off the table until our entree's came, which none of us were drinking wine. I had the opportunity to experience their new late night menu a few weeks ago, and I was pleasantly surprised at the food. I wasn't at all familiar with the restaurant before that, but it had an old school steakhouse vibe--definitely the kind of place to rub elbows and woo clients. The meal we sampled including at least 3 types of steak, all aged for different periods of time. They were also mouthwatering and perfectly cooked, but I liked the Double Eagle special the best. It's not on their regular menu, so you have to ask your server about it. It was flavorful and so juicy...mmm. We also tried a variety of sides, most of which were doused in butter (not a bad thing!) There were cheesy potatoes, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, and my favorite--spaghetti squash. I know right? This spaghetti was actually prepared in a way to make it delicious (rather than as a pasta substitute). It was covered in a cream sauce and sprinkled with toasty bread crumbs. So good. This place won't become a regular spot for me, but it's a good option for a fancy night out if you're in the area and you're craving a juicy steak. read more

Went here for dinner last night expecting the food and service to be immaculate. This was not the case last night as our service would of been better at an apple bee's. Note this review is not based on the quality of the food, but the ethics of the establishment. I had a reservation for a group of 12 for New Years Eve. Booking was made months in advance. We had noticed online after we booked that they had a pre fix menu option for $195 per person. There was no notation about this menu being the ONLY menu available for New Years Eve. The establishment called us (and everyone else who had reservations) THE DAY BEFORE to let us know that on New Year's Eve only the pre fix menu could be ordered from. They apologized for the late notice and the lack of description on their website. For one it is a little ridiculous that we are forced to pay $195 per person for a set menu without any other option, and for two the menu is not even worth the price. I added up what I would have purchased off the regular menu and it would have came to $150 max. A total ripoff. I have been to this establishment before without any issues, but this is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of, especially for New Years Eve. Needless to say, we had to quickly struggle to find an alternate location for our Party of 12 to save our NYE night. read more

Just had a fantastic meal here. Have always gone to the Manhattan location, and we found the food here to be just as great. Perfect steak and large portions on the side. Big shout out to Charlotte, who was an incredible waitress and kind person. There was a broken glass at the table next to us that fell onto our table, and the management could not have been more responsive and gracious. Definitely worth a visit. read more

My cousin was over charged on valentines day and we are still trying to get his money back...he signed a cc slip for 180.00 and when we got home his bank account said 504.00 we have called since feb 14th and nothing had been done about this! Just had a bad dinner at this location. We sat down in the lounge area a little after 6PM, the waitress took our order and after returning with the cocktail drinks she never returned. We never got asked if we needed more drinks or any help. We received our Dinner a little after 8PM. Two hours later...Thanks to Jenn & Chelsea for going above and beyond to make sure we were assisted after we asked about our waitress who never returned . They took it to help my family at this point . They were Amazing! One of the managers Steve, came over and apologized for the service and assisted us from this point. My Food on the other hand did taste wonderful...I'll be back, just hoping for better service next time. read more

One of the worst "fine dining" experiences we've ever had. It's a bummer having to write this as someone who is truly empathic to the people in the service world but.....it was the worst $200 per person meal I've ever had. Extremely slow service(4 hour dinner), the steak was cooked wrong for multiple people (4 out of 8 cooked wrong), and the sides looked like something you'd expect from a quick serve restaurant. For an upscale restaurant, I definitely would have expected a much better experience. The steak was not cooked properly. I ordered medium rare and received medium well. For the price, the food is definitely not worth it. It is a very hot day today and the air conditioning inside was barely even on. We could barely enjoy our lunch as we were sweating and rushing to get out. We asked 3 times for the temperature to be lowered and the manager was very rude and rolled her eyes. My co-workers loved this place so much they insisted on having our post-busy busy season celebration here 2 years in a row... I still don't understand why people are infatuated with this restaurant even after coming here again with the SO before a concert for dinner. Each time I've been lucky to be treated to a tasty gut-busting meal, however the raucous ambiance of shouting over the noise to talk over others did not appeal to me. When I went with co-workers we had a reservation and waited for awhile at the bar as the rest of our group arrived then they seated us. The first time we sat at one of the huge round tables no where near the beautiful view we paid premium for. The second time we sat at the long high tables with one side of the table enjoying the view. Each of the times we were in the midst of all the action so I strained my vocal chords. The last time I went with my SO they ran out of room in the main dining area so they seated us in a private room that they reserve for events and we had a view of the side of the street... Anyway I was glad that the private rooms were much quieter and more intimate. I finally didn't have to shout! The downside was that I sat right under an AC vent and nearly froze. Another annoyance is the lack of cell reception at least for T-mobile inside the restaurant. I know you shouldn't exactly be glued to your phone anyway, but it's a complete dead zone unless I'm hugging the windows. Very disappointing! After being my favorite restaurant for several years sadly I probably will not return. The Chilled Seafood Tower for two we always look forward to came out as a small plate with ice that had a half of the smallest lobster tail I've ever seen, 6 shrimp, and two half king crab legs! Really for two people at $57/ per person! The filet I ordered medium was barely seared and purple inside. Not cooked at all! And to top it off after telling the waitress twice my wife was allergic to tomatoes, what does she get? A salmon with tomato on the plate! Just such a letdown. I don't mind paying the $330 for a special dinner, but there was nothing special about it! Well except the calamari. Fantastic as usual. The only thing I can say was "as expected". Although the sommelier was great. Friendly and spent time helping the wife pick out a new wine. Looks like we need to find a new place for our future birthdays and dinners in Boston. read more

AMAZING SERVICE! We went to the one in Philadelphia, and figured we would try the Boston Location. We were not Disappointed. The crab cake was amazing! I would come back just for that. The steak was cooked just liked we asked. The cocktails were amazing as well. The whole thing was just good! My husband I went for my birthday and we were beyond disappointed. I do not usually write bad reviews but I wrote in to them about our experience 5 days ago and have yet to receive a response to my e-mail. We made an 8:15pm reservation and arrived a little early with the intention of getting a drink beforehand, we were greeted with a snotty comment about how our table would not be ready early - which felt pretty rude so that didn't get us off to a great start. They told us they would get us at the bar but then forgot us and we had to go over and ask, they then scrambled to get our table together. After we sat down no one came over to us for 10-15 minutes, finally we ordered drinks and an app which also took about 20 minutes or more to come - app I can understand, drinks I can not. We then ordered our steaks which took over an hour to arrive, the manager came to talk to us and let us know they were on the way, which was fine until we got them and my husbands was raw and mine was cold, yes cold. We then sent them back which took another half hour, by the time we got them back it was 10:30pm! Honestly I did not even want it by then, the food is so rich it was way to late to be eating that. Anyway, they did give us dessert on them but to be honest it just didn't feel sufficient to me - we still paid around $250 basically for drinks and apps because by the way the steaks were still not cooked right the second time!! I should have made more of a big deal while we were there but I didn't want to ruin our night even further. I understand that restaurants can have their off nights, no big deal, but the fact that no one responded to my e-mail explaining this disaster is inexcusable. I would suggest Capital Grille or Ruth's Chris instead of this for good steak in Boston! read more

Food is great. Not the oysters - dry non testy dead disappointment (like they died standing open near heat and oxidized). But deserts are bulimic mess-up - too sweet , too big. Not enough lite to enjoy what you eating. Great salads. Coffee ok. Wine - do not listed to their wine "specialist". Bar part - dirty, flies are everywhere, all tvs on same channel. Do not leave your coat downstairs - you will never get it when you need it, plus there is no one there in last 2 hours, even when everyone are still eating . The responsible for coats people are always chatting near the bar about guests on the second flor. If not for service - food is amazing. The only think they do overcook meat all the time, so order rare as hell. read more
