My boyfriend and I came here tonight for our Valentine's Day dinner and it was soooooo good. Lindsey was so nice and personable and said we should try a smoked old fashioned which was absolutely delicious and recommended we try the Shrimp Scampi. I am allergic to seafood but said i could switch it out for some blackened chicken no issues at all. We had several rounds of drinks and all the dishes were beyond great. We were so full and satisfied that we declined an offer for a "Togo" dessert. As i am writing this, I wish i would have taken her up on it! This will definitely be a new rotation for our date nights! After sitting for 15 minutes and no servers coming to our table we asked to move and finally got service. Overall the food was pretty good. We love it here. The atmosphere is perfect and welcoming. We like to sit by the dart boards since we play. We always start with the pretzel and potato skin appetizers. They are delicious. Seriously if I had the option to pick just one restaurant to give more than 5 stars Delaney's Irish Pub would be it hands down. Talk about authentic. The flavors are unbelievably close to what you would get in an Irish pub. My husband got the Guinness Stew, holy moly. It's one of their dishes that would be hard to replicate. There really is no way to describe the flavor and taste. You need to taste it for yourselves. Now on to my choice. The unforgettable Reuben sandwich. Your knowledge of what a Reuben sandwich should taste like will blow your mind when you actually sink your teeth into some of the most tender corned beef, pub sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and 1000 island dressing between some tasty marble rye. Once you taste the real deal there's no way you'll want to eat any other. It's a shame it's taken a pandemic to throw people into unknown territory but making the choice to help our local businesses, especially the restaurants is something that I'm proud to be a part of. I really want to find businesses close to me that I can embrace. This is at least the fifth time I have tried Delaney's...tonight was the worst overall experience. The young man brings our ice tea to us with about three cubes per glass, the rest melted. Sharp servers notice this normally and offer to bring a cup of ice. I asked and he ultimately brought it. The menu says pickle spears...they bring pickle chips...not a big deal...change the menu description next time. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak...normally tough to screw up. White onions were still crunchy, oil soaked bread and VERY salty beef. They were out of the broccoli and cheese casserole so I opted for the broccoli. My wife asked for shrimp Cobb salad and asked if they could remove the tails...we have done it here before...waiter comes back and tells us that is not possible. Lastly, Grandpa ordered owner's burger...was more than a little red. This was not meant to sound so negative, but they are rushing things in the kitchen apparently. We have returned several times because we like the concept and the good part is the staff tens to be courteous and efficient. The food quality and preparation are lacking. We keep being told that Covid is the reason restaurants compromise on quality and service. I am not certain that is the problem. Attention to details is something that managers/ owners teach to their staff. I hope they improve for their own sake. read more

My husband and I tried this place on door dash and the food was amazing so went there in person. The food is DELICIOUS! We have now visited several times and every time the food has been beyond yummy. We have loved everything we have tried. This is not just average bar food. Its got fresh baked pot pies and heavenly appetizers. Texas taters as to die for. Philly steak rolls so good and loved the crispy fried pickles with ranch. Good fried pickles are hard to find. They are often too salty or bland or soggy. Not these, they are perfect! Queso blanco and chips so good we finished it all. Shepard's pie and chicken pot pie were both amazing. Caesar salad is also delicious. Texas new fashioned drink was a delightful twist on the classic. Love that they have ying ling black & tans. Peanut butter Brit was also quite tasty. Every time we go we try something new and love it. The service is also wonderful! Chris was so warm and welcoming. We had a group of over 20 people for Happy Hour and dinner last night. James singlehandedly served us and did a fantastic job! The food was great and he delivered to us all almost at once. My husband and I have lived in McKinney for about a year and every time we were in the market street parking lot we would see the sign for the breakfast at Delaney's and we always said "man, we should totally go to that". I cannot believe it took us SO LONG to try it. I absolutely loved the breakfast I had, and so did my husband. Not only did we get to enjoy some very tasty mimosas with our brunch on a Saturday, but I had the irish eggs benedit which has potato pancakes, spiced sausage with hard boiled egg (instead of poached, but it was still very tasty) and that is quick fried to give a little crunch to the topping. Their hollandaise was delicious and I got toast with the plate but nothing for the toast so I asked for some of their gravy because my husband was raving about it and the manager brought it to the table and informed us he handmade it that morning. SO yummy. I loved it. My hubby had the lumberjack breakfast and it was VERY generously portioned, I really couldn't believe they charged less than $10 for 2 biscuits, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs and their homemade gravy! Hubby couldn't even finish it but it was so tasty he kept snacking on the plate throughout our morning. We are definitely excited about going back again and enjoying breakfast. read more

Two times and the food just isn't very good. Have tried two appetizers, their Philly cheese eggrolls, so ground up there is no texture and bland. Texas potato balls which have a good texture and some flavor but not enough to stand up to drinks The side salad and mashed potatoes are good but the Beef and Mushroom Pie, the crust was soggy so I peeled it back and ate the insides. Happy hour drinks are weak and poorly made. So we stuck with beer and wine after our first round. And the music ... they cranked it up to such a level that we couldn't talk and I just heard bits and pieces of the table conversation. Very bad service. if I didn't live across the street I'd give it a 1/2 stars. Dropped my baby on the ground and was over the place. Not kid friendly at all. Management and service has always been below par. This place needs to start over with their employees Server turned the highchair over and said we could put our baby in it. Second she was in it the chair slipped and she fell. Manager came over and said I never put my baby in one of those. We thought then why did you guys put our baby in it. She did not care. I can go on and on how bad your service is and how you let your employees run the place. This place could be a real gem. Me and my friends will never return to this place. read more

I've been a customer for almost 8 yrs. They have awesome food. My complaint is the Fries!! The last few times I've sent them back and gotten perfect fries. This afternoon I was tired of complaining. My fries were soggy, limp, cool to the touch as if they were on someone else's plate. I picked a few of the better ones. That's the only reason you got 3 stars. Having a limited diet I count on good fries as I don't have many food options. Cheese on my burger was over loaded. I didn't have many ingredients so to have you put scads of cheese on my burger was disappointing. Our server was a bit gruff, blonde, glasses and athletic build. She was off putting and didn't check our table until we were ready to go. No water refills, no questions about how we liked our meal and she didn't thank us. Very cold to us. Please improve your fries. Having them grease laden is disgusting at best. Not sure if we will be back. That makes me sad. read more

Food is good, but make sure you aren't in a hurry! We had a party of 7 (4 adults, 3 children) and spent two hours. The first hour and a half were spent waiting. We didn't mind too much because there are TVs everywhere. After an hour, we started wondering how much longer it would be! Our waitress came over and said it shouldn't be too much longer. 30 minutes later we got our food, which was all pretty good. One person got a pasta dish and it was cold. The waitress took it back to the kitchen and eventually came back with a hot pasta dish (I was a little more than halfway through my meal by then). No apologies, just swept it away. Again, drinks and food were good, but was surprised by the wait. Potentially a neat atmosphere, but a little on the run down side, which is surprising because the area surrounding does not seem old at all. read more
