Specifically for the Happy Hour Menu It's been a while since I've eaten at a spot here at City Center, so when friends wanted to hang out for happy hour, I was happy to oblige and also try out a new spot. In short, it was a VERY happy hour(s) enjoying bites and cocktails. Definitely a great option if you want to hang out with buds. L O C A T I O N Delarosa is in City Center and so parking can be either outside of in the parking garage. If you're looking at City Center from the Bollinger Canyon side, it's on that side, you just have to walk towards the center. Parking can be hit or miss, but luckily found a parking spot outside on the side that made sense for Delarosa. I N S I D E Though not in the inside, the patio area has a good amount of seating as well as heating elements. The inside had a bar area plus higher tables on the left. There were normal tables on the right. There are hooks under the higher tables to hang jackets or purses. M E N U We focused on just the happy hour menu. We did end up ordering every single item on the menu. Happy Hour starts at 4pm and ends at 6pm...so in theory it's Happy Hours. You can only order from this menu if you're seated in the bar area or patio (I believe). ~ Margarita - $8 ~ I ordered this drink first and it's a solid strong margarita. It was lovely. ~ Salty Dog - $8 ~ Then I saw the description of this on the actual drink menu. I kind of wish they had the description on the happy hour menu. But got this as my second drink and it was quite enjoyable and fruity. I may have gotten two of these instead but it was nice to try both the margarita and the salty dog drinks. ~ Burrata Bruschetta - $8 ~ This was a surprise hit though the bread was a little off putting with how much burnt/char taste. I kind of wish they just normally toasted the bread. But love the burrata plus honey mix with the hazelnuts. Yum. ~ Cauliflower - $8 ~ Get this because you need to get some kind of vegetable in your diet. HA! The aioli was lovely, creamy, and probably very garlicky which definitely upset my stomach but it's ok. I'll deal. Crisp outside, slightly salted. It was good. ~ Artichoke dip - $8 ~ I love chips. I do. I can eat chips just for dinner. My friends can attest to this. I liked the chunkiness of the dip. The chips were kind of over salted though. ~ Meatball - $7 ~ It is....one meatball. Like one small child fist size of meatball. It was a meatball. Nothing to brag about. I would skip unless you really want a meatball. ~ Focaccia Pugliese - $9 ~ I like olives but if you don't, then this is not your bread. It was nicely crisp and chewy with olive oil and basil with fresh tomatoes. ~ Pizzetta margherita - $8 ~ Sizeable and shareable. I kind of wish I put a slice of this on top of the hot salami pizzetta. Maybe next time. ~ Pizzetta hot salami - $10 ~ I did like this pizzetta. It was a little spicy but not unbearable. I do kind of wish they had a honey dip on the side or drizzled on top. S E R V I C E Our server was fabulous. She took our orders and catered to our changing needs and made sure we got our food/drinks before happy hour ended. She also gave us and refilled bottles of water to ensure we were hydrated. I love a place that makes sure you're hydrated. O V E R A L L We were there for 3 hours-ish. It's a little louder in here and you'll definitely smell like food. But if you're here for a good old hang out time with friends with some libations and carby food goodness, then yes, come here. I cannot wait to come back to get more drinks. read more

Unfortunately, we had a truly disturbing experience at this restaurant. We ordered a Caesar salad and a pizza. Halfway through eating the salad, I noticed a live caterpillar crawling on my lettuce. I was so sickened I had to run to the bathroom and vomit. I immediately informed the waiter, who promptly removed the plate. He spoke with the manager, but it took her over 10 minutes to come to our table--and only after I asked for her. There was no apology until I directly requested one, and no real effort to make the situation right. Her explanation? "Everything is organic, and I guess it just wasn't washed well enough." That response was not only dismissive, it was unacceptable. Bottom line: This place is dirty, careless, and clearly does not prioritize the health or experience of its customers. If you want a casual place to drop in to eat, this is a good one. The penne mushroom was a perfect comfort food with a nice glass of prosecco. Saw the pizzas so kids would be happy if you need that. I am not one for bad reviews, but this review is a total reflection of their brash manager Geoffrey. I have been here many times and the food has been good with spotty service. So today I was hungry and was craving a panini so looked at their menu and their chicken panini looked very appetizing. I came around 2:15 to get one and it was delicious. So I texted my buddy who loves good food equally. He's a doctor and left the hospital for lunch and by the time he got here it was 3:06PM and they declined to make him the panini. He texted me expressing his disappointment and I was across the way at Equinox working out and upon hearing this I went to restaurant to meet him. I asked for the manager and a huffing and puffing manager named Geoffrey came, I found him beyond unpleasant and rejected our request for the panini to be made. He gave some comical analogies on why it can't be made. He made it sound like I am asking him to amend the constitution. His tenor and his brashness left a very bad taste in my mouth. Look, I'm someone who respects and appreciates the hospitality industry. My Yelp account is filled with glowing reviews because I truly admire the effort it takes to create great experiences. But Geoffrey? He was the opposite of hospitable. A little self-reflection and maybe a crash course on what "hospitality" actually means might go a long way for him. Good food is one thing, but how you make people feel matters more. And today, Geoffrey made two loyal customers feel like a nuisance for asking a simple, reasonable favor. read more

First time trying the PAPPARDELLE NAPOLETANA. Pasta almost tastes fresh, but possibly frozen since it clumped together heavily. Sauce is savory and semi hearty. Not sure why there was penne mixed in with my pappardelle. It made me think 1 of 2 things: The incorrect pasta was used and then the cook haphazardly took some out and replaced it with the correct pasta. Or They ran out of enough pappardelle and tossed in some penne? Either way, very little care put into my dish. Love how Delarosa really fits the vibe of the whole plaza! [Margherita pizza with burrata] The pizza was 6 slices and a good size so that you could finish it in one sitting or save 1-2 slices for later! But, it tasted so good, I didn't want to stop! I haven't had pizza with burrata cheese before, but this made me really want to try the cheese in everything now. The cheese had a light flavor that didn't come off too strong that had a nice saltiness. It had more of a soft, runny texture which the pizza dough held up well. It was really thin crust, so even with the large amount of cheese on it, you didn't feel too full. Overall, it was definitely a nicer quality pizza than you'd get it at other chains, which accounts into its cost ~$20 total. I'd go here for a fun lunch or dinner with friends! read more

We were sat in the sun, and when asked if we could get an umbrella the Manager said "we told you it would be in the sun and we cannot give you an umbrella because it would block the aisle for ADA compliance". We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday with some friends. It was supposed to be a surprise party not everyone was running late due to traffic but we got seated and ordered drinks while waiting. Our server was fantastic. She took really great care of us. We came here after coming from the VR experience. This was the first time eating here. First, I would like to say I am disappointed with the customer service as we were seated immediately but constantly watching staff walk past and nobody walking over to take our order. There were 5 waiters not busy but just walking by avoiding eye contact. We asked the host twice if anyone would come take our order and she said she could have someone come over. I finally had to get up and walk over to the host and ask her once again if anyone would be coming to take our order. Natalie was the one who eventually walked over to take our order; which didn't seem like she was assigned to our table. Which she seemed to be management maybe I am unsure. I feel like we were discriminated against as we were black. I definitely will not be returning as living in such a cruel world as is I would not want to go somewhere and further experience negativity and hatred. The white boy brought the food out and did not say hello, ask where the food was going, and just placed the food on the table. He was putting the pizza on the table and was placing it on top of a hot water cup without asking for anyone to movie the cup. I asked him do you want someone to move the cup because you aren't using your words. He gone make a comment "it don't matter." He got snarky and walked away. If the hot water would have spilled it would have got on my niece and what would he have done. We would have had a problem, I know that for sure. If he didn't want to help or has a problem with black people he should have asked not to help. They placed both pizzas on one stand when they were for 2 different people. He didn't offer to bring another stand out or bring plates for the pizza, he just walked away. I had to take the top pizza off the stand and place it on another stand. Mind you the pan was HOT. If I could given no stars I would but the only saving grace was the flavor of the pizza. The crust could have been crispier. The belly of it was soggy and floppy. I had to once again walk up to Natalie and ask for boxes. When the check came they wanted to keep checking in to see if we needed help but failed to be attentive when coming to take our order, bringing our food, or even checking in on us once we had our food but you can make sure we have money to pay. I have never been so upset with eating somewhere before. I wanted to add in case people might be questioning. No, the restaurant was not busy at all. I watched the white boy texting on his phone, an Asian girl folding napkins looking at us as in a mean way if they were talking about us, and another staff prepping items in the bar. Had a great lunch today with excellent service from Meredith! My friend and I shared the fried cauliflower with lemon aioli and the roasted beet salad with salmon. Both dishes were delicious! The cauliflower came to the table hot and perfectly crisped and the salad was very flavorful with just the right amount of dressing. The grilled steak skewer dish was very good as well, but not the largest portion of steak. We had made a reservation in advance for an inside table- they refused to seat us inside and would not honor the reservation- they kept insisting we sit outside even though we saw multiple tables inside that were empty. We felt extremely unwelcomed and they refused to provide service- definitely seemed racially motivated (even noticed they sat all the "diverse" customers outside). Would NOT recommend. You need to pay your employees fair wage instead of having patrons foot the bill. Or just raise your menu price, like a $7 soda instead of $6.
