Been wanting to try this place for a while and I'm glad I did! I parked around a block behind the place, near the Alhambra library. The place is somewhat an Indian fusion place but still very traditional. All the food were hot fresh and bursting in flavors ! Second time here. Get three things for sure. The saag paneer, the saffron rice and the garlic naan. Best I've ever tasted...and that goes for food in India, including Delhi. However, everything is basically a la carte and doesn't come with rice. The lunch special is most economical dish on the menu. But you'll have to add on in order to get saffron rice and the garlic naan...so it adds up. Wish the prices were lower. Or they add rice to create better value. We were there from noon to 2 pm., we were the only customers...and the first time, it was the same....makes you feel special, like it's a private restaurant open just for you...but... Came here during the Lunar New Year festival. It wasn't too busy and we got seated right away. There was one girl tending to the tables and maybe like 10 guests inside. Between the 3 of us, we ordered 2 orders of samosas (2 pc/order), cauliflower and potato, chicken tikka masala, plain rice and garlic naan. The samosa was def my fave, it was fresh and crispy and seasoned very well. The cauliflower and potato was ok, it was way more potato than cauliflower. The tikka masala was not the best I've had - just something missing that I couldn't quite put my finger on and they kind of skimped on the amount of chicken. Service was probably the worst part of the experience. While the waitress was nice enough, she didn't come by our table even once and I had to go up and ask her to refill our water. She seemed to not pay any attention to any of the tables and spent her time drying dishes and just staying near the beverage fountain. While I think they were understaffed, again she paid zero attention and we had to flag her to get takeout boxes and the bill and I had to bring the credit card up to her. I might as well have just done all the work myself. Overall would not come back. The food was just decent but the service left a lot to be desired. We were feeling Indian tonight and strolled over to Delhi Belly after the city tree lighting ceremony. The interior is nice and welcoming however the music was a bit too clubby for my liking. It was a Friday night however so maybe that's the vibe? Overall the food was good. In my opinion the chicken tikka masala was above average however my wife and mother in law thought the saag paneer was average or perhaps below even. The chicken kebab skewers were good too. Juicy and a bit spicy which was disappointing because we ordered that for the kids but there was no warning about the spiciness for the young kids...proly our fault for not asking. My main gripe was that I ordered an on tap beer and I received a 3/4 pint pour(see photo). Two things first: the flower is edible! The food makes it the best Indian restaurant in LA. Details: Tucked away on Main Street Alhambra, this is hands down the best Indian restaurant in LA. The quality of the food is amazing - the paneer is likely made in house because it is always fresh. Try the Saag Burrata - it's amazing and a great twist to the usual Saag Paneer you get everywhere else - has a nutty finish that's very unique. The ambience is beyond great - not the typical dark room Indian restaurant. They've done great lengths to make it very welcoming and contemporary- the wood chunks on the wall add to the decor! Was clearly designed. The service? Top notch. The chef is an amazing guy - he steps out of the kitchen to speak to patrons and checks in. He's worked in Bangalore, Calcutta and I think the Middle East - we're lucky to have him here! Please go. Don't expect it to be one of the typical restaurants with a ton of food like in a buffet style - this isn't the place for that! It's top notch and top quality Indian food. Give it a spin. read more

Anisha took very good care of us. The atmosphere here was very welcoming and pleasant. It feels like a well-rounded and good entry level Tikka Masala compared to the same dish I've had elsewhere. The spices/seasonings are present but shouldn't be too harsh for people without compromising on the classic flavor of a Tikka. The bits of paneer, chili, and onions were perfect. Stuffed Mushroom Caps - I wasn't expecting it to be tangy/tart but there's a lemon/citrus blast to these. They were okay but I probably wouldn't get them again. I only ate one full cap while my family had the rest. Naans - I love naan so much. The softness, the chew, and the crispy bubbles are amaaazing. The ghee garlic naan was solid. The surprising one was the rosemary!! The herb can be quite strong but it adds a depth to your meal while eating it with the curries. It may not be for everyone since it could feel overpowering but I think it's delicious. Pani puri - Personally, I prefer the casual dip method than pouring it in but it's more aesthetic and hygienic this way! The water does have a spice kick to it and is overall just savory and tart from the tamarind. The filling is satisfying and the shells were crisp and crunchy. Mango Lassi - Thick, sweet, and creamy! Upon my arrival, I noticed that only one couple was there, and they soon left. The waitress, who was the sole waitress/server, was pleasant! I ordered the vegetarian Coconut Pumpkin Curry (made with mustard seed curry leaf coconut milk), along with garlic naan and saffron rice. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were quite generous. It made for a wonderful evening, and we didn't feel rushed at all. The only thing worth mentioning is that as more people started arriving, the waitress couldn't check on us, and I found myself needing a refill of water due to the spiciness of the dish (I can't take spicy foods heh ). However, I understand that she was the only waitress, and two large parties arrived after us. Nevertheless, this is not a big deal. One other minor issue I noticed was that the lids for the takeout containers didn't close properly. I hope they can address this in the future, but it's not a major concern. Frankly one of the best Indian restaurants in the SGV. The curries on the menu are unique, extremely flavorful, with generous portions of meat and/or veg. We got the following items: Starters: Crispy cauliflower bites: 3/5 these were tasty and well made, but I wish there was more flavoring in the batter itself. Today my boyfriend and I went to try out their special lunch. $14 for a meal consisting of salad, dal, rice, and one of four choices of entrées. I thought it was very good, and preferred my boyfriend's butter chicken over my Swai fish curry. But my fish was good, too. And I did eat at all. You'll have to g round to the front. They have many tables for indoor dining. Went with a large group and they were very accommodating.
