This place is good if you are trying to grab a quick bite to eat. The day I went there was a long line but it went by pretty fast. I was nervous they would be out of certain things since it was past normal lunch hour but everything was stocked well and seemed very fresh. The place itself is very small and narrow with not really any sit down and everything is put in Togo containers for you to take wherever you go. Most of the foods come in orders of 3 for about ~2$ more or less. So I was able to get 4 dishes for 10$. NOTE: if your order is under 10$ it has to be cash. Visited Chinatown today in San Francisco and while walking around we decided to give this place a try, seeing their 4 stars on yelp. Its a quintessential hole in the wall. Easy to miss except for the huge line going out the door. But inside they have their counter full of different dim sums, 1 small table in the corner and 3 chairs to sit and wait for to go orders. Then a little kitchen in the back to make the dimsum. A truly authentic chinese dimsum place without the hastle of the push cart ladies trying to dump more dishes on you. Everyine who works here is from china, and when you know many of the people buying dimsum are local chinese people, this place must be good. Freshly made, as the cook in the back was continuously bringing more dimsums from the back. They have a good selection of different dimsums, from shumais to buns to dumplings to spring rolls to chicken feet to seasame balls and others. They have a total of 34 items. And the pricing is very cheap, many of them being around $2.30 for 3 pieces. The actual food is really good, and I can see why they have a 4 star rating!! Extremely hot. Not too oily unless you get the seasame ball. Flavors are good. Lots of shrimp in the different shrimp dimsums. Just tasted so good. They prefer cash but you can use card on orders of $10 or more. I woke up and the thought kept nagging at me like a child repeatedly chanting for a cookie: We had to get dim sum today. I surfed Yelp and headed to Chinatown. A few blocks in, I smacked my forehead, realizing Saturday is market day, I should know better but we were committed (and hopefully *I* wouldn't be committed after searching for parking in the very heart of Chinatown). It only took 4 times around the block which, given the primetime food shopping day, I considered a stroke of unbelievable good luck. My child has amazing parking karma! All the signage was in Cantonese. And a line quickly forming outside the door, everyone was Asian. Good sign. We bought a surfeit of things, an embarrassment, really: 2 orders each ha gao, shrimp with chives, shrimp with veggies, 1 order each BBQ pork buns, shanghai dumplings and 2 sesame balls and 3 orders of shu mai and one of this gelatinous noodle thing which after one bite, I'm still not sure what it is and what it's filled with. The unsmiling lady behind the counter produced her trusty, scotch-taped, broken screen calculator as I readied a couple of $20 bills. I was stunned when she said, "$18.46." Are you KIDDING me? I was wondering if that little calculator was truly broken and not just suffering from a cracked screen. Less than $20 for all of that? Some wrappers -especially on the Shanghai dumplings - were a little thick and chewy, the BBQ pork puns (steamed only, no baked) the bun too sticky and flavorless but oh, the filling inside was savory and incredible. All the flavors were fantastic and each dumpling, generously overstuffed with big chunks of shrimp, lots of spinach, heaping portions of of succulent minced pork and ginger. And the SIZE of these dumplings, oh my goodness! Any dim sum you've ever seen? Double the size. The sesame ball, for example, was nearly the size of a tennis ball (my little boy ate both, but I had a taste and it was fantastic). There was no seating, just a utility table at the back of the place that appears to be used for packing up "to-go" orders. I thought seating was limited but no, it's non-existent. No matter, we were just as happy headed home to tuck into our buffet of delicious dim sum. I'd definitely go back but not on market day. My bf and I wanted to support small business during COVID but Christmas time, usually Chinese restaurant are open so we decided to help out the small business during these times. For a small dimsum fast take away food, it's so good. Everything we ordered met our expectation. Shumai was very meaty and flavorful. The radish cake, perfect, soft and right amount of flavor. A lot of places makes it salty but this place makes it perfect, shrimp rice noodle roll, soft noodle and the shrimp wasn't a rubbery texture and the flavor was not lacking in it either. Chives &shrimp dumpling, wow seriously one of the best I've had so far ! Last thing to wrap up this long review, everything is big, the portion is phenomenal, flavor is actually there and it's cheap, all that we order total came out less than 20 bucks ! Maybe I'm blind or maybe I'm just more forgiving, but whatever the reason, I can't agree with my Yelper pals on this one, and I've still gotta give lots of love to Delicious Dim Sum. Anytime we visit SF, this is the last stop I make before heading to the airport or hitting the road. It's a tradition my wife and I started, and one adapted and carried on with a good Yelp friend a few years ago. This tradition has gotten so popular in fact that this year we attracted other awesome people from around the globe to share in the experience! This year we even found a sweet park where we could sit and enjoy them while watching morning Tai Chi! We come to Delicious Dim Sum for dumplings. Steamed or fried. Rice skin or wheat dough. It doesn't matter as long as it's a dumpling. My favorites include thd shrimp and chive, hargow (shrimp in rice skin), beef shumai, shark fin (which I'm not sure actually has the namesake ingredient and is more pork and shrimp), and the smaller round ones filled with Chinese green vegetables. I always get enough to enjoy in the spot and then enough to bring home to share with the wife and freeze for a later date. You can get 1 of this and one of that, and it's so affordable it's a joke. About 40-50 pieces topped the charts at $32! To the uninitiated, Chinese dumplings may all seem the same, and to be honest, I never really knew why these were the best either, but this year it all came together. I got my usual order, and then picked up some dumplings at another shop as well. Comparing the two was night and day. The skins on the dumplings at Delicious are so thin and delicate that you can see right through them. They're barely holding all of the delectable fillings in, which means with each bite you're tasting mainly what's inside. It also shows a level of skill in how they're made, which you can see if you glance into the kitchen. The ones from the other shop... thick, opaque, and definitely more chewy. Now one of my friends mentioned questionable food handling and holding they observed, specifically flies molesting some of the delicious buns. My response... Thats all part of the authentic Chinatown experience! Just glance around any of the small markets in the area and you'll see plenty of things that make you scratch your head, but It's the uncertainty and unknown aspects that make the experience! Another friend mentioned a greasy red bean sesame ball. My response... PRO-TIP: Delicious Dim Sum is all about the dumplings. Steer clear of anything not in a steamer tray at this spot because better can be had very nearby. Even the "potstickers" are quite doughy and not that great, but when you go you'll notice they're not in the steamer ;) Overall, Delicious is still my spot and if you stick to my list and tips, you'll love it too. I highly recommend finding the park to sit in. It adds to the overall experience. Don't feed the pigeons though. It'll be like a scene out of a Hitchcock film. read more

Great place! I got a set of pork siu Mai, shrimp dumplings, sticky rice with chicken, char siu Bao, custard bao & red bean puff and thousand egg puff for $16.6 total! What a great price. I love their siu mai and shrimp dumplings. Their char siu bao was huge but with little fillings. It's understandable given the price, but personally I would prefer having the size smaller so that the pork-bun ratio would be better. I was hungry so I started eating part of my take-away food in store. The staff was very nice that she came over to offer a better soy sauce and chatted with me. I told her I came from NY and she asked me about housing in NY. I complained about the Wall Street people pushing the rent & sale market high while she accused the local tech people for the same thing haha! It was such a fun and informative conversation. first time trying and i love this place!! appropriate safety precautions were taken - workers were masked and wearing gloves while handling food and only one customer was allowed in store at a time. we got a boxful of dim sum, lotus leaf wrap, and chinese sausage buns. all were amazing and for their prices you really can't go wrong! i was also really surprised by the size of the foods! the siu mai are HUGE and the chinese sausage buns are big!! i was thinking they would be similar to the ones you get at dim sum restaurants but they are a lot bigger and you get 3 heheh these small businesses are hit hard during such rough times so i highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area :)) read more

Always hyped to try out new dimsum places in SF because I feel like I'm still looking for my go-to. I had been to Good Mong Kok and thought this place would be similar since it had good reviews and was also a to-go place. The nice thing about this place is that there isn't a line and there's a bit of seating. However I was sad that all the things we ordered weren't hot :( everything was a bit lukewarm. The food wasn't hot and didn't taste very fresh. The one thing was super great was the shrimp dumpling. Also the woman that was serving us I think misunderstood and gave us one of the wrong items instead of the one we'd ordered. Even more sadly, the one she gave us was like a bun with yellow custard inside and the white part of the bun was SO dry. Literally couldn't finish it. Normally I would be edgy of trying any place that calls itself Delicious, but this place is simply beautiful. The ladies in this store have been doing this forever, as evidenced by the extremely crappy and worn out interior and equipment. If you look in the back you can see them making the dim sum by hand. Dim sum here only costs 60c a piece! You can walk in with $5 and be set for the day. In true Asian style, the food also comes served in these wonderful plastic bags. Compared to some of the other takeout dim sum places in this area (see my other reviews), this one seems to be the best one. By far. Next time I'm in San Fran, this is definitely on my list. Though it might not be the best dim sum I've ever had, but for something that you can grab and go within 2 minutes, that's not bad at all. Cash Only and very limited seating! The inside table only seats like 6 people max, so you'll have to get it to go and enjoy it elsewhere. My best tip? Been living in the city for about 7 years now and this is the place to go if you want fast, delicious dim sum. They have a large variety on the menu including your typical pork and shrimp shu mai, egg rolls, potstickers, pork buns, and soup dumplings. All of their food is always freshly made. Every time I go they bring out fresh batches of dumplings within minutes. What's better than freshly made, piping hot dumplings?! One of the stand-outs to me is the pork soup dumpling, yum! Everything was so warm and delicious - even better than a lot of take-out dim sum places I've been to! The sesame balls and ham sui gok were flaky on the outside, and chewy and savory on the inside. The har gao was very soft and the flavors were great. The bbq pork buns were not the best I've ever tried as the pork to bun ratio was off, but everything else was perfect. One dim sum spot was not enough. After trying another shop, we (ok, ME)wanted to try more to compare and really get our dim sum fill before returning home where dim sum options are almost non-existent. Delicious Dim Sum is located right across of the Gold Gate Fortune Cookie Company, so it's really convenient to just hop across the way and get your dim sum fix. The shop is small, but surprisingly had a few tables inside. It's also nice and clean and fortunately for us had no line at all when we came in. The menu is printed on the cupboards and everything is priced so reasonably like many other places in Chinatown. Again, I got a pork dumpling, a BBQ pork bun, pan fried chives dumpling, & some others I don't remember. Too busy eating, I forgot to take photos. Hehe. They did have some unique (to me) offerings like shark fin dumplings, but I'll have to try those on another trip. Anywho, the pork dumpling. Oh my yum! Their version edged out another establishments by just a smidgen. Flavors were similar, but this one didn't taste as "porky" and the filing was also generous. The pork bun was also pretty good & reminded me of our manapuas back home in Hawaii! Even though they're not a sit down restaurant by any means, you can drop it, order (or point at what you want) and you're OTD (OUT THE DOOR) in like 5 minutes (depending on the crowd). There were a couple of ladies behind the counter both looking annoyed so we (non-Chinese) ordered quick and shy-ed away from being picky. The Har Gow, Siu Mai, shrimp rice noodles, BBQ pork bao and fried dumplings were all good. I love the concept of grab-n-go dim sum because you can enjoy a ton of different pieces while going solo, you don't have to wait around for a cart pusher and it's hella cheap. However, the downside is that some pre-made items don't keep well when made in advance; the crispy stuff gets soft and the soup dumplings lose their soupiness. Also, things can get difficult if trying to setup a dipping sauce while outside on a park bench. There was no English menu in sight, just a bunch of Chinese written above the counter. So look at the Yelp photos ahead of time to get the names of things that look good to you (or just call out your usual dim sum favorites). All things considered, still a tasty and cheap lunch option if it's a nice enough day to enjoy some dumplings outside in Portsmouth Square Plaza. Xiao Long Bao: Tasty and tender pork filling (much more so than the pork shumai), but no soup inside. But that's what happens when your xiao long bao sits around for a bit. Pan Fried Shrimp & Chive Dumpling: Tasty filling, but not the fried side was not that crispy. Probably got soggy sitting around all its steamy neighbors. Pork Shumai: A coarser mince than the pork in the xiao long bao. One of them had an unpleasantly gristly component. Steamed Pork Bun: Tasty roast pork and sauce instead. A little too much bread-to-meat for my tastes. Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll: Bleh. Too much rice noodle roll compared to filling. In fact, the only filling consisted of 4 small shrimp. read more
