Beautiful Christmas decorations! We came in and seemed like everything was out of stock: soup, meatballs. It would be the best customer service to have more ingredients in stock at 8pm. Service was very good though.

Overall a very pleasant experience. Huge menu with a ton of options for all diets. Food came quickly, and was tasty. Service was great, they had initially forgotten butter on my pancakes but immediately recognized it was missing upon delivery to the table, and ended up giving me a bunch on the side. What more could you want from Denny's?

Denny's definitely late, late night or early, early morning as it is 1:56 AM

Well wanted to write this up not so much for the food but the service. I was going to stop at Giant Burger - but this one was closed - right near by is a Denny's. All I really wanted was a cup of coffee to drink for the next hour to drive home. I wouldn't exactly say the coffee at Denny's is gourmet - but Starbucks ruined the ability to get a decent cup of Joe at an inexpensive price. The coffee at Denny's is drinkable - if you put enough creamer and sweetener in it. I like the breakfast at Denny's much more than the coffee. However the woman who was working was awesome - she gave me great service - and I appreciated it this late at night. I think it's so weird how are it is to find a place with great coffee after around 1-2 in the afternoon - . So you take what you can get. The marine layer from the bay was very cold and pushing it's way into the interior of California - so I wanted a hot coffee - Denny's was the only place open around the off ramp - well there is a bar that was open - but closed after 2 AM and last thing in the world I wanted was something with alcohol in it - so thanks Denny's for being open and shame on you Star - mucho - bucks for not being open.

We came on a Sunday after dining at a Thai restaurant for our anniversary. We didn't feel like having Thai dessert . But rather , we craved for some American desserts like Brownie a la mode! So we decided to visit Denny's to have my dessert fix! We got there around 8:30pm and there was only one table occupied so it was nice and quiet. Our server was Francisco and he was very welcoming and kind. We ordered an Oreo shake, 1 brownie sundae, 1 apple crisp to share among 4 people. Since we were already full from our Thai dinner, we didn't want to have too much dessert. But still, didn't want to order too little. But Francisco might have thought we haven't eaten yet, so for the apple crisp, he gave us 3 huge scoop of ice cream!!! The picture in the menu was just 1 scoop! The ice cream on top of the brownie was also huge! So instead of 2 ice cream, we got 4 big generous scoop. 1 per person on top of the big Oreo shake! Each dessert was less than $6 each and the total was $19 ! One of the Thai dessert would have been $12-$17!! Thanks Francisco for giving us a memorable and joyous anniversary! Highly recommend this Denny's!

Fast friendly service. Food was good, waiter was accommodating with providing food extra plates so we could all share. Vibe at 1am was chill.

Don't ever get a milkshake to go. This thing was $8 and is the size of those free water cups you get at fast food places. Extra star because the lady that works graveyard is very nice and I'm sure she didn't decide the sizes.

This was a choice and it's unfortunate...

Just disappointed I ordered food to go and it was given to me this way. I chose ordering there over a fast food restaurant and couldn't even eat my food. I took a picture of how burnt the food was and you can visibly see it was cooked in old grease. I never complain but who packs someone's food like that? I have managed restaurants for years and this was a choice. As a customer I much rather waited longer for edible food which is what I thought I was doing by choosing a restaurant over a drive thru. Please do better by your customers in the future.

We were looking for a late-night dinner in the area. First time eating at this location. Upon arrival- it was clean. We were greeted right away and we were told to pick anywhere to sit. It was not too busy. We had an attentive server. We placed our orders: sampler, ultimate omelet, moons over hammy, chocohanna pancakes, Jr. cheeseburger, and cheeseburger. My husband and I had a few bites into the omelet and the regular cheeseburger. We noticed that our orders were not correct. We were given the Veggie omelet. The cheeseburger was not cooked thoroughly, and it had the wrong cheese. We spoke with our server and he confirmed it was incorrect. He would have the cook redo the orders. By the time it came, we were already "full", our appetites had came and left. We tried eating a few bites. Upon checking out, the cashier was rude. Unfortunately, she was busy looking at her watch.

I ordered the crab cake Benedict with my Paloma mimosa. The other plates in my table consisted of the country fried steak and chilaquiles which were both great and enjoyed. We had our table our chit chat, ordered pancakes for dessert and overall we enjoyed the environment, speed of food being served and attentive service provided by the restaurant servers.

Pretty small inside where you can hear the conversation of people next to you, but definitely feels homey. Service was attentive and standard for a traditional breakfast spot. We got the buttermilk pancakes and steak ranchero omelette. The pancakes were soft and fluffy. The omelette had decent chunks of cubed steak inside, and was fairly large. The salsa they added and maybe leftover moisture from the omelette components did make it a bit runny/soggy. Hash browns were decently crispy. Not a bad spot if you're in a rush for breakfast. I'd probably prefer Denica's.

While the menu prices haven't been escalated as much as at other restaurants, the portion sizes seemed noticeably smaller than on my prior visits many years ago. That's not necessarily a bad thing, however, as having reasonable portions prevents food waste. I came in for the diner classics, starting with the Santa Maria Tri-Tip, 10 ounces of marinated tri-tip; the Roasted Turkey, 8 ounces of white meat turkey doused in a salty gravy and served with cranberry sauce; and the Blackened Salmon, a wild Pacific fillet seasoned with Cajun spices. My favorite of these was the tri-tip, cooked to a juicy medium, just as I had requested. The plates were served with salad and a selection of sides, and the broccoli/carrots and homemade biscuits were highlights. I also had the Taco Salad, a mixture of lettuce, tomato, onion, olives, pickled jalapeños, avocado, shredded cheddar and jack cheeses, salsa, and grilled chicken breast, all served in an oversized fried taco shell lined with refried beans. The olives, jalapeños, and salsa gave this salad a flavor punch--a nice south of the border-inspired dish! Overall, the food here was decent though not outstanding, and the diner vibes were quaint and familiar. The service was quick and friendly, and the prices were reasonable--just don't expect the same portion sizes you might have found at Big Bear long ago.

For anyone coming, the parking can be really bad as it shares probably 20 or so spots with several other restaurants. It's near impossible to park nearby with the alternative of parking near the Panera's or even the target. There's plenty of tables and seats inside, and it was pretty slow when we dined in. Convenient televisions on two different sides where all the workers were casually watching, and quite the chatter in the kitchen where they're all watching the World Cup. That doesn't really affect service however as they're quite attentive when called for. We ordered the salted fish and chicken fried rice, and the medium bbq platter with char sound soy sauce chicken. All very delicious! The only thing is that they can bit on the pricier side with $20 for the fried rice and $30 for the bbq plate. Overall, I thought grand cafe definitely scratched our itch for Cantonese style dining experience. It typically comes with great food, good service, and a bit of nostalgia from being from the Bay Area.
