Denny's is a place with a lot of sentimental value to me, but I understand that the food is subpar and the service is as well. I do like that they introduced value slams to counterbalance the more expensive items on the menu, so kudos for that. However, when I'm supposed to get two pieces of bacon and the picture is what I get, that's bad, even for Denny's. Shame on the cook for thinking that's acceptable. Shame on the waiter for looking at it and not being embarrassed to serve that. This is the lack of quality control that gives Denny's a bad reputation. While here in Pleasanton attending the GOODGUYS Car Show we were here for 5 days. We went to IHOP and it took forever and they don't open until 7:00am. So my bright idea was to stop by DENNYS. I figured they are open 24/7 so we could get to the car show on time. We arrived to the restaurant at 6:30 and noticed they is only ONE SERVER!! The place was not too packed so what's the worst that could happen? Well the poor single server trying his best can't keep up. Fanciest Dennys I've ever been to! It's so cozy and spacious but perfect for families or couples. The service was amazing, waiter checked on us frequently and refilled our waters. Place was super clean and staff was very welcoming. We stopped by again for Valentines Day Brunch and all the staff and the place was super festive and dressed up. The food came out quickly, granted I came with just my partner so we don't normally have issues waiting for food but it was so good. They also revamped a lot of their dining experiences and even have bottomless mimosas and a whole new brunch experience. The have a lot of new menu options that I'm looking forward to trying. read more

The newly constructed Dennys on Hopyard in Pleasanton, store #9642 has beautiful decor, ample seating inside and outside, friendly and courteous staff. I had a problem with accessing my birthday reward and Denny's staff went above and beyond the normal customer service inquiry, from the online response, the DM calling me, and the manger Maria handling my order and request. Food was alright When it came close to the end, our cashier kept looking at me and my grandmothers table when we asked for water and then the bill, once she handed us the receipt she kept looking at our table while we were trying to pay, then once we we were ready to leave, the money was on the table under the receipt including the tip. The crazy part is, when we left to our car, she had a side conversation with her co-worker and then followed us out and accused us of not paying. when we went back in to show her, the money was on the table but it was moved, so someone knew that we payed. First time here since they opened here at this location. Saw the sign for the BLT & E. Was super hungry so I was excited. Unfortunately it was nothing like the picture. Artesian bread is just cold sourdough bread, non toasted. They did not skimp on the bacon which I appreciated. The bacon jam was delicious, only one slice of tomato on one half of sandwich and for the lettuce, it was a bit of what would be used on a side salad, mostly bits of the core. Had it been made as described it would have been amazing. Our server never came to check in on us to see how everything was so we couldn't make it right. read more

Yay! Can't tell you how happy I am that Denny's is making a come back! Came here this morning for breakfast with my family. I had no idea that today was their grand opening! They were fully staffed, with a bunch of corporate workers (? Just assuming here... they were super dressed up). Everyone was very friendly and attentive. This new location is large, spacious, and airy. They also have outdoor dining! Definitely a huge upgrade from the previous Denny's that existed across the street a few years ago. I ordered the strawberry, banana, & blueberry pancakes which came with eggs, bacon/sausage, and hash browns. It was yummy and filled me up! I've missed Denny's and will definitely be back! read more

Returned to Denny's for breakfast my sister and I. So happy to have Javier & newcomer server named Jack seat & service us. They both were awesome. Both extremely friendly and made us feel very comfortable. Tried their new bacon and it was delicious. It was thick and flavorful. Food was good as usual. Had the French toast Slam and my sister had the 55 starter. The restaurant was very clean and it was nice to see the manager Jerry cleaning the restaurant making sure it was presentable for customers and making sure the restaurant was running smoothly. He's awesome and also very friendly and makes you feel comfortable. This restaurant is still #1 in my book. read more

I came by today for brunch with my husband and stepson. Our initial impression was that it definitely has a new, modern look, unlike older Denny's diner, but you can't judge a book by its cover. Service: there was no wait and we were quickly seated. We were asked if we had a child, which we did. Surprisingly we were only given two adult menus, and no child's menu. The server was really friendly, attentive, and assisted in us choosing our meals. However, as the meal progressed I realized the she wasn't as attentive as I thought. For drinks we ordered: coffee, waters, and a cake batter milkshake. Coffee was fresh and the cake batter milkshake was loved For entrees we ordered: country fried stake, a kids pancake stack, and the double berry banana pancake breakfast. Wait for food: we waited about 20 mins for our food to arrive. Food: We didn't receive silver ware, syrup, or ketchup and when our food was served. So, it took a minute to be able to eat. We also realized that we ordered bananas as a side for the kids meal, but we received grapes. Since we were in a bit of a hurry we didn't complain. It just wasn't worth the little time we had left. Came back from a flight with the family, and decided to eat here. The food took a while to get here but it was justifiable because of how many people we had. The only thing that I disliked was that the fruit that came with my order had a hair in it . I asked our waiter to change it and he did but the second couple through look like it was in there for a couple weeks. It looks like if it was slimy. read more

Of course depends on what day/weekend however seen lots of customers in line who ended up just leaving because nobody was helping them. Need to hire more staff. Horrible service. Not one server came to my table. After a substantial wait I flagged down the person who sat me at the table (who happened to be the manager). She apologized & then took my order which took forever. I had to go to the front desk to check on it. She eventually brought it. All the servers could have cared less that I wasn't being helped. The meal deserved to be comped. Because it wasn't I felt this review was warranted. As an elderly person this was a really awful experience. Dennys on hopyard has 1 great server in the mornings. Javier always greats people with a smile . He remembers your drink preferences and food choices. Once in awhile recommends something else for you to try. My husband's favorite is the Santa Fe skillet. Plus he refills his iced tea in a timely manner. This Denny's is incredible! First of all, let me say I've been a fan of Denny's for years but this Denny's definitely rates five stars! When you walk in, it literally has a the feel of a "ski lodge." The ambiance is just incredible! Everything about it is sparkling clean! The prices are a bargain and the beer, on tap, is not only bargain priced but super cold and delicious! Food - as expected in this type of establishment. Ambiance - as expected in this type of establishment. Service - lacking...both in the table service and upper management!! BECAUSE: 1. A sign in the lobby advertised a pancake upgrade for $2.99. Our server did not honor that price...saying it was $3.59 on the menu! I told her about the sign in the lobby, so she checked her tablet...and informed me that the pancake upgrade was $3.79!! So as to not have an argument...we decided against this breakfast option. 2. I contacted Denny's corporate about this issue on 3-1-24. They responded that the management at the Pleasanton location would contact in 3-5 days. However, 14 days later, I still had not heard from them so I notified corporate AGAIN! Customer service responded by apologizing, stating they would escalate the issue, and I should hear from the upper management at that location within 48 hours...this was on 3-13-24! Unfortunately, I never heard from them, so I had to leave this review! So, not only did Dennys lose the additional profit on the pancake upgrade, they also lost my continued patronage! read more

Ruth was our server and she was very polite, personable but also professional. She's new but I couldn't even tell. As for the food itself, some toast was burnt and the kids mac and cheese was dry. But considering it was a party of 8 (7 adults and an infant), the rest of the orders were pretty good. The location is nice, I mean it's in Dublin!
