Several teenagers with several of us parents went to this Dennys on a Friday night. Kids had their own table. Service to them was delayed way too long. I sat in a booth hoping to get service but a male Hispanic server who would not even address us and would not even look at us. Definitely this guy had a bad attitude. It took well over an hour for the kids to get food. My wife and I left and went to Lampost and waited for the kids to get done. I would hope I never get stuck going back to this restaurant. My lazy days usually consist of eating brunch at a causal local place -- and the Denny's fits the bill. This is located is surprisingly operates 24/7. There's ample amount of parking. Upon entering, we were quickly greeted and seated. There's plenty of booths, tables and two "semi-private" area for bigger parties. The friendly server came promptly and took out orders. Our food arrived promptly less than 15 minutes. It was refreshing, the local manager made an effort to stopped by to check on our services. I give this place a thumbs-up for hospitality. The menu items is exactly what I remembered -- lots of breakfast options including "build your own plate". There's a new item of adding a stack of caramel cream buttermilk pancakes" to any meal for additional $2.99. We ordered the classic slams and omelette. (1) Very Berry Pancakes Plate. It comes with two pancakes generously topped with strawberries, bananas and blueberries. I was surprised it's only two pancakes. I thought stacks usually means 3-4 servings. For a pancake lover this was a bit disappointing. I would've gave up eggs and sausages for extra pancakes. (2) Denver Omelette. It was delicious but wished the fillings were a bit generous on diced red peppers or ham. I like the efficiency whereas check was dropped at our table toward the end of our meal without being asked. You have the option of paying on the Denny's app or like the good old days take the receipt to pay at the front counter. We enjoyed the meal. Consistently the worst breakfast you can have going out. Unfortunately this is the meeting spot for one of the groups I belong to. I don't order all the time, but sometimes I need to eat. Our waitress is AMAZING...love her...but the food is exactly what you would expect from Dennys. Here is the thing. You would think even an entry level Chef can get scrambled eggs right, nope not here. This chef consistently makes one giant omelet. No matter how many ways I asked for them to be made. He will go as far as chopping up an omelet into pieces, with the dark browned side on the bottom. The bacon never comes out well done like I ask. Finally visited my local Dennys & yes we have something that not only closes late but actually NEVER CLOSES in our City. Came to have brunch w a mama friend & her 2 kids along w my youngest kids on a Monday noon. Our server Juvenal was really patient with us. We were seated right away. We thought parking was going to be an issue but it's been ok so far every time we drive by. We came here for our Saturday brunch and there was no wait and the restaurant was buzzing. The new Denny's in Yorba Linda is a very pleasant surprise! The dining room is decorated with a contemporary flair and their spin on the traditional diner-counter seating is genius for maximizing space while still creating a fun dining experience. So I don't know if it's just because I haven't been to a Denny's in a while or what, but the menu selection is not what I remember it to be. The classic Denny's options like the Grand Slam plates are still on the menu, but some new things have been added that are pretty darn tasty! We chose the Brisk-it-all sandwich and the Slamburger, both with over easy eggs and my oh my, I consider both of them to be craveable in my near future! Our server, Yolanda, was friendly and attentive and we hope to sit in her area again when we return. Give 'em a try. I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised, too! read more

On Jan 12, 2025 we went to Denny's in Yorba Linda. We arrived at 10:30, and were seated immediately. After our order was taken it was at least 30 minutes before our food arrived. We'll five out of six were served. My granddaughter had not received her meal. Our server must have gone on break. I finally was able to get the managers attention and asked what happened to my granddaughter daughter's order. Meanwhile there was a plate of food sitting on the shelf between the cooks and servers. She walked over grabbed the plate and brought it to our table and sat it in front of my granddaughter. My granddaughter grabbed a French fry and started eating it. The manager rushed back over reached for the plate and said it was not for her and said it was another customers order. My granddaughter placed the half eaten fry on the plate. The manager who took the plate then handed it to the waiter and told him to deliver it to another customer, he did. After finishing our meal I called the manager over and asked why she served the dinner that originally was served to my granddaughter directly to another customer with a half eaten fry on it? She replied she had changed the plate. I snapped back saying,"no you didn't, you took the plate from my granddaughter and handed it to the server and told him to deliver it to another customer." She walked away quickly. When she returned she offered my granddaughter daughter a free desert. I told the waiter to apply the desert cost to the bill. There were two birthdays at our table but we were told birthday slam breakfast are not done anymore. For years we have gone to Dennys for the grand slam birthday meal. After the lack of following health code procedures I am pretty certain we won't be visiting Dennys any time soon. I highly suggest if you decide to go to Dennys, sit where you can see your food from kitchen to table. Be aware if management is pulling this stuff she may not be the only one. I love Denny's. It's nice to have a Denny's in YL to take my family to an impromptu breakfast or dinner. This particular Denny's is just okay. I'll have to attribute the mediocrity due to the overwhelming smell of the disinfectant cleaner they use for the tables, seats, floors and bathrooms. It smells like the cheap purple colored cleaner bought at dollar stores. The cleaner is so strong (similar to a urinal cake) that it's all I can smell the minute I walk in the restaurant, and can still smell it when I leave (sticks to your shoes). I know it's not all Denny's, it's partially this one. I hope they fix this. Service is always great. Sometimes slow getting your check but I get up from the table and stand at the register which gets fast response. read more

Service was fast and place looked clean and new with ample lighting (most Denny's I have been to are super dark). The omelet was pretty bland and the amount of jalepenos that was substituted for the mushroom was a bit overkill. I hardly found any spinach inside. Overall I had to use the hot sauce to add some sort of flavoring. My husbands pancakes were banana pecan but they ran out of pecans so we had to do without. It was pretty good. Overall the experience was average. Nothing really stood out. Coming out to over $17/person was a bit much for an ordinary breakfast. read more

I love Denny's and I was excited about the going today because it was my son's school fundraiser through them. Thank you for that. The 2 stars are for the service we received. Of course there was a big group due to fundraiser event and some mishaps was just obvious which whose order etc. My plate was picked up by someone else and I saw the person touching the food but later confirmed it wasn't hers. That same plate was given to me few mins later. What should be the protocol here? You be the judge? I didn't eat my touched food and came home hungry with a bad experience. First time attending this location. I normally would go to Savi, OrangeThorpe or Lincoln locations. Im extremely happy for many reasons. The distance is shorter. The parking is easy accesses. The place is well equipped. It used to be the old Lamppost Pizza location. They have a nice patio for bigger groups. Our server, "Yolanda" was amazing!!! With great customer service! This is not a 5 star restaurant. It's a breakfast diner chain and once you go in knowing what it is you will get exactly what you should have expected. There is a private room right in the front for whatever you want to do- a meeting or a party. There is no charge to use it. This is a great deal. I went on a Wednesday at 2pm when there's a buy an adult entree and get a kids meal free deal going on. We used the private room to have our kids play board games with one another while having lunch. I've now been here 5 or 6 times, just in the past two months. It is close to our home--my wife and I have even walked here a few times, a 4 mile round trip. First, it is located in the old Lamppost Pizza location, on Richfield. It is new and clean and, well, just very nice. There is a mural of Yorba Linda on one wall. There are pictures of vintage Yorba Linda and vintage Denny's restaurants, a nice touch. Second, we have received excellent service from 3 or 4 different servers. We have only come here for breakfast/lunch. I enjoy the basics: pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Their buttermilk pancakes are very fluffy and delicious. My wife has had their burger and, being a burger buff, she says it's very good. They have some nice meal deals. The Everyday Slam breakfast comes in at $7. Perfect for me. To be honest, I've never been a big fan of Denny's. It has been a last resort kind of place for me when traveling. However, this Denny's is really nice and is now a go-to place for my wife and I, both of us recently retired. read more

The YL location is quite boujee - not what I expected at all for a Denny's! The service was stellar, and the food was good. The fries are just weird though. I love the decor (especially the super sized TVs playing sports)! There's plenty of seating. I even noticed a little party room off to the side. I can't believe that I am writing a five-star review for a Denny's. But here we are. This location has been open for about 6 weeks. On the site of the former pizza place. You can see the new Target out the windows. There are Yorba Linda themed decorations. As of right now, it is clean, it is bright, there's a giant TV on one wall. And the food is good for a Denny's. My kids and I really had a good time. Service was fast and attentive and friendly. I honestly could not have had a better time. Remember, it's a Denny's, so it's not gourmet. But if you want some eggs and pancakes, or a sandwich. Go for it, you won't be disappointed here. read more

We come here weekly. It's been great up to now. Sunday was a disappointment. Did you get new cooks? It was Father's Day. We got right in. My granddaughter ordered the kids Mac and cheese . The vibe of the restaurant is definitely uplifting, cheery and fun. Not the downer drab, almost melancholy vibe most Denny's have. With that said, the food we received looked less appetizing then it actually was. I'm an Eggs Benedict snob, and first had a bit of a time trying to explain that I would like poached eggs vs over medium (how it's served) and settled for over easy eggs. They were perfect. The Hollandaise sauce I was sure, was burned and thick upon receiving the plate. The color and texture was nothing like it should be nor advertised, but it was delicious. No complaints. And the ham was nice and thick. My daughter got ChocoBanana pancake combo and subbed fresh fruit vs hash browns for an additional $2.49. Frankly, didn't find her meal to be worth $17, and fruit was mostly bananas and grapes, couple strawberries. Slices of bacon both her and my friend got were shoestrings in size.
