I have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Patel at Dental 2000. I go to his clinic for my routine dental checkups, and when I had a dental emergency in August 2012, he was able to fit me in after regular office hours and fix my chipped tooth and knocked out filling. I haven't had any issues since. I live 40 miles away from the Irvine office and with CA traffic and congestion, this was a concern I had about considering Dental2000 on top of the actual implant procedure. After meeting Dr. Nimish Patel, I was very impressed with his explanation of implants and the patient education (videos) received was very reassuring. Bridgette was very understanding & helpful with my concerns about the insurance & my portion of the patient coverage. She sent over to my insurance the cost of the implant and I am still waiting to hear back to see what my out-of-pocket expense will be before beginning the implant work. She even provided an alternative driving routes to bypass the congested freeway & offered to schedule any appointments around traffic hours. Having recently been a so well-treated and more-than-satisfied client of Dental 2000, and receiving absolutely wonderful treatment under their care, I have ended up with a virtually "brand new mouth", and, once more, the wide, unashamed and confident smile of my youth. I'm a recently retired Post-Graduate University Professor (CSUF), and, like many others, not left with much security in retirement. In fact, for the major work that I needed (more than eight teeth), I first went down to compare the cost with estimates in Costa Rica, Central America. To my surprise, the final cost was similar, and in some cases, it was actually more expensive down there. So I decided to have the work done right here at "D2K". And am I ever glad I did! Three points. First, their staff is wonderfully equipped, "professional", knowledgeable, and provides the precise care every patient needs. Been with Dr. Patel for 6 years now, and so far so good. True that there was a lot of waiting time and that the office is running behind, but not by a lot, at least that was my experience. The staff knows me and have always been accommodating of my schedule. I just had my veneers done here and zoom whitening. I am one of those patients that reads information first on the yay and nay of procedures, so when I came in for these treatments, I kinda have an idea of what to ask. For veneers, I didn't realize that it was a tedious process! But they worked around my schedule, especially with my upcoming trip - and I LOVE MY SMILE MORE!!! As for the Zoom Whitening - OMG! Painful random almost like electric ultra-sensitive jolts of pain in the deepest roots of my teeth, but they have been upfront with it, so I was expecting it. They gave me some ibuprofen, and I still took some when I got home, but the next day, pain was gone, no more jolts of pain... and again, loooooved it!! Well, no pain no gain, right? read more

I would just like to say that I hate the dentist. Nothing about going to the dentist is fun. You know you are going to have to sit in some chair while the assistants and dentist do their work and it most likely will be painful. That was my experience with every other dentist exam I have had in the past. Recently I went to Dental 2000 and right away Ellie greeted me with a perfect smile (thats a good sign at a dental office) and provided me with water and magazines while I waited. Dr. Patel saw me on time, again this is a rarity in my previous experiences with dentists, and he was very cool, calm and collected. My cleaning and whitening process went quickly. This atmosphere made for the opposite of what I was expecting, it wasn't bad at all! I was actually out ahead of time and I would definitely recommend Dental 2000 to anyone else. Please don't go here. I went here to try to get my wisdom teeth taken out. First, I went in and they were telling me that there was going to be an hour wait because they were still operating on a patient. I waited and decided to just do the paperwork and go on my phone (Free wife here! lol). I went to go ask the receptionist a question about my insurance and she insists that I had HMO when I really had PPO. She was giving me attitude and wasn't friendly. She later corrected herself and was like oh yeah you do have the PPO, oops. And i was like uhm really? When it was time to get my teeth checked (after an hour or so), the same receptionist was the one who prepared my check up. Really sketchy. When the actual dentist came, he was talking so fast and was just gloating about the new technology he had. I felt like he was plugging in a commercial. He talked more about the new high tech tools he was using on me instead of making the experience a memorable, comfortable one. The last straw was when it came to pricing. PPO covers 90% btw. The same receptionist was charging me $2,500 for all of my four teeth! So if 90% is covered and I only had to pay 10%, she is basically saying that the overall wisdom teeth extraction without health insurance would have cost $25,000. That's more than a new car. Or even my tuition at UC Irvine. I told them that I would think about it and the next day they called me to discuss giving me a discount. lol. I never came back. read more

Absolute worst experience at a dentist I have ever had. First the persian dentist who worked on my cavity did a botched job and I may have to get a rootcanal for her digging in too deep. She was completely unprofessional and showed know compassion throughout the entire treatment despite the fact that I was in a lot of pain. She didn't even suction enough for me to swallow so I felt like was going to choke on my own saliva. Finally, the receptionist who also acts a dental assistant, had no idea how to handle my insurance claim and could not answer any of my questions which made it really frustrating to understand what I was paying for. Will never go back here again, and I hope you all will take heed to my warning! read more

I have been to Dental 2000 several times. I was very unhappy with their service. They cleaned my teeth in about five minutes ( are you kidding me ) horrible. I was told by Dr Patel it would take a year and a minimum of $5,000 to straighten my lower front teeth. I decided to go back to my family dentist I had known for many years and get a second opinion. My family dentist had my teeth straightened in four months for $1,300 and they look GREAT ! When I have my teeth cleaned at my family dentist they take a minimum of 45 minutes and do an excellent job.Every time I went to Dental 2000 I felt like their only goal was to sale me something if I needed it or not. I do not like a dentist office who is not looking out for the patients best interest, It is all about the all mighty dollar !!!! It was a very unpleasant experience. read more

DO NOT GOT TO THIS DENTIST if you want a properly applied Zoom treatment. My wife went there whereupon they misrepresented what they were going to do and then proceeded to inappropriately and incorrectly apply the treatment to her. As a result, she suffered both physical pain and mental distress. When I confronted the dentist with his staff's apparent deceptive, but clearly incorrect procedure, asking for my money back, he refused. In my opinion, this dentist is a snake and if you go there for any treatment, buyer beware. read more

I did a lot of research about dental implant prior to me having one, specially if you have to pay when you are unemployed. I am very glad to have found Dental 2000. The office ran a very busy office, so you will have to be very patient. Both Dr Patel and Dr Chandhri are pleasant, but I prefer Dr Chandhri, just because she is gentle and have the most mesmerized eyes. All of the assistants are quite nice. They were kind enough to wait for me, even though I was sometimes late for my appointment(due to traffic). I like very much to keep on going with them, but the driving distance is very far for me. My opinion; this is a scam. They took out a full page ad in the newspaper. The person in the ad, I believe does not exist. The phone number in the ad, is not a professional one. "The mail box is full" when I attempted to call it, so I called it again, and the same thing happened. And lastly, why are their prices so cheap????? If it is too good to be true, it usually is. I was happy with good service, I went to other doctor ( i won't name ) I had to wait for long time. so over all i had very good experience with Dental2000. Dr. Patel and his staff are great. The girl that does the treatment plans (I think her name was Nicole) was very helpful and explained everything in detail and what to expect. Dr. Patel is very friendly too. I went to see Dr. Patel after a friend referred me to him regarding my broken tooth a few months ago. I decided to have an implant place and eventually a crown where my missing tooth once was. So far I've been very impressed with Dr. Patel, he really took the time to explain to me the whole process and reassured me of my concerns. Although I was shaking my head yes to the Doctor it was really Ellie who made me felt comfortable and really explained it in layman terms for me to understand the whole process. I never knew it can be done so effortlessly. I'm still waiting for my gums to heal before my crown can be placed but none the less I'm very excited to be able to smiling again. read more

Update. After a almost a month of extreme pain and missing work and waking up on the last day of my thanksgiving vacation with the side of my face swollen 5 times it's size, I finally was able to have the damage corrected. I went to an oral surgeon and the look on his face when he cut me back open was pure shock. As soon as he was able to see what was going on both the surgeon and his assistant looked completely shocked. As he shook his head in disbelief he told me that the home matter was all over the side of my jaw and had caused severe infection. He spent over 30 minutes scraping out all of the bone matter. He also told me that there was no reason to have done the procedure in the first place unless I was getting an implant to replace my wisdom tooth. Because of this dentists need to make an extra buck, I went through months of pain, several rounds of antibiotics which killed immune system. As a result I got sick constantly over the winter months which made me have to miss so much work that I got written up. My whole holiday season was spent sick or in pain. I have been contemplating legal action and I am completely against suing. I have spent the last six months making up for the lost time this caused me at work. I hate giving bad reviews but I don't want anyone else to go through what I had to go through. Good luck! read more

I saw a groupon deal and thought I would try it so I called before buying it to make and appointment and the lady on the phone was so rude! I made my appointment for today and I'm glad it's over. I would not return whatsoever. I called the office to try to come in earlier but it didn't matter because I ended waiting 30 minutes to be taken in anyways. The office was freezing, not so clean and the staff needs training on customer service! It's terrible. The lady who did my X-rays didn't say one word to me and the machines looked old school. Dr. Patel was very nice and seemed knowledgable. He definitely makes you feel comfortable. However, he rushed through my cleaning so fast that I was in so much pain because he isn't so gentle. After that was done the lady brought me a paper with prices on how much the work would be and then she left. She didn't explain one word. The only lady I liked was Roya (I think that's her name). Overall, this place is decent but I wouldn't recommend it! read more

i hate when you go to a dentist and their only concern is attempting to sell you some service, or procedure you do not want, cannot afford, and did not ask for. they would not even provide me with my x-rays when i moved without charging a $25 fee! unbelievably poor service. also, the front office staff needs customer service training. read more

I took my handicapped 34 year old son here for teeth cleaning. The dentist also suggest cosmetic surgery to replace the silver filing on his back molers to white. We said no. On his second visit to complete the cleaning and replace some cracked filings, when I was not around, they persuaded my son to sign a paper authorizing the cosmetic surgery and proceeded to do it. My son did not know what he was signing. When I then complained to delta dental I discovered that the dentist over charged us for all the proceedures. Delta Dental made them pay us back $375 for the over charge, but refused to do any thing about the cosmetic surgery because I had not given the dentist a written statement that my son was handicapped. My son has a low intelligence and is autistic. I don't know anyone who isn't aware within 5 minutes of meeting him that there is something wrong.
