Dewey's has been our favorite pizza since, forever, but tonight I experienced a seasonal pizza I loved too much not to bring attention to. The "Woodstock" was a fresh take on a vegetarian pizza. Apple sage vegan sausage, and a mix of shiitake-oyster-button mushrooms with olive oil and fontina. This combo was much more interesting than the usual veggie pizzas choices. My favorite ingredient was the peppadew peppers! Wow! What a pop of sweet and spice! Please keep this pizza on the menu or at least offer the more unique ingredients!! read more

My babies and I came here after painting some pottery at pottery hollow next door. We were greeted by a male host, I'm thinking he may have been a manager of some sort, but that's neither here nor there. My girls and I shared a Hawaiian calzone and a candied walnut and grape salad (no gorgonzola). Both items were yummy. Just wished our calzone had a bit more sauce inside. BUT that's just a personal preference, of course. Our server was really nice, actually all of them were; I grabbed a server who wasn't ours to get our server and she happily responded with "what is it that you need, I can get it!" So I loved that. Really delicious! Used to be a childhood favorite. I was very thrilled to return after so many years to see that it was still amazing.

The only thing that would make Dewey's any better is having a more extensive beer list. Otherwise, this place is great. The service is always very friendly and the pizza and salads are delicious. The crust is so light and chewy in a good way. The only other drawback is my kids don't care for the red sauce on the pizza. It's got a very faint kick to it that they say is too spicy or some such nonsense (they're 10,4 and 2 so take that with a grain of salt). read more

I really like this place which is why this evening was really disappointing. Called at 6:30 on a Friday evening for carry out and was told it would be 75-80 minutes. Pretty bad for carry out but I figured they were packed. Went to pickup 60 minutes after I ordered. The food was ready, no wait even though I was 15-20 minutes early - bad sign. The box didn't seem to be as hot as usual when the pizza is fresh. Got it Home (I live 10 minutes from the place) and my fears were verified, cold limp soggy pizza. Lousy experience. Lesson - don't trust what you hear about the wait. For carry out might find another place, there are plenty around in Kirkwood Update: Same situation but I thought I had them figured out and arrived 25 minutes earlier than their 75-80 minute estimate. Pizza was ready No Wait and had to be reheated. Guessing you have to cut there estimate in at least half. This isn't that hard, they are just not paying attention. read more

What can I say? This place nails it on everything. The decor, the food, the service, the community interaction. It's just awesome. My local Dewey's really has a successful mom-and-pop vibe even though it is a chain out of Ohio. They are in the heart of Kirkwood and we make a trip out here whenever we get the chance. My kids absolutely love watching the pizza makers fling the dough and stretch them out on the peels. They do a 2 day cold rise with their dough so you really get a nice crust when it comes out of the oven. They bake them at 500 degrees so they are able to really pop these pies out quickly once they get them in there. The pizzas have a very unique taste that you just can't get anywhere else in town and keeps us coming back for more. This is a great place for family outings, meetings and parties. Ask around and they will even tell you about the pizza school that they do twice a year. Get to it if you can, it's a blast! read more

As someone who is not from St. Louis, I've struggled to find pizza I genuinely enjoy here. However, Dewey's is one of my favorites. Their seasonal prosciutto/ arugula is my favorite pizza I've had their. Get some extra peppercorn ranch if you're a fan of dipping pizza in ranch! This location is always so busy. I've only ever gotten take out. When I've picked it up, it's just so loud because it's such a crowded, relatively small space. Hence four stars and not five. read more

I am in a long-term loving relationship with Dewey's in Kirkwood. Dewey's is my all time favorite hand tossed pizza place! The crust is so amazing with the perfect ratio of chew to crunch, cooked perfectly every time. My kids never eat crust and the eat Dewey's crust every time. My favorite pizza is a seasonal off menu special called the Tito Santana, a taco pizza. I love the fresh lettuce and tomatoes, the creamy spicy sauce, and the yummy taco meat and chips. It's a perfect combination! Other favorites of my family are the plain cheese (kids), the meatball, the Southwest bbq chicken, and the Ryan's inferno. Their special pizzas are so awesome I rarely bother with traditional toppings. I find their pepperoni a little greasy so I avoid it, and the killer veggie turns me off because I think they put almost too many veggies on which can make the pizza a little soggy. Dewey's also has amazing salads! I love the healthy delicious feeling of having a big fresh salad before pizza. Dewey's house has wonderful fresh mixed greens with goat cheese, craisins, pine nuts, and a fantastic light balsamic, it makes me feel virtuous and it's so tasty! I never really get other salads because the house is so amazing. My kids even like it! Dewey's has a bar and serves a limited beer and wine selection (no hard alcohol). The only downside to Dewey's is that other people love it too so you often have to wait. You can use the waitlist for parties of under 6 and you really should use it. If you have to wait, you can window shop along Kirkwood road or watch the kitchen making the pizzas through the big glass window. My kids love this because the staff is really fun and jokes with the kids through the glass. They never get bored! Dewey's also does a lot of carry out business but with Kirkwood parking, that can be really hard. If you do carry out, bring a friend! You can circle the block while they run in! read more

Great place, great pizza and great salads! The people at our Dewey's in Kirkwood always greet us with a smile and are quick to take care of our order. The service is just wonderful! The place is always clean too (major plus in my book). The food...omg - you have got to start with either a house salad or the seasonal salad - masterful combinations of flavor! They toss their salads with the perfect dressing and they are the perfect size to start off your meal! They use spring mix/dark lettuces instead of the typical iceberg which adds a star in my rating for sure. And of course the pizza!! They offer some really creative combinations - and they are completely wonderful! You can build your own, but I have tried their suggestions and have loved them all! You can even split the specialty pizzas... half of one kind, half of another - it doesn't even matter if they have different sauce bases! They also have a lengthy list of craft beers to choose from - not all IPAs either! I've tried a few of their beers and have been satisfied every time! It is nice that they offer some of the local micro brews rather than just the regular assortment. We will keep going here for sure - it's one of our favorite pizza joints in St Louis! read more

Good, but not great. I've heard nothing but great things about Deweys Pizza, but it did not live up to the hype. My hubby and I split a calzone and pizza. The calzone was awesome - great flavors, and full of ingredients. The sauce it came with was, in my opinion, awful. It was so spicy I personally found it inedible. I would have complained that the giant calzone was served with the tiniest side of sauce, but since it was so bad, ultimately it did not matter. I'd love to order the calzone again and eat it with my own sauce at home, but that defeats the purpose of paying someone else to cook for you. We ordered one pizza split with two white specialties. The pizza crust was good and the ingredients were flavorful. I'd like to try a red pizza, but am hesitant based on the calzone sauce. Overall, I'd return to Deweys try a red pizza if someone suggested it, but I won't seek it out on my own. read more

What a great addition to St. Charles! I have to shout out the waitstaff as they were excellent last night. They went above and beyond to accommodate us last night! We had a party of 5 celebrating a birthday. We checked in on the no wait list and our table was ready at the earliest time quoted on the app. We were given a booth and wanted two tables so they quickly rearranged our seating. My water cup never went past half full. Our food came within minutes. Everything was hot and fresh. We had a few pizzas and salads. I had the regular house salad and the caprice pizza. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. We brought in donuts for dessert and they brought our plates for those and didn't mind that we brought in our own dessert. read more

Their seasonal pizza options are always delicious, and I find myself craving their slightly spicy tomato sauce when I'm away for college. I must say as a traveler with a family, this really met the mark. We just arrived a couple hours ago, and Yelp truly earned its weight. We jumped on the app and followed the recommendations for what we need d just rolling in, and it was great. As a Chicagoan, the pizza was very good. Cheese was fresh, the sauce was tasty and the dough right. Wine was good and the staff friendly. As a traveling family for sports or otherwise...I would comeback any day of the week. I travel a lot for a living and I was craving pizza and this place was close to my hotel. Had good ratings but mostly from locals. Dewey's pizza is good. The crust is not a "thin" crust but a well baked light crust. We had two salads (greek salad and peppercorn ranch) both were tasty and fresh. Lots of good salads to choose from. We had the Don Corleone pizza which had plenty of meat, salami and pepperoni I recall. Nice and hot and served with the red pepper and cheese to add to the slices. Can't comment on the beers on tap as ours was a lunch and non-alcoholic. I go to both the Kirkwood Dewey's as well as the Webster Groves location. Fortel's is my preferred pizza in Kirkwood, order it a little extra crispy from the oven for a nice crust. read more
