I have been a Dickey's fan for years and frequent them at many location's. On this day I visited this Location. At checkout my wife presented her coupon for the rib plate she ordered, the owner then proceeded to get irate and grabbed two ribs off her plate and said the coupon wasn't good for the full portion. I then casually indicated "that makes the coupon basically valueless", he then proceeded to take his wrath out on me. I took it and ok with it, but, here's the rub, my grandson met us there a few minutes later and at checkout the owner coerced him in giving him a 20% tip like a street beggar. If you like Dickey's like I do find a different location. read more

Tonight we ordered in the app bc they had a bogo deal on potatoes. I ordered two and asked that they put all items on the side except for the meat. They did the opposite. Put all the toppings in the potatoes and the meat on the side. Also the potatoes used to be so big that I could share one with my sister, now they are about half the size Then I ordered two extra bbq sauce containers and did not receive them at all. Well once again I am disappointed with Dickey's. They solved the problem I had last time and have hired an efficient cashier for the Thursday afternoon shift We have been enjoying the delicious ribs every Thursday for weeks. This past week we ended up going on a Saturday. We had earned enough points through the app to get a free 3 meat plate. we always take out- never eat in. So I ordered brisket, sausage and ribs on my 3 meat plate. My husband was especially looking forward to the sausage. Well it wasn't there. Instead there was 2 brisket servings and ribs Yes, I should have looked before I got home. Still WHY!? I called to tell them they had messed up the order and see what their response would be. ' Oh sorry' I would have liked if he had offered sausage next time or even a small discount. He said he would have to talk to the manager/owner who wasn't there. Said he would have him call me. HE NEVER CALLED. THIS PARTICULAR Dickey's have better food and especially ribs than the other Dickeys we've tried. So I'm super disappointed AGAIN. Service here was weird.. meat server was really slow. He was working on a take out order for a while before attending us. It's understandable. But no one around was willing to help him, but just stare at us. Customers ordering on take out, we're also having trouble getting they're orders correct w the cashier. They kept having to repeat across the wall on what sides they wanted. While attending us, portions were getting served really small. I was the second person to order in the group I had came in with, I had asked for a two meat plate, turkey and spicy sausage. Meat guy took a sausage out, cut the meat, put it back into the warmer, then proceeded to tell me they no longer had spicy sausage and if I'd like any other meat choice. Juan took great care of us today! We stopped in to get a bite to eat!! The pulled pork & chopped brisket sandwiches were delicious! Love the spicy BBQ sauce!! My husband got the waffle fries & they were fresh & hot. I got a side of Cole slaw & it was delicious! stop by for lunch or a snack & ask for Juan, he will take good care of you!! Second time ordering some extra food to go with the turkey and sides for Thanksgiving, for those of us who don't want to eat just turkey and ham. First time (last year) the order wasn't ready. Had ordered it online 2 weeks prior. No big deal, they threw it together pretty quickly. We mainly go to get the loaded mashed potato's and fried okra and other sides from them; you know, Dickey's, past about 1995 or so, is just straight up fast food saran wrapped lackluster BBQ. We ordered sliced brisket and sausage, and it came as expected: mediocre at best. But, it gave us the fix we needed. Sides were decent. Second time (this year) the order wasn't ready, again. They looked overwhelmed and ill-equipped with the proper staff and experience to handle the Thanksgiving rush for food. And they're not very friendly at all. Anyway, they threw it together quickly and I took it home. This time, the sides were bland, (the loaded mashed potatoes weren't really loaded with anything) the kielbasa was rubbery, and the "sliced" brisket turned into minced brisket the second it was lightly disturbed with a fork. To illustrate, see the picture attached of what the serving tray looked like after the meal was over. This is what crap brisket looks like folks. See the smoke ring? Yeah, I don't either. Chopped brisket and we didn't even have to chop it! It was kind of juicy, but tough, chewy and flavorless. Horrible even by Dickey's standards. There won't be a third time. We are done sacrificing quality for convenience, especially at this location. And especially now that you can have some great catered Texas BBQ shipped... which sounds crazy... but I have no doubt its better than "fresh" Dickey's! read more

This location was really strange the last time I came in. I ordered in the app and had a receipt for all of my items but the person working there thought the deal was too good and didn't want to give me all of my side items and drinks. He kept arguing and pointing at the sign but finally gave me my order to make me go away. I never had anything like this before. Dickey's normal prices are too high for me so I would only come if I had a good deal in the app. The stores should honor what's on the receipt without arguing or not accept the app orders. read more

This location offers a Take Out counter separate from the cattle-chute for dining room folks. They offer daily specials, and in the dining room, they have complimentary soft-serve. The staff is extremely friendly and quick at this location, as well. I only had an hour for lunch on this day, and I wanted something out of the ordinary. I am well-versed in the BBQ "system" in other places, but Texas always has it's own way of doing things - BBQ is no different. Until recently, I had never seen BBQ service line that was self-serve (for sides, at least). So, if you are new to this, you need to figure out what you want, meat-wise, and tell the dude with the big knife. He will chop/slice your selection to-order & had you the plate. The next step is yours, literally. Slide to your left just a bit and you will find a wide selection of sides. I must recommend the Mac & Cheese at Dickey's. It is one of the best restaurant Macs you will find. You can even pick up your dessert (before your meal - makes you feel like a naughty child...I mean, could you actually eat your banana pudding first?). Pay. Stop at the little relish/sauce bar. Sit. Engage. I will be the first to say I clearly have no understanding of the connection of pickles & BBQ. None. But...if you swing that way, you will find them next to the BBQ sauce along with onions (sliced) and peppers. I like peppers. They add some spice to your meal. On this day, I got a Beef Baker. What's that, you ask? Chopped beef on top of a fully loaded tater. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! The potato was light & fluffy with just the right amount of toppings to tater ratio. The Big Knife Guy will ask you what you want, so if you have a particular distaste, you are not forced to partake. Though my Baker did not "come with" a side, I simply could not pass up some Mac & Cheese. I also grabbed a dessert before checking out. So, for the tater, side, dessert, and drink (large, go-cup)...$17. The only detraction here was that the bark on the brisket was almost dried out - very hard. Conversely, the rest of the beef was tender & moist. All-in-all, it was a great lunch. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, but it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. The quality has gone WAY downhill since the pandemic: this is my first time going here (the Coit location) in maybe 4 years, but I used to be a regular, and it was reliable, at least, if not the best BBQ around. Now, you get plasticware instead of silverware now, there was no salt and no napkins on any of the table. The meat was bland and dry, but the worst part was when I went to get some onions and jalapenos: there were no jalapenos, and I noticed some black specks on the onions, which turned out to be juvenile flies crawling all over them. I could barely hold my gorge in, and left without eating the rest of my meal. I'm hoping I don't get food poisoning tonight. read more

I love this place! Coming from the Midwest or a barbecue with King when I moved to Texas this was one of my favorite chain barbecue places. I'm giving it four stars out of five because they added a taco to the menu which was innovators however, either the taco or the meat was so greasy that when I actually picked it up for the first time to take a bite the container that the taco was in literally had a layer of grease. I'm hoping that it was not from the taco shell part but more from the meat, but I got Pork and it was more on the dry side than it was on the greasy side. But after one bite I was done, I would definitely not recommend it, it looks 1000% better in the picture than it does when you actually get it on your plate. But the rest of my meal was fantastic with a potato loaded and brisket, as good as always. And the people that work there were some of the nicest people I have ever experienced. read more

This location had an offer on Face Book this week it stated "BOGO on 2 Meat Plates". The instructions were it had to be ordered through the website or app. I tried to order and for the discount your needed a code. The first time I saw the ad it had a code to use, but now on Saturday the code has disappeared (removed) from the ad, so I called the store and was told (by an older man I assume the owner) that he could not help, he didn't have any codes that it would have to be found online. If they are going to offer a special they need to honor it. This deceptive advertising. read more

I've had better BBQ. I consider this to be more like a fast food version of BBQ. I went in with the mindset that this is a chain and it's not going to be the greatest BBQ - just quick, easy, quality take out. The meats were decent. Maybe a bit better than I expected. I ordered Mac and cheese. I'm extremely picky about Mac and cheese. It's OK but I probably wouldn't get next time (unless I can't think of what to get). I can make Mac and cheese that's much better. I'll give this location one star because the customer service was cool but the food was horrible! I had the driest pulled pork and the brisket was so tough that I could barely chew it. The sweet tea was also EXTREMELY sweet. Even after I diluted it with water, I still couldn't drink it. I would not recommend this place. read more
