Ok ok... After seeing Dilly's mentioned so many times as a recommendation for yummy sammiches, I finally understand why! Woah mama! I mean. What? How have I not been here before? I've been to Tuttle Camera a handful of times in the last couple years. Never seen them nor have I think even driven further down Viking in many years. Two words! JUST GO!!!! The photos can probably speak for themselves, but I can't stop there now can I? Walked in and heard them playing X right away. (Bonus Points!!!)Walled up to the counter to order and noticed they have beer on tap and wine. I ordered two turkey sandwhiches on their sweet brown bread. It has smoked turkey, lettuce, avocado, pepperocini, and dilly spread. Also ordered some chili, two potato salads, and a pickle party which had a mix of all the pickled peppers, green tomatos, and pickles. I ordered too much but that was OK! Saved some for today. I asked if the potato salad had onion and she had to ask because she said she couldn't taste them. They do add onions, but since she said she had to ask because she couldn't taste them I went for it. SO GLAD I DID! I'll be digging into that baby in a sec for lunch! So tasty and maybe has a hint of dill? Great!! The sandwich was piled with tasty smoked turkey and every bite had a bit of all the ingredients! The crunch from the chopped up pepperocini made it even yummier than I could imagine. Even without them I'm sure I'd order it since the turkey alone was yummmm! Now the chili has a kick so those who can't do a little heat stay out of the kitchen. I actually went by Jim's and got some fries to throw em on. (Yes I'm an eater.. haha Don't judge. Ha!) the chili is more of a thicker consistency and I'm all for it! Delicious!! Lastly the pickle party did not disappoint. I usually don't like green tomatoes and theirs was totally tasty! She offered me a water while I waited. Super sweet! Afterwards I gave them props on their music choices and found out my gal and her husband in the kitchen were the owners. Super nice couple!! I am so looking forward to going back! I bragged on their flyer that mentioned Pennywise and they told me that the band named the sandwich. Haha I LOVE IT! We shot the shiz and talked about music and about my hubby's LB bands Dissension and All Day and how they played with them a handful of times through the years. I just know Matt will love coming here for a beer and another sandwich! We both enjoy spreading the love to our local food gems of Long Beach! I have a feeling he might even know them if they're in the punk scene. We shall see. I asked for their names and they are Brein and Rory! Love their new spot here and hope they're here to stay. The place is quite big, very clean. The customer service was very good. My friend had the turkey, and I had the BLT. She ate half and took the the half to go, she loved it. I liked mine, the bacon was pre cooked, would of like more avocado. I had the dilly michelada, it was interesting. For my personal preference it had too much pickle juice, I couldn't taste the beer at all. More Clamato would of been nice. I don't recommend it. And I have drink pickle juice from the jar before lol read more

Dilly's is a fantastic place to hang out and get great sandwiches and beer. My husband loves craft beer and was impressed by their selection while I enjoyed the cider on draft. Their sandwiches are large enough to share but so delicious I finished mine last time we went. I have been several times and enjoyed all of the sandwiches, even the peanut butter and pickle sandwich that I was skeptical of at first. My daughter is a huge fan of the smoked turkey. The owners and servers are kind, friendly and fun to be around. I love the open table seating and games making it inviting and a great option for families. read more

The pastrami sandwich was packed with meat. Wish maybe it had some sauerkraut or a little more to it. Just was pastrami and mustard. Went when party of 6 people have ordered to go and seems like the sandwich maker had trouble keeping up with the orders. Waited about 30 minutes to get my order. Couldn't drink at the time but definitely like to go and check out more of the menu and taste their beers on tap. After the first time I tried Dilly's, I couldn't wait for the next visit. I've tried different sandwiches every time and can't decide which I like best. The turkey is insane. The sauce, the way it holds together while you're eating it despite being massive. Good grief, it's delicious. The Reuben? So solid. Somehow the bread is crunchy and soft at the same time. I really like the vibe here and the employees are very kind. However, their gluten-free sandwiches are inedible due to the bread immediately crumbling. I would suggest they get a gluten free toaster specifically for their gluten free sandwiches because they immediately fall apart when you pick them up if they aren't toasted. Given the price paid, it would be nice to eat it like a sandwich and not a crumbled bread salad. Next time (if there is a next time) I'll request a toast, but I am unsure if they have a gluten free one for celiacs/wheat sensitive customers. read more

Excellent, friendly service could not make up for mediocre hot pastrami sandwich. A very basic sandwich (bread, meat, mustard) served with a generous serving of pastrami. Sadly the pastrami bordered on dry, was a bit chewy and lacked any flavor or even saltiness. Expensive and just not worth it. Pickle was very good as was the potato salad. The staff was delightful... This family business is so well organized and you can tell how intentional they are with their menu and decor. It's a love letter to a local deli. Their draft beers and ciders are paired well with the sandwiches. I had their tuna sandwich and the spicy dill pickles are delicious. It was an experience for sure and can't recommend it highly enough. The owner even came out (when he wasn't swamped with orders) to see how everything was! The egg salad is exceptional (I'm super picky about my egg salad) and the pastrami sandwich was big enough to satisfy my six foot four 240-pound husband. If anyone has concerns about the price, it's comparable to any other sit down place with a mediocre sandwich or burger. And the punk rock decor is worth it even if the sandwiches weren't good. I know they just opened but they should work on timing/preparation. With only one person at the counter and two in the kitchen, they aren't able to keep up with service. Only one order can be taken at a time since the one taking orders is also serving. They ran out of ingredients to make a BLT. After then waiting in line to order, I was told it would still be another 20-30 minutes before my order would be ready. Will try again another time. Hopefully things improve. read more

This needs to be one of the all time great sandwiches considering the ridiculous price and wait time. Asked for a turkey sandwich to go on a Sunday afternoon, no line, not particularly crowded. Apparently that takes 15+ minutes to put together, and a near-20$ sandwich that is mid-size at best does not seem like a winning combination. On top of that, the "Dilly's spread" on the sandwich was overpowering and seemed to be mostly mayo, and the avocado was very stingy. I guess it was good that there were a lot of pepperoncinis because the sandwich would've been inedible otherwise. Also, something in there was surprisingly salty on the bites that weren't dominated by mayo. The mixed pickle pack which cost me $8 was significantly better than the sandwich but I think I'd rather have Grillo's from Costco. I wish I could like this place but I doubt I'll be back to give them a second chance. read more
