I have always wonder about this place. Today I happened to swing by so I bought $25 worth of dim sum. At home, I finally discarded all the swei muy as they are deemed unedible. The taste is so odd and meat not fresh. The best is daikon cake, so moist and flavored with a lot of MSG. I got very thirsty after having their dim sum for dinner. Egg roll is meatless but the skin is too tough. The chicken pie has a very strange flavor. After checking the prices, har gow comes to $5 for 4 huge pieces but I really missed NBC $5 ones. The chicken pie is nothing compared to Jimmy's bakery chicken pie. There is very limited choices here. So why do I waste my money and time (took 20 min) at this place? No more. Mixed bag here. The food is mostly good, with some items standing out more than others. Price is great, hits the spot if you want Dim Sum on the fly, like my bestie and I on our way to go outlet shopping in the OC. The baked BBQ pork Bun is my favorite and I try it where ever I can find it. The version here is good, but I've had better. The filling is not as much and a little on the tangy side. I cannot wait to try the other dishes. No frills, clean location but get you in and out fast if you time it right. Service was good, not friendly, just efficient. Always wanted to try this place out and finally did. They take cash only so plan in advance. I've see in previous reviews that the prices have been going up, but I believe they still deliver the same quality as they did when the prices were lower. Their Har Gow (shrimp dumpling) are totes off the chain! What surprised me was the size of the dumplings and the amount of shrimp inside. I recommend giving this place a try and see for yourself :) their pork buns are amazing and their shumai definitely has a stronger flavor of what it is I'm just not sure what they did, but it was good nonetheless and I was so hungry. Basics like ha gao, siu mai, sticky rice, turnip cake, bbq pork buns, ham suy gok, chow mein, fried rice, etc. They won't have extras like chicken feet or tripe. Their items are sold individually and are a little pricier, but they are bigger than pieces you would get at sit down dim sum. And they are pretty fast. Decent quality and taste for being a quick pick up dim sum shack. Just wish they had a few other items I was craving. Also wish they had beef chow fun. You order by filling out the paper form that's in a cup at the window to the right, which is the same window you put your order in and pay from (cash only). The price per item is for one piece, although it seems low it doesn't end up being cheaper than the dim sum restaurants. Everything is per price hence the price, but they are extra large in size the Har Gow and Siu Mai are huge. Everything was fresh and seem like made to order. We ordered the Deep fried Pork chop rice, Har Gow , Siu Mai, Hom Suey Gok I call them footballs, Turnip cake, Sesame Rice Balls, Baled Pineapple Cream Bun, BBQ Pork puff and the Custard tart which they were out of.... They sell till they are out of the products. I would come early all the Dim Sum was large and in charge with flavors. I love all the baked goods they were right out of the oven, the BBQ pork puff was legit. My favorite is the Pineapple Cream Buns, you can't eat just one I dare ya! I wasn't sure I would have enough, but the pieces are so large, even my son could only eat 3 Shu Mai, and he normally has 4-5. We had so much, they lasted beyond lunch, and we had some left over for snack before dinner. The skin of the Har Gao are pretty thick, which is super nice, so when you re heat them, if you have left overs, they don't fall apart.
