I love the chicken at this place. It is not greasy and real moist. The dining area is awkward at best, so I only recommend to-go only. As for the sides do not order the beans they are weird. It taste like they add yams in the beans or something like that. The cole slaw with pineapple is good stuff and the potato salad standard stuff. The prices are great. Love this place. I have been coming here since I was a kid and it still tastes the same. So for me everytime I come here is a little blast from the past. KFC doesn't have anything on Dinah's. I believe they microwave the chicken here to heat it up, since it's unlikely made to order. I picked up food from here for the first time, after passing by this place for a decade and a half. (It's always looked like a low-end place from the outside... not very appetizing.) I ordered 2 chicken breasts and a side to go. When I got home, about 6 minutes away, I dug in. One chicken breast was pretty decent, but the other.... OMG. It was still too hot to eat it. Even putting my finger into it to open the breast up burned me -- and it didn't cool down for another 5 minutes. I kid you not. More than 10 minutes after getting this food and it was still this scalding hot? Can only mean it'd been microwaved to death. And it was kind of rubbery too. Seems like they cook their chicken ahead of time, then nuke it to heat it up. First and last time I will get food from this place. read more

Bought a bucket of chicken from The Glendale location about three weeks ago. I was very disappointed with the size of the pieces. The pieces got way smaller. I'm talking about Pollo Loco size. My family and I have been going to Dinahs for years. We used to drive from Covina now we come from Pomona. Nowadays to feed a family of 7 is very hard. We drove all the way over the on Dec 23, 2013 the food was good as always but the service was horrible. The waitress wasn't making eye contact when ordering the food she was too busy giggling with the other waitresses. She also got our order wrong because she wasn't listening to us. She wasn't asking how we were doing she completely ignored my children myself and my husband. IF we asked for more food or refills she would role her eyes and start smirking with the other workers there. We used to talk to the owner back when we lived in Covina since Dec we have been trying to get a hold of her with no success. We WONT be driving all the way to Glendale wasting gas just to be treated horribly. read more

They offer great customer service. Right when you enter, they greet you at the door and accommodate you right away. The place looks clean and I like the decoration/theme of the restaurant. The carpets need to be cleaned though they have spots in them. Perhaps they should consider going for hardwood instead. Their fried chicken is good. It does not tasted very commercial. Batter and everything reminds me of a fried chicken my grandparents would've made back in the day. As for the sides, I enjoyed the pineapple cole slaw. The pineapple really his the mayo tasted on the slaw and they served it in generous portion. The macaroni and cheese was good too. The only regret I made with my order is the mashed potato. It did not taste good. It tasted like it was processed and the gravy smelled weird for me. Well atleast I know better not to order that as one of the sides now. First time trying this place out. The lady who took our orders and served us was really nice and friendly. I ordered the 2pcs chicken lunch, which comes with a roll and a side. I got mashed potatoes and an extra side of Mac n cheese. Everything was good. The bf got 2 waffles, waffles was good. Finally got to try this place and it was over all good. I'm the type of person that if something is really good, I'll take a plate to go or come back within a week. This wasn't the place for ME. They were spot on with that deep fry temperature because none of our food tasted overly greasy. The pineapple coleslaw was fun and the french fries were crispy. Thursday 2/16/2017, never been there before, went inn to eat lunch. They are so slow to take your table order, I had to get up and go to the counter, and request it to go. I was charged almost $10.00 for a drum-stick and a over fried breast, a biscuit that tasted like nothing special, and mash potatoes that looked runny, with gravy with no taste, plus a lemon drink that tasted liken penicillin medicine. There is nothing worse in Life, when your expecting something Good, and it ends up Tasting Bad! It makes you feel like you just got ripped off!, Life Lesson Learned!, Stay away from this Place. This was our first time at Dinah's but it won't be our last! They are famous for their fried chicken and pineapple coleslaw. We had both plus a waffle and mac and cheese. About the chicken; the sign outside says it all, "If the Colonel had our recipe he'd be a general". Very crispy outside and tender and juicy inside. The pineapple added a great touch to the coleslaw, cutting the mayo based dressing. The mac and cheese was creamy with bits of crunch on the outside. The service was great, especially from Jessie! She even brought us samples of three of the sides to make our decision making easier. All of this combined with reasonable prices makes Dinah's a new favorite. read more
