What a yummy dinner. I am a pasta snob (I'm Italian) and my fettuccine was cooked perfectly. It is pretty hard to get really perfectly cooked pasta. It is an art. I had the Chicken Marsala and it was delicious. They do NOT use canned mushrooms- they are fresh. Their red sauce is actually really good - it's not a 'heavy' red sauce at all. Went here for a party. First time to a sit down since covid. First, a caveat- I'm Italian and am picky on "Italian" restaurants. The food: my small table ordered the firehouse tour (a mix of dishes), calamari, the antipasto salad, spaghetti and meatballs, and a meat lovers pizza. For dessert we had cannoli and the fried dough balls (pizza fritta I think the menu called it). I think the actual best thing on our table was the garlic bread. Thick, Texas toast like slice. Buttery and garlicky. I'm not a huge bread person usually but that was my jam. The spaghetti and meatballs were mediocre. Dry meat. Sauce kind of bland possibly jarred. The pizza was good. Crispy crust. A little too thick for my liking. A tad too salty but most likely from all the meats on top. Sauce again was mediocre. A true measure of a place is their sauce and this was just meh. That being said, still the best in Barstow. Slim pickings in the high desert. I would order a different pizza next time. The tour was ok. I think everyone's top choice from that was the lasagna. The Alfredo fettuccini was bland. Never had that happen before. Maybe we just got the last bit from an old batch. The salad was a hit. Tons of cheese and meat and veggies. Mine didn't come with any dressing though which I found odd. Probably an oversight. Didn't need it though with all the toppings. I think in the future I'll stick to ordering pizza and salad. The deserts were good. Our party got busy and we were distracted when they came. They ended up sitting a while so they lost their freshness. Cold fried Dough with melted ice cream definitely wasn't a star. But that's entirely on us. The flavor of the dough with the sugar and chocolate toppings was on point. I bet it would have been epic while hot. The cannoli was also decently good. Crisp shell. Nice amount of filing. Would've liked chocolate chips or nuts of fruit to make it more flavorful and authentic. The Little chocolate sauce was appreciated and sufficient. Doesn't compare to cannoli in Sicily, but still hit the craving. Going to say you definitely will enjoy any desert you order. Will try tiramisu next as I hear that is a speciality of theirs. The service: the restaurant was not very full besides our party of about 30. Seemed like the two waitresses helping us also were alone managing the rest of the tables. Very very slow service. A few mistakes with the bills. Food coming out to tables very uneven. They were very sweet and clearly trying their best. Seems like just short staffed. The ambience: cute themed restaurant blending the decor of a firehouse with the Italian. It was very unique and felt like a great place to have a meal. Visually attractive and laid out well. Just ate at DiNapoli's on the way back to Los Angeles. Had the chicken marsala with a switch to spaghetti from fettuccini and the choice of minestrone soup. Everything the waitress promised about the meal was true: Tender moist chicken, al dente pasta, big chunks of vegetables in the soup. The sauce was very tasty and included a lot of fresh mushrooms. Some versions of this dish I've had in the distant past may have had a more pronounced wine flavor but this was just fine. Firehouse decor and layout of the place is very charming, attractive and comfortable, and the Soul music (?) Pandora playlist was enjoyable and just the right volume. We were just starting the night in Barstow. I asked the hotel clerk where the locals eat - not the tourists - and she recommended DiNapoli's Fire House. My husband LOVES seafood. The seafood pasta was ginormous and delicious, as was my Chicken Marsala. Service was excellent even though we had to wait a few minutes to get seated. What a wonderful restaurant. I had the Pasta Primavera and it was loaded with chicken and broccoli, zucchini and mushrooms. The pasta sauce and the garlic bread was fantastic. We took a spontaneous trip to Cali from Vegas and got super hungry midway through. We were planning on stopping at Del-taco and seen this place was across the street! We were a little nervous so we wanted to dig up some reviews before committing. In the time it took us to find the reviews, 3 couples walked in. We New then this place had to be really good! Came here on Monday the 17th for lunch. We were seated right away as there was just one other person in the restaurant. Had a good lunch special and we decided to share it. Sam was a server and she was awesome. The other two ladies that were working were super nice as well. All three servers make a great team there. Even though the other two girls were not our server, I gave them a tip as well for doing a good job. Our one entrée did take a long time, I don't know why since there was just us and another person. They still get a five star for me because they are a team player crew and Sam recommended a pretty good beer. We will be back and thank you! read more

I happened to be in the area and since Barstow is the middle of no where, I trusted in yelp to lead me to a delicious dinner. My friend and I came in on a Saturday evening before his 50k. He wanted some carbs to stock up on energy, so this place was the perfect pick. CALAMARI ($9.95): This calamari was cut into circles and breaded. I like the crust, but the calamari was a bit dry inside. This was easily overlooked if you just drenched it into the side of italian sauce it comes with. ALFREDO PIZZA ($13.95): This pizza has a creamy alfredo sauce topping instead of the traditional marinara. On top was ricotta cheese, romano cheese, and tomatoes. I just felt like this pizza was a bit heavy to eat after the first slice. We also togo-ed the leftovers and I don't think the crust is as appetizing when it is no longer fresh. SEAFOOD PASTA ($14.95): This dish comes with a soup or a salad. My friend got the caesar salad. He didn't say much, so I'm assuming nothing unique, but nothing bad. They also gave us some garlic bread too!! The pasta itself was quite delicious. It had a good amount of red sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly. And there was a generous amount of seafood in the pasta... including: fish, octopus, shrimp, mussels and crabs. The food was great and the fire house theme decor was definitely unique. What really pushed this review between a 4 star and a 5 star was the hospitable service. I really liked the staff and especially our waitress!! I'm sorry, but I'm going to go against the norm here from the lunch my son and I had here. We ordered the sauteed mushrooms and the Godfather pizza. The mushrooms were quite tasty upon first bite, but after continuous eating, the pool of butter they were swimming in started to create havoc on my stomach. The garlic was also not fresh garlic, but rather, jarred so it wasn't as strong as fresh garlic. I was just a bit mind-boggled at why they felt the need to use SO much butter. Godfather pizza -- crust was not thick, but not super thin. It would've been great had they not thrown SO much toppings onto it. I know, I know, who complains about too much toppings right? But man, the grease fest that was in this pizza was too much to bear. The pan had a pool of grease soaking the pizza pie, so when I went to pick up the slice, the bottom was dripping oil. I had one slice -- it was enough for me. Way too greasy! We also asked the gal for some bread and they bring us garlic bread. OK, that's cool too, except I didn't realize that they don't give you bread for free. Not that I wouldn't have paid, but just an observation that there is no free bread. The garlic bread again was very very very greasy. So, they get a star for flavor, another for their very cool decor. But I spent the rest of the day with a bad stomach ache from eating too much greasy food in one sitting. If your stomach can handle it, you will love this place. read more

At the suggestion of a clerk at the motel 6 we had dinner here. He mentioned that the pizzas were very good. I ordered the Godfather pizza and was happy with my dinner, and the leftover slices made a nice snack on the ride down route 66 the next day. L had lasagna and although wasn't bad, it was hard on the edges as though it had been heated in the microwave to long. K had a salad and a stuffed pizza and said it was just okay. The kitschy interior is filled with interesting firehouse memorabilia and made it a fun place to eat. Ordered their pasta meal: fettucine aliolio with added chicken. Should've known to skip this place when the item isn't even spelled correctly. The menu advertise this as a garlic lover's dish but it has very little garlic flavor. There ARE bits of garlic in the pasta but no actual garlic flavor or smell. It's also under salted. The garlic bread has more garlic flavor and the garlic bread is really not impressive either. The pasta is more done than al dente but I like it cooked more than al dente anyway. The added chicken is dry, tough, and overcooked. I needed to apply quite a bit of force to get through it. The lettuce in the salad is on the limp side and the blue cheese dressing is subpar. However, all this food came in just under $20, so they've got that going for them. They also did not include napkins and utensils with my take out order. I did luckily have some in a bag. Been going here for many years. Until yesterday, it was superb; food, service, and ambiance. Went yesterday with my elderly Dad and my girlfriend. It was fairly slow. My Dad can just barely walk and we were taken to, literally, the farthest table from the hostess stand. We made it there and were given to waitress Lauren. She was friendly but inept. Took 10 minutes for water and a Pepsi. She took our order and the food came in a reasonable time. We had linguini, veal parm, and ravioli. Dad's soup had terribly undercooked vegetables he could not cut or chew. His ravioli was good he said. My girlfriend's linguini with clams was terrible; lacking in almost anything you could call flavor. Good portions of all but that was the only upside. My veal parm was stringy and tough and the spaghetti was flavorless as well. I had asked Lauren for Parmesan cheese and after more than 10 minutes had elapsed, I had to go up and get it myself!!!! The manager or possibly head waitress (owner's wife maybe?) apparently heard me come and ask for it, saying that we'd asked and waited without response from our waitress. After that it seemed that Lauren couldn't come by enough, for ridiculous reasons. Sorry, damage already done. This is the first negative experience I have had at this restaurant and I'm hoping it was an aberration. I live out of California now and don't know how many dinners I have left with my dear Dad!! I was beyond disappointed in this dinner. Not sure it'll be on the list again when I come back in a couple months. Don't know if ownership changed or the cooks, the service flat out sucked and the food was awful. My Dad was fine but my girlfriend and I both got sick later that evening. It's not the best Italian I have ever had but it's got a nice atmosphere. The. Waitresses can be slow butt they're always friendly. The pizza and Italian sodas are worth your while. The spaghetti and meatballs and ravioli is also decent. There's linguini as well. Steer clear of the soups and enjoy the fresh salad. The cannoli wasn't so great. A straight-ahead, old school, checked-tablecloth type of restaurant; the sort of place my family would go to when I was a kid. We were passing through and stopped for dinner. Dinner here on Oct 7 after a long drive from CO. Only lost one star as we waited for quite a while before offered water or taking our drink order. The house chianti was a generous pour, decent and my wife ordered a cherry Italian soda with light whip. She thoroughly enjoyed it. The house salad was good and freshas was the homemade balsamic (on the side). My wife got the Caesar which was fine, too. Main course for me was the manicotti which I thoroughly enjoyed. The sauce tasted homemade and the cheese filling on point. The spaghetti was prepared perfectly. The cheese ravioli was also good and was filled with some of the the creamiest cheeses I'd ever tasted although my wife liked my manicotti better (we share). The garlic bread, good not great. Our waitress redeemed herself many times over for the earlier wait to be served and was attentive and cheerful. Just good, solid Italian food. Loved the firehouse decor as well. read more
