This place is amazing, so happy a Chinese BBQ spot opened up in the neighborhood. I especially enjoy the the roast duck and roast pork...now I don't have to trek it all the way to the Sunset!! The owners are also super nice and friendly. Looking forward to seeing them introduce more menu items, but honestly I'm just happy they have what they have, so I'm not taking it for granted. We finally got a great crispy pork place with delivery!! I've ordered twice thru doordash and got my order in less than 10 minutes. The first time, I ordered on a Sunday about 5pm. I really LOVED their crispy pork. For sure, when I order there, I MAKE SURE to get the PLUM SAUCE which is great on its crispy pork!! Their bbq pork as another reviewer posted is cut thin and it's DRY & HARD, not juicy at all. I would stay away from their bbq pork. Golden moon restaurant does a better job with bbq pork. The 2nd time, I ordered just today Saturday at 6pm. I ordered the crispy pork on its own and I bought the fried rice separately. I got a crispy pork portion that was three times larger than combo size. They were just like last time, hot, tasty, fresh!! The fried rice was ok and it was still hot and there was a lot in the box, but there wasn't anything special about it. This isn't the place for vegans nor vegetarians unless one of your veggies is chicken, pork or duck!! I'm just so glad I don't have to go all the way to Clement St to get good crispy pork!! Stumbled on this restaurant as I was leaving my place for a lunch break while going on a bike ride to see what was new, happened to notice it and got a menu as I biked on by, ended up ordering takeout as I biked back home and got the duck over white rice, great portions for the price and I thought the sauce was delicious, ended up going back to the following day to try a 2 combo of the roasted pork and soy sauce chicken, the mom and daughter were working the front and greeted nicely today as they did the day before, the food was still delicious with good portions (ended up eating 3/4 and saving another 1/4 for a few hours later) and the pork was still crispy! Menu is pretty straightforward and I'd imagine they'll probably have more items later down the line, great place for a togo lunch order and I'll definitely need to get a whole duck next time. read more

This Chinese restaurant is so dishonest. They charge people different prices on the same food. I don't like that so the last time I went there told them about this . They told me it will never happened again and the young lady with the glasses asked me to pay credit card instead of paying cash this time. While waiting for a takeout order I had just made at Beijing, I was wandering around the Excelsior. It's a fascinating area with lots of intriguing mom-and-pop type places to check out. One I noticed that seemed new was a place with poultry hanging up and the humorous name Do Eat. Well, of course I will eat, and I decided I had to come back and try it. I ordered the CD1 combo, chicken and duck over rice. For chicken you have the choice of free-range or shredded (+$1). From experience elsewhere, I got the free-range for the taste. It was a decent serving of duck and chicken, with some cooked lettuce (cabbage?) and a few small pieces of broccoli over a generous serving of rice. The chicken, poached, was served in a ginger relish. Think kao mun gai or Hainan chicken rice without the chicken rice. Tender and delicious. The duck, barbecued, came with a dipping sauce. Perfectly done and yummy. This is a legit Hong Kong style barbecue place, so it's all bone-in. Deal with it. (It tastes better that way.) They have a couple small tables right now, not really a place for groups, maybe just two-somes. It's mostly a take-out place with lots of people coming and going. WOW! This place is amazing. My partner and I ordered takeout from here for a late Valentine's Day/Lunar New Year dinner and we do NOT regret it one bit! We ordered the roast duck and free range chicken with ginger and green onion sauce. The whole chicken had great flavor even when I tried it without the sauce. Adding the sauce brought it to a new level of deliciousness. I also liked that it was cut well without random bone shards and the bones also weren't red and bloody like they sometimes can be at places like this. The duck was also really good and not as greasy as most Chinese roast duck. I will definitely be back the next time I want chicken and duck. Food - 3 stars + .5 star for friendly service, rounded up to 4 star rating. Had bbq pork and roasted pork over rice. Bbq pork was sliced very thin with no fat at all making it kinda dry. Roast pork, on the other hand, was a little too fatty for me. I bit off what I wanted and discarded the rest. Flavor wise for both items was ok, not great/not bad. The rice plate came with ginger garlic mixture and some broccoli (my dogs enjoyed the broccoli). Also got an order of tofu and mushroom over noodles. They used button mushrooms instead of shiitake listed on menu. The noodles were over salted. Tofu was good, just out of the kitchen. Nice skin outside and silky soft inside. Popped into this dive after reading all the reviews. We got the charsiu since it's clear their BBQ is good. I also ordered two of their listed "specials" - beef with broccoli and chow mein which came with a free order of fried rice. To be clear, I am not Cantonese nor grew up eating Chinese. I basically had an Asian dad who would bring home Chinese food each weekend from San Francisco Chinatown. First off, I would not recommend getting any of their "specials." Beef with broccoli had no gravy (and maybe in HK they don't serve it with gravy). The fried rice had only one green pea and three carrot squares in it. The chow mein had good noodles but nothing much else. Flavor on the rice and noodles was mild but not bad. The beef seemed a bit gamey. The charsiu on the other hand looked dry but was very juicy. Still we found it a bit more salty than we usually like from our favorite place Cheung Hing. We still like the Chinese restaurants along Mission Street better, such as the one on the corner of Geneva and Mission. (We don't know the name since we can't read Chinese.) The service was without a doubt VERY GOOD, but we don't mind being treated rudely by other immigrant Asians if the food is better. (Cuz hey, the first gen have it rough!) We've thought about coming back for the duck a second time but decided to wait until our friends order it and try it then. read more
