We were gifted with a second try by our son. This time he stuck to the basics. Dodger Dogs. They were OK.

First time here- glad to discover this family-owned mainstay in the Santa Monica area…read more Nice friendly bar with great happy hour deals. And the food was delicious and diverse in terms of choices. Not your usual fare / but what we had was soooo good. The sweet potato side was a standout- chimmichurri and strawberries! Very attentive staff and street parking was a breeze!

Went here for a group event for the first time and the food was surprisingly good for a large group…read moreevent (entire restaurant was booked out for a Monday evening) Ambiance: dim, warm lighting perfect for a small intimate meet up or a more formal get together. Event was held on an evening the restaurant was closed so can't comment on general noise level Service: no issues, staff was extremely helpful with clearing the dishes, bringing out to go boxes pre emptively prior to the end of the event to allow guests to take leftovers to go Food: - Proteins were surprisingly not overly cooked/dry! Hard to say this routinely about salmon and chicken - Pizza/flatbread: nothing super standout but crust was not dry, tasted mostly of cheese - Oven baked sweet potato: garnished with strawberries and cheese, blistered for a nice caramely flavor on top of the already nice sweetness - Pasta salad: nothing special but also nothing alarmingly bad - Sadly didn't get to try to tuna crispy rice - Desserts: an assortment of small eclairs, profiteroles, and brownies -- feel like this is where the food fell flat. The eclair and profiterole pastry was kind of flat/dry (didn't taste fresh really). Brownie was probably the best - moist but also nothing super amazing Interested to come back in the future to see how The food (especially the dessert) fairs outside of large events.

Seems weird but it really worked. Menu didn't say so but came with some really good tomato soup dip also. Love a good food surprise Drinks come next .. wow .. really unique and delicious. American Samurai and Shades of Pink .. both home runs The Sea Bass in coconut lemongrass deliciousness. A bit pricey but fair for Sea Bass and location. The portion was pretty large compared to other places. Excellent Tempura cauliflower.. this was good but the only thing I have any notes on .. I'd like a sauce .. it's has flavorful toppings and something like chili oil on the plate .. wish chili oil was more of a sauce .. but still was very good .. texture was perfect tho .. a little crunchier than traditional tempura which was nice Ambiance was charming .. cute little place .. a must try

I believe everyone enjoyed their dishes, but docking a star as they overcooked the steak frites! We ordered it medium rare but it came to us medium-well done. It is always disappointing to get a steak more done than you requested. They had a seasonal banana foster dessert at the end that was delicious. Service was attentive and pleasant. Definitely a pricier place, but worth it to try the different dishes on the menu!

We were able to get a last-minute reservation easily. They have an outdoor patio area that is dog friendly, and the food is pretty good. We ordered the hummus, crispy chicken sandwich, tuna tostada, and the ceviche. Ranking everything in order from best to just OK: tuna tostada, hummus, ceviche, and then the crispy chicken sandwich last. The tuna tostada and the hummus were by far the best dishes. I would definitely come back just for those two. It seems like they usually have live music, but because of the World Cup and the Knicks game that is on hold. It was so good that we decided to book reservations for tomorrow even though we're eating here today for the Knicks game.

Unfortunately, the food and service fell short of my expectations. The restaurant is on the pricier side, but given its desirable location and atmosphere, the pricing feels somewhat justified. Also, the restaurant business is tough to manage, especially with recent increases in rent, insurance, and supply costs. That said, based on my experience, the food is overrated compared with the praise it receives in many reviews. The Cloverfield Cheeseburger - 2/5. The menu suggests the burger is made with high-quality beef, and that may well be true. However, the patty itself tasted bland and lacked the richness and fat content needed to make it memorable. It also lacked a well-developed crust, which left the overall flavor underwhelming. The bun deteriorated after only a few bites and lacked the chewiness and structure of a good burger bun. The produce was equally disappointing. The tomatoes were pale pink, seemingly underripe, and lacked the deep, juicy sweetness that can elevate a burger. The lettuce was pale and lacked both the crisp texture and fresh flavor needed to complement the other ingredients. Overall, this burger was a letdown. The Scramble - 2/5. This breakfast plate comes with scrambled eggs, pan-fried potatoes, and toast. The potatoes tasted as though they had been sitting on the side of the griddle for some time - dry, overcooked, and lacking freshness. The scrambled eggs were similarly disappointing. They lacked the velvety texture and rich flavor that distinguish well-executed scrambled eggs from average ones. The dish was serviceable but far from memorable. Cloverfield Chili - 2.5/5. The description is promising, highlighting ingredients such as grass-fed beef and lime crema. In practice, however, the chili was merely okay. The flavor profile felt somewhat bland and one-dimensional, while the ground beef lacked the moisture and richness that make a hearty chili satisfying. More disappointing was the serving temperature - the chili arrived only slightly warm. A dish like this should be served piping hot to deliver the comforting, hearty experience diners expect. The Cloverfield excels in location and atmosphere, and I would happily return for drinks or to catch up with friends. However, the food did not live up to the expectations set by its reputation or pricing. While the setting is enjoyable, the overall dining experience left me underwhelmed.

Review: The Ultimate Neighborhood Gem in Santa Monica! If…read moreyou're looking for the perfect "everything" spot in Santa Monica, Lunetta All Day is it. Whether it's a sun-drenched breakfast, a power lunch, or a cozy neighborhood dinner, this place nails the vibe every single time. It manages to be sophisticated and "LA-cool" while still feeling like a warm, welcoming local haunt. Here is why Lunetta All Day is a consistent 5-star experience: The Best Breakfast in Town: The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes are legendary for a reason--fluffy, tangy, and not overly sweet. If you're a savory fan, the Short Rib Hash is rich, tender, and the ultimate comfort food to start your day. The "All Day" Versatility: I love that I can come here for a world-class latte and a pastry in the morning, or a glass of crisp rosé and a Chisaya Burger in the afternoon. The transition between a casual cafe and a refined bistro is seamless. Thoughtful Ingredients: Chef Raphael Lunetta clearly prioritizes seasonal, local ingredients. You can taste the freshness in the salads and the quality in the proteins. Even a simple side of crispy fingerling potatoes feels elevated here. Chic & Airy Atmosphere: The interior design is stunning--think mid-century modern meets coastal California. With the large windows and open feel, it's one of the best spots on Pico Blvd to soak in that Santa Monica light. Polished Service: The staff is incredibly professional. They are attentive without being intrusive, and they move with a pace that shows they respect your time, whether you're on a quick lunch break or a leisurely weekend brunch. Pro Tip: Their outdoor patio is dog-friendly! It's the perfect place to sit with your pup and people-watch while enjoying a Wood-Fired Pizza. Also, don't sleep on their bakery counter--the cookies are some of the best in the city. Lunetta All Day is the kind of place that makes you want to move into the neighborhood just so you can eat here every morning. A true Santa Monica staple!

The prime skirt steak frites was juicy and came with lots of fries on the side. The smoked kielbasa is a sausage with smokey flavor. The ambiance is beautifully done, modern coastal. Perfect for a comfortable but elevated dinner. We started with the bread service, chili wontons, and gem lettuce. The bread service was my favorite, warm, soft, and the miso butter was divine. The chili wontons were also a standout, especially if you enjoy dim sum. They had great flavor and balance. The gem lettuce was fresh and simple, reminiscent of Jon & Vinny's in the best way. For entrees we had the butter shrimp and Scottish salmon, both really good, no complaints. But honestly the appetizers stole the show for me. Would definitely come back just to try more of the starters. Such a good spot.

It was a Saturday night and pretty empty, but we did go on the earlier side. Our server was also really friendly and attentive, definitely a highlight. The food just didn't hit for us. The bread service was disappointing and looked nothing like the photos we saw. Not sure if we got the wrong thing, but it wasn't good. The shrimp toast was decent but super heavy. The Caesar was not great, and no one mentioned it comes with whole anchovies on top. I'm fine with anchovy in the dressing, but the actual pieces were a lot. The chicken karaage was okay, again really heavy, but the sauce was the best part. We also tried the taco special which was just alright, nothing memorable. Overall, the vibe and service were good, but the food didn't live up to it. Probably wouldn't come back.
