SERVICE The young lady taking orders was very friendly and helpful. The crew working in the kitchen wore gloves from what I remember and definitely masks. MY FAVORITE PART... The kalbi, the kalbi, the kalbi (ribs)... nom nom nom! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The wait... I was totally salivating through my COVID mask with the wafting scents from the grill. Lol. THE GRUB Back on March 16, 2021, I ordered my kalbi plate ($13.79) to go as there was no indoor or outdoor dining allowed due to COVID-19 restrictions. The order took a while to come out, but once it did, it was nicely packed with generous portions. This plate came with succulent kalbi meat... oh my gosh it was so flavorful and tender too. My daughters loved it too. I loved this plate because it also came with white rice (which can be substituted with brown for $.50 extra), salad (although it's mostly just iceberg lettuce), potato salad (which is more like mashed potatoes), and macaroni salad which I usually detest yet theirs was good. Plus they garnish the kalbi with sliced green onions and a jalapeño. I don't know if this is still true, but for a limited time on Fridays only they started offering shrimp (10 shrimp) for $11.99. They also had an option to add-on shrimp to anything (5 shrimp) for $4.99. I like that idea a lot and hope they continue that later! LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB My kids wanted dang In N Out that day. Great now shop that replaced the old Asian teriyaki place that used to be here. Don's is definitely an upgrade, with a simple menu and quick service! My chicken bowl was ready in about 5-7 minutes. The cashier Jon or Jonathan was friendly and has great service, greeting every customer pleasantly. The yelp check in is a free Thai tea which was excellent and they even offer a neighbor discount- this alone makes the restaurant competitive as I was able to get a healthy meal for under $7! Awesome! As for the bowl itself, the salad was good, the chicken a bit dry for me, and the brown rice solid for that fiber! The garnishings are green onion and jalapeños which made the bowl look a bit more colorful. This place is a "first" to a couple of things for me! My first Kalbi plate; my first plate that comes with BOTH macaroni salad and potato salad (not as an additional add-on); my first green Thai iced tea! I'm a forever Chicken-Teriyaki person so I rarely get a beef plate or the combination. Also I am very picky about the sauce/marination of my beef, so I like to stick with chicken - where it will always be the teriyaki-based sauce. But when I saw on Yelp that this joint is Korean and has KALBI - who knows how to marinate their Kalbis better than Koreans, so I decided to give it shot. Let me tell you, their Chicken Teriyaki Plate was great but I was thoroughly impressed by their Kalbi Plate. The Kalbi was flavorful by itself (I can tell) and the sauce that they drizzled over the Kalbi was not overwhelming as to take away from the Kalbi's marination. Also, there were lots of meat on the Kalbi ribs! The mac salad and potato salad were delish--and I absolutely loved the salad dressing--super fresh, zangy, tangy, sweet--I don't know how to describe it! As for their iced teas-- I've never had a Green Thai iced tea before so it was very interesting for me. It was not overly sweet and flavorful. I personally liked the Thai iced tea a tad bit more. All I can say after eating Don's Teriyaki Grill is; W O W!!! I was extremely shocked to find such a fresh and tasty bowl in the city of Norwalk. The location is located in a medium sized plaza along with a couple of other fast food/restaurants that aren't of importance because Don's is the place where you want to be. The food is unbelievably good and was blown away by the quality of chicken, and the richness plus balance of flavors in their teriyaki sauce; I ordered a chicken bowl and was surprised to find that it also came with a side salad which is a plus because usually they only come with chicken/beef plates. The inside lobby & dining area is a bit small but has a TV that was sports and other channels playing along with very cool artwork along the walls (see attachments) Before I start ranting about how amazing this place is I highly suggest you come check them out for yourself and be prepared to get your socks knocked off by the quality and service that Don's has to offer! 100/10 would recommend read more

I'm so glad that I came across this place after a long flight from Virginia to sunny California. I may make a quick stop by today and get this plate again. I been to Don's since they were at Long Beach. They used to literally be in a hole in the wall. In a little shack that was no bigger than 5ftx5ft. They closed down and a few other spots opened at that spot. To my surprise they opened one in Norwalk. I had to come and see if it was as good as I remembered. Good news it tastes like what I remembered. Bad news is portions seems much smaller and price has gone up. I can't blame them with inflation and all.
