We stop by Donut Touch about twice a month on average. Of all the donut shops in the area, for us they are hands down the best. Very consistent, moist, large donuts. No frills or fads, just great donuts. If you go in the morning you'll find a large selection, whereas in the afternoons before closing there won't be much to pick from...but what's remaining will still taste fresh. I really enjoy this place, I have been coming here for years. I have always purchased my donuts here and their bagel breakfast sammys are perfect! Due to the location (near businesses and a hotel) it can get pretty busy, especially in the morning. I haven't had a bad experience here and I'm happy to say that I have been and will continue to be a customer. They have a variety of donut flavors and sandwiches as well as a large drink menu with coffee, tea, and smoothies. Came here after lunch. It was literally right next door to Nanay's BBQ. I was craving something sweet. If you get half a dozen doughnuts, it's $6.50. Not bad. I got a couple of glazed, a sprinkle one for my daughter and two cream filled chocolate covered doughnuts. All were very good. Texture of the glazed ones were soft. Customer service was good. They make fresh doughnuts every hour. There were a few tables inside. Cool place to chill out and enjoy your doughnuts. They also sell bagels, sandwiches, coffee, juices, flavored milk, etc. It's definitely a cool joint to have doughnuts and coffee. A lot of people come here to have coffee and doughnuts. I thoroughly enjoy good tasting sandwiches, especially with fresh ingredients made in front of me. That is why I appreciate a very personable employee named Tati. I love the Grand Western hoagie. The sandwich consists of Boar's Head mesquite wood-smoked turkey breast, pepper Jack cheese (optional), lettuce, tomato, red onion and chipotle dressing on a white French baguette roll. However, when Tati felt the texture of the bread this morning, she commented to me that the two existing rolls were a day old. She claimed she felt more comfortable if I waited for a new batch to be baked. I did not have the time, so I ended up ordering a half dozen donuts for my office staff. I did return later to get the sandwich and I was completely thrilled with the taste. I always felt the quality of the sandwich starts with the bread. Thank you for being sincere. I also commented to Tati that I would really appreciate romaine lettuce (as a healthier option than their iceberg lettuce) and she claimed that she would ask her employer for this recommendation. Very disappointing experience. I called the night before, to place an order for two dozen donuts to bring to a work meeting. I told them I wanted 8 chocolate/chocolate donuts, and they could do a variety for the rest. I said I'd like them ready by 8:30, but I might pick them up closer to 8:45, or maybe even 9. So, I show up at 8:45. It took a few minutes for somebody to help me at the register (even though nobody was in front of me). I told the woman "I'm here to pick up the two dozen donuts." She said, "Oh, okay." She then started to open up boxes, and asked what I wanted. I told her, again, 8 of the chocolate/chocolate donuts. I then said "I thought these would already be prepared for me." As...I didn't want to stand there for a few minutes having them assembled. I just wanted to go in, pick them up, and leave. Imagine my surprise when around 9:20 a.m., I started getting non-stop phone calls from a number I didn't recognize. On the 4th time they called me, 10 minutes later, I answered. They asked when I was picking up the donuts. I told them I already did. They sounded like they didn't believe me, and asked me to describe the woman that sold them to me. I said "She had short black hair." To which the woman said "That was me! I don't remember you." I said..."Well, I don't know what to tell you. I came in, at 8:45, paid for two dozen donuts, and they got them for me." Come on. You need a better system if people place an order. read more

My work place's favorite donut shop. A dozen donuts cost $10. They are fresh, soft, and nicely glazed. They have a nice variety, my favorite being the chocolate donut (can't go wrong with chocolate). When I bought a box, the donuts had just been freshly made and still warm. A coworker told me that their bagels are also so I will definitely coming back for those. read more

Kudos to this place for selling both bagels and donuts. Also, special kudos for peeps who work here and work the line, especially when it's long! I came in on a Friday morning around 730am. DAMN, was it busy. There were 3-4 peeps behind the counter helping customers and they did it fast and efficiently. I ordered a dozen donuts ($10). So many donuts to choose from so I opted to get some sugar, maple, chocolate, glazed, and filled. I was only able to try the glazed twists as my co-workers gobbled the remaining donuts. On my drive back to Camarillo at 5 AM this morning, I stopped by Donut Touch and got my breakfast. Fresh and warm from the fryer, their maple bar literally melted in my mouth. Sugary, mapley sienna-colored frosting and fried raised donut dough dissolving and exciting my taste buds and making my stomach smile... Their donuts are exceptional. I'm not much of a cake donut eater, so I can't say much about those. But any of their raised donuts are amazing. My norm is the maple bar or chocolate bar. Or if you want more fried goodness, get something with more surface area like a chocolate twist or a white frosting cruller (a.k.a. French donut). They are quick with orders and have a friendly staff here in the Mira Mesa location. I think they also serve Gavina coffee (correct me if I'm wrong), and that's pretty cool too. I'm only in San Diego on the weekends, but when I'm hankering for a sweet fried treat, Donut Touch never fails to scratch my donut itch. Even better than Rolling Pin in Camarillo. read more

I've driven by Donut Touch a few times and i've been wanting to come in. Mainly because of the name, Donut Touch. Lol. I still laugh when I say it. Donut Touch. hahahhaha. Such a clever name. I was craving a bagel and since the bagel place I knew of was closed I found out Donut Touch had more than just donuts. They have bagels and sandwiches too! I came in late in the morning though so the majority of the bagels were gone. I love salmon & cream cheese bagels so I was excited they had it on the menu. It was delicious. More cream cheese than salmon but it's ok. The salmon was cut up into the cream cheese spread which i've never seen before. I'll definitely get it again. It's a light breakfast/snack. I ordered for my dad a bacon, egg & cheese croissant and it was amazing. I wish I had ordered that instead. Definitely the best thing that I ordered that day. I ordered the blueberry donut as well. I come here every now and then, but the donuts are spectacular and the coffee is robust with flavor. I sometimes get a box and bring it to work, but I'm a greedy person so I buy a box for myself. I stopped in here this morning hoping to grab an iced coffee on my way to work. It was about 8:45am and it was a bit busy, but I didn't mind waiting because on the menu they had an iced mocha listed for $3.00. Once I got to the counter, I ordered an iced mocha and asked if they had low-fat milk by chance. Apparently the person I asked didn't speak English well, so he turned to the guy behind him who nodded. I took that as a yes. When the first guy went to ring me up, he charged $3.25. Meanwhile, the sign behind him still says $3.00. I wasn't going to argue over a quarter, but I wanted to point out the difference so I mentioned the price behind him and he shook his head. The other guy (still making my coffee at this point and clearly super confused about how it's made--there was some espresso, a little bit of crushed ice, and milk), tells the first guy to charge me the $3. I say thanks and hand over my card (there's a credit card machine right on the counter). He shakes his head and says no, they can't take it. And I asked why, thinking the machine was down. He responded that there's a $5 minimum--mind you, this isn't posted ANYWHERE. I was beyond irked at this point. My drink looked pretty weird anyway, so I probably didn't want it. How can you advertise that you sell iced mochas and not know how to make them?? Really disappointed. Will not be back. read more

There is a small hint of friedness, but they don't weigh you down. The glaze is sweet, and the maple frosting is delicious. Normally, I don't come to this donut shop very often; most of the time if I'm craving an apple fritter - my calorie bomb of choice - I head over to Vons as it's closer. Not just that, if I'm ever in the area during the afternoons on my way home, they're usually closed. Today, before I headed to my doctor's appointment, I decided to give Donut Touch a try. I wasn't feeling Starbucks' pastry offerings, and plus I wanted to give a local store a chance. Even though they were out of the pumpkkin pecan muffins, I went with an apple fritter. Let me say this... WOW! Not only was this apple fritter bigger than the ones I get at Vons, you can taste the difference between a locally made one and a mass produced one like Vons makes. Very chewy, and still a bit warm... pure awesome in one's mouth! Haven't tried the bagels yet, but that's what repeat visits are there for, no? read more

I'm shocked this place only has 3.5 stars. The donuts are exceptional! I love the glazed. It's soft, fluffy and not too sweet. The glazed donut holes are also tasty! I love the powdered donut with blueberry filling. The glazed raspberry filled is also great! I've also had the coffee here and it's tasty. I had the macadamia nut coffee and I loved it. The sandwiches are fresh, affordable, big and tastes so good! All the ingredients are cut here this is why they are so fresh. The bread for the sandwiches is a crusty little loaf. I keep coming back here for donuts and coffee. Just tried the toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and it's now my favorite. Service is friendly but I am constantly witnessing petty customers in line. I've seen customers blow up over the tiniest things like their favorite coffee run out and expect it to be ready in 30 seconds. Fuck this place. I've gone here several times at between 1:00PM & 1:30PM and tried to order a deli sandwich and they claim they are closed when there is a sign on their front door that says their business hours is Monday through Saturday 5:00AM-2:00PM all of those days. If you're not open for business to sell what you advertise don't advertise as being open. Lazy ass employees just don't want to work an hour before closing. If you are closed at a specific time list the accurate hours of operation so people don't go in wasting their time. read more

The customer service here is great. Friendly staff who often have a morning rush, but they handle it well. I always get a smile and 'good morning' despite the chaos. They have a good selection of donuts and bagels. When I'm there, it's pretty early in the morning and they are usually rolling out fresh ones. They also are part sandwich shop in the afternoon and make good-sized sandwiches. The parking lot over there can be tight throughout the day, but in the morning it's fine. It's $1.50 for a bagel toasted with butter and usually about $.99 for a donut. It's tasty and a good, on-the-go breakfast. Choices: Caramel Long John (or what they call "bars"), Everything bagel toasted with butter, and Muffaletta sandwich. read more

I came for donuts and coffee one chilly morning recently, and left with a pair and a cup. Parting with less than $5 I was nether impressed or displeased with my purchase. Both were just okay, decent. The staff seem to know their trade well, handling oddball orders and lollygaggers without breaking a sweat. Saturday service seemed pretty expedited with plenty of stock on hand. I particularly like that you can get your coffee while still in line, saves time. I also got a iced caramel latte and it's great quality and for a small it's a good size and I don't feel like anything is overpriced. I would love to try the donuts next.
