We have been here twice, so I wanted to leave an honest review. This is located in a food truck park, so it is not a sit down restaurant. There is a window where you place your order, they give you a number, and bring your food to you. We tried to call ahead the first time, but no one answered, so probably better to just show up. Certain items are available on certain days. So just check out their menu. We ordered a small swamp grits, and a small seafood Mac and cheese to share. Both were flavorful and had a decent amount of seafood in them for the price. Service was not bad, and the owners are really friendly and greet everyone. There are tables to sit at in the outside patio area, so you can sit anywhere. There is also a decent amount of parking and restrooms. The second time we went on a Sunday, and a DJ was setting up as we were finishing. It seems like it would be a good place to chill. My only complaints are not being able to place an order ahead of time. The wait was a little long the first time, but the second time our food came within a few minutes. It seems like they are workout the kinks. All in all, this is a great black owned business to support! read more

Only reason this review is not a 5 star is because their wait times are the most horrendous thing I have ever seen. Luckily it was a nice evening and there was a great dj spinning and a little margarita stand set up. When my friend and I arrived here it was still relatively early and there were only 4 people in line ahead of us, however we waited about an hour+ until we were actually able to get to the window to place our order. There were individuals that ordered food 1.5 hours before us and still had not received their order. They need a little help in the kitchen and or being able to have a better system to get people in and out. The owner brought out the food and was very apologetic and mentioned that he had shut off his online ordering so that he could keep up with demands at the physical location, so he did care that this was happening and was trying his best. Now lets talk about the food. OMGoshhhh talk about a mouthgasm! We ordered the "Cajun Swamp Fries" which were just loaded up with goodness & then of course we got us about 6 pounds of "crawfish" and oh how they did not disappoint this New Orleans girl as the flavor was impeccable. I'm from Houston so brunch is in our DNA. The food was alright, nothing truly to run home about. The best part was the $2 mimosas and $10 carafes they have, really good and they let you mix flavors. The service was slow, real slow. Our server Ken was nice but it did take him a while to see us. My friend's food took almost 30 minutes to come out and by that time we were almost done eating but the chef came out and apologized and comped her meal. They need to get a DJ or something to liven the place up. Music was being played off of someone's phone and skipping track after track. A little out of the way...had a hard time finding it, but once there is was a decent little "hole in the wall". Went for dinner around 5:30pm. We had the cajun pasta and it had the right amount of kick to it. Very good and they give you A HUGE HELPING!! Wife had to take 1/2 of hers home. Found this place on a whim and hit it up for some take-out for two. Order: Seafood Pasta, Large Seafood Mac and Cheese Pro's: - The flavors are great. Mostly Nailed it on both dishes with one pretty big caveat I'll throw in the Con's. - Generous portion sizes with crawfish, crab, lobster, and shrimp for days. These guys aren't messing around. - Quick, easy, painless service. Food ready to go in a perfectly reasonable amount of time. - Priced right for what you order, I think. The one Con: - Man was that seafood pasta salty. I mean really, truly, too salty. I like salt just as much as anyone else but there's a fine line between not enough and just too much. This was like taking a direct hit to the mouth with a salt rock. Easier for the customer to add salt to their dish if it's not salty enough, I say. That said, I managed to navigate the salt-minefield and found plenty of bites here and there that were perfectly delicious so I'd like to give this place the benefit of the doubt and assume someone was a little heavy handed with the old salt shaker today. Well. I was happy to support a black owned business. Considering I am a business owner as well. The atmosphere was definitely club like! The music was loud and you can barely hear your server. It was 3 of us and none of the food came out the same time. Even tho 2 orders were the same! The fries were covered in paprika. My son's wings came out first. Then 15-17 mins later my fish and shrimp basket came out. Meanwhile the table next to us ordered after and received there food before us. Yes they ordered bbq which probably was cooked earlier and just being kept hot. However after 15 mins I asked our sever( which was a nice girl but could t hear her name) where my nephew food was and she said it's gonna be 15-20 more minutes. Which was confusing because we both ordered fish. My shrimp was over fried and salty. The fish was decent however one piece wasn't fully cooked to the same time as the rest because it was a different color. About 20 -25 mins after I asked bout my nephews food it then came out. Now mind you I we were seated directly by the kitchen and can see the cooking staff dancing and drinking and talking and not getting any orders out. By the time my nephews food came my food was cold because I wasn't going to eat without him. So we boxed our food to go. I asked the server what was the problem and she stated the cook couldn't find the fish. I have been in the culinary industry for over 15 years and explained to her how our family meal was ruined because we couldn't enjoy together. And the tickets should have been together so our food came out together. The drinks were amazing! I suggest the Strawberry Hennessey drink(girls wanna have fun) it was great and strong! I went for brunch and ordered the chicken waffle. Chicken was extremely deep fried and waffles were burned! How do you burn waffle and still serve it? The place wasn't appealing for me. One thing I HATED is they include tip in the check without telling you. You have to ask and you don't know how much they are charging for tip. I gave a 1 star because there was nothing that would make me give it more. Parking was horrible. I had fried fish which was very fishy, non seasoned, and very subpar drinks. My family had a crab pot and the only thing edible was the sausage. How do you mess up corn?? The music was old and the waitresses were slow when there was hardly anyone there. The hookah was trash. I am not bashing I am realizing Austin is not progressive for black people. Maybe hit up NYC or Atl and come back and redo the club/lounge/eatery scene. read more

Oh my goodness! This is one of the BEST restaurants on the planet. They just opened in this location. First, the food is delicious. They have authentic, flavorful Cajun food. Any of the seafood baskets are amazing and the seafood mac and cheese, and the bayou shrimp n' grits are some of the tastiest things I ever eaten. We just tried it for brunch and were not disappointed. I wanted to eat Cajun seasoned home fries all day. The atmosphere and restaurant set up is great. The music was a vibe. My bartender/Server Amani B was amazing. However the food was a 1 star. I got the breakfast platter. When it came out the potatoes were cold and not done, eggs were not fresh and grits were cold. Amani immediately went to go put in a refire! She checked on me constantly. Once the food came back out, the potatoes were better and the grits were clearly just put in a microwave. Eggs were not remade and nasty. Then I finally got to try the waffles. They were awful. I probably ate less than 10 bites. Manager gave me a free mimosa and I told her the truth about the food. However I was still charged for my food which should've been taken off. One of the managers (Serena) came by briefly to chat and she even offered us a slice of cheesecake, featuring both their bourbon sauce AND strawberry sauce. And yes..it was as fantastic as it sounds! Overall decent. Food was good. Everything is as if you are ordering like to-go orders. All of the seating is outside so be aware of how the weather is. Though there is covering for majority of the seating. On Saturdays they have $1 mimosas so that is a plus. I ordered the shrimp & grits for brunch and the dish was 4/5 but the rest of the vibe is what made me give it a 3 star. This is definitely a chill, casual spot. We enjoyed sitting on the patio, which had fans going, and it was cool even with the outdoor temp around 90. But- bottom line- the food was absolutely delicious! We had crawfish etouffe and crawfish grits, and then were both excellent! My etouffe was loaded with fish and shrimp and the seasoning was on point! Service was casual but very friendly, and we enjoyed chatting with the owner. Unacceptable customer service. Unapologetically and dishonestly late. Factor in at least an extra 30-90 minutes from what they tell you. They could not even process a refund after 60+ extra minutes of waiting because of their "system" and instead suggest waiting 15 more minutes.
