I've been looking for good Chinese food in Oviedo since I moved here last year. There are some bad ones here and a couple mediocre ones and I had given up until I found this little gem. Not only is it a great take out place, it's amazing to dine in as well: great atmosphere, friendly and quick service and I love the fish tanks. The good tastes so clean and delicious. They'll make anything you want and are very attentive. Curry chicken is one of my favorites here. read more

While looking for something to eat after an early movie I decided to visit Dragon Court since I haven't been in a while, and long behold it was replaced by Dragon City. What was going to be a routine dinning experienced turned out to be a new favorite place to eat. It's been slightly remodeled and has a nice spacious and clean feeling with the new decor. I ordered the Hot n Sour soup, Dumplings, Fried Wontons and House Special Fried Rice. The fried rice was good, and not greasy like some New York style take out restaurants. The Hot n Sour Soup is truly unique in flavor compared to others I have tried. I can see myself ordering just the soup alone for lunch in the biggest container they have available(Family Style). The Fried Wontons were a pleasant surprise along with the plating of the food. Everything was displayed with care down to the sliced oranges. I was surprised to find out this wasn't your average Chinese fast food place. Super clean inside and an actual restaurant that offers take out. The food was fresh and best part on the healthy side. White meat chicken and nothing was greasy. We ordered General Tso chicken, Orange chicken, beef teriyaki, wonton soup, egg drop soup, and eggs rolls. Everything was great. I had swung by this place several months ago and picked up some special soup - which I really liked... So, I was craving some Chinese and decided to head over for a pick up. My local Chinese restaurant is horrible, but this one isn't TOO far out of the way, so why not? The item to set the bar, of course, is hot and sour soup - I loved it, thought it was delicious. Ordered General Tso shrimp due to recommendation from previous reviewer, again, fantastic. My husband ordered crispy beef... Very good with great flavor. The only thing that was a big disappointment was the dumplings. See, I love dumplings, but I hate it when they are dough-y, and these are dough-y. All in all, a solid 4 stars. Will definitely be back to try different things. (I wonder how the moo shu is?) but, will someone please change the dumplings? Also, was I just super hungry, and was everything that good, that the portions seemed a tad smaller than your typical Chinese order? read more

I just moved to Oviedo and I was so happy to come across Dragon City. This is not your typical Chinese takeout. We had the Cashew Chicken and General's Chicken. Both dishes were awesome and full of flavor!! The dinners also came with a choice of soup and an egg roll. I will be back for sure to Dragon City! read more

Dragon Court has the same, run of the mill Americanized Chinese food that many other places in the area have. There is nothing particularly special or enticing about the place, aside from the fact that it convenient for anyone who lives in Oviedo. Saying it is gourmet is a joke. The prices aren't exactly reflective of the quality of the food, but they are reflective of the fact that it isn't a standard NY-style takeaway set up. If you're looking for a Tuesday night dinner close to the house that doesn't include a Thank You bag, this is probably one of your better choices. read more

I ordered the dinner special general tsos which comes with soup and never received it, instead I got white rice and charged more for the "specialty" platter. Dragon City is in the same location as Dragon Court, but with new owner. The owner was once the cook for Dragon Court. The inside is now clean of all that art that never sold, but the fish tanks are still there. Dragon City has a clean look. The people were friendly and vary polite. The food is some of the best Chinese food that I have had in a long time, everything was made fresh and was yet tasty. The dumplings were very large. Our dinners were excellent. We will be eating at Dragon City more often; it is like finding a treasure, when you find good Chinese food. They did not put pea and carrots in the fried rice and did not tempera everything. Their fried noodles that you get with your soup are made there and are light and not greasy. Dragon City is near gourmet. If I could give a foodie award - Dragon City would get one from me ;-) read more

I was excited by all the high reviews for this place and I have to say I had a pretty satisfying meal. The pros: the fried won ton strips tasted fresh and we were given a small bowl immediately to munch on while we browsed the menu. I ordered the buddha's delight and found all the veggies fresh and crunchy. I usually don't eat the fortune cookies, but the ones they served were really yummy and tasted like a vanilla cookie. I found the inside of this restaurant much nicer than most Chinese restaurants I have been to and the staff was friendly. We went on a Thursday night and were the only guests and felt a little awkward that everyone could clearly hear our conversation. I would recommend going on a busier night if you don't want to be the center of attention. The cons: we came for dinner and the dinner specials menu didn't include a single vegetarian option and specifically stated not to request substitutions. My boyfriend paid $1.50 more for his meal versus mine and was able to get soup, spring roll, and fried rice plus the meat and veggie component of his dish which looked identical to mine except it included steak. Kind of a bummer that they don't cater more to vegetarians, but not a deal breaker because my meal was still tasty. My boyfriend found his beef mediocre and wouldn't recommend this place above any other Chinese restaurant. If you are in the area and hungry, I'd vote to stop in, but I wouldn't go out of your way for it. read more

I love this place. My husband and I don't like to take chances when it comes to Chinese food, so we have been sticking to Pei Wei. Had a craving to this style Chinese food, and found this place by looking for the closest places to where we live. HOLY CRAP! Everything was delicious. The prices are high, and if you get a lunch/dinner special, you only have white rice or egg fried rice as options, so if you're looking for a pork fried rice, you're going to pay more, as they won't let you pay more to make your special a pork fried rice. But trust me, the money is worth it. The pork fried rice was delicious with tons of veggies and meat. Delicious! Dragon Court has to be the best Chinese place I've been too since I got to Central Florida. The General Tso's shrimp, as Peter mentioned, is amazing. We also had the honey and garlic chicken which was great and the very tasty Mongolian beef. The shrimp came with eggrolls which I will also add were some of the best egg rolls I've ever had. Went here because of the many excellent Yelp reviews. The food here is mediocre at best. The service is horribly slow and I would blame this on the fact that there was only one waiter. Not sure if this is the norm? It took at least 10min for the waiter to even come over to us and everything after that was also very slow. The waiter at one point was even manning the front desk. I would compare the food served as mediocre Chinese take out. Not worth the price. This is most certainly not the best Chinese food in the area and won't be back. read more

This is the best Chinese restaurant for miles around. Family run by Cindy. Does a huge takeout business but has a clean, quiet dine-in, too, with great service by waiter Han, who is attentive without hovering. While many Chinese restaurants use lower quality meat, chicken, beef and shrimp and hide it in deep fried thick breading, Dragon City does not. Meat is never "chewy", shrimp are large and deveined, and most dishes are stir fried without breading. Vegetables are fresh and al dente. Presentation includes vege flowers. Quality is consistent. Prices are reasonable; lunch and dinner specials are a bargain. Will prepare dishes not on the menu. Food arrives piping hot. We love Dragon City, and eat here often. read more

After being traumatized by my first Chinese restaurant since moving from NY, I decided to take a chance here. What caught my attention was praise for the cuts of meat in a review. First time I tried sesame chicken and I was very satisfied. A week later was General Tso's chicken and again satisfied. While this might not sound like praise worthy of 4 stars but all I was looking for was good neighborhood takeout comparable to NY (keyword "neighborhood" not Chinatown) and they delivered. Not as great as the ratings suggest. We tried this place out due to how close it was to our house and the ratings. This place was disgusting because the food was over-cooked, it was expensive, and portions were smaller than expected. There's a much better place, China Wok, in Winter Springs that has New York Style Chinese food we just get delivered now. read more

I went to Dragon City with my husband. We ordered the dinner special of Vegetable Chop Suey and Shrimp Lo Mei. The dinners came with soup and egg roll along with egg friend rice. I ordered vege hot and sour soup which was delicious. I really enjoyed the chop suey as well. Usually the vege chop suey is a little blend but this was perfect and had enough sauce. My husband also enjoyed the Lo Mein. I am from Chicago and I thought it was much better than Chicago dining experience in terms of restaurants in a small strip mall. The only recommendation that I would make is cutting the chicken to smaller pieces in the Sesame Chicken. Otherwise, everything was delicious, and very flavorful! The owners are lovely. They brought two platters of samples into the wine store, during the weekly wine tasting, to advertise their business. Wanting to support local business, we patronized them for dinner. Indeed, it is your average American-Chinese restaurant with really sweet owners and an interior that is modern and comfortable. Dragon City is a sleepy little Chinese place that is a bit more formal than most. They do not offer delivery service, but the interior of the restaurant is extremely nice. And the service is very attentive and prompt. The food is delicious! So much better than what you would get from Panda Express, Wok In, or a Chinese Buffet. Always friendly service no matter if we pick up or if we eat-in. No matter what we order, the food is always hot and tastes great. My neighborhood and I went there for New Year's Eve and the service was phenomenal with our 20 guests. We continue to go back to Dragon city because of the service and the good food. The food was disappointing after reading all these reviews. The service received was absolutely deplorable! The server walked away from me while I was asking a question, put his finger up, and ignored me three times. It was a very slow night and we were one of three tables, took 10 minutes for someone to come and take our drink order, took another 20 of waiving the rude server down to get a refill.
