Don't waste your time going here to their sit down pizza and pasta restaurant. First, its almost twice the price and half the servings of other Italian restaurants. Second, the pasta with brisket was mainly brisket fat. Third, the linguini pasta with seafood had plenty of mussels and clam shells but no sign of the mussels or clam. It did have two pieces of shrimp and one calamari. As for the noodles themselves, they were very crunchy. Sent it back for more cooking and got it back slightly softer. We had a LOVELY afternoon here this past weekend. Yes its busy, Yes its crowded and often a bit pricey but did you expect any differently? The food court is down the hall, this is a far stretch from Sbarro and taco bell and is a food lovers DREAM. We grabbed a glass of wine upon entering because shopping with a glass of wine in hand is like a no brainer. We wandered from section to section, looking at all the amazing products. We ended up visiting during their annual wine event. WHAT A TREAT. We sampled wines from numerous parts of Italy. The people pouring were so lovely, so educational and each took us through a guided sampling. We definately left a bit buzzed. We stopped on our way out for the slab pizza... OMG the mushroom and carbonara pizza was to die for. Absolutely delicious. My mushroom one was so falvorful, it was a generous piece and I devoured the entire thing and could have gone for more. Worst service in all of Boston. I have been here for 6 years and decided to buy their high end wine glasses. They had blatant defects with bubbles in the glass upon opening. The teams and management wouldn't event replace their own defective items all due to them using their predatory hidden policy that you have to return within 15 days. Do not shop here or you can expect they will force you to use defective items. They wouldn't even entertain the conversation and told me to eat it the cost. And if I wanted I could give them the glasses I paid for free of charge to them. Don't buy anything from here because if there is the slightest issue they won't be there for you. read more

Unfortunately we didn't realize we'd need a reservation for the restaurant located inside, because without it the wait time was 1.5-2 hours! Instead we decided to walk around and get pizza from the booth inside. They also have salad bar as an option, as well as a gelato booth! Salad bar was closing by the time we got to it, so sadly we couldn't try it! Pizzas were delicious ! We did have to wait around to find seating in the common area as well. After eating we took a shopping cart and did some grocery shopping! From different types of pasta, cheese, fresh produce, desserts, they have it all! All in all, great place to try! It was very unexpected that we were asked out by the restaurant with the oysters just bought from the seafood market inside of Eataly. When we found a seat and tried to sit down we asked a waitress if we need to buy food at the counter to have a space to stay. The waitress said it's ok there's no problem to stay. Me and my friend also noticed that there was ANOTHER group of people were finishing their dishes with outside food soon so we chose to stay. However a moment later another waitress came and said it's not ok to sit here with food outside. We told her about the situation and if she insisted to let us go she needed to do the same thing to the other group of people however she didn't. And she went to look for her manager. People from another group totally understood our situation and left the space to us then left. The manager then came and insisted to let us go cause he didn't see the other group of people. We were totally annoyed cause we felt being treated unequally. And we chose to defend our right. After a long time negotiation with the manager we finally got our seat. We were very glad we chose to stay, and we were still hoping Eataly would make improvement on treating people equally. read more

Overrated :( I came to take a peek at the famous eataly Boston and I was pretty darn hungry so I decided to get a couple things. Dang this place is confusing! At the front from the pru entrance, you have some counter foods but then you go further and there's like a grocery section and these strange "fancy-er" dining areas where you can sit down to eat. I for sure though it was more like a food court? You could go, get food, then sit to eat it there but not with table service.... I just wanted some fresh pasta! It really made me miss the old food court..... I bought some cheese, a baguette, and some prosciutto for about $10 but I couldn't find a place to sit and eat it??? So I found a bench in the mall, which is awkward because then everyone just walks by and watches you.... I think the concept should be reinvented and maybe eataly could be better. It's rather overpriced for what you could get walking down the street to like Trader Joe's or even getting in Whole Foods or a grocery but alas, it is what it is. I don't think I'd go back but if you're into the attraction of it, it's pretty fascinating to just walk through :) read more

I got a gift card to Eataly for Christmas. I tried to book a Wine & Cheese class online and was told classes cannot be booked with a physical gift card, I would have to have them convert it to an e-Gift card. After 4 business days, they converted it to an eGift card and I tried to book a class. I got a class registration confirmation, but then the next day, I got a class rejection. I emailed them to clarify what's going on. They responded that sometimes a class shows as available when it's actually not. Fine. I go to book a different class and find that my gift card balance was NOT restored for that class that was rejected. I cannot believe how painful it has been to attempt to book a class here; extremely frustrated with the customer service. read more

Do Not Try La Scuola Cooking Classes! My husband and I are huge fans of the market and have had great experiences eating there ever since they opened a few years ago, but I must warn against the cooking classes, based on an experience last week. The course was booked several weeks in advance for a 2.5-hour class with the following description: "Rome is a special city with a unique culture all its own. Spectacular remnants of Rome's ancient foundations blend almost seamlessly with chaotic scenes of modern life. While the landscape and monuments of Rome are testament to the city's grand past, the cuisine is much more a reflection of the Roman people." We expected to learn more about the cooking techniques and key features of Roman kitchens and to learn to make a couple of recipes. This did not happen At All.  Rome was never mentioned, and we did not learn about the cuisine or even the recipes we were "making." The fillings for our pasta were made ahead and loaded into pastry bags, which were passed to us to squeeze into manicotti shells (dried pasta, not boiled first, as the recipe card we received at the end confirmed should have been done! :( ). The "chef" who led the class barefly spoke at all, but walked through the motions of having us fill these hard shells and wait while they cooked. The frustrations were many with this evening that would have been an unsatisfactory restaurant meal, if it were not even expected to be a class, but here were the most egregious problems:  1. The class started late (6:20--we were told when we walked in at 5:55 that we needed to go away and come back at 6:00 start time) and was abruptly ended at 7:30, instead of 8:00, when we had eaten the modest dinner and desert 2. There was No Instruction At All, or even discussion with us. None of the staff seemed to know anything, including how to follow the recipe and boil the manicotti first. We were not allowed an opportunity to mix our own filling 3. The menu did not seem to fit the theme or even fit well together--Cheese Charcuterie Board, followed by baked stuffed manicotti, finished with one prepared cannoli that we squeezed prepped cream into. This is not what we come to Eataly for, and certainly not to a  class on how to Live Better and Eat Better in Rome.  4. The wine was insufficient, particularly given the disappointing food. One ~3 oz serving at each of three courses. The "instructor" tried to read the same limited information we had on our card and then told us to go ask in the wine department if we had any questions.  So, I would stick with Terra or a drink and snack at La Piazza wine bar or a gelato. :) read more

Eataly is a great addition to the Prudential center! It's such a quality, fun place to go for good pasta, sauces, pizza, wines, italian desserts, coffee, anything italian! Love the variety of shops/restaurants in there. The decors are very authentic and well done as well. Stayed at the Sheraton and just thought this was a regular "mall-attached restaurant" so I didn't give it much thought. When I actually walked in I was surprised that so much was there. The various markets and restaurants or stands were very inviting and showed you that whatever you were going to eat was going to be fresh. I went up to the Terra upstairs and had the Trumpet mushrooms skewers and the lamb entree. I will likely come back to Boston just for those 2. Try the mushrooms! Surprisingly good! Not worth the amount of money we spent and awful services We had the bruschetta, burrata and pesto pizza, and the Parpadelli al Funghi. All dishes were okay, but we had to send the pizza back the first time because it was cold. When served the second time she basically slammed it on our table. In addition, for the amount of money paid for the pasta dish, it was as small as an appetizer and not at all worth the money.For the amount of money we pay for everything this was just not a good experience. Eataly was a really cool experience. It is inside the Prudential Center and you have to walk a little ways to find it once you're inside. We put our name in at the pasta bar when we first got there and then walked around looking at the groceries. We also got a drink while waiting at the wine bar. We waited about 30/40 minutes for a seat at the pasta bar. The Caico e Pepe was so good! The portion wasn't huge but just enough for a pasta dish. It went well with my wine spritzer. You have to try the gelato before you leave! I had the tiramisu flavor which was amazing. Definitely take some pasta, sauce, meat or cheese home to enjoy later. read more

Eataly is a wonderful combination of a grocery store, grab-and-go food options, and sit-down dining. I like different aspects of Eataly more than others, but can definitely say that coming here is an experience in itself and it always has be coming back to explore more. There are different show areas to see how either bread is baked, gelato is made, meat is aged, and fresh pasta is churned out. Super fun and educational. Eataly is a great place to grab some fresh pasta, tomato sauce, greens, dessert, and wine to complete your own DIY Italian date night at home. Definitely something I would try! Where I've been: LA PANETTERIA: This is the baked breads and pizza counter. They always have free samples of their bread. One of my favorites is this round loaf of potato bread with oregano. Best eaten fresh on the day of purchase, as with all their breads. I would not recommend the bread with prosciutto and cheese baked inside- while it sounds delectable, it lacked flavor and was not good after 1-2 days. The attached pizza counter serves up a variety of different slices on focaccia and uses super fresh, delicious ingredients. I would highly recommend grabbing a quick bite to eat from here. IL GELATO: Solid place to get gelato and sorbetto. They make it fresh in house with local milk and imported ingredients. I would definitely recommend pistachio and coconut. My friend said the tiramisu and caffe were too sweet for her liking and was unable to finish it. IL PESCE: This is one of the few sit-down dining places that sits first come, first serve, no reservations. It's specialty is seafood and I like that there's some focus on fishing responsibly and seasonally. It's a slight step up from your average Italian restaurant chain but definitely not something better than what you find in the North End. I wouldn't recommend this if you've got better places to go, but it's also possible to get a decent meal out of here. Eately was disappointing in comparison to the ones in New York. We had Le Pizza and Pasta and the Pasta pomodoro was not the same. The quality of it in comparison to other Eataelys was not as good and the Tagliatelle was not good at all. We also had the Tiramisu and the creme puff and that wasn't even good. The market and wine room is nice though. But for food, you can skip unless you are in the New york locations then Eately is a must go. Also the pizza place had banana chocolate chip bread which was just good... wish it was better. In addition, for dessert I had 2 cannolis made to order at the cannoli bar downstairs! I'd recommend a chocolate dipped cannoli with black and white cream with chocolate on the outside they were some of the best cannolis I had ever had. Cool concept, incredibly poor customer service. I had read about this place and wanted to check it out. It was incredibly busy, and finding a place to sit was practically impossible. We were a party of 3, and there were 2 seats available on one side of the bar at the seafood restaurant, and singles sprinkled between already seated parties. A red-headed waitress was staring at us, with a scowl, as we were trying to figure out what to do. It was so uncomfortable. As soon as I asked her if we could move one of the chairs, she immediately snapped "you can't move the chairs" before I could even finish my question. I seriously don't know what her problem was. If that's what the policy is, that's fine. But that's not how you speak to customers. We ended up leaving Eatly and going to another restaurant. After we finished our lunch we returned to grab some dessert and walk around. While looking at some of the products, the same freakin red headed waitress came up behind us and again snapped at us to get out of the way--she grabbed something from one of the shelves behind us. I seriously don't know what was wrong with that woman. I tried the Tiramisu from the dessert counter. It was quite good. They also had a good selection of imported foods, however you can get the same items for cheaper in other markets. One of the best coffee places with real tasty coffee! I think they are a part of restaurant Eataly, thus they have very-very good Italian coffee. I've seen a lot of packs of Lavazza coffee. The place inside is not too big, but it is enough space to make a quick stop, to take an amazing cappuccino with as well an amazing croissant. Since they are in Prudential Center - on of the most busiest shopping centers in Boston - they are always busy and there is a line of customers. But usually it is just a couple of minutes for wait. I went here with my girlfriend. We sat at bar where we dined after planning on getting a private table. The reason was this bartender named Ronnie. He was devilishly handsome (my girlfriend's comment , I did not notice) and had a joke or funny story, amusing anecdote - accompanied by ability to make me an espresso Martini (I am picky as you can see from my other reviews) and as for her, his wine knowledge was like a sommelier and she said let us just eat at the bar where the food was just wonderful also. Let's start out by saying I have come here almost every day for lunch since they opened. Being that they have a lot of options and are usually quick. My go-to stop is at their salad bar, and today might be my last. I'm going down 2 stars from my previous rating because of the salad bar service. Never have I felt so uncomfortable ordering a salad. I ordered my usual salad which comes with egg, tomato, radish, and tomatoes. When placing my order I asked for an extra egg and no carrots. Apparently this set them off and they began talking to each other under their breaths. I understood it would cost me extra, and I have never had an issue in the past. I really didn't think this was a big deal seeing as I have done this before. My friend was also with me, ordering the same salad with an extra egg and added goat cheese. When it got time for them to toss the salad, they somehow mistook our salads and put the bread on mine thinking it was my friends. I politely told them that was not my salad and I did not want bread. They took the bread off and again, continued to talk about me to each other, this time NOT under their breaths. I find it very unprofessional that employees talk amongst themselves regarding guests standing directly in front of them, thinking we can't hear or understand. The ambiance was lovely but unfortunately the food was not worth the cost. Our table got the avocado toast, polenta, and brioche French toast. The poached eggs were all cooked differently. Our table had three in total: one was undercooked to the point of the whites being runny, the next was over cooked like a hard boiled egg, and the last one was cooked correctly. The polenta was not well seasoned and there was no salt and pepper on the table for us to personally adjust. Other than the seasoning and the egg, the polenta was tasty and was a decent portion size. The avocado toast also tasted good besides the poached eggs and was a decent serving size. The French toast was only one and a half pieces and came with approximately three blueberries and less than one strawberry. Since this French toast was such a small meal, we requested a side of eggs which was not accommodated despite us being willing to pay for it. There is nothing better - in my opinion - than a place that offers a lot of choices for fresh and tasty authentic dishes. Eataly has provided that and much more, virtually transporting us to another part of the world. It's like an Oasis in the middle of the mall. LOL I particularly enjoyed the fresh mozzarella and prosciutto, the three fish crudo and the $1 oysters. I ran out of capacity to eat, but I'd love to return and try the salumi and cheese boards. Pretty interesting concept, essentially it's like a little Italy in the middle of prudential center. There are small cafes and restaurants located inside along with selling multiple items from cookware to actual food seasonings and pastas, Italian themed of course. The food is a little on the pricier side but I mean it's located in the prudential center so that essentially speaks for itself. High quality food equals high prices. I grabbed a slice of pizza and a can soda and it was almost $10, the pizza was an oven brick pizza, but honestly I don't think it was worth $7 for one slice. Summary: If I was in the prudential center, this would be a cool place to shop and walk around in. I have to say though if you're claustrophobic I would avoid this place, constantly packed, little room to sit and eat. read more

We were meeting family from Chicago in Boston after Christmas and ended up having two meals in the same day at Eataly. We arrived early in time for lunch and sat at the pizza and pasta restaurant. I had a really hard time deciding between pizza and past and finally decided on the mushroom pasta. This was one of the most flavorful dishes and the most simple at the same time. Later that night when the family had arrived we decided this spot probably wasn't the right venue for their two small children so we decided to get the food to go and bring it back to the Sheraton. The pizza was good, but the pasta was definitely the star of the show. I have to mention the one negative part of the experience. When we arrived for lunch I asked the host how long the wait was for 4. He told me to would be 5-10 minutes. 20 minutes later I approached the same man and he motioned to a table and said they were clearing it for us. 5 minutes later after watching the incredibly slow bus people set the table I approached again.
