The Service: Owner JP is definitely a hands-on operator. He is always checking with customers making sure everything is ok Our Server Chaw, she is such an angel . Not only she gives good recommendations but also super attentive. The service is professional & pleasant, absolutely A+! JP definitely leads a great team. Great customer service always brings back loyal customers. The Food: When it comes to sushi, I am always indecisive what to order. AYCE sushi will be the perfect solution. I can try different things without breaking my banks. I heard EAT's Sushi has the Premium menu ($48.99, only $9 more than the regular price $39.99 ) that I couldn't wait to try. I went during lunch time because daily limited supply. I wanted to make sure I got to try everything on that Premium menu. My favorite ones are soft shell crab and all the new style sashimi. They are huge pieces! If I order a la carte at sushi restaurants, the price will be more than double. Not only I can order these special items, there are still two full pages of sushi, speciality rolls and hand rolls to choose from. The price is unbelievable & affordable with the high quality fish & ingredients! Also, if you are cutting back your carbs, they have selections of "No Rice Roll". How thoughtful! Amazing!! It has quickly become one of my favorite sushi spots! Parking is easy since there are plenty of garages around the area. My friends and I came around 630pm on a Friday and waited about an hour. I come for AYCE but they do have an a la carte option as well. Their salmon is easily my favorite. Everything tastes so fresh and the waiters were so nice. They create such a welcoming environment with everyone greeting you as you walk by. A must try for sure! read more

Went for their weekday ayce special and at $37 dollars for dinner. I think this is a pretty good price point for ayce nowadays. My favorite part was their crispy rice and the seared nigiri (pepper tuna and salmon) because not all ayce places have it. Their regular tuna and salmon did not impress us and we stuck to just the pepper versions after the first round. I would definitely go back but it's not my first pick of ayce spots. I do want to try the premium menu but felt the price point wasn't worth one order per person. Service was great, they were all very attentive and food came out quickly. read more

How come I didn't discover this place sooner? A great choice for high quality premium AYCE sushi options. You can only add to the waitlist when you get to restaurant so make sure to come a little bit earlier than the time you plan to eat. They have a regular and a premium option and not everyone is required to choose the premium option if someone wants to try it out in your group. For the premium items, it's 1 order per item so it's based on number of people choosing this option. This makes it easier because not everyone is forced to choose the expensive option. Although I must say the premium is worth the extra money! The amount of sashimi you get to try is worth it. Plenty of sushi, rolls qnd appetizers to choose from. Parking is available in the parking structure on the side street. Can get busy during the weekends. read more

Finally got to try this new AYCE sushi place in Alhambra that everyone's been raving about. We stopped by for dinner on a weekday so it was $36.99/person. There were so many items to choose from the regular option so we opted out of the premium option, which was $48.99/person. We ordered Carpaccio, tempura, miso soup, house salad, baked green mussels, baby lobster rolls, sushi, takoyaki, edamame, salmon collar, spider roll, and Philadelphia roll. The sushi tasted really fresh and the carpaccio was our fav dish. Everything was really yummy and portion size is just right. Loved that they didn't add that much sushi rice with the nigiri. Came out to eat with dad AYCE at our very hometown. I love the SGV and the convenience of finding delicious food at affordable prices. Really great AYCE spot! For $39 (which is definitely the cheapest AYCE sushi I've had), you get to choose from a wide variety of rolls and apps (including a ton of non-rice rolls which I really enjoyed). Flavor/freshness was a solid 7/10. Service was really quick, all staff were friendly. Got on the waitlist at 7pm on Saturday and were seated about ~30 min later. Very large free parking lot right behind the restaurant. Also, great street to walk around after with shops and other restaurants. The women's bathroom was really unkept and gross!! The owner should really think about doing half portions on their rolls for the AYCE option, so people can try other rolls without being wasteful. Unless it's a big party, it doesn't seem reasonable to give full size, I saw one table left and the wasted 4 plates of full size rolls! It saves the company money and it conserves food. Overall the fish quality was good, and the miso soup is crack! The baked mussels are delish, they packed it with other things, like crawfish and scallops. I like that you can mix premium and regular ayce, my friend got premium so I still got to try all the carpaccios! The tempura was crispy and I liked the shishito peppers. Honestly good! read more

I had my 2nd visit today. I arrived around 12:30. Ordered miso soup, dragon roll, salmon, yellow tail and unagi nigiri. The fish was okay. Didn't knock me out but it wasn't bad. I also ordered 1 salmon skin and 1 unagi hand roll. (which I also ordered on my previous visit). Last time the salmon skin hand roll had the traditional conical shape. The other one was a straight cylinder (I just thought it wasn't made carefully.... turns out this was intentional....apparently some new-fangled hand roll design) which when I tried to eat it vertically like every other hand roll I've ever had, the ingredients all squeezed out the bottom. Today I was delivered 2 cylinders and I learned that this is the "new design" and they don't have the right nori paper to do a traditional conical roll....(so I didn't order another one....). They also mistakenly brought me 2 salmon skin rolls instead of what I ordered. I was pretty full when I ordered my 2nd round. I was hoping to enjoy some more eel and avocado, more shrimp tempura in a roll....so I ordered a caterpillar roll and another dragon roll (or something similar....) along with a 2nd bowl of miso soup and one each tako & seared albacore nigiri. The albacore was okay. The tako was good. The caterpillar roll was a huge disappointment, because of course my goal is not to fill up on too much RICE and also SURIMI - I usually scour menus for rolls that contain neither. On my first visit the surimi portions were small enough not to bug me....but this roll was little but rice and surimi. There was barely the equivalent of 2 pieces of eel nigiri inside (I removed the tiny pieces, ate them and left piles of rice & surimi behind after filling up on one or two non-dissected pieces). The avocado slices on top were too thin for my taste (avocado is one of my favorite ingredients....doling it out too thin is a pet peeve of mine recalling the famous quote "A painting of a rice cake does not satisfy hunger" -which Vic the Bric used to repeated to Lamar Odom....) I scraped the painted on avocado slices and ate those too. Next time I'll simply order more eel nigiri and an "avocado salad" and create my own perfect combinations and portion sizes. I really should (and do) know better than to gamble my precious stomach space on some rolls, which are usually the bain of the existence of the smart AYCE sushi aficionado (I'm a bit out of practice). Live and learn. I'm still looking forward to my next visit....(and I'm still full, hours later....) (p.s. the service is good, too oh and btw the paper marking menu they gave me today was white paper - way better than yellow, so that's good!) read more

Recommended Highlights The menu offers a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, hand rolls, and hot dishes--pretty much everything you might want is available. The presentation is beautiful with great attention to detail. The sashimi melts in your mouth, and the temperature of the sushi rice is just right, enhancing the freshness of the fish. All the ingredients are very fresh. There's absolutely no pressure when you eat here--you can relax and enjoy as much as you want. The value for money is especially good, making it a great spot for sushi lovers. Going during weekday lunchtime is the most cost-effective. This was my first time trying Eats AYCE Sushi, and it definitely lived up to the hype. Even though we went with the standard AYCE menu instead of the premium option, there were still plenty of choices to enjoy. The regular menu had a great variety of sushi rolls, nigiri, hand rolls, appetizers, and hot dishes, so we never felt limited, but there is nothing that made this place feel better than the other AYCEs Everything we ordered came out fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I recently dined at Eat's Ayce Sushi and I had a pleasant experience. The seafood was fresh and I especially enjoyed the salmon, yellowtail, and pepper salmon. However, I found the sushi to have a bigger amount of rice when compared to other AYCE sushi spots. I also ordered the salmon skin salad, which was good, but there was some confusion with the dressing. The menu listed ponzu, but mine came with a homemade ginger dressing instead, which is what their house salad has. While the flavor was fine, I wish the salmon skin could have been crispier. I enjoyed the Pink Lady (no rice roll) and the portions on their rolls were great! You could definitely try a couple of different ones without feeling overwhelmed. The service was excellent--our servers were very attentive, checking on us every 15 minutes or so. Came here for their Japanese all-you-can-eat on a weekday lunch--so popular that there was already a line forming before noon! The restaurant is spacious with Japanese-style decor, and there's a large parking lot behind the building where you can park for free for up to 4 hours. The price is really reasonable! Monday to Friday lunch is only $29.99, dinner is $36.99, and weekends are $39.99. If two people come together and one orders Premium while the other orders Regular, you can actually share and mix items from both menus! How thoughtful is that? I had the chance to visit on a rare rainy day in Southern California, so the restaurant wasn't too crowded. Our group of 14 was seated quickly, and the food came out super fast. We could barely keep up with eating, and the table got a little cramped. For the AYCE, you're allowed two rounds of ordering, so I recommend starting with fewer items in the first round. If you order from the Premium Menu, prioritize those items and wait for them to come out before ordering more. The sashimi quality was fantastic--definitely on par with higher-end Japanese restaurants. I particularly loved the scallops and sweet shrimp, which were incredibly delicious. However you only get one order of sashimi per guest, which I could accept as fair. However, guest paying the senior price do not get the sashimi, which seemed more discriminatory to me. The menu is not extensive but the cuts of meat and sushi available are again of good quality. You order by scanning your table's QR code and ordering yourself. Excellent setup to avoid constantly asking waiters for different items and having them forget or be too busy, but some people may not like QR codes at sit down restaurants. Aside from the ordered meats and sushi there is a cold bar of vegetables/tofu/fish balls and sauces. There is usually a line/wait by peak hours, they use Yelp waitlist for the queuing and max I've waited an hour for table during opening. On my last visit I saw they had 30 ish USB fans at the counter to be distributed to guest tables on request, that's a first I've seen at a restaurant. Staff from host to server to bussers are polite and work quickly, overall an excellent choice for shabu sushi if you can avoid the peak lines.

Had the Spicy Dan Dan Men as well as the Satsuma Ramen. The Spicy Dan Dan Men was pleasant, with nice kick, tasty protein, and fresh vegetables that cut into the richness of the noodle soup. The Satsuma Ramen has tender slices of cha shu, crispy onions, and flavorful noodles with a rich broth. Both are fairly tasty, nothing that knocks your socks off but definitely worth a stop if you like this kind of food!! Overall, SSG gets a 7/10. I'm interested in trying the yakitori and maybe the udon if I head over here again. Definitely recommend that you give it a shot.
