This is a cute small cafe. I dropped in before work to get my caffeine fix. I got the horchata latte and it was good! It was a nice balance of horchata and coffee. They have fresh Portos pastries in the morning! I got a guava cheese roll and cheese ball. I had initially asked for a potato ball, so that's what I was charged for. He later saw that they didn't have any potato balls the box and asked if I would like a cheese ball instead. I said yes to save myself from the hassle of the refund. I wish they had a list of costs for the pastries, so I don't blindly purchase them. I felt like they were up charged a bit, but at least I don't have to wait in line for them. read more

Friendly staff; unfortunately when we were there, a man came in to harass the employees. Also, the environment was a little cramped. So not a great place to actually meet with friends, unless you sit outside. My tea latte wasn't flavorful at all, to watered down. Rode our bikes here as a family on a sat morning. Nice latte (they have soy, almond and coconut milk). I had a coconut latte and a gluten free donut (that's all they had.. and it was nice). Guess it's a locally made product. Nice friendly service, clean bathrooms, nice patio seating to people/car watch on carson. Nice addition to our neighborhood. A new little coffee spot finally opened up on Carson in the village. Yay!! No more having to go to Starbucks due to lack of options. I think this is well needed addition to my hood. All the dope coffee houses in LB are on the other side of town. Eco Coffee House is this darling earthy joint boasting their specialty in organic fair trade coffee that is locally hand crafted. Um, don't ask me what that means, but it sounds good to me. I've tried two drinks here- London Fog (Early Grey, steamed milk, and vanilla) and Mexican Mayan Mocha- a hot coffee drink with Mexican chocolate- super yummy if you love the sweet. I heart this place and totally dig the vibe here. Chill reggae music plays while you wait for your drink. I'm totally mellow when I leave. If you're around this part Long Beach- drop in. Great brewewd coffee, friendly baristas, convenient location, near Long Beach City College.

Although I must admit that I love Starbucks, I really like and prefer the quaint charm of a small coffee shop. And quaint indeed, is exactly what Eco Coffee is all about. I love the fact that they sell pastries from the local Porto's in Downey (uhh, who doesn't love Porto's?!), plus the fact that they brew ORGANIC coffee. Now that's awesome in my book! But, what's even more awesome is... their milk substitutes! They have almond milk, coconut milk, and soy milk - all of which can be substituted in any drink for an extra $0.50. It should be noted that even with the added extras (i.e. milk substitutes), their prices are on par with Starbucks and might even be a little cheaper. I considered trying their horchata latte, but opted to get their London Fog instead. It basically tasted like an English breakfast latte from Coffee Bean (my favorite!), but the tea was a lot stronger and almost too spicy for my taste. Hence, the 4 stars. But, my fiance's drink was awesome - he ordered the toffee nut, which wasn't overly sweet and had a beautifully complex and nutty taste to it...YUM! I really liked his drink, plus the guava cheese pastries we ordered :) I talked to the owner about potentially putting up some check-in deals on Yelp, so perhaps we'll see that in the future! In the meantime, I hope to come back soon to try their horchata latte, as well as their other specialty coffees...the flavors sure looked interesting and tasty! :) read more

I like this place a latte :) Even though it is very small, I think it's more endearing that way. I've never had a problem getting a table and a plug for my laptop, and I go around lunchtime. As the name suggests, Eco Coffee uses eco-friendly ingredients by keeping it organic. The space is filled with works from local artists, which I dig. I have never had a disappointing drink here, and I have tried quite a few. Their Chai Latte is the best I've had! Everyone here is very casual and laid-back. The baristas always have a friendly greeting for me, and I always see them chatting to regulars like old friends (or who knows, maybe they are). The prices are quite reasonable, given the quality. For my fellow lactose-intolerant brethren, they offer not only soy, but almond and coconut milk! $0.50 extra, but that's usually the drill. This. Place. Is. Love. If I could do 6+ stars for this review, I would. I've noticed this place after I moved down to Long Beach at around 4 years ago. I always passed by it whenever I had to go to the laundromat. Didn't ever really think about going in there until I saw all of the excellent reviewers. And, since the bf loves to have good coffee, we decided to try it out. ...And we haven't stopped. One of the employees recommended the Mayan mix as a blended drink. Normally it's a regular hot drink, but I asked him what his favorite blended drink was, he mentioned the Mayan mix, and the bf and I each had an order of it. SO AWESOME. It has the chocolate, lots of cinnamon and whatever goodness he put in there. I know he mentioned all the ingredients, but I was too entranced into my blended drink to remember it all. We've tried their iced coffee, which is brewed in a way where it's brewed cold; the iced coffee is never warm, even when it's being brewed through water. Nice and bitter and strong. The bf loves bitter drinks, so I think we have a winner! I've had their java chip blended drink, and I will likely be getting it again. Instead of using milk chocolate like Starbuck's and major coffee places, Eco Coffee (I think) uses dark chocolate, which the bf adores and I enjoy if it's got a good pairing. And Eco has a good pairing. =D Pastries are pretty good too. If you have heard of Portos, the quality of their pastries speak for themselves. If you never had Portos, find it on googlemaps (I think the closest one is in Downey), bring a foodie friend(s), expect a line or two that will go really fast, and order everything possible. So, yes, Eco Coffee gets their pastries from Portos and are a match made in heaven. Or, grab an Eco Coffee drink and go to Grounds Bakery Cafe (around 3 miles south east of Eco Coffee) for a bagel or breakfast sandwich. Your taste buds and your stomach would be overjoyed. Parking has never been too bad for us. There are a few small parking lots in the area so you can have easy access to Eco. We normally get there right around the time they open, so no issues with parking. Service here is awesome. They listen, they are professional, they're friendly, they're funny. The service is one of the reasons we keep coming back. If a restaurant had excellent food but crap service, we'd never go back. But coming to Eco, where you can get excellent food and excellent drinks AND great service is like winning a million bucks every time you come in. This place is great. This is a small organic coffee shop that also serves smoothies. It is located right off of Carson. There's a driveway on either side of the shop for access to two different parking areas and two bike parking areas out front. When it's busy it can be hard to find parking and the parking spaces in one of the lots are a bit on the small side. When you walk in there's some seating off to the right and the counter is on the left. There is also some outdoor seating available. The space wasn't planned out well for traffic moving through the store. This becomes a bit of an issue when it's busy as you're not sure who is waiting for coffee and who is in line. There are some board games on the shelves along with several books. I didn't ask the employees to confirm but I'm pretty sure those are there for customer use. The coffee is a bit more expensive than Starbucks but so much better! A few occasions when it wasn't busy and I couldn't decide what to get, the barista asked me questions about what I felt like...do I want something rich, light, decaf, etc. He recommended a drink with some small changes. Both times the drink was perfect for what I wanted at the time! My favorite right now is the iced horchata latte with coconut milk. So yummy! read more

Sometimes simple is better! I walked in here after a hot yoga session to see what they sell,and I had luck because they make really delicious smoothies,perfect after a sweaty workout! The young lady/cashier,was very helful in helping me select a flavor and what items to put in my smoothie! Small comfortable vibe inside! It seems they have regulars that come here. But that didn't distract the staff from giving me any less attention or service! Definitely had to tip them for their going far and beyond services. They have tea's and coffee too. BEST PEACH SMOOTHIE EVER!! So I am not a big coffee drinker and occasionally will try a coffee.... I didn't this time lol. I came here for the smoothie. The best way I can describe this smoothie is it actually tasting like a peach. Not a dry gross peach but a ripe juicy fresh peach. The serving sizes are smaller than usual and yes that makes me sad but it's definitely a great reason to just order a bigger one. About the coffee... My mother got one and she said it was delicious. The service: they've got some seriously cool dudes working there and have " I just got out of bed hair". Really nice guys The building itself is freaking small and you have to cram your poor little body into this building with all the other people in there... so that sucks.. Anyway. Came here with four friends and we each order a different drink... All were really delicious! All with almond milk: - Chai latte on ice - Mayan mocha on ice - Mocha on ice - Horchata latte, warm Perfect for a warm day. My brother likes the lattes better warm, but it was way too warm for that. They also serve some pastries from Portos. The actual place is small, but very cute. The parking lot is a bit small, so if it's too crowded just park near Heartwell park and walk over. No prices on the shake menu namely the lovely date shake. Only found out the price when charged, they're upwards of $10+ dollars for one drink shake. Every time I come here the customer service is fantastic! My fiancé and I used to call this place "Pete's" after the owner. He's fun, and makes excellent drinks. They host open mic nights and have bands play every once in a while. This is a great place to go hang out or swing by before starting your day. Nice location outside of downtown long beach. You get down to earth environment without being in a cramped city spot. I drive 20 mins just to get my coffee here. Try it. You will love it. read more

Add a RipnSip pack of CBD to get that balanced energy with a level of relaxation. The Mayan Mocha is a flavor the bucks the stars! The Toffee Latte is a unique yet delicious drink. The Date Smoothie is tasty and nutritious, definitely a meal replacement option that gives dessert vibes. Bagels are tasty but make sure to get one if you see them as they tend to sell out. Pete and Indica are some of the dopest people in the LBC. Impeccable customer service and quality commitment to serve their customers as it's a place of community. I love this place for coffee. It is so good, but the overall experience is a big no bueno. First of all, you will be waiting at least 15 minutes for your drinks in a hot as hell environment. I have been here 20 minutes and am still waiting. Secondly, the staff is not friendly. The girl helping me today is brushing her hair at the cash register, didn't smile or say hello when I went up to order...I am serious I am watching her brush her hair as I write this... gross The smoothies have no fruit in it whatsoever so don't bother ordering it. The workers are drinking the extra blended drinks that are leftover right as they pour them.... I just can't believe all of this is happening right in front of me... and I am still waiting for my drinks It's too bad because the coffee is good but I will not be returning.... read more

My experience with this place wasn't good at all. On a study break in between classes, my classmate suggests we go get coffee. She had a bit of a cold and I was just getting over one as well. I ordered the Chai Latte, hot. She ordered a regular hot coffee. He makes the drinks and hands me a iced drink and her a warm one. Okay, I can drink an iced Chai, no big deal. My friend opens up her cup and throws in a few sugar packets. She tastes for sweetness and makes a face. She was handed the Chai Latte and I was handed an iced coffee. We take them back and explain the mix up. He takes the iced coffee and leaves the Chai latte on the counter. I ask him what about my drink? He said there's your Chai latte. I explain that now one: it's overly sweet and two: she drank out of it and she's sick. He begrudgingly remakes both our drinks. We ended up with super weak coffee and Chai latte. We didn't complain again because we had studying to do and couldn't be bothered. I will not be returning for weak, almost flavorless, lukewarm Chai Latte. read more

Yelp, when are you going to start allowing half-star ratings? I would give Eco 3 1/2 stars. It's a very cute shop in that little triangle at Carson and Bellflower. Both times that I have been there, I have received good service. Their black coffee (the way I like it) is good. There is a small selection of baked goods to choose from, and I tried their chocolate sea salt vegan donut, which is more moist and tasty than that of the previous coffee shop I tried last week. It cost $5.00 for these two very simple items this time, also an improvement from last week's shop! I'm in the wrong line of work, though. If I can make that much off a vegan donut, time to break out the donut pan, coconut oil, Ener-G and ACV and get baking. read more
