I reviewed Ecola back in June 2021. I thought they'd try harder to improve services. If there could be "0" stars, I'd give it to these folks. Being an optimist, I held off on writing another review in the hopes that some tiny bit of good attitude/service would appear. It did not. And in reading reviews from others, I see that I am not alone. Their internal communication remains a HUGE mess and their employees just don't seem to care. This type of behavior generally starts from the very top. I was told my concern was referred to the "owner". Can't tell if this was to appease me or if it was true. And if the "owner" in fact was forwarded my email, it definitely starts at the top as the "owner" just doesn't care enough to reach out to explain or apologize for my now even lower opinion of their operation. Dave W called me twenty minutes ahead of our appointment. He showed up and was very professional. Our house had recently been painted and I wanted to have a follow up to see if there was any damage that I did not see or need to have addressed. He didn't see any damage and told me to call them if I see any damage. I highly recommend this company that isn't out to take advantage of customers who don't need the service. First of all the receptionist who answered at least the second time after the service didn't work the first time it was rude. The second time I called, emailed texted multiple times and then they claimed that their phone numbers changed even though it was well within the 30 day service. Both times I had so many bugs that I will never use the service again. I had worse bug problems than I did before they came out. I had Airbnb guess more Modified that we had not only spiders but tons and tons of ants within the warranty. They offered to come spray, but it was only after I lost over $700 for an Airbnb rental, where the guest demanded a refund and fled the house three days early because of all the bugs. Mike and Abner are running a ridiculously disorganized operation where they don't answer the phones, they barely answer text message and when you try to confront them, they say they never receive the message or their phone number. I was really happy with the service until two months ago when my regular guy was late. I called him only to find out someone in the office gave my account to another individual I do not know!!! So WITHOUT letting the customer know they changed the serviceman, date and time of the appointment which is in my book is not professional. I've been dealing with the same person for years who knows my home, dogs, and my preferences. I immediately called as I was livid, asked my account be noted that only Sean should be servicing my home, and asked for a manager and was told one would call me. That never happened. My last review was 10/3. I thought with the phone and e-mail communication with Ecola things would get better. They got worse. I had to wait until I could be calm and rational before I wrote this because something is very wrong with the communication, the direction/scheduling/ and file dissemination and the promises that are made to clients. Since they had cancelled or forgot or didn't tell the workers I had too start over in making appointments, knowing I had a surgery that I needed to get things done prior to the medical need. I scheduled the termite problem visit on my own, I spoke to the supervisor and he asked for dates for the rodent control, and said he would make sure it was taken care of. I sent him the dates and he e-mailed back and confirmed one. Well, the day came for the rodent control and no one showed up. I called, they called the worker. The girl didn't have it on her schedule. The worker came this week(11/1 and no one had told him that he was supposed to be at my home on 10/23. Would you believe the next day they called and cancelled the termite visit ? I was livid. I called back and told them I would hire someone else outside the company to do it, which is what I did. When I spoke to the girl I mentioned that I also sent e-mails on their computer site to supervisors or to confirm. I asked "What do you do with those e-mails?" "Does the person get them?" She said they attach them to the client's folder. I asked how would anyone know to pull the folder to see the e-mail. She had no answer for that. I had my surgery, they missed a month by not following through on their promises to fix things, so I had to call and schedule for rodent control . The girl said it says you cancelled your account." I could not believe what I was dealing with or hearing. I told her I said in regards to termites that I was going to get someone else to fix my home problem (even if I have paid for a full year of inspections, if needed, and never asked them to come out) since Ecola would not comply with their appointments, I had no idea what she was talking about. This review has no reflection on the workers that come to your home. In all the years I've only had one person who drilled holes for termites and left my window sills filled with holes, otherwise they are polite, hard working and nice people. Would you believe I was asked to possibly alter my first review (I won't get into the details on that one) , I have never heard from the head of the company, supervisor or other supervisors since all of these things occurred. In my opinion it is as if I don't exist and they don't care that there is no communication, no relaying of messages (when I called to make the appointment for this week, I also left a message for the worker that was coming. He never got it. It was a flashback to the other person that worked there and did the rodent control, I would leave messages , but he wouldn't get them , (except one time when someone took it upon themselves to open a letter I had clearly marked Personal..it was a Wedding card.. someone in the office opened it anyway)). I have had 2 neighbors and 2 other people that asked, because they needed either termite or rodent control about the company I was using. I looked at them and told them everything I am going through after being a very long time client. They got the message loud and clear. In my opinion the company needs to create a new plan where they actually communicate with each other, they need to follow through on appointments and promises and they need to respect the new people and the clients that stayed with them. Possibly staff meetings, training, or taking a look at the personnel problems . They really need to do something, because this scheduling and no one showing up or not knowing to show up is a nightmare. In my opinion, they have some major problems to fix . I had termite work done on my house in March 2021. I was replacing some plaster with drywall around some old windows and I found termite droppings. I called Ecola and asked them if they could please send someone out ASAP because I need it treated before we put up the dry wall tomorrow. I spoke to Jim and even though they were fully booked today, he was very understanding of my situation and immediately sent someone to my home. He sent a fellow named Mark who treated the area and more. Mark did a great job! I am very pleased with the service and will continue to use Ecola as my regular termite service provider! read more

We have been using Ecola for years. Our favorite technician is Joe. He knows our property (as he has been inspecting our property for close to 20 years) and is always great about helping fix the termite issue when problems arise. It's a great way to treat your property without tenting and since it's a yearly contract they will come throughout the year to treat your property. read more

Very unhappy at this point...went under $2200 contract with Ecola for termite treatments out of their ORCUTT office, Scott is the Office Manager. But every time I called the termite man had an excuse why he couldn't bring his ladders in for my very high ceilings. I had cleaned up the termite mess rather than leave for a week until he came...actually the only time he did anything was when his boss was with him. Now my termites are worse. I called them for mice intervention(live in the country) as I do have an openings in basement that needed to closed. $$$350 closed openings and spaces mice may get inside . That night I had almost 20 mice running around my house. Freaked, they came out and charged me another $240 to trap the mice..then another $240 and then $125 ....The service man that took care of the mice & closed openings Edgar tries to do his job well, but no one ever told me If I closed openings I would have 20 or more mice running around house inside. Then poor Edgar is the only one working on Mice so his schedule is busy and you have to have trap boxes checked as dead mice smell awaful...he tries, but there is only one of him. So my last comment, good luck trying to reach Office Manage, Scott ! Now as at least a $3000 client I called to try to talk with him about these issues. He just blows you off and is always busy when you call and never calls back. My termites are worse, and hopefully, Kevin, the other termite man will help. The inspector/ sales person Santos is great but the office lady Jennifer is awful! She denied the agreement that Santos sent to me. This way she made her sales person looks bad and It's very unkind, unprofessional and rude to the customers. I will then turn to other company. I've been using Ecola services for years and my technician Pat is so knowledgeable, always on time, and cares a lot about the safety of my dog, which doesn't happen with many technicians. I started using Ecola when another one of my dogs was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and I was concerned about chemicals in the backyard. We had a very unexpected Termite issue in our reclaimed mantel after doing a full house remodel. I called ECOLA Termite services because it is isolated to the mantel and obviously we were not going to tent. Tyson came out within 1 day to evaluate our problem and he was very personable and had excellent customer service. he scheduled Kevin for a treatment this morning and after asking many questions he got to work. I was very impressed with his knowledge and plan of action. I would recommend this company as they are prompt and knowledgeable with great customer service. I rarely write reviews. I had them for many years on two of my homes. Their service was great in the early days of this company. Today, not so much. The office people are horribly rude and are not professional...they do not return calls and if you do get them on the phone they are plain rude and unhelpful. There was an accounting issue and they refused to discuss what the issue was. After the 10 years...I couldn't believe that they simply left a voice mail with a threatening message. I continued to have issues with their service and finally paid my last bill with them. I switched to another company who is much more professional with services that that go above and beyond what I got from Ecola. read more

I tried out the service for a year. 1st couple months was great. They set bait stations & traps in the active areas. So when a trap was set off they came right away. Last 6 months was terrible service. They switch technicians Roger & Giesi were fantastic but PAT was awful. They were charging me bi monthly service by this point & when Pat came to service the property it was a mickey mouse job. He was not even refilling all the bait stations. I called for activity in the attic & foul smell they never came out to service. Costumer Service was terrible. Took me 3 weeks to finally terminate the service. They were avoiding my calls. The nerve of them they were still trying to charge me for the service I was not getting. Try another pest control. Ecola was terrible. read more

Ecola technician - Gilbert came by to do an pest control inspection on Friday 10/25/19. He was thorough and courteous and gave us a quote of $290 for the initial treatment and gave us 2 options (which he wrote down in the quote he gave us) for the subsequent treatments: Quarterly - $90 per treatment Every other month - $85 per treatment He also noted that part of initial service was to patch a hole that a bird or some animal could have made in our attic. He told us he does not think it is a rodent as he did not see any rodent dropping's. I called Ecola On Monday 10/28/19 and talked to Christine to schedule the pest control treatment for Thursday 10/31/19 and was told that technician would be at my home from 8am - 12 noon. At 10 am Thursday my wife calls to make sure the technician was still coming and to let the office know we were opting for the quarterly treatment. She talked to Angie who said the quarterly option was not available and she was going to talk to Gilbert about it. Angie also told us that technician was not scheduled between 8am -12pm but we need to wait for him for the whole day. I am totaling disappointed with Ecola's customer service and not standing by the quote they gave and the service schedule they did not meet. We will probably not going to be a repeat customer not would recommend this company to my family and friends. read more

Complete waste of money! they will only call you back to book appointment but not to fix any issues. They will ignore you if there are any problems! I was told representative would be wearing a mask and booties on his feet. He was NOT. This was at the height of the pandemic. He claimed the company had run out. I gave him a mask to wear as I am immunocompromised due to chemotherapy. He took one of his heavy thick gloves that he used when mixing the chemicals off of his hand and set it on my ironing board. this person called himself Pat and claimed to be cofounder of the company when selling me the spraying services for pantry moths. He said I did not have to clean out the cupboards, but the spraying would take care of it. Two weeks later, more moths persisted and someone came by for another spray. I told them not to send Pat because he did not wear a mask. They sent someone else who said they did NOT spray for moths, but instead you need to take everything out and clean top to bottom with vinegar and dump any dry goods in pantry. I said the previous guy told me something completely different and charged me $300 for the spraying treatment. He said to call the company. I did, but they ignored my calls. I left multiple messages and they never called me back. A complete waste of money and time when I had to go through and clean cupboards myself anyway. Dont waste your money or time with this company. Terrible customer service! Sales representatives who lie about service needed. Inspectors who do NOT wear masks during pandemic when customer reps assure you they will. While cleaning up my rental house in Northridge, CA a contractor noticed termite droppings He recommended Ecola. I contacted them, and the very next day they carefully inspected my house, explaining all their findings, and gave me an estimate. It was a very reasonable price, and the next day (Saturday) they did all the work This included heat treatment of the upper crawl space, and local treatment of several areas. They were there most of the day, and had brought generators in case the power was not on. The staff were very friendly, and answered my many questions about termites. I am very relieved to have this problem solved, and will sign up for their yearly inspection. I very highly recommend this company!!! read more

on 9/21/13 had ECOLA out to treat for ants in my kitchen. Cost $195 to treat inside and outside. Location Long Beach, CA Representative was very nice. update 9/28/13: Problem is that i have seen ants in the kitchen everyday since for each of the past 7 days. No sign of the treatment getting rid of the ants. Not much value for the $195! ______________________________________ UPDATE 10/2/13: after I posted the above review an ECOLA representative contacted me immediately. They offered to come back and retreat at no cost at my convenience. They sent a VERY knowledgeable individual and he went above and beyond. Have not seen a sign of any more ants.
