W warm bread and butter is a welcome start. The waiter was very knowledgeable. The Chilean sea bass was a surprise because I did not research Hong Kong style which means the fish is steamed. There is no seasoning on the fish but the broth in the bowl is delicious and the ginger smells wonderful! Just know what HK style means before you order. The filet was outstanding. Cooked to perfection. Sides of mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts were good. The first cosmopolitan cocktail was fair. The second was gasoline. Long story short, 10/10 experience! Everything was great, from the waitstaff, to the food, to the drinks. The ambiance was upscale but not too stuffy. The moment you walk in you notice the amazing smell. If there is one thing I recommend it is the Steak Tartare, I don't even have words to describe how good this dish was. The meat was so rich then you put it on top of a warm buttered crostini. Perfection! The crab fried rice was our second favorite. It was absolutely delicious. We also had some oysters, the special halibut, and the Parmesan sole. All really good and no complaints. We went for my birthday and they brought us their most popular dessert the bananas foster, it was so a nice cherry on top of a great meal/experience! We have been anticipating the opening of Eddie V's for months since the date kept getting pushed back. Our reservation was lost but they were still able to accommodate us in a booth on a Sunday night. The service was slow as expected so it took almost two hours from beginning to end. Let's get down to the good stuff. The softened butter with chives and Himalayan salt accompanied the warm bread well. For appetizers, the raw oysters were tiny but the lobster bisque was exquisite. They split the bone-in New York strip in the back. It was perfectly cooked but the strangest thing is that my piece was seasoned just right but my husband's piece was quite salty. As for the sides, the crab fried rice is incredible as always, truffle mac and cheese was decent, Korean BBQ Brussel sprouts were not to my liking, and the âu gratin potatoes were so salty that I could not force myself to eat more than one bite. The key lime pie was a wonderful palate cleanser as it was the right amount of tart and sweet with luscious berries. I would wait until after the holidays to visit Eddie V's in Plano again in hopes that they work out their kinks. It is one of my favorite steak houses so I have high hopes that it will only get better from here. Please bring back the veal chop! read more

This is my first time coming to Eddie V's in Plano. I've been to the one in Fort Worth before and enjoyed a delicious steak and side of corn so I was excited to dine at an Eddie's again. I decided to go for the same cut of steak I got in Fort Worth, which was the 18 ounce bone in New York steak but this time I opted for the smoked chili rub. Unfortunately, they had just changed their menu and didn't have the delicious corn I was looking for, but they did have broccolini. The broccolini was simply delicious and I would happily order it again. My husband was also pleased with his meal. He ordered the 18 ounce New York steak with lobster cheddar mashed potatoes, and the truffle mac & cheese. We both ordered our steaks medium and found that mine was probably in between medium rare and medium whereas his was more in between medium and medium well. I'm glad I was able to try the smoked chili rub but next time I probably just get the steak normal. We finished off with crème brûlée, it was delicious and there was enough to share. It also came with two chocolate cookies, which I really enjoyed paired with the crème brûlée. Our server was friendly, but the person who was in charge of filling waters never came and refilled our water. This is my first time coming to the Plano location. I have been to Eddie V's in Dallas. The service was by far the best Jared and Pepe made my time the best. The hostess to the servers were top notch these folks make or break your experience as well as the taste of food. Stopped in with a friend on a Friday evening to experience Happy Hour only to realize Happy Hour is Sunday - Thursday only. We were able to find two seats at the bar. Pro Note: there are tables in the bar although they require a reservation. The bar staff were very attentive with menus and their service. We decided to share Maine lobster tacos and crab fried rice with mushrooms and scallions, and each ordered a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious! The lobster tacos were fresh; the crab fried rice had big hunks of lump crab in it. We also had drinks and wine from the menu. As the evening went on there was live music which was unexpected yet very nice! Also the bar became quite the busy place. I'll definitely return for Happy Hour and dinner in the future. Eddie V's is a great place to go if you're looking for more of an elevated dining experience in which you can really sit back and relax in a nice atmosphere and enjoy the company you're with while being well taken care of. read more

Started off with the crab cake. Nicely done, not a lot of breading and great taste. Ordered a bottle of wine. No somm was recommended, so made a good guess. I get that most restaurants upcharge wine by an average of 100%, but felt it was higher here. For our main, we ordered the halibut special and the sea bass. Sea bass was super moist and very flavorful. Halibut special was very tasty, but dry. We were offered a three flavored dessert on house, complete with torched Happy Birthday. This place was super busy. We were seated at a great corner booth in the bar. It was loud with the singer, but she was really good. Our waitress, Nina, was hustling and you could tell this wasn't her first rodeo. She was super efficient. The wine list is very good and we settled with a Portuguese wine. We tried several appetizers and the calamari was our favorite. I wish the crab cakes had a little more sauce with a bite to it. The steak tartare and lobster tacos also were bland. But the calamari had loads of flavor. We enjoyed the sea bass, as it's cooked beautifully. Add this and the crab fried rice together. The flavors mixed are very good and compliment each other with the sauce from the bass dish. I would order the calamari and sea bass with fried rice together if I was to go back. We ordered the filet mignon medium paired with scallops, the sea bass dish, with truffle Mac and crab fried rice. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection. The bass was melt in your mouth good. I was super excited that Plano has its very own Eddie V's *. Hubby and I were here on Saturday (01/28/2023) for date night. We headed straight to the bar since we did not make reservations. I absolutely love the ambiance and the live jazz band. Mahogany, her son, Cedrick, and another person performed that night. Our bartender's name was Jamie. She was cool. Our evening was perfect. We ordered the tableside steak tartare - amazing! The 8 oz. filet was prepared perfectly. The lobster bisque, though presentation was fab, the bisque was not "thick enough," Hubby said. I thought it did not have enough lobster meat in it. There was only one lobster claw in it. I know bisques aren't supposed to be chunky, but when it comes to lobster meat, there is room to make an exception. I had the Chilean sea bass and it was phenomenal. Super thick, buttery, just PERFECT. Since there weren't any grill marks, I'm not sure how it was prepared. We also ordered the sautéed spinach with garlic and parmesan. That was also tasty. Wow! When we were seated ~15 minutes late I was already making up my mind and internally writing a review ... I'm glad we decided to stay because this was a really great experience! We were seated and our service, Thomas almost immediately came and grabbed our drink orders. Throughout the night he came over the perfect amount of times to where it wasn't annoying and at the same time it was enough visits so we knew he didn't forget about us. The guys ordered smoky red fashioneds and I had the red dragon alcoholic drink. They loved their drinks but said that other restaurants' smoky old fashioned have a better taste. I wasn't crazy about my drink, it didn't taste like it had much alcohol in it so I would not order that drink again. We ordered some appetizers and they came out fairly quick. The two appetizers were the Maine lobster tacos and jumbo lump crab cake. Both were delicious and if I went back I would get those two appetizers. My husband loved the lobster tacos so much he made a mental note to replicate them at home in the near future. My friend and I both ordered a "second course". He had a Maine lobster bisque and I had a classic Caesar. The presentation of the Maine lobster bisque is pretty funny (either that or we aren't fancy) because it was covered and underneath the lid there was a tiny piece of lobster on a piece of toast... we thought that was the Maine lobster bisque until Thomas poured the cream over the piece of lobster and toast . We then ordered our meals. I had the parmesan sole, and my husband had the red snapper (because lent). My friend had an ahi tuna and my birthday boy friend had a filet. The parmesan sole was SO delicious and it was a huge piece of fish. I think I had so much (other) food that I was too full to eat it . My husbands red snapper portion was fairly small and I didn't try it because I was so unbelievably full but he said it was delicious. My friend that ordered the ahi tuna really liked his steak... I tried it and wasn't a fan but it was my first time trying ahi tuna steak. The skin had some spicy sauce and that was pretty much what gave it flavor. The birthday boy had a filet and he seemed to love it. We didn't try it but he said this was his second time having a filet there so I will def come back just to try it because I have had zero luck finding a good filet. As if the food wasn't enough, we had sides. -One of my (few complaints) is the mac and cheese. It had a good taste but it felt like it maybe sat for too long or something because by the time it got to us, it was dry. I think this is a common problem with any pasta. Sometimes it takes too long from the process of getting plated to getting to the table. I have no idea how the spinach tasted but it was the one side we had almost the entire amount left over afterwards. The au gratin potatoes were my favorite. I had two bites but they were two bites of heaven. For some reason we thought it would be a good idea to get a few deserts, it was my friends birthday after all! Our waiter brought us 4 champagne filled glasses which honestly was a really nice touch and a great accompaniment to our deserts :-) My birthday boy friend had a hot chocolate Godiva cake. It was very decadent. For a nice restaurant this desert was surprisingly good. I feel like nice restaurants typically deliver on food but fall short on dessert and this one delivered on both! My friend had the bananas foster butter cake. He didn't like it because he said it tasted too chemically and he gave it to my husband who ate it because he doesn't believe in wasting food, lol. He also said it tasted chemically but wasn't sure what had caused that taste. I had the classic creme brûlée. It was delicious and 10/10 I would have it here again. Was expecting so much. Bad experience. Anniversary night last Saturday. Arrive at 8 for an 815 reservation. Are told we can wait at bar and server will get us. About 835 bartender asks us when was our reservation. We tell her 815 and she jumps to attention and contacts a manager. Bartender come back saying people are eating slowly. Buys us a round of drinks. Nice, but we didn't want more drinks. 850 and we are seated, 5 feet behind where we were sitting. 30 minutes later they had left bread, but not taken our orders, 1 hour and 5 from our reservation time. Having taken care of our bar tab, we simply left. No one was at the front desk at time. No manager paid enough attention, or care enough to do anything.
