Just left Eddy's and it's 7 PM . I wanted to order a slice of pizza for my daughter, plus a lemonade. I was told that there were only two slices of pizza left from lunch (!!! Huh?) and that those two slices were already spoken for. So as I was paying for the lemonade, I saw two slices of pizza being prepared - I guess for the other people. I did tell the man who served us that I think he could have accommodated us regarding the pizza, especially since there is nothing on the menu stating that there is a policy limitation about pizza slices. My daughter, who has autism, was anticipating pizza, and did not want another menu selection. So we paid for the beverage, and are going somewhere else. Unbelievably poor customer service! I have been to Eddy's a couple times now and it is a good choice should you just want to satisfy your cheese cravings and meat ball withdrawal syndrome. Other than that you just have to try their stuffed jalapeños which I would say is on par with the fried mushrooms. read more

I really wanted to like this place more. It's close and it's not a chain. But, at the end of the day, "OK" is just "OK". My friends and I have passed this place dozens of times, saying to ourselves, "huh, we should try that place out." Well, tonight, the stars aligned. We wanted pizza and we did not have time to go to Russo's. First impression was daunting. When I walked in, the cook looked as though I had deflowered his daughter, but after a bit he smiled and greeted us. We were shown to a table off to the back right of the restaurant, which seemed nice because it was an empty section near their faux fireplace. The service was disjointed. Server #1 asks what we want to drink. I waffled, the other two people ordered drinks. She walked away and never came back. I get up to get someone after a bit. Server #2, who remains our server for the night, sees me and stops at the table. We get the drink order sorted and get some drinks on the table. Then he disappears again. After a while, I get up to go looking again and I discover the problem. The server hangout, near the register, is an alcove on the other side of a wall separating us and the servers keep snapping back to the alcove, so they can't see us (maybe there were invisible, cosmic rubber bands). Side note: Ambiance was a bit lacking where we sat. Loud sounds of water and washing came from a kitchen door less than six feet away. On top of that, the soda and ice machine was about six feet in the other direction. It felt like we had snuck into the kitchen and were eating for free in our family's restaurant...except that we weren't... :P So, back to the waiting...I get our server to come to the table and take our order. After a while, we get our pizzas (one double pepperoni, one supreme). They are decent, but they seem to lack some of the taste and texture I have come to expect from eating Russo's pizzas. Some of the supreme toppings seemed a little more raw than we would expect. The double pepperoni didn't seem very double, either. Overall, the flavor just did not meet expectations. It was OK. Not great. Not bad. A true pizza aficionado might be less forgiving. Once we had drinks, the refills were slow. Not horribly slow, but noticeably slow. They are not competing on the level of Russo's or Fireside Pies. We fill up fast. Notable quote of the night - "If we had gone to Russo's, I would have had another slice." After a while, I have to get up and ask a waiter to bring us boxes and our check. If you aren't too picky or you are close and don't have time to drive far, this place is probably fine. However, if you take your pizza very seriously, you should probably make the drive to one of the many places that can give you what you want. Pro tip: If you do go, make sure you pick a seat that is visible from the register, so you have some insurance of more responsive service. read more

So Jeff and I went back to give Eddy's one last shot. The pizza is good. The service blows. I WAS a fan of the chicken cacciatore but not any more. When my pasta came out I took one bite and said this doesn't taste right. I swear they put an entire head of garlic in my bowl. I asked the waiter if they changed the recipe and he went to ask the chef. When the waiter came back he told me the chef acknowledged that he put too much garlic in the dish and offered to make a new dish. My question is, if you knowingly made the dish wrong, why did you send it out? Answer: because you thought you could get away with it. That is not how I expect to be treated. They did make me a new dish but it still didn't taste right, it was better but not as good as it used to be. So after that experience I am not interested in going back again. read more

The service is friendly and attentive, the ambiance is casual and cozy, and the food? Well, that's the 5 Star for sure. Our office frequent's Eddy's multiple times a month because the food is tasty, very affordable, and the portions are plentiful. Really good and inexpensive! The wife and I had the large white pizza which had garlic, ricotta, mozzarella, feta, and parm (not that crappy alfredo pizza garbage). We added ham, black olives, mushrooms, and spinach. It's BYOB which is GREAT! The garlic bread you get for free is just average, but hell, it's free. The inside looks very rustic. I can't believe this used to be a Country Burger! I also really like the open kitchen. It's not a high end pizza, but it's much better than any of the chains. The crust is thin and everything tasted fresh. Eddy's is a solid neighborhood joint. It always looks like a good number of cars there when I drive by on my way home from work. Our server was very good. He was a NY native and just talked to us like we were fellow guidos, without being rude. I can't give it 4 stars because it isn't a high end pizza joint. Personally, I think Eddy's has the best NY style pizza in the metroplex. I am a firm believer that when trying a new pizza joint you need to start with the plain cheese, because if you mess up a cheese pizza then the rest of your food is probably going to suck. Well, I was blown away. I frequent many "mom and pop" type shops to try their pizza, and it looks like I will be traveling to Plano more often because it was that good. I ordered from here through (slice delivery) and however I do not recommend doing that due to slice delivery fault... I very much recommend this restaurant. Even though the stress of the delivery service and the fact that I had to pick up my order because of that third-party that has nothing to do with the actual restaurant the guy that I spoke to at the restaurant on the phone and in person Luigi was very professional and very understanding of the situation and made sure that my food was hot and fresh by the time I got there to pick it up for myself. They've completely remodeled the former Country Burger restaurant. They have an extensive menu and all at reasonable prices. The pizza is the best I've had in Texas. It's reminiscent of New York style pizza and in some ways, it's even better. You can get a cheese pizza at Eddy's and the taste and quality will stand on it's own. You really don't need to add any other toppings, it's that good. The staff is friendly and attentive, service is pleasant and quick. It's a really nice restaurant with excellent food. And if you're in a hurry, pick up a large cheese pizza for under $10. You can't beat the quality and the price. read more

On the plus side: the place was clean and the place was cute. My salad was fresh, cold and large. In the negative side: 1. I don't eat wheat, so I asked if they could substitute the pasta that comes with the meal for a small salad. The waitress said no. Just no, they couldn't. she offered to just leave the pasta off. Meaning I would have to pay $10 for chicken alone, with nothing else. So I ordered antipasto salad. 2. There was a long hair under the meat and cheese layer of my salad. Because it was under other food, I knew it wasn't mine. Plus I'm not a bleached blonde. 3. Giving our party of 4 separate checks with a total amount due, was beyond the waitresses' capability. We paid at the register, telling the guy what we had. 4. It was Tuesday lunch, there was never more than 5 tables, all "2 tops",in the two hours we were there, I never got a refill on my iced tea, only one of us got a refill in that time period. 5. One of my friends ordered a meat lovers pizza and got supreme. So, while the place was clean and the food seemed fresh and tasty, I won't be going back. This is going to be a hard one for me. When visiting Dallas we always like to try different places. So our daughter heard about Eddy's. Looked it up and got good reviews. The open kitchen is up front when you come into the restaurant. One of the cooks was taking out a pizza. The whole pizza's center fell out and the cheese just seemed to float off the crust. This didn't deter us. We ordered the large pizza with some extra toppings. Sure enough when our pizza arrived it was laden with cheese which made the crust soggy and could hardly put the pizza slice on our plates. By the time we finished eating the pizza our arteries must have been so clogged by the amount of the cheese that we ingested. Get the pink sauce (alfredo + marinara. seriously). It's BYOB, they don't charge a glass/cork fee (that I'm aware of), and they're next to an Albertson's, so if you run out, you can always pop over and get more :-) Good garlic knots, too. I usually order the Eddy's salad, which is kind of a big Italian chop type thing, but not chopped (roasted peppers, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, cheese, olives, etc). Six bucks. Can't beat it. One of my favorite pizza places in pizza. It has become a weekly staple on our family menu. The crust is perfect and thin. The sauce is full of flavor. We've tried things besides pizza, like the pasta the ziti is fabulous and the lemon pasta is just as good. There is nothing in this menu that isn't good. It's close to my parents house & has become our go-to for pizza, we have a Pizza Hut within walking distance but will drive to Eddie's 10 out of 10 times because of the impeccable quality of the food!
