Our dinner was a great experience. The service was impeccable throughout. The food was delicious. There was an issue with the temperature of my steak being slightly overdone, but at the prices charged, I had no problem bringing it to the server's attention. He quickly had a replacement made for me, during which the restaurant manager came over to apologize. Small mistakes like that occur at all restaurants. We went to the Edge steakhouse here at the westgate hotel last night. By the time we were done-we were stuffed full- expensive it was but, my wife and I were treated like a king and queen. I forgot to tell the waiter to get me a vegetable- he asked if I wanted a starter which I said no. My wife called the asst waiter over and asked if he could get our waiter to come take a veggie order from me. The waiter came back and asked what I wanted and I had an order of asparagus. He said- very good sir- anything else you want- just tell us and we will make it happen- no matter what it is- if you want it, we will get it. When our food came, the portions are huge- My wife and I had steaks, baked potatoes with veggies- my wife ordered baby Brussel sprouts- we could have ordered one veg and split it and would have been fine- in fact we could have ordered one meal and split the whole thing and been happy. We split a crème brûlée which was delicious for dessert- way too much for one person. They brought it to the table flaming as it perfectly crusted the top sugar - a very cool presentation. Very high end place. The only complaint is my wife's steak was a little too well done- I told her for what we paid, she need to tell the waiter and they would have made her a new steak- she didn't want the rest of her meal to get cold- I think they would have brought a new whatever if it was cold. Overall all- an experience we have never really had and enjoyed it very much - our assistant waiter was attending to our every need. Super helpful and friendly. I go to Las Vegas a few times a year for business. I never miss a chance to go to the Edge Steakhouse in the Westgate Resort. Not only is the food phenomenal but if you sit at the bar you get real deal in Mikey the bartender. He takes his craft seriously and his customer service is off the charts. I am here twice a year the night before our show set up starts and he remembers me and what I drink. No CRM just good old fashioned service. I had the shrimp cocktail and the presentation was phenomenal down to the dry ice cloud that flowed down the sides. For dinner it was salmon on a bed of baby veggies. In a city full of steakhouses, the Edge Steakhouse is truly unique. Located in the Westgate Resort, the restaurant's decor features crystal chandeliers, marble columns and contemporary artwork. The Westgate, formerly the Las Vegas Hilton, was where Elvis and Liberace performed. We begin our evening with some huge martinis with blue cheese-stuffed olives. For starters, we try the Spicy Shrimp, packing heat with sweet and spicy Thai chili reduction, the Wagyu Beef Tartare, made scrumptious with caviar and truffle aioli and the Spanish Octopus Carpaccio, which was a totally new way to enjoy this delicacy. For our entrees, we split the Prime Bone-In Ribeye, which was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately it lacked ample marbeling, which is why it wasn't as tender as expected. If the Dry Aged Ribeye has been available, it would have been much better. For sides, we followed the manager's recommendations of the Smashed Fingerling Potatoes, which were accompanied by a selection of dipping sauces. The Roasted Mushrooms lived up to expectations, with the aged sherry vinegar making this a standout. The Tahitian Vanilla Crème Brulee was the perfect closer. Loved how it arrived flaming, then we watched the brown sugar caramelized before our eyes. Something I really appreciate is a restaurant with spacious booths, especially when four are dining and you have lots of plates. Our server and his assistant provided highly polished service. First time dining here and won't be the last. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. It was six courses starting with an assortment of appetizers which were all outstanding. Lobster bisque came next which was also outstanding. There was a sea bass that came out prior to the main show which was a dry aged bone in rib-eye AND a waygu strip loin. My family and I (party of four) visited this place for the first time last night, not knowing what to expect we figured we give it a try. We arrived at 5:30pm to make a dinner reservation and the first thing the hostess said to us was that they have a table available RIGHT NOW or we would not be seated tonight (they were apparently booked up even though there were plenty of other tables not occupied for the two hours we were there). Didn't initially take her greeting as rude but I think that she could've greeted us more by saying something simple like...Hi, how are you guys doing tonight? Have you dined with us before? Service: The two waiters that served us were accommodating for the most part and gave us some recommendations. But, there were a few instances where we felt rushed to order and were out of water and had to call someone over to refill us. Food/Drink: We all ordered steaks along with different sides and dessert at the end. Food/dessert tasted and was prepared good, but thought it was a little on the pricier side given the fact that the atmosphere was nothing to rave about. Drinks were average, not good but not bad either, a little on the stronger side. I would've given this review a higher rating if the manager (older guy with a glasses, grey beard and colorful jacket vest on) didn't kick us out at the end. We were there in total about 2 hours and spent over $600, which nowadays is not exactly a "cheap dinner" we stayed behind after paying the bill not more than 5-10 minutes when the manager comes over and literally tells us that "the next party has arrived for their reservation and that we need to leave now". Huh, you would think after spending that much on dinner they would appreciate their customers more, guess not. Not to mention, there were still other open tables but for some reason we needed to leave that second. The ambiance is fantastic for special occasions or business professional. The feel is professional but not stuffy. Silverware is presented per course. The serving staff is always nearby and their glass pour wine list might be the best glass pour list around. If anyone enjoys high end wines or champagne by the glass, you have to come to Edge! Even though I prefer a heavy cocktail, the drinks are perfectly crafted and balanced. I ordered a wedge salad with Salmon due to not eating meat on the evening I dined and the salmon was cooked to perfection. One of the best salmon dishes to date! All entrees cooked to temperature and the manager Sergio stopped by leading great conversation and made sure we were enjoying our experience. My friend and I are doing a Vegas weekend. We chose Edge because we were seeing Barry Manilow afterwards ( highly recommend!). We ordered the prix fixe dinner:filets and side dishes, and dessert. It was good news/ bad news. Service was fabulous, fast and attentive. Drinks were lovely. But both of our steaks were badly over cooked. As we had the show to attend, we opted not to have them refired and just ate bites. However, the side dishes were to die for! Sweet potato gnocchi were so tender and sweet, and the potato gratin was perfectly cooked. The lobster tails were the best I've ever had! And dessert was so far over the top, no way to eat more than a few bites, but really lovely. They brought our check, and the manager had very graciously comped our meals, leaving us to pay only for drinks (4 drinks were $85).That was so above and beyond. I would definitely return just for the sides and the service, and I'm sure those steaks with roasted garlic would have been incredible cooked properly. read more
