The food was all fresh and my friend and I enjoyed the outdoor pod seating in February which is heated with floor heaters. The atmosphere and seating is accommodating for both larger parties and for a smaller group. So I really dint know anything about this place except that in the past it was a pizza place and that the owners had changed the menu and renamed themselves. I dont know if this is true but regardless, I was looking for a place to eat on a Sunday and found this place and the pictures of food told me it was worth a try. Short and sweet, we were seated immediately after the table was sterilized and the waitress was very helpful. People that follow me would know i often stick to some staples but the menu here gave me at least four choices. Ugh the frustration. The waitress was of no help saying my final two were her favorites. I went with the eggs beni with meat. It did take a while but was beautiful when it arrived. My only advice would be to use some spices! You're menu screamed flavor to me but the dishes lacked the POW I was expecting. With your menu choices and drinks I would suggest Cajon spices. The meal also came with what looked like a small baked potato that had been ripped apart and I believe fried. The piece weren't cut, they were pulled apart which meant they were very different in size and not all cooked the same. They also had zero spice on them but still pretty good. Overall the waitress was excellent and ensured my glass was full. The food was very good and I will be returning (more often if spices are added). Outdoor seating is great. We stopped here for lunch on the way back from Yellowstone. The waitress was initially ok. Got us drinks right away but after that seemed very distracted! It was annoying to wait for everything. I thought I'd try the huckleberry lemonade. You call that lemonade?!? It is sugar water. Worst lemonade I've ever had my friend and I had to return it. Other than the distracted server ash's the lemonade the food was ok. I had a beet salad and a white wine. We shared some Mac and cheese and the table has some corn dogs that they liked. The music wasn't great either. It was like we were in a mini club for millennials, lol. It was a nice setting though next to a park, on a beautiful afternoon, so we couldn't complain too much. read more

This place really blew my expectations out of the water. They have a really fun environment. The inside is nice with cute art pieces and they have nice outdoor patio seating with umbrellas as well. We had a nice server who was able to give good recommendations and added to our great experience. It would be a fun place for brunch, date night, or to start a night out with friends (if you don't mind the Uber to downtown Boise ). They have an extensive drink and food menu with options for everyone. The truffled cheesy tots were one of my favorite things I've tried in a while. They're basically deep fried cheesy truffle hashbrowns and they were gone in about 2 seconds at my table. We also ordered the peanut lime chicken salad which was great, the fish and chips which we loved also, and the steak salad which was the table favorite. Was so looking forward to coming here on Father's Day. Not that this is the restaurants fault but as we walked in through the patio a dog that was there tried biting our 2 year old daughter. It was pretty terrifying. Nothing was done about it. Our server was super friendly, attentive, and did very well with our daughter too. She was great. My husband ordered 2 different cocktails and could barely drink them both. The first one said it was served on a rock but then came with crushed ice which was too bad. The 2nd one tasted like soap. Unfortunately while their cocktail menu sounded delicious the drinks were a disappointment. My daughter loved her kids meal of a grilled cheese, milk, apple sauce, and fries. It was a VERY generous serving. My friend chicken and waffle was huge. The waffle was very good and the chicken didn't seem too greasy but it was just SO big. My husband had a chicken sandwich and liked his too. We ordered the corn dog bites as an appetizer and we all liked those. Overall, we were pretty indifferent about the place. It wasn't as good as we had hoped and we both agreed we probably wouldn't come back. When we go out we want somewhere with good cocktails or at least a good beer list and this didn't have either. read more

We just had a fabulous experience at Eight Thirty Common! When we arrived the restaurant was packed and we did not have a reservation. We had our 2 toddler grandchildren in tow (3&4 years old). After being advised the wait was an hour- they made room for us in just a few minutes, which was such a blessing as the kiddos were hungry and excited to eat at the restaurant. Overall, the experience of our party of four was excellent but being seated at a table close to the hostess station with waiting patrons watching us dine brings it down to 4 stars. Noise levels are moderate as the dining room has the high, industrial type ceilings that are popular with restaurants today. The food was very good with generous portions and the service was excellent. Our menu choices included fried chicken, beef stroganoff and two types of burgers with fries. Everything tasted delicious although the brine soaked fried chicken tasted a bit salty but I guess that is to be expected. We dined early on a Friday evening and it was a busy place with many people waiting for a table so reservations are highly recommended. They are on Door Dash, so if you want to be safe, use it! COVID ops- I can't remember whether or not customers are required to wear masks, but you do have access to hand sanitizer, and they're making excellent use of their outdoor area, as there isn't a lot of square footage to allow for a ton of well-spaced seating. They appear to take our and their safety and health seriously. For the record, when there isn't a pandemic, the floor-plan is cool, with kind of a garage door that opens to the outside, weather permitting, and they have a cool little bar area, which is too cramped to keep open right now. Full bar, limited beer on tap, but I've never had a time where they didn't have something good. Their burgers are juicy and tasty as can be but... but... TOAST. THE. BUN. It limits the sog factor :-P I recently good hooked on their BBQ chicken salad, which uses delicious fried chicken. No really, I saw someone else get it, and you know how sometimes dishes will look so good you just kinda know it's gonna taste awesome? That's what happened with me and that salad. I can also speak for them having the best tomato soup I've ever had. I mean... just look at it! LOOK! And it tastes better! Waitress was rude, wasn't much help about the options on the menu so we just ended up getting apps and waited about 30-40 mins for apps, in which time there was another couple seated beside us who got their food before us. The people beside us were continuously checked in with by the same waitress we had, but she didn't check in with us at all. Definitely felt discriminated against. And she was working the bar after and dropped a whole bottle of alcohol and along with that dropped some chinaware. I can't rate the quality of food because we never got to try it. We were faintly greeting by the host. He didn't show any personality or kindness to us, a guest. When he sat us at our table he dropped off the menus and walked away. No comment, no greeting, nothing. Just walked away. We sat to review the menu for about 15 minutes. No one ever came to our table. We noticed another table was sat after we had been there and the same guy who took us to our table asked them what they wanted and he returned with some waters to start. HOWEVER, the salad section of the menu did not indicate what the chicken was marinated in - something that triggers a severe migraine for me - buttermilk. First of all, that should be revealed on the menu for people who are lactose intolerant. For me, cultured milk is poison. This is what I ordered, and it does not contain the word "buttermilk": BBQ CHICKEN SALAD ETC crispy fried chicken /avocado / fresh corn off the cob / Campari tomatoes / black beans / chipotle ranch / chipotle bbq drizzle Wasn't until the next day when I read through the entire menu that I saw "4-hour buttermilk brined" in the description for Chicken Fried Chicken. When I got my menu, I went straight to the salad choices, which I would NOT have ordered if the description included the chicken was marinated in buttermilk. $16 for a debilitating migraine. Sucks. If I eat here again, it'll be a burger. But I will talk to the manager and recommend that the next time they change their menu they are quite clear in the salad section that the chicken has been marinated in buttermilk. read more
