Amazing food and great beers on tap. A busy, happening scene but excellent service. We were there on a rainy Wednesday evening in April but it looked like they also had great outdoor seating too. Gastropub is a term I'm not familiar with, so I can't say how this restaurant tanks in category. Their menu is loaded with food I ate as a kid but reimagined for adults. I had beef stroganoff, and my wife ate grown up grilled cheese and tomato soup. The food was hot, full of flavor, and served in a cool "pub" type atmosphere. Our server was excellent. It was a quiet dinner for two in the late afternoon on a Monday. read more

Ambiance good. Service terrible. My husband and I ordered burgers. It took over an hour to get our food. Seriously. Its a burger. I did change my review from one star to three stars because the food, when we finally got it, was good. Also, the manager spoke with us and apologized, but not until over one hour had already passed. Went in at 4pm only a few tables occupied, 6 of us sat outside. Service was terrible took forever to get a drink then the drinks were wrong. Food was cold upon delivery, empty dishes sat on our table until I bussed them to the empty table behind us, then I had to go find our waitress to get our bill and she was in the kitchen talking with the 2 other waitresses. Unbelievable gourmet brunch!! Best I've had in the Treasure Valley in over 15 years. I had the 830 Huevos Rancheros and my wife had the Bacon Avocado Benny. Both were over the top amazing! It was an hour wait to get in on a Sunday at 11:30 am but well worth the wait. read more

We went the Eight Thirty Common after following them on IG for a couple weeks. I ordered the chicken and waffle (my go to on ANY menu) and he had the prime rib dip. We ordered the wagyu corn dogs as an app. I don't eat hot dogs and ordered the wagyu corn dogs bcuz I thought they were more like finger steaks but turns out it's a hot dog inside.. lol.. I tasted them but left them for my husband. The waitress said it's a spicy mustard served with them- it's actually a sweet mustard and really good. My honey latte was amazing, really liked it. The spinach/bacon waffle was super crispy and light, definitely savory and so good. The brined fried chicken was good too even tho the meat slid right out of the breading I ate it separately. The syrup was kind of... bland? It wasn't sweet.. or spicy.. just kind of.. ok. Would have preferred a sweet and/or spicy syrup as a compliment to the meal. My husband took two bites of his sandwich, bread was soft but the reason for the 4 stars- all our food was served cold. Even the fried chicken was room temp and it really brought down the experience. The ginger vinaigrette wasn't to our taste. Waitress was nice and very attentive. We'll try them again another time. read more

Music is loud at lunch time so it makes conversation difficult. Suggest they don't try to create "party atmosphere" until late afternoon. Many of us are there for business and conversation in midday. Love the food and will be back! read more

Super disappointed. We had heard really good things about this restaurant from our friends and decided to give it a try tonight. We walked in (holding our one year old) and got placed on a short waitlist, totally to be expected. Got a text our table was ready and when we got in the hostess tried to seat us in the bar at a high top table, again with our one year old. We got put at a table and asked for a high chair, the one we were brought was broken. The manager (I'm assuming, he didn't introduce himself) came up to the table and said we could tie our son into a different broken high chair but they have no functional ones at the moment. We ended up just walking out, the point of coming to eat here was to have a nice time, not to try and balance eating and containing a one year old at a table in the middle on the entrance walkway. This issue can literally be fixed with a quick stop to any restaurant supply store in town. read more

Yes this might be a late review but I finally got around to it. After we were sat down we waited for an extremely long time for somebody even to come up to our table and greet us. It everything that I said is 100% accurate. I'm not trying to put you down. But it is what it is. I understand you have a rotating menu but I understand when our experience happened it was when you had beef stroganoff on the menu. One of my new favorite brunch spots! LOVE that they offer bottomless mimosas and they have a wonderful selection of fun coffees. I highly recommended trying the iced salted honey latte. I've had their amazing toast variety as well as an egg white scramble. My friend has their lemon blueberry pancakes that were so tasty and it was more than enough to share. There is a little something for everyone on this brunch menu. Depending on your breakfast favorites, their fresh house made biscuits are incredible! Especially when paired with their jam. I am looking forward to my next brunch adventure there. Also, I do recommend making a reservation. They are incredibly easy to do and can be completed online or on Yelp! They are working very hard to ensure safety for diners as well as staff members. A reservation just helps across all boards. read more

I absolutely adore this place. My friends and I chose it as a 'special treat' location for a birthday dinner and were blown away! The service is friendly and intimate, it felt like the server was working with our table only, even though I knew they had other tables. I hadn't really done 'gastropub' before but they have set the standard for me; excellent reimagined classics with just enough pub to be hearty but just enough presentation to be classy! The atmosphere does have a slight 'up-class' feel but it doesn't come across as pretentious, and I don't feel out of place showing up in something more casual and I would wager they'd prefer a graphic tee to a three-piece (haha!) They also ruined mules for me: the mule I had there was so delicious that no other place has compared. I highly recommend this spot for a quick hangout without breaking the bank. It's not the cheapest spot but you definitely get what you pay for and it's worth every penny. read more

Service issues: Unfortunately, I experienced really bad service. Looked like there was one server for the entire restaurant. I noticed this after waiting to place our drink/food order for 20 minutes. It was Wednesday lunch rush so every table and most bar seats were full. Server didn't let me finish ordering before she walked away. No communication that the food will be right out or she'll get the order in for us. Because of this, she brought me a virgin when I ordered an alcoholic beverage. What happened was, after she abruptly walked away, I realized I had given her my cc instead of my ID when she carded me. I asked the bartender if there was any tequila in my drink and she said "no it's a virgin, I need to see your ID first. You handed your server your debit card." I asked the bartender why she didn't just say that because I didn't realize I gave her the wrong card before she walked away without saying a word. Showed her my id and Bartender was rude. The server brought the correct drink and apologized but just an annoying inconvenience that simple communication could have prevented. Food: I ordered the double American cheeseburger. The two patties were unidentifiable. The first patty was completely lopsided (way more meet on one side and smooshed on the other) and the second patty was in several (maybe 6) pieces between the bun. YUM! First time here with my husband last night. There was a bit of a wait when we got there at 7PM but we just headed over to the Roosevelt to grab a drink and wait until the hostess texted us when our table was ready! We loved the atmosphere, busy but cozy and the service was great! We were seated at the bar - which is what we prefer. We started with the brussel sprouts - YUM and HUGE portion! I had the uncommon burger and my husband had the cowboy burger. The burgers were cooked to our requested temp and the fries were delicious! The truffle cheese tot they added on top was a fun surprise. So yummy, we will need to get those as an appetizer next time! All of their food and cocktails looked amazing, I cannot wait to go back. My bf and me went here last night. I would have to say we went a slow night. First let's start off with VERY COVID FRIENDLY 10/10! The wait though for someone to take a drink order was a little while before someone came to the table to even take them. The food I would have to give it an 8/10 was expecting better but the food was over all good I got the Fish and Chips and my bf got the Bleu Burger cow boy burger but it took forever to come out on a slow night.
