Great atmosphere in a cute location of downtown Meridian. Both their brunch and dinner options are up to par, decently priced cocktails and so far very considerate and friendly staff. The one thing is they play music and the insolation in the restaurant is not good, so it can get very loud inside and might be difficult to talk to anyone at your table. Just moved to Meridian and was craving beef. Ordered the Seared Beef Salad and Cast Iron Berry Cobbler to go. The place was pretty crowded and it was the first time I was in a restaurant since COVID hit. The salad was really good - good size serving of steak. The balsamic onion jam gives the salad a great flavor, but the bleu cheese was skimpy. Got two small containers of bleu cheese dressing - one was watery 'I don't know what'. The cobbler was so sour, just couldn't eat it, even though it came with a scoop of ice cream. I'd definitely go back for the salad. read more

Since moving to the Meridian area, I haven't really ventured out to many restaurants and bars. The 830 Common is one of the places that I have visited and now make it a regular weekend occasion to stop in and have a drink. I have never had a problem with service, food, or drinks. Typically I sit at the bar, the bartender that I usually have is a young lady named Nikki who never skips a beat to make sure that I have drink and that the food that I have ordered is what I wanted. I have never disappointed when it comes to the meals, the cocktails and the staff. For a smaller establishment and how busy the place usually gets, Nikki always makes sure that the people sitting on her bar top are satisfied and have what they need, on top of all the drink orders that I have seen that go out to the other tables throughout the restaurant. I made a reservation a week ahead of time for Sunday brunch because I was sure it would be busy. I went there for the first time with a couple friends and the drinks and food were so good. I got the brown sugar sage latte and the Carnitas hash. I would say my only complaint was my dish was extremely greasy and the brussels sprouts were crunchy but the environment was fun and I love how bright the room was with the natural lighting. We went to 830 Common last night, Saturday November 20, 2021 at 4.15pm. We were just going in for drinks and appetizers, as we had dinner reservations at Brick 29 in Nampa. We were greeted promptly at the door and sat at the bar. The bartender, a young girl with long dreadlocks, greeted us quickly, and asked what we would like. I asked for the carmalized pineapple margarita, but made with Grey Goose instead of tequila. She said she can't do that with the drinks. I asked why, she said they have no way to account for the liquor. I asked if she could just upcharge me, she said No, order something with vodka. Ummmm, ok. So I decided on something else to order. Unfortunately, the bartender decided to ignore us. She looked at us multiple times, even cutting limes directly in front of us, but never asked what we wanted. We got up and were leaving, but asked for the manager at the door. First we got, he's very busy, so can't talk. Then the other hostess comes over and says, well he's on the phone and can't talk. We understand being short staffed, but this was awful service all round. Won't be back. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for what seems like forever! Finally the right time came up and we decided to head there around 4:45 on a Friday and it was probably a good idea on our end. When walking in they do enforce you to wear a mask to walk the 5 feet to your table so just in case you walk in with no mask, be aware. I wouldn't say this place is toddler friendly so it's more so a date night kind of place. There are a ton of high top tables and hardly any regular but with our timing they luckily had a regular table to sit at with our two year old. I noticed while waiting for our appetizer that they had to turn a LOT of people away for lack of seating, which I thought was really disappointing, so make a reservation or arrive early! We ordered the queso fundido as a starter and it was really good! I was a bit skeptical about the mushrooms (I love mushrooms) but in the queso thought it was an odd choice, turned out to be yummy! My entree of choice was the beer battered fish and chips and it was delicious. The fish came out really hot and the tarter sauce was my absolute favorite! My husband ordered the French dip and he's had many to try and he said this one wasn't his favorite, the meat was bland. Personally I would say you have to try the fish and chips if you try this place. read more

We have enjoyed several great meals here and enjoyed the food tonight but the service was really very bad. We had reservations at 5:00 and we were seated right away but waited 20 min for a server to bring silverware and ask if we wanted water. Really, at that point just bring the water. The wings were ok but the ranch was some kind of watered down end of the batch nonsense. Dinner came after the appetizers were done but the plates had been sitting there for some time and the waiter tried to put dinner down without clearing anything away. Our waitress spent most of her time at the host desk and really ignored most of her duties. I can't say that we will hurry back any time soon or recommend anyone else to either. read more

So many red flags so little space! We have been 3 times. First time things were good. Second mehhhh. The third time I saw the writing on the wall. The restrooms are filthy! The kitchen has black floors. The entire place is run like no one has ever been in a restaurant. I hate sending food back, hate it! In my 17 year marriage I've sent exactly 3 meals back to the kitchen. I sent my dinner back and honestly wish I had left when someone set a plate of stemmer mussles with mustard down and ran. who on this planet thought mussels with a squirt of mustard was an appropriate choice is an insane person. You need chef! You need a restaurant manager! You cannot charge what you charge for trash. And do not say you're sorry I didn't like you're food. Fries were advertised freshly cut. Appeared and tasted not. The beef dip was great tho! Gosh now I feel bad, but...we sat across from the bar. Watched the fellow make drink after drink with less than a shot each. We each had "one". Shortest drinks this side of Utah lol. Order the wine! It's a fair pour. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The menu options were terrific, but the execution was substandard. My chicken bbq salad arrived with cold chicken and bbq sauce, my son's chicken sandwich was cold, the service was super slow, yet only six tables were full on a Sunday night. The server was nowhere to be found for at least 20 minutes at time. Overall, we won't return. It's understandable that service was slow, but three servers to tend to six tables seemed manageable. Other patrons left their meals half eaten as well. Best part was the setting and the outdoor patio on a beautiful summer night. read more

We came here for an early dinner and it was crowded which was fine. There were four of us. I ordered the fish and chips and it was good. I can't remember what everyone else ordered but the food was was good and I don't remember anyone complaining. The thing I'm not a fan of was their very high prices. We've been here a bunch of times lately, usually we love it! Great waitstaff, good food, good drinks. Last time we went our waiter was clearly overwhelmed, one order came wrong (literally wasn't the item she ordered), waiter didn't even say sorry, her correct food finally came as we were almost done eating, no discount or apology for the issues, and my husbands food had a hair in it. Went today to try this place for the first time. We sat at the bar and ordered two cocktails off of their menu. The drinks were so syrupy sweet that we couldn't drink them. On top of this, the drink that my wife ordered was made with a lesser quality vodka than what was advertised on the menu. She ordered a drink that was suppose to have Effen Raspberry vodka (they even name the drink after Effen as well) and we watched the female bartender use Absolut Raspberry. This is not the same quality of vodka. This was enough for us as we figured the food was probably as bad as the drinks. Additionally, we figured they probably make a habit of using lesser quality ingredients just like they did at the bar. We will never go back. read more
