GREAT new restaurant - I am from Caldwell and met a friend in Meridian. My friend had been the night before and liked it so much, she took me for lunch the next day. She and her husband went back again for dinner the same night! Was thrilled I could sit outside in the shade with my dog. They brought him a bowl of water right away as it was hot. Our waitress was great (sorry, can't remember her name) - the food was good and not over priced. Will be back! If you live in Meridian get there quick before it becomes super popular - which it should. read more

You should get a day raise because I can see how much love you put into each drink you made. I miss this kind of service. Let me just start out by saying that THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. As an appetizer, we had the Queso Fundido and for dinner, we had the crispy chicken sandwich and the "Cuz I'm a Cowboy" Burger. The reason I'm giving this place 3 stars was the service. Perhaps it was a combination of being understaffed and having tables outside and inside (it was a beautiful day and people were seated outside), but our waitress only visited our table 3 times and all of the items we ordered took a very long time to get to our table. Our drinks and appetizer came out together, 30 minutes after we ordered. Our dinner came out 45-50 minutes after we ordered it. The restaurant was not at full capacity, but it did seem like the waitresses were spread thin. What did not help was that there didn't seem to be a set Bartender making drinks for everyone, It was more like the waitresses were making their own drinks as they went. Maybe there was also a hold up in the kitchen, causing our food to take longer. Whatever the case may be, we were disappointed. Our waitress was nice enough, but we didn't see or talk to her much, and she didn't address the time that we waited at all or apologize for the inconvenience. We hope to come back, but we're afraid that the service will disappoint again. read more

ate here for the first time at brunch, food okay, service not much. The young man who seated us was dismissive. They need to offer more options fir breakfast potatoes like grits or hash browns instead of 2 large plain chunks of potatoes. They also charged 8.50 for a not so great cinnamon roll. Might give it a try for lunch to see if it's better, I had the avocado benedict and my husband had a carnitas hash . Wayyyy over priced, basic food with little to no flavor. I got a salad and it literally tasted like nothing. So disappointed.

We went on a Sunday around 1:30 (two of us). The hostess said it would be a 45 minute wait. I looked at the bar and there appeared to be some seats there and she said that there was only one seat available. I said that we'd be happy to sit at the bar if it meant a shorter wait. She said she would text us if that were the case. We went outside to wait and I ran back in to use the restroom. I noticed there were actually four seats at the bar that weren't being used and I asked the bartender if they were available and she said they were. So we immediately sat down with no wait at all. (?) The bartender was not engaging and never smiled to anyone at the bar no matter how engaging the customers were. Kind of set the tone. Anyway, I was torn between two dishes and asked if she had an opinion on either one and she said both were very popular. So I chose one and it arrived completely cold. My husband's was not cold which was good. I didn't bother saying anything because they were very busy and at this point I was just ready to leave. We miss flatbread pizza! Tried this for appetizers and desserts and were sadly disappointed. We ordered some queso... and it had no flavor. Zero. How is that even possible?? Great food choices and very unique appetizers. The bar is well stocked and serves a number of one-of-a-kind drinks. We loved the atmosphere and background music. I enjoyed the atmosphere outside. With shade of umbrella, misters going, and slight breeze, the 93 degrees wasn't an issue. The music volume was just right for dinner conversation. Our server was polite and attentive. The cast iron macaroni and cheese ended up feeling overpriced for average taste. I've had gourmet mac-n-cheese at a few places around the valley that are similarly priced but far better, cheesier and creamier flavor. My husband had chicken and waffles. Said the waffles were the best he's ever had but his chicken was super dry. We ordered dessert but it didn't end up being available, so that was a bummer too. I might be willing to give a 2nd try with a friend and different menu item, but my husband wasn't impressed enough to return. read more

The hostess is the first impression of any restaurant. For both of my visits the hostess at 830 was an appalling representation of the restaurant. Neither seemed to have any interest in customers. Today I encountered a seating issue in which the hostess said he needed to discuss with the Manager, and neither followed up with me about the seating need. I was seated at the bar, the bar tender summed it up nicely by saying "that's the way the cookie crumbles". Seems that he knows you take your chances at 830. They had 2 chances with me, I will not chance a third strike. read more

Service and seating was very prompt. We sat outside and got everything ( utensils and such) as well as water immediately. Then ordered when we were ready and food was out quickly. 10 or 15 minutes I would say. Their I am your huckleberry alcoholic drink was well made. Food was 12/10. Very good and made perfectly. I got the bleu bugers ordered medium rare ( some pink) and it was spot on. The lady got the shrimp poboy and it was delicious as well. Portions for the price were great. I never really leave reviews but this establishment made me! Haha try it, you won't be disappointed. I cannot speak for rush hour service as we were there at lunch. read more

We were at the restaurant last week. We sat at the bar and again today. Our service both times was outstanding. Last week was our first time for Sunday brunch. Our bartender Nicky was efficient, polite, and engaging. We like sitting at the bar because we know we can socialize with others, as well with the bartender. There are times we do prefer a more intimate setting and that is when we will sit at a table. Nicky was incredibly busy and I even commented on how efficient she was working and keeping up with the busy rush hour. We enjoyed visiting with her and her boyfriend who sat at the bar. He was gracious to us and very respectful of Nicky the bartender as she kept up with a busy Sunday brunch crowd. We did notice her manager stepping up to help her when things were very busy. We very much enjoyed the atmosphere and the casual conversations sitting at the bar provides. We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere as well. Not sure about the experience others may have had sitting at the bar...do not let that detour you from visiting this establishment. We will be going back as often as we can. read more

Went for Sunday brunch. My idea of brunch is a brunch bar, so basically they have a small Sunday breakfast from a menu. Ordered basic bacon and eggs. Bacon was partly not completely cooked on some ends but ok. Eggs ordered OM were closer to OH. Country potatoes were a tad overdone, but not dry. Came with one slice of toast and butter. Had to ask for jam. No knife to spread either, they only give out forks. Bloody Mary (personal taste) was good, but could do without the extra 'stuff' on top, and were more expensive than the meal. Friends had the Braised Carnitas Benny and said it was excellent. read more

Had family and friends in town for the 4th we came in with a group and it was pretty hoppin , we were greeted right away and accommodated quickly! Holy Moly this was such a stellar find! I had plans to meet friends for happy hour, but the place we chose was a no go. 830 Commons was close, so we thought, why not. It was fabulous!! From the service to the food, everything was top notch. After having appetizers, I HAD to order a BBQ chicken salad to go for dinner. It was huge and packaged in such a way that the greens didn't wilt and the avocado was still looking as fresh as could be. I am so excited to go back and try EVERYTHING on the menu. This is a nice restaurant in old Meridian, nice location. The food was disappointing for the price. My salad was small and my friends fries were sparse and had been sitting under a heating lamp for awhile. They were not edible. I doubt we will return to this establishment. read more

Food is good, they've put upscale spins on traditional bar food & overall prices are EXPENSIVE. Just paid $32 for 2 simple bloody Mary's (2 olives, nothing else) and a small appetizer. Last time we were here it was in the evening and we felt the same - very expensive for the area. You could go downtown and get the same quality food and cocktails for less. read more

No complaints about the atmosphere, service, or cocktails. Presentation of food is excellent but I had higher expectations based on the menu. I was most excited for the chorizo eggs Benedict but it was a disappointment. My egg wasn't runny at all and the amount of chorizo was probably around a tablespoon. Carnitas hash came with one egg and again with very little carnitas. Would come back for the drinks, not so much for the breakfast items. read more

My wife and I ate here by accident. The resturant we were going too had a long wait. We are not originally from here but arrived and live in Meridian from Nee York. Dakota our server was very friendly and careful not to ask me if I am from NY, very professional for one so young. I had the Alaskian cod which were large portions cooked perfectly. The fries were not great. My wife had french dip roast beef, she ate the whole thing which is unusual. I had tomato soup to try it. It was thick with fried basil leaf. Peppery good. There were no salt or pepper shakers on any table. I am use to using salt and pepper on my food. There was no non alcohol auto refills or at least they didn't fill mine. All and all it was a good experience in the historic area of Meridian Idaho. Good fun for a New Yorker. read more

Eight Thirty Common is our favorite spot in Meridian no doubt. Every time we have ate there, the food is incredible, the place is clean, the staff is incredible and the price is great. It is a perfect place for a date night or really anytime. If you have a chance to try their brunch on sunday's - you must!! It is so delicious, the breakfast cocktails are unique and yummy and everything about it is great. Also their happy hour is a perfect mix of drink specials and delicious apps. We come here often and don't see that changing. read more

Food is amazing but the service is incredibly slow! No matter who my waiter is they are slow. Not sure if it's the food that's slow or the waiter. As soon as you sit down expect to wait 20-30 minutes before someone comes to take your drink and food order. And the hostess likes to get angry when you ask to sit outside. read more

I absolutely love the food at Eight-Thirty Common, so I have referred several friends, but the feed back I always get is that the service is terrible - so much so, it makes it hard to enjoy the food. Most said they wouldn't go back. My husband and I were in Saturday and experienced the same kind of service. I have been in at times where the restaurant was absolutely slammed, and the last couple times I was there, it was not, and I received the worst service at the times it was not as busy. The server on Saturday was practically rude, like it was annoying her that we were there and wanted things from her. Additionally, of all of the times I've been in, only two of those times was the espresso machine working, even though there are several espresso drinks on the menu. The espresso machine is down more than McDonald's ice cream machine. I am very sad as this really has been one of my favorite places to eat. read more

Called asking about this and was told I should of listed my sauces I wanted in the notes of door dash and that was it. Impressive. I recently moved here from California ( Please don't judge me ) and have so far been pretty disappointed in the food when eating out in meridian/Boise area. And then I came here for brunch and was blown away. Who is your cook? I want to kiss him. The blueberry ricotta pancakes were fluffy AF and no syrup needed. And the truffle tots?!! Jesus Christ. One of the best things I ever put in my mouth. The house Bloody Mary had me saying Hail Marys after every sip it was soooo good. And the service was exceptional. Our waiter was quick, not hovering and friendly. And the table next to us was a group of fabulous wig wearing dolls out for a bachelorette. Their waitress didn't skip a beat. I don't think I ever saw their mimosa glasses empty. I will be coming back here for many brunch's. read more
