This store manipulates customer surveys. The employees tear off the bottom portion of your receipt so that you don't have access to the survey code. When asked why they do that, it's done per the request of the district manager. I told them that's manipulating the survey, they said yes it is. They also said the district manager has employees complete the survey themselves. This is so wrong on all levels. When I asked for my receipt they reprinted it. Nice, casual bagel shop (includes bakery/deli) with fresh coffee selection and outdoor patio. I got a Texas brisket egg sandwich (with two eggs) for about $9 - decent and fresh, but lacking just a bit of flavor. Seems like a good spot to hang out on any casual morning. We went to the shop off Harvard in Irvine. Our breakfast bagels were awesome. My friend had egg and cheese on toasted honey wheat. I had Texas brisket with cheese and egg on same, double toasted. The coffee was outstanding. I love when you can mix different types and even add hot water if you like your coffee weaker. Service was quick at 11:30. Great outdoor seating as well as indoor. I really miss east coast bagels and Einstein bros is the answer. Pretty good bagels, with different smears and OJ. A good start to my mornings. This is a pretty good place to enjoy a bagel and a cup of coffee. They have a wide variety of different types of bagels to choose from, as well as various other bakery products, such as muffins and danishes. I stopped by on a Sunday morning, which is probably their busiest time and all the seating inside was taken. Einstein has the best tasting bagels IMO. If I'm driving 30 minutes just to buy their bagels, they have to be pretty darn good. Five stars for taste but downgraded for poor customer service and value. I'm a member of their Shmear Society (rewards program). Today's deal was 13 bagels and 2 tubs of cream cheese for $13.99. I get there and I'm told for this deal, I cannot request the bagels of my choosing. The bagels are preselected, combination of sweet and savory. Ok fine, though nowhere on the Shmear Society website did it say restrictions applied. I'm told If I want to select specific bagels, I can pay regular price at $15.99. Since we only like savory bagels, I decided to go for it. I asked for 8 garlic bagels to start. The manager said I can have only 6 garlic max, what the heck!! There were at least 10 or more in the basket. I can understand if she'd said she was filling an online order but no explanation was given. Frankly, I've never been to a bagel shop where a limit was placed on the type of bagel I can buy. The way I see it, if the customer is paying full price, no restrictions should apply, unless the policy was spelled out on the menu, which in this instance was not. Talk about poor customer service. Furthermore, the workers here are less than friendly every single time I've come. So maybe it's time to go to a different location in the future. read more

Anytime I have to go to Irvine I stop by and get a cranberry bagel. They were the first company I ever had a bagel from years ago when they were in Rancho Cucamonga. Still love the bagels and glad they carry the cranberry one still. Service is great and people are friendly. read more

Bagel sandwich looked like it was a smear of mac n cheese but it was watery eggs. I didn't bother trying eating after the first bite. My chai coffee was primarily milk and didn't have a flavor of chai tea or the extra shot of espresso I asked for. At least I have the cheese potato bites.
