This place is super nice inside and a lot bigger than it looks. The chips are okay...not salty enough for me...the salsa was awesome. It is served hot...like hotter than warm and isn't terribly hot spice wise. Just great. My child being a child got a quesadilla with fries. He said the quesadilla was as good as chilis (this is the highest praise from him because he's basic). I will say The fries were pretty great. I got the tacos for Tuesday, they were good...maybe very good. I just realize I like Mexican food, but I want Tex mex spice and the salsas provided for the tacos didn't do much for me....not the flavor I want. My wife got the wet burrito and it was HUGE...after she ate some and I tried a bit we still took home 75% of it and it will be 2 more meals. That being said, it was fine...not my favorite. And for the record the service was pretty awful despite us being either 1 of 2 parties or the only people there. The waitress took our menus walked away and then after I asked if we could order she came back without menus...I think she thought we were just getting queso and my sons meals maybe...it was just super odd. Stopped by this new place for some breakfast, there were only 2 other people there eating. The inside was pretty cool and they had a nice little bar. They do offer free chips and salsa which I did have, the chips were pretty thick and crunchy. The salsa was a roasted chipotle salsa, it was ok. I ordered an orange juice to drink, it didn't seem fresh but store bought is fine. I ordered what I thought was huevos rancheros with over easy eggs. What I was brought was eggs with the salsa on top of them. Yes the salsa that was brought out with the chips. I was expecting a fresh ranchera sauce but I did not get that. The papas needed some salt and my eggs were wayyyy over cooked. They should rename the huevos rancheros to huevos with salsa cuz that isn't ranchero without a ranchera sauce. Super bummed. This place is cute and delicious! It's a hidden gem in a tiny shopping complex. The decor is very nice. We sat in a booth in the front so I'm not sure how much space they had in the back seating area, but they had a nice bar and some bar tables. They have Happy Hour M to F from 4-7 pm which includes $8 margaritas and $3 beer. We had the salsa, carne asada tacos, chicken nachos, kids quesadilla. Great food and not crowded on a Thursday evening. Will be back to try this again, especially if El Marisol is too busy!! read more

I decided to try this place out since my friend had recommended it. This place is a nice little place tucked away in a strip mall. I liked the decor and ambiance of the place. The service was really friendly and attentive. On to the food: Chips and salsa were great. Really enjoyed the roasted tomato flavor. Quesabirria was really delicious. Killer chips and salsa! Really really good... says a lot. I had the green enchiladas. Sauce was a bit think but good. Better when I added the lettuce and tomato that was on the plate. Took a while to get a blended (not really frozen) margarita. I had the classic and it was ok - should've gotten it on the rocks. Chips and salsa were very good. First time here me my father in law and hubby came for lunch we ordered 3 margaritas on the rocks and it was strong but really good I'm feeling no pain lol My hubby ordered the Birria Seco plate it came with rice and refried beans but he subbed it for charro beans! The place was very nice and clean. The seating was comfortable. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. The food came out hot and was very good. I personally didn't care for the hotdogs in my beans but other than that it was good. I had the Cammarones Monterey and my dining partner had the enchiladas verdes. He said they were delicious. Tried this new Mexican restaurant for dinner Saturday night. It has nice contemporary decor and very friendly staff. Loved their complimentary chips and roasted salsa. The drinks were good as well. We tried their birria tacos, chicken flautas, and chipotle enchiladas - everything was hot and fresh. We finished up by sharing a piece of their delicious tres leches cake, which was hand-made by the owner's wife. Not gonna lie, ended up here because Mirasol had a 45 month wait... Very happy to have found this place! One of the best, if not the best mole sauces I have had in San Antonio. My daughter had the carne guisada and it was seasoned perfectly and had a great tender texture. Someone else commented about their chips and salsa and I have to agree, they were very good. I am so happy to have this new place close to home. Ambiance, service, food, drinks, all exceptional. My hubby and I went yesterday for dinner. To start, the chips and salsa were both warm and so yummy, the food itself was absolutely delicious. I had the chicken mole enchiladas and my hubby had the chile relleno. I have never seen a chile relleno so stuffed with meat, and the sauce on top was thick and so delicious. The mole was also so good. Promising new Mexican restaurant! Not your usual Tex Mex. Try the chipotle chicken enchiladas. The chicken is tender and flavorful and the chipotle sauce is fresh and tasty. The shrimp cocktail has lots of large shrimp in a glass of fresh avocado, tomatoes, and onions. Despite the appearance it is not ceviche. The churro desert was excellent. Came on a Saturday night. We really liked the decor and the friendly staff. Got a couple margs which were delicious! They have a style of chips that went really well with the salsa and queso. The atmosphere is nice. We had excellent service. The presentation for the food was wonderful. I had a Margarita that was fantastic. The food experience; salsa was bland. It looked great and had a hint of heat but needs more flavor. The chips were extremely greasy. The tortillas were store bought. In San Antonio, homemade tortillas are the way to go. The beans and rice were okay. The green sauce seemed a bit heavy on what I can only describe as a citrus flavor. I really want them to stick around. If they get the salsa and homemade tortillas...this place will be I had such a good experience with everything but the food, that I think I will check back in a month just to see if they take customer feedback into consideration. We got there just before happy hour and ordered a couple of frozen margaritas. They were very good and a decent size. My husband and I shared the enchiladas verdes. They were a little dry but still tasty. More sauce would have been nice. The chips and salsa were also very good.
