We visited El Morfi Grill and were very delighted with the Argentinian Parrillada we ordered. We asked for medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection, the taste of the cuts were delicious. The Chimichurri, to accompany it all, was perfectly made and enhancement the flavors to maximum savor. We had a glass of Malbec wine, recommended by the server, and we were in paradise having the best lunch in quite a while.

To top it all off, for dessert we had Crepes with dulce de leche and Tiramisu. If in Glendale, pay a visit to this great Argentinian restaurant and try it for yourselves, you'll be glad you did.

We also had the flan and panqueques with dulce de Leche. It was worth the drive out here. I had to purchase 2 jars of the chimmichurri and a dozen empanadas to go! Seriously, the bread with chimmichurri was amazing! Highly recommend....

We also shared the crepes with dulce de leche for dessert and I will be back just for those! Very happy to find a new spot to add to our lunch rotation - it's just not the cheapest spot.

The empanadas were delicious and so was the linguini pasta. Both my wife and sister had the Costeletas de cerdo. The waitress was wonderful and had a friendly way of making us feel welcome. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a party of 5 with a well behaved newborn.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Last time we were here was doing the coronavirus pandemic. My wife and I had to dine outdoors. We never forgot El Morfi Grill. Today we sadly learned that this establishment is closing to economics hard times . Too expensive to run a small Argentinian athentic restaurant in Glendale, CA, let alone on Brand Bl. Best wishes to the owner and the staff.

Guiso de Lentejas Chimichurri Jalapeño and Cheese Empanada

First of all the food was a must have. It's hard to find good Argentinian food and when you do this is the spot. The service is what you would expect from a small yet well known restaurant. We had the "Parrillada Para Dos," it was fantastic, giving a little more than "for two" but taking home left overs was no problem at all. To go with it, the "Guiso de Lentejas" hit the spot. I cannot wait to come back for more.

Sadly they closed permanently as of 2/15/2026. I just found this out today when my friend and I were planning to get together at El Morfi for lunch. This is a family run great Argentinian restaurant in the city of Glendale. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Foods, services, & ambience get all 5 stars in my opinions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My mother and I went in on a whim a few weeks ago and were not disappointed. The empanadas are absolutely delicious! The pastry was soft and fluffy while the filling was delicious and well-served. We ordered the churrasco, asado de tira, and spinach lasagna. The sauce on the lasagna was creamy and tasty without being overpowering. As for the meats, all were cooked to perfection, well seasoned, and super juicy. One of the best cut of meats I've had! The service can be a bit slow sometimes but considering this is a small-family run restaurant with only a handful of employees, it's completely understandable. Our server, Rene, was friendly and attentive and checked in on us frequently. Overall, a great experience and delicious food! If you get the chance or are in the area make sure you check out this neat little restaurant and support a small, family-run business! My recommendations: beef empanadas, asado de tira with garlic potatoes, sangria

I have always walked past by this restaurant but have never really tried it until today. After a long day at work, I decided to meet up with my mom and treat her here just because... My mom and I shared their housemade sangria which was so refreshing! We started with the ham and cheese empanada and chicken empanada. Both were such a delight especially if you add the chimichurri. We then ordered the Paella Valenciana and a plate of penne pasta with meat and red sauce. We got fooled because apparently the paella is good for two people but man that dish was big, hearty and for sure delicious. I loved how they were super generous with the fresh seafood. The plate of pasta was also very delicious and is also good for sharing.

Lovely, family-owned restaurant on Brand in Glendale. Who knew there was authentic Argentinian food in the valley that wasn't just meat skewers and tourists? Get there early, order the sangria and settle in for simple, home made fare. We started with the empanadas (must try) and shared the angus steak and chopped salad. Saved room for the flan (also home made) which was simple, tasty and filling. Others have commented on the service. For me, that's always a downside in family run places, I.e., just not enough people working. But the upside is you get to feel welcomed by someone who cares and knows the food coming out of the kitchen. Our server was clearly the mom and kept telling us "home made!" So sit back, relax and just enjoy!

I work up the street and have had several co-workers tell me this place is great. It might be great for a simple and quick lunch but I would not recommend it for dinner. My medium rare NY steak was well done and the fries were greasy and gross! I have always had great service there but I can say the same for the food. read more

I love trying new places so we came here last night and tried the empanadas and ravioli with meat sauce. My friend got the spaghetti and meat sauce. Service was very good. Loved the man's accent! The portions weren't big but the dish was very tasty. A little pricey for the amount you get. The chicken and spicy beef empanadas were amazing as well. read more

Home alone, I decided to splurge and ordered milanese and empanadas from El Morfi. Even though I've passed the place many times, I'd never tried it. After tonight, I'll be a regular. Living in Italy 4 years, I tried more than my share of milanese, in cities all around that country. Who'd have thought that Glendale would have the best milanese I've ever tried !!! Tender, tasty, and huge. While full from my main course, I couldn't resist trying the empanadas and must say they were scrumptious as well. My compliments to the chef!!! By the way, I ordered from LA Bites and the food got to me in 35 minutes, despite the 60 minute projection. All around, what a lovely dining experience I had tonight! read more

This small family-style eatery in the Glendale theater district obviously has its loyal customers. We stopped by Saturday after the matinee on the recommendation of our guest, a long-time fan of the place. He had the salmon, which he described as the "best ever." (He's prone to superlatives.) We had seafood paella for 2, which my wife found too salty. It was. We were assured by the owner (?) that they would consider this if we came in again. Service was slow on this busy night. Normally this would be a 3-star, but I had a clear view of the sidewalk where the restaurant did a brisk business selling empanadas to passers-by, suggesting to me that we had missed the true house specialty. So, 4. Dinner came with small but tasty salads and zesty pesto to spread on little sourdough chips. Total bill including tip and the 3 empanadas our guest ordered to go (but no wine or drinks) was a little over $70. read more

I go here a lot with my whole family. Good food for sure. The starter bread is worth the trip alone. I usually get the empanadas which are very good. My wife goes for more of the regular meals. We always have very good food. The service is very nice but they will not bother you. When you want them, call them. It is laid back, european style where if you sat there for 3 hours, it would not be a problem with them. Highly recommend. read more

Went there for my husband's birthday, 7 of us.. Food was BLEND.. No taste to it at all..... We got charged for food we did not order, and waitress would not take it off the bill.. Not a single plate we ordered was satisfactory..Service was terrible.. 1 waitress was practically taking care of the whole restaurant.... I ordered Veg. Ravioli, and they put meat in it.... When they fixed it and brought it back, same issue.. seemed like they tried taking out meat and sent the same plate back to our table... Food took over an hour to bring it out in the 1st place... I WOULD NOT RECOMMAND THIS PLACE TO ANY ONE... If you want to throw your money down the drain, go here.. perfect place.. I was so embarrassed for picking this place.. read more

There are so many things that I love about this restaurant that I have to make a list: (1) The owners/couple/family that own and run this restaurant. In no way am I close to them, but I am have been/am a regular, and the fact that they always sincerely greet me without knowing my name makes me feel at home. (2) Their bread and chimichurri sauce. Oh Jesus Lord Mary Christ Buddah Allah Selena, I could make a meal out of their bread and chimichurri sauce alone. I wish I could, but I've been to scared to ask what it would cost to just have unlimited servings of them until I'm full. So instead, one day I resorted to buy their chimichurri sauce and take it home, and guess what I finished the jar in one day. (3)Their soda. This may sound ridiculous because their soda comes from a fountain drink, but it is the BEST fountain drink soda I have ever had. The flavor never gets lost in the ice, there's always bubbles and the fizz just always hits the spot. (4) The food. Yes, I haven't tried much diversity of their plates(I like to stick to what I really really really like), but from the dishes I have tried, the food is delicious. Their empanadas are the best I have ever had. I really like the cheese and onion, and cheese and jalapeno. (5) The decor/environment. I love that this place is small. It makes the restaurant feel more intimate. If you get to sit by the window, you'll feel like you're actually sitting outside watching the people pass by. When I do sit by the window, I always feel like I'm transported to some cute cafe where I can sit and people watch-the exposed brick only helps to add to the feeling. The only flaw(and it's a me thing, not a you thing El Morfi) is that I can't afford your dinner prices. Maybe one day, but nonetheless, I definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area or anyone interested in good Argentinian food. read more

My wife ordered lasagna and it was awful, My plate was bass fish and I got a bill for that only for 21.90 not disclosed on the menu as a special of the day. Very disappointing. I felt rip off with no taste. read more

My friend and I had a very disappointing dinner at El Morfi last night. On the blackboard that advertised the day's specials was "paella" for two. It sounded delicious, so we decided to try it. Unfortunately, what arrived at our table was a dish of mixed seafood, chicken and yellow rice that was both overcooked and oversalted. The shrimp, clams and mussels were dry and chewy instead of moist and tender, and the rice was so salty that both of us soon stopped eating. To compound the problem, the waitress didn't seem at all concerned that we didn't like the food. She didn't offer to replace the dish, to summon the chef, or even a simple apology that the meal wasn't to our liking. Needless to say, we won't be dining there again! read more

I love this place, and I come here regularly for lunch. I've never had any food I didn't like at this place, but the items I most often get are the empanadas and the pastas. The lunch specials are very reasonably priced and range in size from just the right amount of food for me (empanada lunch special, yum!) to large-sized for a bigger appetite or leftovers for dinner. And the pre-meal bread is delicious, too! But perhaps best of all is the waitstaff, who are always so nice to us (even before they started to recognize us as regulars)! read more

I had my graduation party there and even do I had reservation and they knew I was coming they only had only one server to help us and two other big parties, also one busser for the whole place. We had dinner at El Morfi in glendale last night, and I was happy to find that not much has changed! This is some of the best Argentine food I've ever had. The service and quality of the food are still the same; excellent! I especially appreciate the very home-like environment, the friendliness and attention. Food was good, but very overpriced. They were running an offer for two sangrías, that they did not valid when we arrived because we arrived before the promotion time, stayed way past this time and they did not have the courtesy to offer. We have to send our parrillada back because it was way overcooked and we order medium. Not planing on returning. read more

Today, I was feeling chimichurri and empanadas, so we made a few rights, a couple of lefts and here we are. We decided to take the adventurous route this time around. I ordered the Lengua a la Vinagretta (sliced beef tongue) chilled, smooth & creamy, nice citrus, olive-oil & parsley balance (goodness). We also had the Chinchulines (cow intestine) they say tripe but clearly it wasn't. Before you bugg-out let me explain the particulars. On normal circumstances I wouldn't opt on to such a thing (intestine) although in this case it was prepared "a la brasa" with the same garlic, parsley, olive oil, citrus components. The texture: a tender crunch and again a creamy finish. I have to say, it got a little addictive for a moment. An honorable mention goes to the Sautéed mushrooms (Hongos al ajo) they were outstandingly good - FOR REAL. And of-course the Chorizo plate was cooked to perfection - muy delicioso indeed. I love the authenticity of old world righteousness cooking, simple and complex at the same time. Let me finish my second Sangria and figure out what I'm ordering on my next visit. Salud! read more

I have been craving empanadas for a very long time and have heard great things about this restaurant. WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED at all!! Delicious!! The service was great! The food was perfectly flavored and the atmosphere is soothing, exotic and calming! Entrana was my dinner: juicy, soft, delicious! I strongly recommend either with grilled potatoes or garlic fries! Yum!! Loved the Pinot Grigio! I strongly recommend this wonderful restaurant! We will definitely been back!! read more

I have been going to this place for many years and I have always been satisfied.The empanadas, the el morfi antipasto , the calamari ,the pizza, the sangria and everything else is delicious...all the servers are very nice and what else...well ..the decor is not the best but I go there to enjoy the good food that they serve!!!!This is a family owned restaurant and it's a plus for me!!!! read more

service bad, forgot appetizers until dinner half over and we had to ask if they forgot. asked for ketchup(good fries) and never brought it, had to walk up and find it behind the counter ourself. chicken picatta no where near as good as cheesecake factory. NY steak kind of pale and 1/4 of it was huge fat and grizzle, the 12 oz u pay for is about 6 able to eat, good environment but lower quality food. read more

Some friends took me here last night, and I had never eaten Argentinian food before. It was really interesting to me, because my friends are Venezuelan, and I'm used to Venezuelan and Italian (separately) and this restaurant seems to blend the two with a little twist. It's all about simple food with unique spices, and this was really quite wonderful! I'd say the empanadas are the best thing they make. Then the mushroom appetizer, and the dipping sauce is amazing! read more

I came here a month or two ago. My friend and I ordered pasta. Boy, was that a BIG mistake! I ended up with food poisoning. I'm convinced that this location does not receive regular customers so that it preserves months worth of food, ingredients, etc. We ended up tipping them well, too. Great food served here. I really like this place because its the kind of restaurant where you can have a nice family dinner without servers running everywhere and a grip of people talking loudly to the point where you cant hear the person next to you. This place is not trendy, its not fashionable it wont be in magazines top lists. El Morfi is an Argentine / Italian restaurant that has great food and great service with the ambiance of being at a friends home for dinner. So get a bottle of wine or two, try the calamari and enjoy. read more

Just a quick review because I promised my daughter I would do so today. My family and I have been going here for over 10 years and have always gotten good food at a good price. Yes, as others have indicated, the service can be aloof at times, and I'm not sure why it takes them so long to take your order, but overall the restaurant is good. The ravioli and short ribs are very good as well as the empanadas. The salads are just okay, but the chimichuri is very delicious. My kids like the pasta, too. read more

Chimichurri sauce is soooooo good! You must try it with the bread. Empanadas is amazing. I had 2 empanadas- beef and cheese/onion. Each empanada costs $1.90. The restaurant sells Chimichurri sauce for about $4. read more

Walk in for a quick fix and walk out with enough freshly made empanadas and high quality meat to feed a small village. The selection is fantast and the staff is very friendly. The real danger of this small little shop, is the dry goods section. I can't just "shop" there. I have to gaze at their wall of snacks like a culinary historian. Seeing all those Argentine brands and dry goods triggers a massive wave of nostalgia for all the goodies my family would bring back in overstuffed suitcases every time they visited Argentina. I inevitably find myself surrendering to some alfajores. The main reason I drove here was for the sandwiches de miga. The ham and cheese is our household "fix," and I'm pretty sure my family would trade me for a fresh stack of them if given the opportunity. I always make sure to grab a few empanadas to go too. I left happy, fully stocked, and already planning the next haul.

Initially I was going to give one star, or infinite negative stars if Yelp allowed, for my server's shady service. After speaking with the manager, Roxanne, on the phone, I decided to rate them 3 stars based on the food only, and just write about the experience. Upon entering, I asked the host if we could sit at one of two empty booths. She stated that they were only for parties of five, then walked us to a hidden inside room by the restroom. The vibe just felt off, but I did not let my daughter know what my gut was telling me. The room had only two parties in it. We sat a while before our server came. I will call him E. for now, as Roxanne will speak with him. He asked, "Are you good with water for now?" He did not ask if we were ready, if we wanted drinks, or if it was our first time. A couple came in after us. He was attentive with them, and they got bread ahead of us. Every table had bread except for ours. Then I saw E. filling water at every table except ours, and my daughter's cup was half full. My daughter sarcastically said, "Is it because we look poor?" I know there is always some truth to every joke. I said, "I guess." Then she continued, "Uhm, at least you had a nice blouse on, and jeans. I am wearing a tank top." I laughed, but quietly I was very upset. I held my composure because I did not want to ruin her dinner. But she should not have felt that way. That was not okay at all. I checked their dress policy beforehand. It is casual. My daughter wore a pinstripe button-down over a tank top, charcoal shorts, and tennis shoes. The females there were in dresses and the males in slacks. We sure dressed for the occasion, just not what E. was expecting. We sat alone a long while. No bread, no utensils, just water. E. finally came. Before we said anything: "We will bring out some plates for you to share? You'll be sharing, right?" Unprompted, he mentioned the Wagyu. "That would be good to order for you to share. There are plenty of meat in one plate." I had actually planned to order the Wagyu, but after that comment I chose the lamb. I ordered the clams for appetizer ($22), and the lamb chop ($56). My daughter ordered the sea bass (Corvina, $46). E. asked if I wanted spaghetti added to the clams, pointing at the $12 add-on. Since he pointed at the price, I declined. He then asked about sides, again pointing at the prices. I was planning on the creamed spinach ($14). Again, I smiled and declined after his poor behavior. E. was annoyed that I was unfazed. Every signal said the same thing: they did not think we could afford to be here. The food was okay. The clam sauce tasted like lemon juice. The lamb was pungent and gamey, and the sea bass seasoning was not to my daughter's liking. I also ordered hot tea. E. listed the options: green tea, chamomile, or herbal. I chose herbal. It did not arrive. I had to ask a busboy who brought the clams out, who flagged E. down. E. asked me the flavor again from another table. "Chamomile?" I reiterated: herbal. He did not come by to apologize for the delay. When I received it, it was chamomile and not herbal. Halfway through dinner, E. passed by once. "Everything is good?" We said yes as he kept walking. Yet he stopped at other tables to check on them. I flagged him down to recook my lamb, which was too raw. Without confirming, he took my plate away. Then I overheard him say, "Box it." I thought he meant for another table. He came back with the still-raw lamb in a box and a check, then instantly took off. I never asked for the damn check. He did not misunderstand me. He confirmed with another table before boxing their food. He never asked me. He boxed my raw lamb and dropped the check while my daughter was still eating, then walked away. As soon as I placed my card on the table, E. miraculously appeared. Lucky for him, I tipped 18%, but I wanted to tip only 10% or just leave a NOTE. I selected "printed check" on the handheld. A bright green text popped up that you cannot miss: "Please wait, your server will come back with your printed receipt." He took the device, said nothing, and disappeared. I waited for the receipt. It never came, and when I noticed E. was at another table with his back toward us, we left. Once home and alone, I called the manager. Roxanne was apologetic and offered a free appetizer if we return. I declined it and stated I just want better service if we choose to give the place another visit. Roxanne handled the call with grace, and that is the only reason this is not a one star. In retrospect, I do not see us coming back anytime soon, or ever. UNACCEPTABLE!!! To my daughter, who kept her kindness through a night that did not deserve it, you are the best part of every table I sit at. xoxo

I have debated giving El Morfi Grill a 2 star, but the food was so damn good I'm regretting not giving it a 5 star. My wife and I walked in and found it was happy hour.. perfect! We ordered a beer and 3 appetizers. Two of our appetizers came out quickly(chorizo and hongos al ajo) and the two dishes were AMAZING. Shortly after, we were served our main dishes (napolitana and entrana). We asked our server where our third appetizer was and she said, "no you can't order happy hour appetizers because it's past 7". My wife and I replied we had ordered the appetizer with the other two, but she insisted we did not and rushed over to show us what she had written down to prove to us that we did not order it. She then proceeded to ask if we still wanted the order - my mood had been ruined at this point and it almost felt like I was begging for the happy hour $6 Matambre ($6 hh price vs $12 regular). I am no bum. Anyway, my wife and I decided to forget about it and enjoy date night - our first bites of each of our orders were delicious! Unfortunately, the server came back with the Matambre and said, "here you go", almost as if she was forced to do it... ruining the mood again. As they say, service will determine if your business will do well - sadly, despite the food being great, I don't have the desire to return to El Morfi Grill. =( read more

"Nice restaurant"? My friends and I went there on Sat nite, and there were more servers than there were customers. Even when we left (around 9:45), the place was STILL empty. What does that tell u? The food is just blah. I think i could've made better ravioli at home. And don't get chicken consomme.. it's not soup. It's water flavored with chicken. I think I've seen more chicken in a can of Campbell's chicken soup. $5 bucks for better. What a rip off. Plates go for $11 - $40 (most of the pastas are in 10-20 range). Kinda pricey considering it's friggin' Glendale. AS far as service.. I am not sure if it's an grumpy-italian-lady-server thing or what, but she looked annoyed even seating us when we got there. She reminded me of old version of Fran from the TV show The Nanny.. except wrinklier, fatter, and not so hot... why? b/c she had that annoying voice and even more annoying serving attitude. From the moment we walked in, Ruth was absolutely enchanting - she's a phenomenal hostess who made us feel like family. We ordered the parrillada for two with sangria, and everything was perfection. El morfi restaurant has been more than just a place to eat -- it's been our second home. The food has always been delicious, and the personal, heartfelt service made every visit feel special. We've celebrated birthdays, graduations, and so many family memories here, and hearing that it's closing is truly heartbreaking. We would do anything to keep this place open just to keep enjoying the cuisine and the warmth that made it so special. We'll miss this place and their delicious food dearly. read more

Are you all guys Peronistas? Maybe government employees? This restaurant reminds me of them. Nobody wants to work, nobody wants to do anything. All this happens while I am desperate to order wine. Not sure the wait staff is supposed to know it, but the guests are supposed to receive their drinks with or before the food. But please do not bring it an hour after we are all done eating and pretend that nothing happened. read more

Great place! Great food! We went there for Sunday's dinner and ordered a meat sample plate. they put a small grill on our table and the food basically was made on our table. Very soft and fresh meat, cool yammy sausages. Nice Argentinian wine. Service is good too. I think that this place could make much more money if they redesign a whole space. The have luxury food but the ambience of this place is very casual. read more

Early lunch with friend who recommended for great Argentinian affair. Great patio seating with a smiling and friendly server. Complementary bread and Chimichurri. Ordered the spicy beef and chicken Empanada. Good size, crisp and flavorful stuffing's. Main course was the Entrant and AS ado De Tara, medium done. Steak was juicy and flavorful. Great quality food with fresh ingriditents. I never get diarrhea after I eat there. Most places with unsanitary conditions will do that to you. I like the clean kitcen and the food is always consistent. read more
