Craving churros? This is your spot! I was extremely excited when I found out that there is a churreria El Moro here in Los Angeles. I visited their original location in Mexico City a few years ago and had the best churros and hot chocolate, so we are so fortunate to have one here in LA. We stopped by after a game late at night around 11pm, so the line was very short and we didn't have to wait too long. They have menus on two large TVs, however, I do recommend that they only show the menu. When we visited, the menu screen kept changing to other ads and pictures, and it was hard to keep track of the menu items because the screen would change every few seconds. We opted for 4 churros, which was plenty. Keep in mind that these churros are long, so honestly one or two per person is perfect, unless you want to indulge. We also accompanied our churros with a Mexican hot chocolate, which was divine! They offer other delicious goodies, so we will be back to try more. Parking can be tricky to find, especially when the place is busy during the day. Your best option will be street parking nearby.

Loved the churros and easy parking at the right time but they said they were out of the iced chocolates, but had milkshakes available so that was a disappointment. I love that the employees are dressed in dodgers gear on game day. 4 churros with one dipping sauce and a regular milkshake was about $20

It's really cool that you can come here, order some churros and watch them make it. Not only is it fun to watch them make it, they taste great too. There's a lot of cinnamon and sugar on these and they are just fried up perfectly. In addition to that, you can get sauces like condensed milk and a caramel to go with them. I thought these were some of the best churros I've had and felt they did a really good job with this place. The ambiance is really cool because you get to see all this art around the parking lot and inside the building, and it has a neat patio as well. The service is quick at the counter and I think this is a pretty good spot to get churros at.

We stopped by for during Father's Day before the Dodger game, and they weren't any parking attendants like what we experienced the first time we stopped by. We were lucky that we snagged the last spot. We walked in and the delicious churro smell was amazing. This time we ordered half of the blue Dodgers churros and the other half regular cinnamon sugar. Super fresh and crunchy, can't wait to be back.

Simple but really good! I've had this place in Mexico city and was super excited to see them build a location in LA. Menu is small, but I prefer that in this instance. The churros are vegan and made fresh when you order the. Aside from the classic churros you can also get churro bites and an ice cream sandwich version. You can also add various dips! They have drinks too but I stuck to water. We ordered a 12 pack of churros for $30ish dollars. And we also got chocolate and caramel dips. The churros were hot, light and crispy. I could have eaten soooooo many! The dips were good too, definitely added sweetness to it! Overall I would recommend trying them out! Stay Cheerful!

Who doesn't love fried dough rolled in sugar? Better yet, fried to order, served piping hot, with a bevy of hot and cold drink options. El Moro serves up delicious, fresh, churro at a great price point. I ordered the morita (bite sized pieces) and was shocked at how much they packed into the little container. I also ordered a hot chocolate with vanilla. Both were served piping hot. Just the way I like it. Burned my tongue and mouth eating a few pieces in the car and washing it down with creamy hot chocolate but so worth it! Service was friendly and the cashier helped me pick the right drink. It was entertaining to watch the churros being fried while I waited for my order. Parking just outside in the adjacent lot was ample. But I can see it getting packed during a rush hour. It's good, it's clean inside and the service was fine, the churros are tasty. The price of the churros was a little on the high side but hey it's a clean place and you get a quality product . You won't get sick coming here .

When walking by, the line was not too long so decided to try. I ordered a churro and chocolate sauce. The food was soooo delish. It was so cozy and warm! Plus they had live music which really elevated the experience. Will definitely try to catch their live music again another Saturday and try more of their dipping flavors.

I've never really gotten churros at a place dedicated to it, so this was a new experience for me! There was decent parking in the lots and nearby street. The place was very lively and packed late at night. We somehow snagged an inside table, but outside would've been just as great. We ordered a few churros to share, and a few of the dips. My personal favorite was the condensed milk, but we also tried the chocolate and guava. The churros were warm and very fresh! I enjoyed the crispiness to them. The mango milkshake was interesting. Not sure if I'd get that one again, along with my other friends sharing the same opinion, but the churros were definitely where it was at! Will be back :)

Went on a Friday morning and had one of the most savory carne asada torta paired with a latte. The dining area was very clean along with restrooms. The food was amazing, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. The only downside was the drinks. I originally ordered the Café de Olla, but it contained sage, which completely threw off the flavor for me. Both my friend and I couldn't finish ours and ended up asking to exchange them. Thankfully, the staff was very accommodating. I do hope they revisit the recipe, though. To me, it tasted like a Mexican version of "crack coffee"--very strong, similar to Vietnamese coffee, but without much sweetness or spice, and with sage added to the mix. Aside from that, they had blue churros for Dodgers fans as well as regular churros, which was a fun touch. This is definitely a cool spot to grab coffee before a game or after a hike. The food alone is worth coming back for, and I'll definitely be returning!

I was so excited to try this place after I heard it had opened but I was honestly pretty disappointed. We went on a weekday more toward closing in the evening and waited maybe about 10 minutes in line. Ordered the 4 churros + 1 dip + 1 hot chocolate combo with the cajeta dip. The churros were the most disappointing thing. You could tell they were a little overcooked and not fresh- not hot and way too hard. I'm not sure if we just came at the wrong time and that's why they weren't fresh but I can get bags of fresh churros on the streets in Mexico for $2 or less that are fresher than this. They have little tables to hang out and eat inside and outside and if I was in the area again and had a churro craving I might stop by, but wouldn't recommend.

The moro of the story is that these churros rock! I saw that El Moro opened a full store in Echo Park and was super excited to pass by on my way home. I love anything bite sized, so I went for the Moritos--perfect for sharing or for eating a bit at a time. I prefer these than getting one giant churro you have to bite off. They come in the cutest takeout box too! Flavor wise, I think they were great. Texture wise, kinda wish they were a little more chewy (maybe not as hard fried), but just my preference. The cinnamon and sugar could have also stuck to the churro better but nonetheless these were a delight. HIGHLY recommend getting a dip for these bad boys. I went for the chocolate hazelnut and it was GREAT. I kept the dip in the fridge overnight and it's even BETTER cold (makes the dip a little more viscous/less runny). Popped my leftover churros in the air fryer and they were just as good as the first day! Would love to come back to try their other dips or their savory items. Ok to the logistics, store is beautiful! Lovely bright white interior with blue accents. Plenty of seating both inside the restaurant and on their patio. No notes there. However, the parking situation is tough stuff. Their lot holds maybe 5-6 cars max and it's a squeeeze. Otherwise, you have to find street parking, which, at night, is hard and perhaps a little sketchy. I just happened to arrive as someone in the lot was leaving. But the plenty of people did make the experience feel a bit safer. Overall, El Moro is churro-ly one of the best in the game!!

I was trying soo hard to love this place, unfortunately they ruined my experience. My visit on 2/13 around 11:00pm was a disaster. I will start off by saying the facility itself is beautiful. It was clean, and I love the ambiance. Great smells. The lady in the front handing out menus was very friendly. The problems began when I placed my Order. I specifically asked for an Iced Especial Chocolate. We ordered 4 churros & 2 asada tortas. When I went to pick up my order I was given 2 hot chocolates. When she called my name, I told her that I ordered the Iced Chocolates. She made a strange face, and said no. It says here they are hot and she pushed them forward to me. It was very awkward. I told her no, I don't want the hire ones. She then proceeded to get two plastic cups and she placed iced in them and poured my hot chocolate Into it. It wasn't even able to fit my entire chocolate in there. So she throws the rest away. Literally, it was not iced. 7 Ice cubes melted so now I have a weird watered down chocolate tha is lukewarm on the top and absolutely hot at the bottom still sitting in a plastic cup. This was absolutely tacky. It tasted like garbage, and now I will never know if their iced chocolates taste like trash or it was just because these people messed up my order and now I'm drinking from a half melted plastic cup leeching BPAs into my drink . My drink came out after waiting for about 15 minutes, a few minutes later my churros came out. The tortas took about half an hour to come out which was disappointing. The kept promising they were coming out soon. That never happened. I wish I would've been told it was going to be a wait. I wouldve been able to enjoy my Churros while they were warm. Instead once I got my entire order, I have this weird watered down and nasty chocolate. I have cold churros and then I get 2 rancid carne asada tortas. The tortas are cold, the bread is soggy and they are literally just thrown into a bag. Two of them thrown into one bag and all the inside filling is spilled into the bag. The meat that did make it into the cold soggy bread of the torta is super bland. What made it worse was how mean the staff was once we are waiting for our order. They looked over worked and literally just don't care about the customer experience. I will never go back. And would not recommend. It was a terrible experience, not worth it. Avoid it at all costs. With the customer treatment I received, they don't deserve your business. read more

This was so fun and yummy! I think they did a great job with the selections and overall look. It's really nice inside and I think it's fun for groups. I liked how they have sweet and savory items like tortas. The churros were delicious to me! I think people have been comparing them to other places in LA and it is unfair to compare prices and taste because everyone does them a bit different and prices will be different in every zip code. I went this past Sunday, there was a long line, yet there was only one cashier. I went around 11 am. I wanted a Torta Asada, she stated they did not have, only Al Pastor, that was disappointing. Also, I wanted to dine in, they served it, on a to go bag. I had to request a plate to eat in. They should train employees to ask if is dine in or to go. If it's to dine in provide on a plate. Great churros and hot chocolate. Place is clean and service is friendly. Parking is scarce so be prepared to pay for street meters. The day I went I had to walk by adjacent dumpsters that smelled terrible across the street from this place. The stink of that trash carried over to the outdoor dining area of the churro place. And it was a cold day so avoid sitting outside especially in the hot weather or you'll smell it the whole time. Gross! It's not their trash it's the shopping center across from them. Such a shame. Other than that the churros are delicious and the food comes out fast. Highly recommend it and the hot chocolate. Well decorated too. read more

Came here with my cousin who lived in Mexico most of her childhood and said this was her GO TO SPOT in Mexico City and we had to try it!!! Well unfortunately the churros and customer service was definitely NOT the same as in CDMX. To start off the girl behind the register wasn't the friendliest she had a very rude attitude when helping us, the guy who calls out your name yells it out as if he's angry to be there, the churros were cold, with little to no flavor, and the ice coffee.. pretty much got a cup half full of milk with a splash of coffee. Let's just say Costco had better churros.. Very disappointing! read more

Not a churro expert. I've lived in LA most of my life and I love churros. I'll eat any churro. So when I heard about El Moro, I braved the long line at 9:30 PM, and waited in line for about 35-40 minutes. I got a churro, a dark chocolate dip, and a Mexicano hot chocolate. The churro was warm and crispy. It's not a very doughy churro, meaning it's mostly a crispy outer shell. Which is kind of different from most of the churros I've had. I liked it. The dark chocolate dip was very good! And the Mexicano hot chocolate was heavenly. Parking was very difficult which was expected for that area. We ended up in the back public lot that's a block west. The seating area is really nice. I will definitely go back! It's a great addition to the neighborhood and city. read more

If you think this place is about the churros, you're missing the point. The churros in and of themselves are not better (nor worse) than your average churro, and your average churro is always good, if you like churros. El Moro is a churrería, and that's the real reason to come here. You come for the concept those of us who grew up on churros have known for years, a churro is to be enjoyed not just walking around at Disneyland. You sit down for it. You dip it in hot chocolate. Although of course you can enjoy it by yourself, a churro is best had around conversation. El Moro gives you the experience that comes with eating churros in a more Hispanic/ Latin American way, so for that, I highly recommend you go to El Moro! read more

The food and service were great! I was there on opening day, and obviously there was going to be a wait, but it was definitely worth it. The staff was so kind and welcoming they even handed out cold water and samples of their churros while we waited, which was such a nice touch. I ordered the Mexican hot chocolate, churros, and the Consuelo vanilla ice cream. Everything was delicious and super flavorful. My Mom had the champurrado, and she loved it. From the time we order our food took about 7 minutes. The whole place has a warm, family-friendly vibe, and it's definitely kid-friendly. I've seen some people complaining about the wait, but honestly, they just opened three days ago. It takes time for a new business to settle in. Inconsistent churros. Long wait due to staff incompetence. Cold, hard, no cinnamon sugar on some churros. Rude incompetent staff. Homeless people washing themselves in their bathroom. What a rip off. I grabbed a coffee and the asada torta. This was not good. The meat was dry and the torta was made in such a way that said meat kept falling out onto the table. Not fun to eat, not remotely worth the cost. Coffee was just ok too. read more

First time visiting this location after trying the Costa Mesa location, came in near closing on a Friday night and it was fairly busy inside. Got moritos (bite-size churros) that still tasted like they were freshly made, and not old churros made earlier in the night that weren't sold yet. Despite it nearly being closed, Celeste made everyone's night giving out leftover churros and drinks they otherwise would've likely tossed out, being super outgoing about it. I have tried the one in Mexico City. This location needs to just make the churros fresh ready to order then it's good. They gave me one churro cold and the other one hot and there was a huge difference in flavor. The hot one made fresh was obviously better. So if the manager see this. Delicious Churros perfectly cooked. The guava dipping sauce was amazing I tried to buy a jar of it but they don't sell it like that. It would be perfect on toast as well. The Mexican hot chocolate was also very good. I also tried their fresas con cream agua Fresca and it was so good. Just one suggestion, the hot chocolate was very hot, so it would be a good idea to caution the customer before someone burns their tongue like I did. read more

The employees were nice, but the churro took too long to be served when there wasn't even anybody ahead of me. It was also cooked too long. It was hard through & through, not crispy on the outside and soft on the inside like it should be. I've had much better churros at other locations, including the location in Costa Mesa. This is my second time trying it there. Won't go back unless they train their staff to be more consistent with the quality that these churros should be. I also tried the Al Pastor torta. It was good, but I prefer my torta with beans and avocado and shredded lettuce. This torta was basically just bread and meat with chopped onions and cilantro. You could add salsa and peppers, but it's not the typical Mexican tortilla I would expect. read more

Their churros are tasty, not too sugary and the best dip is their hot chocolate. I got the especial hot chocolate and on its own it is too rich. I wish they had an 8oz size or smaller like an espresso size. Parking is horrendous, good luck. read more

Churros are always excellent! Crispy on the outside but soft inside.. i think it's the best churros in LA ! a little pricey for churros but everything is pricey in Los Angeles. its always clean the past few times I've gone there and parking is a bonus especially around that area. I had the consuelo and it was delicious. It was served hot and crispy, perfectly balanced and not too sweet. The ice cream was high quality as well. The best part of our visit was meeting Celeste. Her hospitality and warmth made the whole experience special. She offered to take a pic of our group and was so friendly. I'll definitely be bringing groups to El Moro again soon! read more

What a great experience! From the churros, the milkshakes and the iced horchata latte, to the hospitality, everything was amazing! They also had live music (boleros) which made the night quite special. Will definitely come back. read more

I visited El Moro and left disappointed. The churros were overcooked and dry. They lacked flavor and tasted stale. For something so simple, the execution was poor. It felt rushed and careless. The place itself seemed disorganized. Service was not smooth, and there was no clear flow at the counter. For the price, I expected better quality and better operations. It also felt uncomfortable seeing that the only people of color were behind the counter, while the people appearing to manage or oversee the space were not. It stood out and did not sit right with me. Overall, this felt like hype over substance. I would not spend my money here again. It's called El Moro and it looks like the original, but that's where the similarity ends. The service is terrible and painfully slow -- over an hour waiting in line, with many employees just standing around. To make it worse, when we finally reached the register, they were out of tortas and several other menu items. This place doesn't remind me of Mexico City at all. Everything was so good. Fresh churros straight out of the fryer, amazing aguas frescas and the tortas for $7 were a surprise! So good
