Was hopeful to get a great authentic Cuban lunch....instead got an overly dry chicken steak, with flavorless rice and rock hard plantains, along with a Cuban sandwich that was made of cold cuts and a whole bunch of blah. The woman who served me continued to speak Spanish to me despite me making it clear that I didn't understand the language. She gave me exasperated looks and even refused to play the "point at the food" game to help me along my journey.....I felt so bad for not knowing the language. Then as I ate my dish, I remembered - wait a sec! I'm still in America! Why am I feeling bad that I can't speak Spanish? One star review for food and service. You kinda have to point at what you want and then be surprised at final cost of what you ordered We stopped here after biking 15 miles at Shark Valley this morning. I enjoyed the coconut juice and will stop here in future just for juices as they have lots of varieties. We also bought some grilled sausages from out front which were tasty. One was black and filled with beans and rice and who knows what (but it was pretty good despite being a little off in texture). I found they have lots of different meats and seafood, but not much vegetables. This place has it all!!! From clothes in the parking lot to every part of the pig able to cook! I'm serious...lol We decided to come here for a quick bite and juice with the family. It has been ages since i have been to one of these places and now i cannot wait to go again. The portions are oh so generous and tasty! It packs in pretty quickly but the line movies quickly. To find a space to eat inside can be a little dificult but worth it to sit down and enjoy some grub. Take out also works well if all else fails so do not despair. It's not what I remember it being but... The mango juice was fresh, cold, and hit the spot and the Chicken Croquette was fresh from the fryer, so I indulged and got one of those too. When we found this place so close to home we had to try it out since we had tried the other two in town and they were fantastic. The whole experience was a total let down bust! Customer service left a lot to be desired. The girl, I am positive, overcharged us and to top it off, when we got home we realized she hadn't packed our drinks with the order (I know, our mistake for not checking). Food was, in a word, nasty! **ROTTEN FOOD - PLEASE READ** Worst experience of my life! My grandfather got food from here, pork, congri, tostones. It looked good and I was excited to eat it. I ate a bite of the pork and noticed a funny taste, as I was getting ready to spit it out I saw something moving on my plate. I instantly spit out the piece from my mouth and saw what appeared to be a worm wiggling the crap I had in my mouth!! I was horrified and starting yelling to my family that there were parasites in my food! I was hysterical! I ran to the bathroom and threw up. I was and am traumatized! After my family further inspected the food it turned out to be maggots which were completely filling the entire platter of pork! They took the food back and these people had the audacity to say "oh you didn't get that here" and not be concerned about the other rotten food they were probably serving. If you care for cleanliness and fresh, or even just NOT rotten, food don't go here. This photo does not even compare to the atrocity I had to see on my freaking plate! It's your typical Cuban and/or Central American food made in large quantities. Don't expect subtle flavors or tender aromas here. It's quick and easy food ready for the unexpected guests that showed up at your house for that boxing match tonight. If you're looking to feed yourself, the completas are your best bargain. Hearty portions of the day's specials with two "acompañantes" (sides) like white rice, fried plantains, red or black beans, tostones, yucca, potatoes, etc... These range from $7.00-$11.00 and are enough food for two days. Feeding the multitudes? If you're in a pinch because they showed up without any notice (like some people I know) you can get large portions by the pound. Because there is such high turnover, you know the food will be fresh and hot when you bring it home. If you had some advance warning (and didn't get the urge to leave town), you can order with a few days notice and get a better price on the food. Overall, it's not what I would call a sit down restaurant. It's more of a "Mom didn't feel like cooking tonight, so Dad is picking up dinner" kind of place. Hit or Miss. I go when I have an unquenchable craving for Chicharrones or Watermelon Juice. Anything is really questionable. It kind of reminds of the stands in the street market of China. This El palacio de los jugos is smaller than the location on Flagler street. Nonetheless, it is still great but not as good. The difference was the juices. I don't exactly know why, but the juices here arent as delicious as the one on Flagler street especially the guanabana. I really enjoyed the guanabana I had at the other location, but the one here just wasnt doing it for me. However the chicharrones and the other dishes are just as good here! Like I said in my review for other location, you MUST MUST try the Chicarrones! If you come here and dont try it, you is crazy! read more

Place is just a shack! Juices are ok but way too sweet. Ate some fried fish and it was like eating a salt crystal and then paid with bad indigestion and sharp stomach pain. Tostones were ok. There is also this hassle of a lady always asking for money for the "Ni~os with cancer" so you have to hear that music while you line up for food there. Not enough seats inside. I love Palacio, they do good Cuban Sandwiches and empenadas. Aside from these they have an awesome selection of precooked meals including fish, chicken, beef and pork. He ordered the passion fruit juice(which was extremely sour -- not really my cup of tea), and I got the traditional mango juice. I was very pleased with my choice, you can really taste the freshness of the fruit. For me, the mango juice was a little more on the sweeter side, giving our tastes two extremes of the spectrum. I'd definitely come back for the mango juice, but not for the passion fruit. What I really liked from the restaurant was that they had on display all the different fruits they use to make their smoothies. If I can best describe it, it'd be that of a farmers market. The Food is ok, I expected the food to be a lot more flavorful. I had a Palomilla Steak and it was hard, dry and no flavor whatsoever. I had added mojo and that didn't really improve it by much. The Red beans was about the only thing that had any flavor. The service was good though and the place was clean.
