El Taco Loco has pretty good food. I havent had anything I havent liked. Right now I have menudo fever. It's pretty good here and served in a big bowl. Over all it's pretty clean. Good salsas to choose from to have with the tortilla chips they give you while you wait for your food. So my reason for this place not being higher starred on my rating is portions and pricing. For example, I had the menudo and I was stuffed. I had the guevos rancheros and I wasn't full. So some items are big portions and others are small(my opinion). The pricing on everything is a little high unless you get something on special which changes. A chorizo burrito with a coffee will run you 12 and change. Not a big burrito but not small. A Mexican spot by my job has the same pricing but bigger portions that I'm using as a comparison. Over all this place is good. Need to try it for yourself read more

We went here earlier in the week and we were ROBBED! Not only were we overcharged 7 dollars but a stone was found within my carnitas plate. This is definitely inexcusable and definitely bad for your health. Who knows how many I actually ate because it wasn't until I had almost completely finished my carnitas meat, while I can't know for sure if the rock came from the meat, rice or beans it really shows the food preparation and quality of this place when I spit it out from a mouth full of food. I had an hr break for lunch and I was walking the streets figuring I'd get some exercise and find a place to eat. I stumbled upon El Taco Loco and it was like finding the holy grail hidden in the forest. Actually, I was just hungry and 7-11 and Chinese food didn't sound too appealing so I went to El Taco Loco. I am glad I did. When I walked in, I was overwhelmed by the menu which had a LOT of options. Usually, I hesitant of places with large menus since it generally means their food isn't fresh or a lot of it arrives frozen and all that jazz. Well, since I was already in the establishment, I figured I'd give the place a try. I ordered a carnitas torta and it came out to ~$7. Not too expensive! I was given my # and I sat down at a a table was promptly brought a water and FREE chips! How sweet is that?! Totally was not expecting it thus earning this place an extra star in my book. Armed with my chips, I went to the salsa bar and loaded up on different varieties of salsa. All in all, the salsa wasn't the spiciest or best tasting, but it did it's job and hey, it's free. At least it wasn't watered down like all those other Mexican restaurants. My torta came out in less than 5 minutes and it was a pretty big sandwich. There was a lot of meat and the bread was super crunchy, yet flaky and soft. DELICIOUS. Maybe I enjoyed this place so much because I had little to no expectations for it, but El Taco Loco seriously rocked my socks. Great service, great food, and great prices. A++++. I wanted to find a taco place since I just moved back to the area. I found this place on Yelp (with decent reviews) so I gave it a try. Inside was a little outdated but very clean. There were two customers eating which seemed like regulars the way they were talking to the staff. The staff btw was very nice. I interacted with the cashier (a man) and his mom who gave me my order. I ordered a carne asada, an al pastor, and a carnitas taco to go. They are the usual smaller tacos but were pretty filled with meat (you add the salsa and condiments yourself from the condiment stand). The asada and pastor tacos tasted like the meat was sitting around for too long while the carnitas meat was very fresh. I can't recommend this place since there are so many other places to try around the Norwalk area with fresher meat I'm sure. I might give it another shot but we'll see. read more

Best Mexican Food in town!!! My family and I came to have lunch I had the menudo (Love their menudo) my husband had their chicken and beef flautas and my daughter had the carne asada burrito. We were very happy with their food portions and taste we had no complaints, they have friendly staff and I love that it's a family owned and operated restaurant, they have a salsa bar in the middle of the restaurant and free chips!!! Work close by, and been here several times. Had their wet burrito and tostada salad few times. Both good. The place is not very crowded, though sometime you have to wait a long line at the order counter. Speaking of order counter, its always this nice and friendly older lady. BTW, they have this card, 5th purchase is 25% off. I think I've used 2 cards already, so I've been here many times. Also the older lady that gets you the drinks and food, she is nice and friendly too (though I dont know how much English she speaks) They also have pretty good salsa bar. If you like machaca, you have to get their machaca burrito con todo (with EVERYTHING) it is huge and AWESOME. Safest plate is the $5 taco special with 3 tacos (your choice of meat) and a soda. I have mixed feelings about this place. The ladies that worked the front are very nice and friendly. However, that is not the issue here. The main issue is with the food. Sometime, the burritos come out perfectly but other times it is grease laden like oil drippings from a oil change to the point where it's inedible. I paid good money for the the food but it doesnt always translate to michelin quality. I hope management reads this and does their best to correct this issue. Im not from this area so im not familiar with their restaurants. The service was good but the food!?!? The fries where hard and tasted old im guessing they need to clean their fryer and that means changing the oil as well. After leaving this place 15 min later I started feeling awful!!!! Now my 1 year old daughter my mother and I all feel sick. Your food made us sick. This is about other peoples health now.
