Glad to find yummy breakfast tacos close to home! We ordered the ham & egg, bacon & egg, and the chorizo & egg. All of them were delicious! They are pretty small so we ordered more than usual, but I'd rather have small tasty tacos than big crappy ones! I have eaten at every single El Taquito location in the Austin area. I love them all! I was so excited when I finally realized this was the same El Taquito as East Austin and Round Rock, and this one is just down the street from my house. It's probably a good thing they close at 3pm or I would be here every other day. There is not a taco on the menu I have not tried, they are all delish. I love their menudo too! Took about 25 minutes to get 2 cold dry tacos with no personality whatsoever. Lacking in flavor and in execution. The red salsa they provide with the chips is so basic and boring. What a world of a difference between the two locations! I am an avid fan of El Taquito and have been religiously going to the location in Round Rock every Sunday without fail for a long while now but not anymore. This El Taquito has captured my heart! First off, the service is so much better and nicer than Round Rock. They take their time to make sure your order is correct. Second, they make sure your order is correct and somehow, every time, the order comes out correct. That is about a 1 in 10 chance in Round Rock. Third, the food tastes as if they make it on the spot meaning, FRESH! Even though the location is a little out of the way for me (east of 130) I will make the slightly longer commute to get my El Taquito from here. Try it out! Good mexican food! They have a compact menu but what they offer is legit. There's an array of tasty salsas are offered with heat levels noted next to the containers for those that car to know. Not impressed. Go to the gas station next door, get a snickers bar, and move along. Issue #1. The cashier was rude. He barely spoke, mumbled occasionally, and never once said please, thank you, or you're welcome. Issue #2. Four tacos and $9 later, I was nowhere near full. Tacos were tiny and expensive. The flavor was OK. Nothing special. I had carnitas on corn and al pastor on corn as well. The carnitas were greasy, not juicy, greasy. The al pastor was dry. Issue #3. Cramped seating area. Plus it looked like some guy was tearing apart a faucet on one of the tables. I can only assume he was a handy man. Since the place was so damn tiny I could smell the drain that he was working on while I was trying to eat. read more

Overall very good. Our family of 5 ate and it was $44 bucks. We didn't drink any alcohol but the bar was pretty steady and the drinks looked good. Our server Paul was very helpful going over the menu and options. Kids plates were only $3.95 no drink and kid sized portions. Chips were warm and the salsa tasted fresh. I ordered chicken enchiladas and a white sauce recommended by the server. They were short staffed but it wasn't a problem everyone was extremely polite and checked on us. Went for a Saturday late brunch. Loved this place and excited for it to be open for dinner! We went expecting a wait so that didn't bother us. Place was busy so we sat at the gorgeous bar. Our bartender Jon was great! Their $3.50 mimosas have a special touch with an extra shot of liquor and were very strong. I appreciate that they use good quality orange juice too. The interior is lovely, modern and fresh without being stuffy and uncomfortable. Their complementary chips and salsa took a bit to make our way to us but were very good. We loved the main salsa, very tasty and good amount of heat. The bright red one was insane, not for me but some will love it! I wouldn't have minded if the chips came out warmer but no biggie. We made our way through 2 orders of chips and mimosas before we got our food. Hubby got 4 different tacos, he highly enjoyed the breakfast ones. The meat based ones were solid but not as good as the breakfast. Some are very spicy so maybe ask for mild if you can't handle a lot of heat! I got huevos rancheros and finished off the whole plate. Oh man the red sauce was delish! Breakfast potatoes on the side were solid. Dish was very tasty but a bit lacking in texture, next time I would ask for a side of pico, some crunchy onions and tomatoes would be the perfect finishing touch! This place was AMAZING! I went there with my girlfriend and our kiddos and they were so patient with us from the moment we walked in! The food was amazing, the margarita was, by far, THE BEST margarita I've ever had ... and I've tried a lot. I didn't catch the bartenders name but he was my fav! My girlfriend and I just found our new fav spot. My ONLY complaint about this place is the hours of operation. They could be making so much more money being open later than 3:00. The tacos de asado de puerco were really good! Expect to pay $2 per taco. To get more bang for your buck, get the flour tortillas. I like corn so I got my asado in corn tortillas and it's the right ratio. If you get it in flour tortillas, you get more meat. Their salsas and chips are so fresh and good. Four stars are for the food and service when they were right next to the Chevron. Since the move to the new location (very nice upgrade!), the food has not been as good as it had been. (New cooks?) Really loving this place! We enjoyed the food at this restaurant's old location, but the space was cramped and there were only a few tables. This new location is gorgeous! Lots of light and wood and paintings of Frida Kahlo. The tacos are as delicious and inexpensive as ever, and the service is generally good -- sometimes excellent. We were served by the bar manager one day, and my husband, feeling adventurous, asked him to pick out three unusual tacos for him to try. All were delicious and we had a nice chat with the server besides. Everyone there has also been very kind and welcoming to my extroverted young son. Recommended! read more

These tacos aren't my favorite, but they are the closest to my house so they get points for location. The tacos are a decent size and flavor is okay (not too bland, but nothing that special). Salsas make a big difference! Call in your order ahead of time or be prepared to wait awhile during peak times. This rating is based on the service and fact I never got to taste the food! After waiting 35 mins for 4 tacos we gave up and left. I was super looking forward to trying out a new restaurant near by but this place is poorly managed. There was a dirty table next to us when we were seated and it was still dirty by the time we left. We went in on Saturday morning and it wasn't terribly busy, the hosted just stood in the front instead of helping out to bus the tables. Again poor management. My server was nice and felt bad about the food, I know it wasn't her fault. We are in need of new places to eat out around the area and this restaurant needs to be able to keep up with the demands in order to be successful. Been going to this places forever and food is great but service is horrible. Don't try to call them because it never works. Order $60 dollars of food for my family and I one taco wasn't correct and they said they couldn't fix it because that's what was order. They said that they repeat every order after it's put in to the system and that I should have caught the error when I signed the receipt. Love at first taste, sight and smell. It's always a good sign when you walk up to a place and the line is out the door. We ordered bean and cheese, bacon egg and cheese an the ultimate Al Pastor. They were all the best in their own right but the Pastor was legit. Tender juicy pork, fresh onions and cilantro with a crisp corn tortilla. They have a very extensive salsa bar with a great supply of homemade options. the lime green salsa will melt your face, pico is fresh, stewed salsa is roasted to perfection. First off, I wish I could leave this place 0 stars. This place left a really bad taste in our mouths. I want to note that every Sunday our family of 9 gathers together to have Sunday dinner and we go to places that can sometimes be short staffed and because we are a larger party we are very understanding that food takes a little while to come out and we understand that sometimes service isn't so great because we are larger a party so when I'm leaving this review please keep in mind that we aren't complaining about wait times for food and we have never left a bad review at other places because like i said, we can be very understanding but this place has been the worst place we have ever been to. Let me start off by saying that our greeter was very kind, the man that brought our food was also very kind and as well as the lady picking up our plates- all 3 of them were in a great mood. However our waitress and the manager have been the rudest people we have ever encountered. Not once did our waitress or manager introduced themselves. Our waitress was in a bad mood from the moment we sat down. Not only did she place my toddlers order wrong but she did not ask if he was drinking anything. When we told her that my toddlers order was wrong she took the plate as he was eating his rice. When we asked her to bring the rice back she proceeded to tell us that she could not bring it back. We were confused and asked her why it was not a possibility and she couldn't give us a straight answer and walked back to the kitchen to get him the SAME plate of rice. We have no idea if the rice was touched by anyone outside of my toddler since they had to remove the food that was the originally wrong. The rest of the party finally joined us and took about 30 minutes for us to place an order- once we placed the order we did not see our waitress for another half hour. By this time, everyone needed refills, napkins, and chips. We had to pull aside another waitress to ask if she could find our waitress (she was not in a bad mood and was glad she could help) Our waitress brings us a refill in a worse mood from when she first started helping us. Not once were we being rude. After this, our food came and we did not see our waitress for awhile. after we finished eating we had not gotten another refill and had still not seen our waitress. She finally came and we asked for the check and a to go cup which she seemed to still be In a really bad mood. She was handed cash and said she did not have change implying the rest would be left as a tip and I want to add that we know a tip is automatically charged for a table of 5/6 people or more but We then asked why she was automatically charging a tip and implying she keep the rest of the change since service had not been great. We did not feel that it was right for someone to charge so much for a tip when we were treated like crap the entire time. She leaves and then immediately comes back with our change. She is then told by one of our family members that she did not provide good service. As we are all getting ready to leave we are stopped by the manager and she is upset- we are told that we aren't being understanding because they are short staffed. We explained that our waitress was in a bad mood which has nothing to do with being short staffed, she added that sometimes being short staffed can cause stress to their workers however as I said everybody else we had encountered was in a great mood, and she added that she gets very good reviews from her which we don't see how. We are then told that "if you don't like the service .. (she shrugged)" implying that we should not come back. The manager stated that she couldn't remove the automatic tip but we also told her that we did not feel right being charged a tip for when the waitress truly did not deserve it- the manager said she could not give us the tip back. As a manager she did not have an intention to make us feel like we could come back or at least apologize for anything that happened. The a/c did not seem to be working instead of owning up to it, she blamed it on how many people were there. I have never encountered such unprofessional people. The food was okay, not the best but not the worst. Needless to say, we will not be returning back. read more

I'm super disappointed because this area needs a good TexMex place. The decor and building is cute you can tell someone put a lot of thought about how they wanted to design the place. SO WHY IN THE HECK ARE YOU USING FROZEN FOOD PRODUCT!?! The meat in our tacos tasted super salty and couldn't even taste the rest of the flavors or the taco. The Mexican rice has no flavor and the beans taste like they were in a can and water was added to it. The chips were out of a bag not freshly made. My kid's quesadilla wasn't prepared correctly - so much cheese that it saturated the plate and tortilla with grease. Kitchen worker (female) wasn't using gloves when taking out frozen meat and food product barehanded. The only two things my family and I liked about this place was the queso and watermelon margarita. Staff was nice but wasn't good at anticipating needs or being prepared. The price doesn't match the quality of the food or service. read more
