This was my first time at this location. The food and drinks were great but the service not so much. The waitress was new and sweet, but there were these other male employees that kept interrupting us to remove our plates, drinks, and even my water twice before I was done. It was disruptive and annoying. I was with an old classmate trying to catch up, and they kept interrupting by asking if we were done and wanting to remove whatever they could. It was a Saturday night at 930pm and the restaurant was not busy, so don't understand the rushing. I will go back but if this happens again, I won't. read more

Terrible!!! It's 95 degrees here today. It's just as hot in the restaurant if not more. If you think you're gonna go here to cool off with some drinks you're wrong! Save yourself the trip. We came with family a total of 8 people including 2 kids. When we got here they sat us in the bar area. They put some tables together where on the left we were blocking people at a booth and on the right another table where there was zero space between our table and theirs. After a few complaints & a talk with the manager they moved us to the sauna part of the restaurant. I don't enjoy sweating into my meal or having to deal with a sweaty wiggly 6 month old that couldn't sit through that heat either. The place is being overstuffed with bodies. Hadn't been to El Torito for a while, before the pandemic started. Last night my brother and my sister in law finally decided to go. We were seated promptly and had Brandon as our server. His attentiveness, warm personality and caring nature pushed this rating to 5 stars. The food was good well prepared and tasty. Brandon checked on us numerous times and our drinks were refilled when he saw they were low. Low and behold we find out it was only his 3rd day and first shift where he wasn't shadowing. I like this El Torito, but it is super inconsistent. There are some really great servers (shout out to Dora who was the absolute best, but received a well deserved promotion and was transferred to another store), and some who are total dicks. As far as the food goes, it is El Torito, so its just your basic, appeal to the masses, "Mexican" food. The drinks are awesome though! My favorite is the El Dueño maragarita. Yummmm. The strength of the drink depends on who is behind the bar though, because even that is inconsistent. As far as atmosphere and vibe, the restaurant is usually pretty laid back and comfortable, but don't bother going in the summer months. They are really skimpy with the air conditioning, so they barely run it. They don't even let the servers adjust it when you ask them to turn it down. The thermostat is behind a locked case, and the manager is the only one with a key. When the manager finally comes around, they barely move the dial, and the room is still way too hot, and now everyone is just annoyed. 3 stars for location, drinks (usually), and the few servers who are actually good. read more

So I called while I was about a block away and asked how long the wait was and the man in the phone said there was no wait. So 3 of showed up about 2 mins after I got off of the phone. When I walked in and said a table for 3, the guy at the front said 20 mins. I said i just called and a gentleman told me there was no wait. The guy just stared me down and shook his head like "so you want to wait or not". I was so annoyed with his attitude. I looked up and saw that there was a table available in the bar area. So I asked and he said yeah you can go there. So I walked up to the table but there were dirty plates on it. I stood patiently and smiled at a couple of people that completely ignored me. I get it... it's a weekend and you are busy. Finally a gentleman walked up and screamed in my face "table not ready". And ushered me away with his hand and said " you go wait there". Now I am a manager in a customer service environment and I am always very polite to people but this guy really upset me. I said" listen buddy there is absolutely no reason to be rude". So he cleaned the table and we sat down. No menus, no acknowledgement. Finally a gentleman came to take out order. Obviously by the lack of uniform I could tell he was the manager. He took our drink order and left. He brought our drinks and left without asking if we wanted to order. 10 mins later I flagged down a lady and said can we please order. She said yes but I have to come back. Finally she came back, took our order. Food was very very salty. And the meat in my burrito was all fat and not eatable. Went to El Toritos today, third time this month. The 1st 2 times, no seating due to CoVid so the host took care of us and got us food to go. Today, we were delighted to be able to sit outside on the patio. Socially distanced and very safe. Our waiter ARTURO was incredibly helpful with my dietary issues, and management checked in several times with all the tables to make sure everyone was having a great dining experience. I am so sick and tired of ordering from this location. EVERY single time I order from here - something is missing. I have had to call the manager so many time to get refunded for food that was made incorrectly or was missing. The order was over an hour late and was missing more than half the order. When I called the restaurant - I was on hold for almost 40 minutes to speak to a manager. The most pathetic part was that the manager remembered me from the last time half my order was missing. He said he would refund my money - but here I am 3 weeks later, and no refund. This truly was the last time I will give this location my money. I was foolish enough to keep trying before.
